"YOU WANT ME TO WHAT?" CHARLIE ASKED WHEN SHE WAS ON THE PHONE with Damon . He had just called her and said something really fast, and she was no sure that she caught all of it. She had heard something about the Mikaelsons and Esther and Kol and Klaus and something about the Grill.

He took a deep breath before speaking again. He seemed nervous about what he was saying, like there was a possibility that she would kick his ass if she knew what he was asking of her. "Just go to the bar with Caroline and distract Kol while she distracts Klaus."

"Why do you think Kol would even pay attention to me?" she questioned. She had spoken to the guy once at the ball. He had flirted with her a little bit, but she assumed that he did that with a lot of people. He seemed like the type. He probably did not even remember her name.

"Oh, please," he scoffed, and she could practically see the smirk on his face as he informed her, "Last night, he was looking at you like he wanted to rip your clothes off right then and there."

Her jaw dropped, definitely not expecting him to say that. "Damon!"

"It's true," he responded with a shrug. He had seen many a lustful look in his time, and the way that Kol was looking at the Lockwood girl was definitely one of them. If not lust, it was at least attraction. "Just talk to him for long enough for Alaric to do his thing."

"Why are we doing this again?" she quizzed because she had kind of missed the first part of the conversation where he explained the purpose of everything that they were doing.

He groaned, a little annoyed, but in her defense, he had spoken at lightning speed. How was she supposed to understand his frantic rambling? "Because Esther has a plan to kill all of them."

"Esther is Mama Mikaelson?" she asked to clarify. She had heard the name, but she was not completely sure because it was such a usual name in their generation.

"Yes."

She furrowed her eyebrows because it was an unusual situation for a mother and her children. She knew that Klaus was awful, but she always thought he was one of those people that only a mother could love or something. It really said something about either him or his mother or both that even she could not stand him. "And she's trying to kill her kids?"

"Yes."

She ran a hand through her hair as she plopped down on her bed and stared up at the ceiling. She was exhausted and slightly hungover from the night before, and he was asking her to go get drunk again with Kol. She knew that the Mikaelson would think that she came to take him up in his offer from before. "That is all kinds of dysfunctional."

"Yeah, well, we're not here to judge. We're here to kill," he pointed out, clearly not wanting to hear her comments about the Mikaelsons and their mommy issues. "Are you in or not?"

"Okay, fine. I'm in."

So, that was how she ended up walking into the Grill with Caroline that night. They had heard from Alaric that Klaus and Kol had just showed up there. They were going to act like the blonde girl was dropping her friend off for her drink with Kol before leaving, but really, they were hoping that Klaus would follow her out. As they stepped into the restaurant and started walking toward the bar, the two men turned around, and the older sibling greeted, "Caroline!"

"Oh, it's you," the Forbes girl responded coldly as Kol smirked at the brunette next to het while sipping his drink.

Klaus raised his eyebrows at both of the girls, finally acknowledging the hybrid next to the girl that he was actually interested in. "Join us for a drink?"

"Mmm, I'd rather die of thirst," she answered before shooting him a sarcastic smile and turning around to walk out of the building. "But thanks."

"Isn't she stunning?" the Original hybrid questioned as the blonde girl walked away and the younger girl stepped toward the bar and compelled herself a drink.

Kol chuckled, shooting frequent glances at the girl leaning beside him and not really paying attention to his brother's problems. "She certainly looks good walking away from you."

"I'll take that as a challenge," Klaus replied before setting his drink down on the counter and following after the vampire as she stepped out of the door. Charlie shot a glance to Alaric, who was sitting a couple tables away, letting him know that the plan was in action.

The Mikaelson that was still there turned around from where he was leaning against the bar to look at her with a pleased smile as her whiskey was placed on the counter. "Are you here to take me up on my offer?"

"If it's still standing," she answered before grabbing her drink and bringing it to her lips. Her eyes never left his as a grin spread across his face.

"Of course, it is," he told her. A couple minutes later, they were playing pool, and it was Charlie's turn. She knocked a ball into the pocket, but she unfortunately knocked the cue ball in as well. She stood back up, and her back hit a chest. She realized that Kol was standing right behind her, and his lips were right next to her ear. Chills ran down her spine as he muttered, "I'm not gonna comment on how hot you look bent over a pool table."

She tried to hide the blush that rose to her cheeks after he said that, but the shock distracted her. Never had someone been so bold right to her face. "And yet, you just did."

"I couldn't help myself, darling," he told her as she turned around so that her front was pressed up against his, their faces inches apart. She knew what he was trying to do, but she was too smart to fall for it, especially when she was trying to get him killed.

She rolled her eyes as she placed her hand on his chest and pushed him away slightly. "Would you just shut up and go?"

"Ooh, I like pretty things with sharp tongues," he informed her with a smug smile as he took a couple of steps backward before walking over the get the ball out of the pocket that she had knocked it in. "Yes ma'am."

Just as his hand reached into the hole, he gasped. Her eyes widened as she saw the tip of a dagger poking through his chest right where his heart was. He shot her a look of betrayal before collapsing and revealing Alaric behind him. The man caught him and dragged him toward the side door that led to the alley. Charlie felt really bad, but she followed him anyway.

Stefan and Damon were waiting for them. Alaric passed the Original off to them as the older brother looked at the Lockwood with a surprised look. "I'm impressed, little Lockwoof. Who knew you could be charming?"

"You're an ass," she responded, but her glare turned to a shocked look as a blur sped past them, undaggered Kol, and slammed Alaric into a wall.

When the blur stopped, they could see that it was Klaus. Stefan lunged toward him, but he knocked him out as well as Alaric, and they both fell to the ground. The Mikaelson whipped around to face Damon. "I should have killed you months ago."

"Do it," the Salvatore challenged, and Charlie groaned, knowing that that was an awful idea. She was still frozen in shock because half of the people there were unconscious, and two of them were not people she expected to be unconscious. "It's not going to stop Esther from killing you."

"What did you say about my mother?" Klaus questioned, stepping toward the man threateningly. He really should be more mad and focused on his mother since she was the one trying to murder him and his siblings. Damon just clearly had a death wish by challenging Klaus to kill him.

"You didn't know I was friends with your mummy?" the man asked with a teasing look, and he was basically just begging for Klaus to throw a wooden stake into his chest right then and there. Charlie jumped as her heard Kol stir from where he was lying next to her. "Yeah, we have a lot in common. She hates you as much as I do."

Klaus was about to attack Damon when Elijah appeared at the top of the stairs leading down to the alleyway. He ordered his brother, knowing that they did not have much time. "Leave him! We still need them, Niklaus."

"What did mother do?" the younger Mikaelson questioned, but when his brother did not answer, he asked once again, "What did she do, Elijah?"

Elijah walked toward Damon, holding a phone. On it, Charlie could see a picture of Elena in some sort of hole, and she furrowed her eyebrows. "You tell me where the witches are or I'll have my sister kill Elena right now."

"You told me we had until after nine," the Salvatore man countered, causing the only female there to look up at the clock tower and see that it was only 8:30.

The man in the suit shrugged, and it was kind of scary to see him so threatening. Sure, she was terrified of him before, but at least she was pretty sure that he would not murder her without a good reason. "I'm sure Rebekah will be more than happy to start her work early."

Then, all of the older vampires left, and the Mikaelsons dragged Kol with them as Damon did the same with Stefan. That left Charlie and Alaric in the alleyway of the Mystic Grill, and she sighed before calling Meredith to come pick him up. She did not want to move him in case he had a concusion or some internal bleeding or something. So, she thought she would leave it up to the doctor and just go inside and finish her drink.

She got a call from Caroline after the fight or whatever happened. Apparently, they had managed to stop Esther and Finn from killing all of her children in order to save Elena who was being held captive by Rebekah. To do that, they had to stop the Original witch from channeling Bonnie and her mother. How the hell Bonnie's mother got there and involved, Charlie had no clue.

So, Damon ended up turning Bonnie's mother into a vampire, and the blonde girl was over at the Bennett house now, trying to comfort her. Witches were one of the people that hated vampires the most because they upset the balance of nature, so becoming one must be pretty hard on her. As a result, Bonnie was not talking to Elena since she was the reason all of this happened. She knew that she had no control over it, but she just could not deal with the Gilbert girl and the vampire drama at that moment.

Charlie returned home after another long night and furrowed her eyebrows when she saw a pice of paper on her doorstep. She picked it up to see that it was a small piece of fancy stationary, and on it, in surprisingly pretty handwriting, said, "I forgive you, darling, but you owe me a drink. โ€” KM."

She couldn't help the smile that crept onto her face as she unlocked the door and went inside.ย
