At night when Nandini slept, Alya got up from bed an went out of the room without disturbing her.

"Alya?" Aryaman called her.

"Yes, me. Is everything ready? And where is Manik?" She asked nodding her head.

Manik came from her back. "I'm here."

Alya smirked seeing Manik as her gaze moved from his head to toe. "Wow, Manik! You are looking extra handsome today."

Manik glared at Alya. He was about to give her a befitting reply but Mukti jumped in between stopping them. "Guys, come on. It's only 30 minutes left to 12. We all are going to terrace." Then she turned towards Manik. "Manik, you go and get Nandini to terrace. We are waiting there for you both."

Manik nodded his head overlooking their teasing looks. "Okay."

Manik slowly enter into Alya's room where Nandini was sleeping. He went and sit in front of Nandini on the floor. Nandini was looking beautiful while sleeping. Manik didn't feel like waking her up. He felt like keep staring at her face till the end of his life. He removed some of her hair strands from her forehead.

Manik moved his finger from her forehead to her cheeks. Nandini held his hand tightly. She went back to her deep slumber holding Manik's hand only. Manik again did the same with his other hand. This time feeling ticklish Nandini opened her eyes.

Nandini got up screaming seeing Manik so close to her.

Manik closed Nandini's mouth with his hand to stop her. "Don't shout else everyone else will come here. You don't want that, right?"

Nandini was looking at Manik with her big doe eyes which were more widened with the shock now. Hearing Manik's word, she came out of her trance and looked at Manik's hand which were still on her face. Following Nandini's gaze, Manik hurriedly removed his hand from her mouth.

Nandini gulped down her saliva and calmed down herself. "Manik, what are you doing here at this hour? What if someone saw you? Alya is here only." That time she remembered of Alya. She turned to her side but it was empty. She again turned back to Manik. "Where is Alya?"

Manik nodded his head in disbelief seeing Nandini. He put his one finger on her lips. "Shhhhh. Nandini. Can't you speak a little softer? You will wake everyone up."

Nandini pouted hearing her. "Fine. I won't say anything right now." She kept quiet for a while, then she again spoke. "By the way what are you doing here, Manik? And where is Alya? Did you send her anywhere?"

Manik didn't hear a word of Nandini. He was lost in her with a smile on his face. With the messed up hair and in the dim light she was looking so beautiful. He was not able to move his gaze away from her. Her innocence totally captivated him.

When Manik didn't speak anything for a long time, Nandini moved her hands in front of him to break his trance. "Manik, are you even hearing me? Where are you lost? You didn't say anything to me yet."

Manik came out of his trance and shook his head a little. "Hmm." He moved his face close to Nandini and kissed in her cheek, "Happy Birthday, Nandini. Many many happy returns of the day."

Nandini froze on her place with the sudden kiss. Then Nandini remembered today's date that it was her birthday. It had totally slipped out of her mind. But she was amused thinking that Manik still remembers her birthday.

This time Manik shook her a little. "Now where did you get lost?"

Nandini looked at Manik's face, to be more precise into his eyes. "You still remember my birthday?"

Manik caressed Nandini's face softly staring at her dreamily. "How can I forget your birthday? No one forgets the most important day of their life." He muttered the last line in a low tone so that Nandini could not hear him. Manik again moved close to Nandini and kissed on her other cheek making Nandini blush to the deepest shade of red.

Then Manik made Nandini stand and gave her a packet. Nandini gave him a confused look. "What's this?"

Manik placed his finger on her lips to stop her. "Shh. Just go and change."

Nandini stared at Manik for a while but didn't argue further. She knows it will be if no use. So, she just took the packet and went to change.

She came out after changing and she was looking so pretty, Manik forgot to breath for a while. She liked more beautiful than he had imagined.

He moved close to her and pulled her close to him. Nandini was not able to meet his strong gaze which always take her breath away.

"Now I know angles are here in earth as well. They do get descended from the heaven to here."

Manik's comment made Nandini blush more.

Manik's phone beeped with a message which broke their trance. "Let's go."

Nandini frowned. "Where?"

"Surprise."

That mere word made her excited. She jumped out at her place as a bright smile came on her face. "Really? What's it? You know I love surprises. Let's go. I can't wait for it."

"Wait." Manik stopped Nandini as she was all ready to walk out of the room.

Before Nandini could realize anything, Manik picked Nandini up in his arms. Nandini shrieked loudly with his sudden move and was shocked because she was not expecting him to do something like this.

"Manik, what are you doing?"

"It's important. Knowing you well, I can surely say that you will spoil the surprise for sure, if I don't pick you up."

Nandini looked at him with wide eyes. "What me?"

Manik started walking with Nandini in his arms. "Of course, you. You can't walk in the broad daylight, then how can you walk in this light? You will trip into something and fell down. Then you will get hurt on your birthday and I don't want that."

"What nonsense? Do you want to say I don't know how to walk? How dare you!!!" She narrowed her gaze. 

Manik laughed at her statement.

"Shut up, Manik. I didn't say any jokes. Put me down. I don't want to come with you." Nandini was moving her legs frequently and she was trying to get down but Manik held her more tightly close to himself so that Nandini can't get down.

Manik threw a fake glare to Nandini. "Shh... Quiet. Stay in the same position. Don't move." 

Nandini didn't say anything further but kept on blushing looking at Manik. Manik could feel that Nandini is staring at him but he didn't say anything. He again started walking towards terrace.
