"Wait what?" Moon had asked as her and Selina just finished their shifts at the club, calling for a taxi but a lot ignored her; Moon was confused about what was happening right now and with Selina ignoring her wasn't making the situation better. Ultimately, a taxi finally sluggishly stopped in front of them.

Walking in front of the taxi door opening it, Selina signaled for Moon to get inside and that's what she did; the way Selina was masticating on the gum was a total giveaway that something was wrong Moon couldn't put her finger on it however.

A call comes through as Selina pressed accepted, Annika's voice trailed through on the other end; she was... in a panic or scared one could describe. It was wrong to spy on the conversation but just in cause if it was a death or life situation she could sneak away and not get hurt, was it selfish? Maybe, but either way Moon had a life to live even though it was a shitty one; she didn't wanna die this early... not now.

"Hey, it's me." Selina began still chewing the gum frantically, "What's wrong, baby? Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, slow down I can't understand anything you're saying." Selina trailed off as Moon listened to the whole conversation, even though Annika's voice was too aghast to understand anything she was saying.

"The news? Oh shit, shit, listen to me stay there alright? Wait for me." Selina kept rambling on as Annika's voice began to break with every word that came out of her mouth. "Baby, listen to me we're gonna get out of here alright? I promise-" The line suddenly departed as a sigh left Selina's mouth slamming her phone in her coat pocket.

"Are you going to tell me what the hell is going on?" Moon suddenly called out with a glare, Selina turned to her and shook her head holding her knees close to her chest.

"I'll explain everything when we get home, alright?" Selina had remarked, Moon had nodded as they drove in silence towards an apartment; Moon's phone suddenly went off as she looked at the contact ID it was her father. Should she answer? It could clear his visible worry of where his daughter was.

Pressing accepted, Moon heard some breathing on the other end of the line she frowned was this a prank call? Was her father okay? She began to think the worse until a familiar voice spoke on the other end.

"Moon? Moon, are you alright dear?" Edward cross-questioned, Moon had let out a sigh of relief knowing her father was indeed safe and nothing had happened to him; but what was the breathing about?

"Yes, dad I'm fine I'm... at Selina's tonight." Moon explained, everything went silent until a bark was heard from outside; looking out of the window Moon had seen a stray dog barking at a cat her heart began racing for some unknown reason.

"Oh okay, well I have to go; see you later sweetie." Right before Moon was about to say bye he hung up on her, odd... what the hell was he doing?

The door creaked opened as Selina stepped inside the small apartment, Moon followed and seen the interaction between Annika and Selina; turning to her right the woman saw the leaked pictures of Annika and the mayor on the news.

Selina had walked into the room, slipping on her leather latax suit along with a black backpack that stood out in the midnight; just when she was about to slip away out of the fire escape a hand slipped around Selina's wrist.

"Where are you going?" Moon had in a somewhat hard voice, Selina glared a little getting her wrist out of the others grip.

"I'm trying to get Annika's passport before she leaves out of here," Selina began with an eye-roll and a tone of voice that said 'thought that was obvious'.

"You seen the news, what if something happens to her-"

"Then, you stay with her; I'm leaving." Selina jumped down from the fire escape, Moon seethed and followed Selina down towards the pavement; it was ridiculous leaving the vulnerable Annika all alone by herself.

"Fine, I'll come with you; we'll go together." Moon had said with a hard tone of voice, Selina rolled her eyes opening the garage door to reveal a black motorcycle; Jesus everything that this woman has is black Moon presumed with a straightforward head nod.

Putting their helmets on, the two rode off into the night all Moon felt sick to her stomach and felt like she was on cloud nine after all the woman never rode on a motorcycle until today; honestly Moon didn't want to ever again.

"Come on!" Selina whispered yelled annoyed tapping her foot impatiently, Moon gulped hanging onto the black rope like it was her last hope; this wasn't really a secret but from a young age the woman was afraid of heights. Literally, if Moon died she would rather be shot than fall from a bridge.

"Promise you'll catch me?" Moon's voice cooed, Selina glared at her but nodded in desperation slowly she released her grip on the rope and started falling waiting for the worst to happen but when that didn't happen; Moon opened her eyes and seen her friend Selina holding her.

"You done acting like a little bitch?" Selina asked voice raspy, Moon rolled her eyes getting out of her friends grip; they were here for business not for no bullshit. Slowly, going towards a painting Selina's hand trailed over the ligneous frame while Moon kept a watch making sure no one was there.

Finally, feeling a bump Selina grinned as she pressed a button to reveal a safe that was kept super secure like Mitchell once was before his tragic- or at least in Selina's opinion he was only weeping what he sowed to the people of Gotham; but there was no time to think of that Annika was top of the woman's mind now.

She took out a few items from her bag and made a flashlight from it, one thing about Selina was that she was a very very very intelligent woman maybe even for her own good. Her sylphlike fingers covered by a black glove that kissed the nightline; finally hearing a crack Selina grinned from ear to ear and the safe door opened.

Batman had watched as Moon kept a watch, watching her figure in plain sight; that little grin Selina did made him anger in a sense silently somehow behind the woman in the latex suit as she pulled the passport of the safe.

"You're good at that," The dark knight scowled, Selina had leapt from the sudden voice and seen him again; not thinking twice the cat began to attack but Batman had trained for years and easily dodged her endeavor of striking him.

They had scrimmaged for a few moments before Batman was on top of Selina on the desk, their faces almost touching; the noise that it made caused Moon to walk to where they were.

"Hey is everything alright- holy motherfucker." Moon had utter surprised, Batman heard her chirpy voice and pulled away from Selina ignoring the other woman noticing the passport and grabbed it from Selina's hand.

"Give me that!" She whispered yelled trying to get the passport back but Batman was more intelligent than her and quickly grabbed her hand to stop her from snatching the card from him.

"Kosolov, Annika." Batman breathed finally letting his grip cease on Selina as she whined in pain twisted her hand, his gaze trailed over to the woman. "You hurt her, that's why you killed him." The caped crusader hissed at Selina who just stared at the man in confusion.

"What?" Selina arched a brow before scoffing, Moon stood silently waiting for this confusing interaction to cease so she could know what the hell was going on; footsteps echoed across the whole manner as Moon quickly hid behind a wall along with Selina and Batman who he was trying to get Selina to shut up so they wouldn't be caught.

A few moments of silence as the guard flashed his flashlight behind the wall the trio were hiding, the footsteps ceased as Moon caught her breath and gulped soundlessly; Selina spun around catching her balance.

"You have the wrong idea, alright? I didn't- we didn't kill anyone; we're here for my friend." Selina explained pausing for a moment before continuing, "She's trying to get out of Gotham and away from the son of a bitch who stole her passport."

"You gonna trust a guy in a bat suit really? And I thought you were smarter than this- OW!" Moon winced as Selina hit her on the arm very hard.

"What does she know?" Batman asked Moon, leaning in close to her; obviously afraid she backed up eyes darting all around.

"You think I know? Look, she didn't tell us... the girl couldn't even form a proper sentence." The woman had explained sarcastically, Batman clenched his jaw clearly angry that Moon couldn't provide him any information on this case.

"I remember," Batman finally said after what felt like hours of silence Moon drilled holes into the dark knight; there was something... weird about him. In fact, there weren't really words to describe how much of a creep he was. "Let's go talk to her."

After some consideration, Moon shrugged a shoulder turning to look at Selina who nodded in agreement; Batman tossed the passport over towards the cat as she quickly caught it putting the card in her pocket.

The trio arrived at the apartment and it was a mess, things thrown around and more of a mess than before; of course Moon was used to this but things were broken glass on the ground and no sign of Annika. She began to panic, shoving past Batman and Selina and began to call out for her dear friend.

"ANNIKA, ANNIKA!" Moon called out, hurriedly running around everyplace she knew in the house but still no sign not even a response; tears began to fall as she returned to the kitchen where Batman and Selina stood.

"My fault... my fault... my fault, my-" Moon couldn't help it and broke down loud ugly and when I say ugly I mean ugly sobs, Selina hugged her dear friend and tried to comfort her shushing her every five minutes.

Batman glanced down at the scattered letters that read 'final notice' looking up he seen the news was still playing and this time it wasn't about the late Mayor Mitchell, it was footage of The Riddler talking to his live stream.

"More breaking news this hour, after the tragic death of Mayor Mitchell the second high-profile murder in many nights from now."

"This time, the killer has come forward to claim credit online; Pete Savage, Commissioner of the GCPD (Gotham City Police Department) was found dead earlier tonight... the killer posted the following message which is now on every social media platform and we have to give a warning the content you are about to view is very disturbing." Not as disturbing as Grimm's Fairy Tales, Moon thought as she kept weeping muttering the words "my fault, my fault."

"Hello people of Gotham City, this is Riddler speaking; on Halloween I murdered your mayor because he was not who he claimed to be and I am done. Done with putting up with all the lies and done with the suffering." His voice was muffled with that stupid mask of his, it was intentional in order not get caught; he puts the camera towards a man in a cage with something around his neck with two small rats.

"Here is another who will be losing his face soon." The man tries to scream but the cage is sound proof and it only came out as a whimper, Moon sobs more hearing the man's screams thinking the worse about what happened to Annika she could be the victim of the Riddler or some other unknown criminal.

"I will kill again and again and again until the day of our judgement, when the truth about our city will FINALLY be unmasked; goodbye!" The stream went off as the news went on to reveal a picture of the victim, Pete Savage well his name was right; Gotham City was indeed savage.

"Commissioner Savage served a estimated thirty years-"

"Holy shit that guy looks familiar." Selina squinted her eyes to get a better view, Moon had finally stopped crying and glanced up at the television; she was right they've seen him before... Pete Savage.

"The Iceberg Lounge?" Batman asked, Moon looked up at him and shook her head getting something to drink.

"No, 44 Below." Moon clarified pouring herself more of the mysterious drink, Batman watched her carefully; every move she made he couldn't understand why but something about her interested the man a lot.

"What's that?" Batman questioned once again, Moon turned to glance at him with a grimace; her eyebrows knitted together her glance said "how the hell can you not know?"

"You don't know what 44 Below is? God you're more ignorant than I thought you would be," Moon rolled her eyes, Batman's lips twitched into a small smile at her words but quickly fell once again. "It's a club within a club I guess, it's the real club; a mob hangout."

"Is that where you work?" The dark knight interrogated, Moon didn't answer and consumed the drink she poured into the glass cup; he stepped closer to her and was standing right next to her.

"Moon," Batman remarked, her eyes trailed over to him her eyes wide but didn't say anything.

"No," Moon suppressed a laugh, "Even if I did I wouldn't tell you." Batman's lips winched into a smile.

"You both are helping me on this," Batman said turning away from Moon, "For Annika." Selina shrugged but Moon clenched her jaw shaking her head; just then there was a lot of meows heard. Glancing down, Moon seen about a dozen cats.

"You got a lot of cats." Batman interposed, Selina coughed and Moon grinned at her friend.

"She has a thing about strays~" Moon said in a flirty tone, Batman was not amused; turning his heels on but before leaving turning to look at Moon with a grimace.

"You're not safe here." Was all the dark knight said before turning around and leaving them both in the small messy apartment, Moon scoffed watching him leave.
