Elijah groaned and rubbed his neck as he began to wake up. The Mikaelson looked over at Klaus and Marcel who also seemed to be walking up.
"Well, isn't this monumentally awkward." He sighed. The male felt his dead heart drop as he noticed a familiar body that laid limp only a few feet away from him, Elijah stood quickly and rushed over to Anna who was still unconscious.
The vampire held her head in his lap as he watched her, his guess was Rebekah had snapped her neck as well. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he leaned down pressing a chaste kiss to the heretic's forehead.
Marcel watched the original and Klaus approached him laying a hand on his shoulder, "Best move on mate, not even I know what's going on between those two."
Elijah felt a small smile embed itself onto his face as the girl began to stir awake.
Anna felt a pulsing pain in her neck as she fluttered her eye lids open. The brunette tilted her head curiously as she met Elijah's gaze.
"'Lijah?"
"Welcome back Anna."
"Alright break it up before I start hurling." Klaus cut the moment between the two off short. Elijah sent a harsh glare towards his brother before standing upright again and extended a hand to help the heretic up.
Anna grasped the vampire's hand, relishing in the sparks that shot up her arm from the simple interaction.
The brunette surveyed her surroundings, "Where's Davina?" she quickly questioned.
"My sister ran off with her, but it shouldn't be long before they come scurrying back." Klaus smirked knowingly. Just as he spoke his phone began to ring. The hybrid smiled contently as he picked up the call.
"Rebekah, where are you?"
"I'm with Davina, and she's dying because of your treachery."
Anna gaped at the hybrid. What had he done now?
"Well, I tried to talk to her, out of respect for Marcel, but she made it quite clear she is not our friend. My apologies if you thought she was yours."
Annalise's anger flared up, "You son of a bitch!" the heretic aimed to launch herself at the hybrid but Elijah slipped his arms around her waist holding her tightly to him, "Calm down." he softly whispered near her ear. Anna felt a chill crawl up her spine from the sensation of being in his arms.
"Just tell me how to cure her. Vampire blood isn't working." Rebekah harshly spoke.
"No. It wouldn't. You see, the poison I compelled Timothy to feed her is quite potent. It's just a matter of time for her."
Anna couldn't believe what she was hearing. Davina was just a child, a whole life ahead of her. She didn't deserve anything that was happening to her. None of it.
"For both of them, you diabolical bastard. They're children. We could've dealt with her fairly."
"There is no dealing with those who threaten us. Davina sealed her fate when she stood against me. This was her choice, not mine." Klaus angrily hung up as he noticed the angered glares from Marcel, Elijah, and Annalise.
Elijah tightened his arms around the girl trying to contain his anger towards his brother.
Klaus rolled his eyes, "Oh, come on. The stench of your judgment is overwhelming. Need I remind you that Davina just bested the lot of us? I did what had to be done. Don't worry, Elijah. I remain as redeemable as ever."
Elijah scoffed as Anna placed her hand on his forearm, "So you compelled that boy to poison Davina without consulting Marcel or myself."
Marcel shook his head as he spoke up, "You know what the worst part is? It's that you're so predictable, I had to make an alliance with your brother, who I don't even like."
Anna curiously looked up at her soulmate who only smiled comfortingly at her.
Klaus grit his teeth, clearly not amused by the words that were just spoken, "Judging by your expression, you have something you'd like to share."
"Damn straight, I do. I got a call from Kieran earlier, right after Sabine and some witches almost got their hands on Davina first." Marcel harshly spoke at the hybrid.
Anna leaned back against Elijah's chest, the embrace had the girl feeling safer and more peaceful than she had ever felt in her entire life. She fit perfectly in his arms.
Klaus clenched his jaw, "So, when you slipped away to allegedly check on your nightwalkers, you were, in fact, colluding with a witch. That's very clever. I suppose I should be proud."
"Eh, I just wanted to make sure I had a fail-safe just in case, as Elijah expected, you started acting like you." Marcel knowingly scoffed.
"Except that now you've involved the witches, who, last time I checked, were enemy to us all, to everything we have, and to our family." Klaus finally looked over at Elijah who still had Anna in his arms.
"Davina is Marcel's family, Niklaus, or did that somehow slip your mind as you tried to take her life? You will call Rebekah. You'll tell her that Davina will recover. I do wish the same could be said for that boy."
Klaus glared at his brother before storming out of the compound.
Marcel looked over at Elijah, "Thank you."
The Mikaelson merely nodded and watched as the vampire walked out of the room.
Elijah forced himself to step away from the girl, finally releasing her from his grasp. Anna mentally frowned missing the warmth immediately.
"Are you alright?" Elijah gently questioned. Anna gave him a small smile, "I'm fine."
Elijah parted his lips but firmly closed them once again, he wanted to ask her about what she had told Davina but decided against it. He would wait for her to feel comfortable enough to tell him.
Elijah turned his attention towards Rebekah who had just entered the compound with a sleeping Davina in her arms.
Marcel quickly re-entered the room as he strolled over to the blonde, "Is she okay?"
"She's devastated and exhausted. Where's her room?"
Marcel shakes his head and holds his arms out, "No. I got her. I got her." he takes the witch and walks away.
Rebekah turned meeting the eyes of Annalise.
Elijah glances back at the heretic one last time before disappearing to the second floor.
"I'm sorry for snapping your neck." the blonde muttered. Anna brightly smiled, "No worries Bekah. No hard feelings."

In the compound's bar room, Annalise walks in to find Elijah still poring over Davina's sketches. He starts sorting the various sketches out and begins arranging them in a pattern on the coffee table.
"What's got your attention?" The heretic curiously tilted her head as she approached the vampire. Elijah sighed as he looked at the artwork, "Davina's sketches. I wonder if they represent some kind of premonition. They seem to suggest something is coming. Something sinister."
Elijah finally finished arranging the sketches, revealing that they are one big sketch of a very familiar looking woman's face. It's Celeste, Elijah's former lover. Anna and Elijah both recognize her, "Bloody hell, isn't that-"
"Celeste."
