"YOU KIDNAPPED ME BEFORE MY OWN PARTY? WOHOO!"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Finch began to explain her history to Alaric (or rather Niklaus in Alarics body).
"Sugar Shifters have always been a peculiar bunch. In the sense that we've always caused problems with everyone. Guess we have a knack for pissing people off. Which I'm happy to report is well instilled in me!" She exclaimed.
Klaric nods in turn. Silently thinking about just how true that statement was.
"Witches were enemies to sugar shifters till their numbers began declining rapidly due to vampires— Witches originally did not like sugar shifters since they used to have to consume human blood to survive, till manufactured sugar came around and became their main source of energy. But the witches hid them with spells once the vampires began to purge them,"
"Purge?"
"Apparently all the sugar we consume makes us extra sweet tasting to vampires so you can assume how that goes over with a species not used to being told no." She deadpanned.
"Our history books state that Vampires got along fine with Sugar Shifters. There was never much interaction between the two creatures till two fell in love.
He drank from her (as vampires usually did to their partners as a form of intimacy) but he found himself unable to stop. Killing her. Much to his dismay, he tells others what occurred before...committing, not wanting to live without his love." Finch took a breath before continuing.
"This sparked curiosity about their blood. Which started the beginning of the end for Sugar Shifters ample population." She says, in a melancholy tone.
"Werewolves and Sugar Shifters don't have much history. But they have been known to be unproblematic and rather ideal lovers, as Sugar Shifters are not immortal but have longer life spans, are more durable than humans, allowing a more... intimate relationship." She admits albeit a bit awkwardly.
"Anything else?" Klaric asked intently, sitting on the edge of the couch. This was new to him. He had never come across a sugar shifter before.
He had heard legends, specifically around the taste of their blood...but nothing more.
"Sugar Shifters are always female. It is impossible for a male sugar shifter to be born unless they had massive genetic issues." Finch informed after a moment of consideration.
"How's that possible? I thought it was up to the genetic sequencing," Klaric asked intently, wanting to learn everything he can while in a position to hear it from a first hand source.
"We have a ritual for offspring. We don't get pregnant as humans do." Finch supplied.
"We prick each others fingers before pressing them together. Allowing their genetic material to mix, the mixture of blood drops into a seashell that foams. It was originally meant for only sugar shifters but as we began to mix with werewolves and humans, some do take the human method." She explained.
"Your culture is rich," Klaric can't help the words that escape his lips. The nickname 'love,' on the tip of his tongue. But he withholds it for the sake of his cover.
"Thanks." She smiled brightly. He can't help the similar smile that tugs at the corner of 'his' lips.
"Alright. Well I better head out and get ready for Caroline's party," She reluctantly sighed.

As Finch walked down the road and away from Alarics apartment. She heard the patter of feet behind her.
She turned but didn't see anyone. Frowning, she continued onward.... Long story short, she gets kidnapped.
Although she's not quite sure how it all happened, memory fuzzy, it did happen. Which she knew for sure considering her dark surroundings and tied up wrists.
"Ha! Ha! Yes! You kidnapped me before my own party? WOHOO! —
Oh but Caroline's gonna be so upset if I don't show up... I changed my mind! Let me go!"
"Yeah that's not how it works around here sweetheart,"
