"I'm positive Nik did something to him." Anna said. She was on the phone with Rebekah who was on her way to New Orleans.
"I don't bloody doubt it, what makes you say though?"
Annalise's jaw hanged slightly open, what was she supposed to say? Oh the girl felt him get daggered through their soulmate bond or whatever the hell it was to be called.
"Elijah promised to protect me and by the next hour he disappeared, last I checked he doesn't give his word lightly." The heretic said instead.
"Mhm, that is true. Wait for me to get there to confront Nik."
"I'll try."
The girl then hung up placing her phone on the her dresser and walked downstairs where Hayley was reading a book on the armchair.
"How are you doing?" the brunette asked the werewolf as she passed her.
Hayley closed her book and got up following Anna into the kitchen. "I'm doing fine, but where did Elijah go?"
"Your asking the wrong person love." the heretic said as she placed water to boil on the stove.
The pregnant werewolf took a seat on a stool that was near the counter and faced the Martin girl, "I have a one question. Are you a witch or vampire?"
Anna turned around with a grin, "How about both?"
Hayley furrowed her brows, "You're a type of hybrid?"
"Heretic to be precise." the girl corrected while taking a small box out from a cabinet as well as a spoon.
"That's an interesting mix." Hayley said. Anna chuckled as she poured the boiling water into a small white mug, the girl placed a chamomile tea bag into the cup and set it in front of Hayley.
The werewolf eyed it before picking it up slowly.
"I'm not going to poison you darling, no need to worry." Annalise told the weary girl as she placed the dirty dishes in the sink.
"Thanks." Hayley mumbled sipping on the tea.
"No worries." the brunette smiled, she heard a car door shut close and muttered complaining.
The Martin witch chuckled knowing it was a certain blonde.
Hayley stood and walked towards the front door, Anna following behind the werewolf.
"Who the hell are you?" Hayley questioned the vampire that just walked in.
"Oh, you must be the maid. My bags are in the car, get them, will you?"
Anna appeared with a smile that was holding in a laugh.
"Hello. Not the maid." Hayley wryly said.
Anna shook her head at her best friend who rolled her eyes.
"Right. You're that werewolf girl my brother, Klaus, knocked up. I was expecting to see some kind of supernatural, miracle baby bump. Guess you're not showing yet. It's Hayley, isn't it?"
"You have your brother's manners."
"And his temper, too, so watch it. Anna, I believe we have some questioning to do." Rebekah said as she turned towards the brunette.
"After you." Annalise smirked.
"Klaus! Get out here and tell me what you've done with our brother, you narcissistic, back-stabbing wanker!"
Anna laughed as the hybrid finally appeared, "Enough with all the shouting. Little sister, I should have known. I assume the six dead vampires were your doing?"
Rebekah crossed her arms, "They were very rude."
Annalise leaned on a mini table listening to the blonde.
"Trying to victimize a poor, innocent girl just trying to find her way to the Quarter. So sorry, were they friends of yours?"
"No but they were my friends little minions. Marcel. You remember him, don't you? Yes, of course you do. He fancies himself the 'King of the Quarter' now, and he has these rules about killing vampires. It'll be fun to see what sort of punishment he comes up with for you." Klaus grinned.
"Stop avoiding the question, where is Elijah?" Anna sharply said.
Klaus turned towards her, "Oh that's right, you two fancy each other now. Well that's just a pity isn't it? Perhaps he's on holiday... or taking a long autumn nap upstairs." he turned towards Rebekah, "Well, go on. Take a look around. You remember this house as well as I."
The blonde clenched her jaw, "I remember everything."
Klaus rolls his eyes knowing what his sister was thinking about, "Well, he wasn't good enough for you."
"No one was ever good enough for me, Nik, you made sure of that. Now where is Elijah?"
Klaus opens his mouth to speak but his phone begins to buzz, the hybrid checks it and goes to leave,
"Where are you going?" Anna said, she needed to find Elijah.
"It appears the night is not quite over, yet. I'm off for another drink with Marcel."
"Elijah told me about your plan to take apart Marcel's empire piece by piece. I don't remember it involving you two drinking New Orleans dry together." Rebekah scoffed.
"I know you don't have many friends, Rebekah, but what some friends do when they get together is they drink. And when they drink, they tell secrets. Marcel has somehow found a way to control the entirety of witches in the Quarter, and I aim to uncover the 'how' so I might take it for myself. Finding Elijah didn't make my to-do list today."
The hybrid walked to the front door but turned before leaving, "Oh, and welcome home, little sister." he walks out and Rebekah looks annoyed.
"Fine then, I'll scower this place for him myself." Anna pressed her lips firmly together.
Rebekah turned towards Hayley, "You, wolf girl. Anna and I are going to search this house inch by inch until I find what my evil brother has done to my good one. You're helping."
The three girls walk down a spiraled staircase.
"The governor had lots of secret rooms. I'll show you two his favorite."
They arrive in a dusty, cobwebbed cellar room. Hayley spies the coffins that Klaus keeps his siblings daggered in.
"You think Klaus killed him." she said more than asked.
"They can't be killed." Anna told her as she looked around the old room.
"But that doesn't stop Klaus from finding ways to torture us. He has a set of mystical silver daggers. One in the heart sends us into a deep slumber. Klaus gets his jollies from keeping us in a box, until he decides to pull the dagger out. That must be what he's done to Elijah. This one's mine." Rebekah explained as she placed her hand on her coffin.
Hayley held a face of disgust, "He keeps your coffin on standby."
"He likes to be prepared for when his family members inevitably disappoint him." the blonde vampire turned towards Annalise, "Elijah's isn't here, he must've stashed him elsewhere."
"I feel sick." Hayley clutched her stomach.
"Welcome to the family, love. Should have ran the moment Klaus got involved."
"Yeah well, the witches have put some sort of hex on me. As long as I'm carrying this baby, I can't leave New Orleans. If I do, they kill me."
"And none of you tried asking Anna? She can preform basically any spell needed." Rebekah crossed her arms.
"Marcel has a way of knowing when a witch performs magic, I am no exception to that rule. And perhaps it will do us a favor instead." Anna explained.
"What do you mean?" Rebekah furrowed her brows.
"Bekah, I wanted to ask if it would be alright with you but I was thinking of acting like a touring vampire and talk with Marcel. I'm sure he knows my true name since Klaus talked to him about me but if I can get on his good side, perhaps I could very well find Elijah."
"And his secret weapon that controls the witch's." Hayley added.
"Right, and that."
"Anna, you don't need to act like your doing something to hurt me. You're my best friend, just find Elijah."
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ──────»
Anna walks into a bar where Marcel and Klaus are drinking. The hybrid's eyes widened seeing the girl here.
Marcel eyes her with curious eyes, "Seems as if more tourists are coming into town." the vampire said.
"A shot of tequila, it's been a long night." Anna ordered.
The bartender chuckled, "Coming right up."
"You boys watching me for a specific reason or...?" Anna trailed off as she turned to face them.
"Just never seen you around here before." Marcel told her.
"Well you can't very well know everyone in the quarter now can you?"
"I own the quarter."
Anna's lips quirked up into a smile, "Interesting. And what about you?" she turned looking at Niklaus.
"Here having a drink with an old friend." the hybrid basically grit out.
"Can't be that old I'm sure."
"You'd be surprised." Marcel smiled at her. The vampire looked suddenly intrigued with the unknown girl.
"I'll see you around little lady." The vampire said as he walked out. Klaus basically stormed to her side.
"What the bloody hell do you think your doing?" he ushered.
"If you won't tell me where Elijah is, I can find out by myself since I already have a guess at where he's at."
"If Marcel finds out-"
"Calm down, the moment before I wasn't Anna. I was Amber." the heretic sarcastically smiled.
"Marcel knows all about you Anna."
"Yeah well whose fault was that? Yapping your mouth away for a couple decades about me to him, let's just be grateful he doesn't know what I look like. Now if you'll excuse me, I have trust to gain."
The brunette walked out the bar and down the streets of the quarter in quiet a hurry.
She turned a corner rather sharply and bumped into something or rather someone. "Bloody hell," the girl muttered before looking up and of course it was none other than Marcel.
"I'm sorry, I was walking kinda fast." Marcel apologized.
"No worries, nothing that won't heal." Anna kindly smiled.
Marcel narrowed his eyes and pursed his lips, he grabbed the girl and slammed her back onto the wall of a building, "You aren't human are you?"
"Well if I was, you might've just killed an innocent person." the heretic groaned.
"I thought you were welcoming to incoming vampires." she raised a brow.
Marcel eyed the brunette before he let her go, "Gotta be sure about who's in my town, so your a vampire. What's your name?"
"Amber."
"Lovely name, listen I'm sorry about that I have many people I'm weary about staying in town so I guess I'm on edge."
"If you don't mind me asking, who?"
"The Mikaelson's, I'm sure you've heard of them." Marcel told her.
"Ah yes, the original family of vampires. What are they doing here?" Annalise played dumb.
"That's what I would like to find out." Marcel said before his phone started ringing.
"Yeah?"
"Just got a tip, someone saw a werewolf in Bienville Park." the caller said.
Anna clenched her fists, it had to be Hayley.
"Get a couple night-walkers to run it down. Bring me back its head."
"Well aren't you charming." Anna said since she was listening in.
"Werewolves aren't allowed in the quarter. Look I've some work to do, I'll see you around." Marcel kindly smiled at her.
The girl nodded and the vampire was gone. She began walking towards the Mikaelson house in a hurry. What had Hayley gotten herself into?
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ──────»
Klaus throws a final body onto a small pile in the front courtyard while he berates Rebekah and Hayley for their behavior. Anna sat on the steps of the porch listening.
"This is why I told you never to leave the house. Werewolves are banned in the Quarter. I had a plan, and your little nighttime stroll put it all in peril!" The hybrid noticed Rebekah walking towards the pile where one vampire was still alive so he shouted, "Leave him!"
The blonde stopped walking.
"You've done enough, don't you think? Leaving a trail of bodies like a road map to my door?"
Rebekah scowled at her brother, "If I hadn't overheard this lot bragging about werewolf heads, everyone here would be screwed. And don't give me that crap about having a plan. You've had all the time in the world to execute a plan, and no one's seen you do a damn thing! Elijah made a deal to protect your child, so that it could save you from your selfish, rotten self. But you obviously don't give a damn about the child or Elijah, because what have you done to honor it?"
Klaus clenched his jaw, "I have done everything. Let me spell it out for you, shall I? From the day I arrived, Marcel hasn't trusted me. From Day One, he's had his vampires ingest toxic vervain which, as you know, little sister, protects them from my mind control."
He continued, "I needed a spy, someone on the inside with me who Marcel would never suspect. So, I created a Day Zero and got there first. Marcel had just lost six vampires, thanks to your little murder spree, and he needed new recruits. So, I made the new one mine, before he'd had even a drop of vervain."
The hybrid grabs the vampire that was still alive, "And this one, I'm gonna drain him of vervain, compel him to believe his mates found religion and moved to Utah, so that he can explain to Marcel why he lost three more vampires tonight."
He dragged the body into the house as the three girls followed him.
"Does anyone have any more questions? No? Good, because I have a question. Hayley, what were you doing in the bloody French Quarter in the first place? Answer me!"
Hayley flinched at the tone he used.
"Leave her Nik." Anna narrowed her eyes.
Hayley glared at Klaus, "You wanna know what I was doing? I was buying poison, so I could put your little baby out of its misery."
The hybrid speeds over and grabs the werewolf by her neck, beginning to choke her.
Annalise rips his arm away from the pregnant girl, "Are you completely nuts? She's pregnant for gods sake."
Rebekah stood in front of her brother, "All of this bluster about not wanting the child, and then the second she tells you she's ready to get rid of it? It's okay to care. It's okay to want something. That's all Elijah was trying to do, all he's ever wanted for you. All we've ever wanted."
"I gave Elijah to Marcel." Klaus tiredly said as he sat on the stairs.
Anna looked down, she wanted to believe what she thought was wrong but sadly she was not.
"What?" Rebekah sputtered out.
"Marcel was nervous. It's bad enough one Original returned to town, but two? His crew was getting antsy. He wanted Elijah gone, so... I gave him a peace offering."
"He's your brother Klaus, and you give him up like some sort of trophy." Anna gave the hybrid an icy glare.
"You bartered our brother?!" Rebekah was furious.
"I have a plan. Gain Marcel's trust, dismantle his empire, honor Elijah's wish that that baby be born. I am executing that plan the only way I know how. If you don't like it, there's the door. See if I care." Klaus rose and left the room leaving Anna and Rebekah to their thoughts.
The two girls sit on the porch as Hayley walks out to join them.
The werewolf looked at Annalise, "I know we haven't known each other for long... but I wanted to thank you for what you did back there."
"Don't mention it." the heretic merely said.
"Us girls have to stick together." Rebekah chimed in.
Hayley looked at the blonde as she took a seat on a chair, "What is it with you two? You say you hate him, but the way you deal with him, it's so clear. Even when you hate him, you still love him."
"I guess when you spend a thousand years with someone, deciding to quit them is like losing a part of yourself. But sometimes the hate is just... so powerful. Emil wasn't the only boyfriend of mine that Klaus killed. He did it again, and again, and every time I found someone to care about. He just kept doing it until, finally, I stopped falling in love. He said he was protecting me from my mistakes, that no one was ever good enough for his little sister. Until one day, someone was."
Anna smiled sadly at her friend knowing she was talking about the King of New Orleans.
"If you two know Marcel has Elijah, why don't you just get him back yourselves?" Hayley asked the two girls.
"Marcel must have hid him so either way it isn't going to be easy to find him." the brunette sighed.
"And if I cross my brother, there's still a coffin downstairs with my name on it." Rebekah said shortly after.
Hayley eyes Rebekah for a moment, then reaches down and retrieves something wrapped in cloth. She unfolds it and reveals the two silver daggers.
"Oh, my god." the blonde breathed.
Anna raised her brows.
"I found them under your coffin. So, if a couple of antique steak knives were the only things stopping you from getting Elijah back, then here you go."
The two girls smiled at each other.
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ──────»
Anna walks into the bar where Marcel was waiting for her. She fakely smiled and walked over to him.
"I sent everyone else home. I am your humble host."
"Do you mean compelled?" Anna raised a brow as she took a seat in front of him.
Marcel chuckled, "Yeah."
"Vampire perks am I right?"
"Right you are." the vampire smiled as he poured her some wine.
"So, how's running a city going for you?" Anna questioned as she sipped her wine.
"Good I guess you can say, though I am losing more vampires." Marcel told her.
"Why's that?"
"I'm guessing someone's killing them off, I have a good thought about who."
Suddenly the doors of the restaurant swing wide open and Rebekah bursts inside.
Anna had to fake surprise. They planned this all out.
"You lied to me. Where's my brother?"
"Hello to you too. Amber, Rebekah- Rebekah Amber."
Rebekah was finding it difficult to keep an angered expression with Anna there, but she couldn't blow her friends cover.
"Since when did you have a thing for brunette's?" the blonde questioned her ex lover.
"What's wrong with brunette's?" Anna pouted.
Rebekah grabbed Marcel by the neck and slammed him against the wall.
"Where's Elijah." the original grit out.
Anna almost forgot she was supposed to be helping Marcel. The girl sped and ripped Rebekah's arm away making her stumble a bit.
"That's not very nice of you now is it?"
"Stay out of this before I feed you your own heart." Rebekah seethed. She was finding this hard to accomplish.
"Amber, I would not anger her." Marcel said as he stood in front of her.
Anna rolled her eyes when the vampire wasn't looking.
"Tell me where he is or I will kill you!" the blonde shouted.
The two stared at each other for a moment before Marcel said, "No you won't"
Anna knew her friend wouldn't kill him but she happily would if it meant Elijah was returned to her.
"Perhaps your right." Rebekah said, Anna braced herself for what was about to come.
The blonde vamp-sped and grabbed the heretic by the throat, pinning her against the wall.
"But I will kill her."
"Let her go. You won. I'll take you to see Elijah." Marcel quickly said.
Anna wanted to laugh but compressed it, "Why doesn't she come along, she is a vampire after all so there's nothing to hide." Rebekah tilted her head as she threw Anna towards Marcel who caught her.
The heretic hated this.
"Fine, as long as you don't hurt her."
"No promises." the blonde lied.
"I'll take you to see him. Come on." Marcel walked out the bar with Annalise near him and Rebekah behind them.
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ──────»
Marcel opens the door to an attic with Anna by his side as Rebekah trailed behind. He walked in but neither Annalise or the original could walk in.
The heretic was overjoyed to see Elijah's coffin there, she could feel her body pulling her towards him.
"Davina go ahead and invite Amber and Rebekah in." Marcel called out.
A young girl walked out and nodded, "You can come in."
The two stepped inside and Anna almost forgot she was playing a role, so she walked over to Marcel's side.
Rebekah rushes over to the coffin and opens it, she tries to pull the dagger out.
"I wouldn't do that." Davina said.
Rebekah was being magically compelled to put the dagger back in.
Anna's eyes widened, what the hell?
"Who the hell are you?" the blonde questioned the girl.
Davina turned towards Marcel, "She's an old one, isn't she?"
"Yeah. Rebekah is an Original, which means she can't be killed."
"She doesn't seem very nice." Davina tilted her head.
"She can be... but she hasn't been very nice to me tonight."
The witch turns towards the blonde, "Then I'm afraid it's time for you to leave."
Without having to move, Davina magically propels Rebekah across the room, slamming her against walls several times before sending her through a door, which shuts behind her.
Anna gaped at the scene. Just what type of witch is this girl?
"Her too?" Davina asked looked at the heretic.
"No, she's a friend of mine."
"You're a witch right?" Anna asked, she obviously knew but she had to be sure.
Davina nodded.
"But... I've never seen a witch with that much power." the brunette gaped.
"Davina's a special case." Marcel told her.
"Oh...."
"Look, I am so sorry for what happened tonight. I'll make it up to you and why don't I walk you home?" Marcel apologized to her.
Anna was too busy clicking things in her mind at the moment, "No it's fine, I can get home by myself. I'll see you around." she awkwardly smiled before quickly walking out of that attic.
Davina secretly wiped her mind of her location. But the teenage girl furrowed her brows.
What type of vampire had mind barriers that strong?
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ──────»
Rebekah awoke in the bed of her old room from 1887. She squinted her eyes as she looked around.
Marcel at that moment walked in, "Welcome back, Rebekah. You were out for quite a while."
"Where am I? How'd I get here?" the Mikaelson questioned.
"You upset Davina. I'm glad you two finally got to meet. Now you know what you're dealing with." Marcel said.
Rebekah remembered Anna there too but figured she was fine.
"Is this my room?" she instead said.
"Oh, it's mine now. Just like this town is mine, Davina's mine, and Elijah is mine until I feel like giving him back. What was once yours, what was once your brother's, it's now mine." the vampire sneered.
He went to walk out but stopped, turning back to Rebekah to say, "And don't ever touch Amber again."
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ──────»
Rebekah walked into the Mikaelson mansion only to be met with Klaus.
"Oh bloody hell. Anna's a great actress, because of her I was able to see where the secret weapon of his that you've been going on about."
Klaus crossed his arms, "Well, don't stand on ceremony. What is it?"
"It's not a 'what', it's a 'who'. A girl, Davina. She can't be more than sixteen, and I have never felt power like that."
"A witch." Klaus said. Anna burst through the front door, "She can't be just any witch, her power, it's not something a regular witch has. Not even most Elders have that much power. She has to have drawn magic from other witch's or something like that. And now she has Elijah."
"Where is she?" the hybrid asked looking between Rebekah and Anna.
"That clever bitch. I don't know." the blonde muttered.
"What's wrong?"
"Davina wiped our minds of the location, with the difference that I allowed her to."
"And why would you even allow that?" Klaus narrowed his eyes.
"If Davina saw that she couldn't get into my mind completely, she would know something was up. I blocked off my mind that had anything to do with you all and me also being a witch, I'm sure she even realized the strength of it."
"So now we don't even know where she is. Wonderful! Marcel possesses a weapon bigger and more powerful than an Original, and you handed our brother to him! How many times will Elijah forgive you? How long until his hope for your redemption finally dies?" Rebekah shouted at her older brother.
"I did what I had to do! Marcel took our home!"
"And our home is worthless without family." Rebekah yelled.
"We are going to find Elijah, are you going to help us?" Anna tilted her head.
"Whatever it takes."
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ──────»
Anna walked out to the porch, the girl took a deep breathe to calm her nerves.
Wind blew making the air feel breezy. The Martin witch crossed her arms and started to slightly shake.
The guilt was starting to eat her up again.
