CAROLINE AND CHARLIE ENTERED THE GILBERT HOUSE THROUGH THE BACK DOOR. Pretty much everyone else had gone to some island to find the Cure, and they were left to babysit Klaus. The Lockwood girl was not sure why the hell they left her there when she was one of the people most likely to murder him. When they walked in, they saw Tyler sitting and watching Klaus from the kitchen. His girlfriend questioned, "You're still here? What are you doing?"
"Gloating," he responded, pouring himself a drink. The Mikaelson man emerged from the living room and walked as far as he could writhing the confines of the spell.
"Hello, Caroline," he greeted, smiling at the blonde girl. The hybrid girl stuck her tongue out at his childishly, but he deserved it. He turned his sarcastic smile onto her, and he brought his hand up to offer a small wave. "Charlotte, always the pleasure."
Caroline glared at him and made sure that her best friend was not going to attack him before turning to the older sibling. She sighed, "Come home. Don't stoop to his level."
"He destroyed my life. I plan on being present for every second of his misery until I can kill him myself," the boy informed her before looking to his sister, knowing that she hated the man just as much if not more than he did. "Charlie, you are welcome to join me."
"You know, I think I just might," she responded, her eyes trained on the Original. She wanted so desperately to wipe that smirk off his face. However, she knew that fighting him herself would not help and that they were working on a way to destroy him.
Caroline sighed, "Fine. You can gloat and multitask. This place is a disaster. Starting with a horrific burnt corpse." She searched through the cabinets until she found a table cloth, and she recruited her friend to help her cover up Kol's body with it. Klaus watched them with a slightly tortured expression.
"Tyler's and Charlie's mother is dead. So is my brother. We're even," the man pointed out, and the Lockwood girl was not a fan of him using her nickname that was reserved for her friends and people who did not kill her mother. "Call Bonnie. Get her to let me out of here."
"I will never, ever, help you," the blonde girl scoffed, rolling her eyes at the thought as he shot her his bets puppy dog eyes which was really pathetic.
He tilted his head, as if curious as to why she would not help him or be grateful to him. "How quickly you forget the part where I saved your boyfriend and best friend from the misery of being a werewolf. Or the night your mother invited me into her home to save the life of her precious daughter."
"How delusional are you? You killed his mother. And let's not forget that we're standing in a house where Elena's aunt Jenna used to live. Or did you think that your charm would make us forget how you killed her, too? You know what? No," she groaned, running an angry hand through her hair. "I am not going to engage in this. You are not even worth the calories I burn talking to you."
Suddenly, Klaus sped to pick up a nearby floor lamp, and he used to impale Caroline. She shrieked as both of the siblings lunged for her and yelled, "No!" He swung the blonde over to his side of the magical barrier and bit her neck, and she fell to the floor.
"Now, that was definitely worth the calories," he said with a smirk as the Lockwoods stood there with open mouths, completely shocked and angry. That was one of the last things that Charlie expected to happen, especially after all this talk about how much he liked Caroline.
The Forbes girl immediately scrambled away and out of the room so that Klaus could not get to her. Charlie grabs her and pulls her back toward her, and she and her brother led the girl over to the couch because she was already starting to feel the weakness caused by the bite. She shrieked, "Oh my god! Oh my god!"
"Hey, hey. Look at me. Look at me," he told his girlfriend, and she paused her freaking out to follow his instructions. She was still breathing heavily, but she was listening to him. "I can fix this."
"How?" his sister questioned with raised eyebrows. Klaus was trying to prove a point and get back at them, so how the hell was he going to convince him to heal Caroline? He had already proven that he does not care about her, and if he does, then he has a really weird way of showing it.
Caroline groaned as she started coughing. The poison was working really fast. She probably only had a few hours before she died. She had a good reason to panic. "The only thing that can heal me is his blood! Oh my god..."
"I know. I'll fix it," he assured both of the girls. Once the sick girl nodded, he stood up to face Klaus. Charlie squeezed her best friend's hand and ran her hand through her hair, trying to comfort her and let her know that she was there for her. "She'll die if you don't heal her."
"Beg me to save her life," Klaus ordered, and he bit his wrist and held it up
Tyler rolled his eyes and threw his hands up in the air in annoyance. Klaus was a really petty bitch, and he made sure that everyone knew it. He was literally the mean girl, always getting what she wants. "Is this what you want? To remind me that I'm powerless against you? Fine. You win. I'm nothing. Now save her. Please."
"I'm sorry, mate," the Mikaelson man joked, and he tilted his ear to the hybrid, pretending like he could not hear him, even though they all knew he did. He was just playing with him to make sure that Tyler knew who had the control there. "I didn't quite catch that."
"Please. Please save her life," he begged, and they all turned to look at the blonde when she coughed again. Charlie felt her forehead and realized that she was getting hot. Her fever was spiking, and she was sweating like crazy.
Klaus was still smirking, but it faltered for a second at the sight of the sickly girl. "See, now I think you're just telling me what I want to hear. I mean, you did call me pathetic earlier. And wouldn't it be more pathetic of me to help now, knowing that hours ago, you announced your plan to kill me in a manner in which you're debating because you want it to have a certain amount of flair? I'm just asking."
"I'll be your slave again," Tyler told him, and his sister furrowed her eyebrows. There was no way she was letting that happen. She would find another way, even if it meant going in there and getting the blood herself. "I'll do whatever you want. Just help her."
"No," the Mikaelson refused, shaking his head.
The Forbes girl was finally fed up with all of the talking and giving her false hope. She knew that she was going to die, and she could not stand to look at the man who was responsible, not after everything he had done. "Get me out of here. I can't even look at him."
"Come on," the brunette girl told her, helping her up and leading her up the stairs with Tyler behind them. She was not going to allow Klaus to do this to yet another person she loved. Caroline was one of if not her favorite person, and she was not going to let the Mikaelsons take her away from her.
She brought her to Elena's bed and let her rest a little bit. She craned her neck a little bit to try and look at the bite. She sighed, and she was too weak to run a hand through her hair. So, she just kid of touched her face. "It's getting worse. I'm sorry."
"No," Tyler responded, shaking his head. He was not letting her blame herself for this. It was his fault, and he was going to find a way to fix it, for Caroline, for himself, and for his sister. Neither of them could lose anyone else. "It's my fault. I'm sorry."
"No. You didn't do any of this," the Forbes girl responded, and she reached over and grabbed both of their hands, glad that her two favorite people were there with her during that moment. She would not have it any other way.
The older sibling groaned and cursed himself under his breath as he squeezed his girlfriend' hand. "I unsired the hybrids and turned them on Klaus. I should've just left it alone."
"You freed them, Tyler. People put their faith in you because you're a leader. Don't forget that," the blonde girl told him with a stern expression. No matter what, he needed to know that was he did for those hybrids was the right thing to do, and they would be much happier because of it.
"Then you trust me?" he asked, and both of them looked at him with a confused expression but nodded. He carried Caroline down the stairs and into the living room and laid her down on the floor. Klaus turned around and looked at them in confusion. "You want to be in control, Klaus? Here. Now you get to be in control of her life. If you want her to die, fine. But then you can sit here and watch her die yourself."
Then, he grabbed his sister's arm and pulled her out of the house with him. They began walking down the street, but they did not stray too far from the house. They wanted to know what would happen, so they would come back in a little bit. Charlie raised her eyebrows at him. "You think he'll do it?"
"I know he will."
