"I'VE NEVER MET A PROBLEM THAT MORE SUGAR COULDN'T SOLVE."
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Finch sat on top of a high shelf. Her leg lazily swinging back and forth. Her right leg dangling off the side of the mahogany based shelves.
Damon walked into the Salvatore library and rolled his eyes when he spotted Finch lounging about like she owned the place.
He cupped his hands around his lips to enunciate and amplify his voice.
"Finch get down here! We got a problem!" Damon shouted up at her.
Finch rolled her eyes before lying down. Chucking the book down towards Damon' head.
She chuckled when she heard his yelp of pain.
She turned her head to the side. Leaning off the edge in order to peak down at his leering form.
"Enough, Pixie Stix." He rubbed his head as he spoke with a light wince.
Finch rolled her eyes at his nickname. It wasn't very original. He only called her that because of what she was.
"Ugh. My ancestors were right to hate vampires. Not only do they suck blood but they just plain suck," She grumbled unhappily. Dramatically laying an arm across her face, covering her eyes.
Damon rolled his eyes and smiled smugly before flicking the light switch on.
Finch let out a loud hissing noise as the protruding light hit her blue eyes.
"Fuck you, blood sucker!" Finch cried out in annoyance as she rolled over.
Quickly falling off the shelf, falling through the air at swift speeds from a height of nearly twenty feet.
Damon went to catch her, only for her to freeze mid air, a mere foot above him.
She let out a laugh as she floated about happily.
Damon grumpily let his arms fall back down to his sides. Pretending that he wasn't at least a little worried that she'd hit the ground.
She continued to float in circles above him teasingly like a vulture while he begrudgingly accepted that he wouldn't win the silent argument.
Suddenly someone yelled out. "Finch!" Startling the sugar crazed girl.
Causing her to fall the rest of the way down. Letting out a loud groan of pain as she rolled into her side on the floor. Damon had speed out of the way, just in the nick of time, in order to not get hit.
"Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry," Bonnie exclaimed as she rushed in. She had simply called for the girl cause she was looking for her.
Finch let out another dramatic groan. She stuck up her right hand with a thumbs up.
"'Twas nothing but a scratch," Finch assured the witch, jokingly.
Bonnie rolled her eyes but moved to help her up.
"Rose is about to start talking," Bonnie informed Damon while heaving Finch up right.
Damon gave a short nod to the powerful witch before speeding off into the living room.
"You know, no matter how much I hate vampires. I don't think I'll ever be able to hate that super speed. I just wish I could speed around and not have to walk," Finch grumbled.
Bonnie rolled her eyes at her dramatics. "You can fly, fairy girl." Bonnie retorted easily.
Finch let out a groan of exasperation. "Ugh. Yeah but I still wanna speed around like the flash,"
"Whatever. Let's go see what Rosetta wants," Finch mumbles begrudgingly.
"That's not my name," Rose informed the girl as soon as they walked into the Salvatore's living room.
"That doesn't matter to me," Finch easily answered. With a dismissive wave of her hand.
"Ignore the grumpy pixie over there and talk," Damon demands outright. Taking Rose' attention off the brunette and onto him.
"Klaus, I know is real." She stated sternly with a stoic look on her face.
"Well i'd kinda hope so for your sake. Other wise you spent over a hundred years running from nothing but a fairy tale," Finch mumbled from her spot on the couch.
Her head resting in the doppelgänger's lap as Elena mindlessly played with Finch's hair.
"You'd know all about fairy tales wouldn't you?" Rose said snarling at the brunette.
Finch went to get up only for Elena to hold her back. Continuing to mess around with the girls hair to calm her.
"Don't get worked up over her," Elena whispered to Finch. The girl begrudgingly listened and began to tune them out while Elena began to speak to Rose.
Finch feels her eyelids become heavy, a wave of tiredness washing over her. She was crashing.
Elena continued to gently play with Finches hair as Finch fell into an involuntary sleep. Soft snores leaving her mouth as she did.
Elena continued to question Rose but softer than before.
"You don't have to whisper, sleeping beauty over there can't hear you when she's crashing from a sugar high," Damon reprimanded slightly and Elena merely shot him a heavy scowl.
He put his hands up in mock surrender before questioning or more accurately put, mocking Rose.
Finch felt her body begin to wake as she attempted to peel her eyelids open. She quickly realized that she was in a different position than before she fell asleep which worried her.
Till she heard Stefan's voice. "Relax, Elena had to go to the bathroom. You're fine," He muttered softly as to not spook the waking girl.
Finch can feel herself physically relax but her mind is still alert. "Where's Rosetta Stone?" She mumbled cautiously.
Finch was a soft woman, who Caroline often described as having her heart branded on her sleeve.
But when it came to strangers or people she didn't trust then Finch was as frightful as a bird. She would ran away quickly from anything that bothered her like potential new friends.
"She left a few minutes ago. Do you need some water?" He asked as Finch finally began to feel her fingers gain movement.
"Mmm. No, I'm okay." She told him feeling movement regain in her neck and she used it nuzzle herself further into his chest in order to be more comfortable.
Stefan let out a displeased sigh but nodded in silent agreement.
"Are you still tired?" He asked, knowing how fatigued she felt after a sugar crash.
"Mhmm. So be a good little pillow and stay," She mumbled softly allowing her eyes to close.
"Okay..." Stefan said simply.
Elena entered the room and sent him a smile. He sent one back before allowing his own eyes to close.
He was honestly beginning to feel tired too now that he was laying there with Finch.
Though vampires couldn't get physically fatigued easily, they could still become mentally weak and want a break from it all with some sleep.
Stefan feels his own hair being messed with and he peeks one eye open to see Elena standing behind him.
His head leaning against the couch arm with Elena standing there messing with his hair gently.
He let out a small laugh but quickly attempted to stop as he remembered that Finch was sleeping on him.
Suddenly their soft moments that had been filled with comforting silence were broken by someone swinging the door open.
It quickly woke the girl and she quickly tore herself from Stefan's grasp to stand.
"Down I go—" Finch said as she felt the pressure hit her legs.
As soon as she stood, her legs gave out, still not ready to be up after her previous sugar crash. Causing her to tumble to the ground.
Finch tiredly tore her flattened face off the wooden floor. Grunting as she stared up at the blonde.
It was only Caroline at the door which made Finch relax a bit as she recognized the girl.
"Oh yay?" She mumbled.
Caroline huffed at her response.
"Finch be more happy to see me," She whined jokingly.
"Sorry— I love you Carrolineeee," Finch replied sarcastically while pushing her arms down to get herself up.
She was quickly helped up by Stefan and Elena. Each holding onto her arm.
"Thanks," She mumbled tiredly, bringing one hand up to rub her eye.
"What's up Carolyn?"
"Not my name," Caroline deadpanned to her friend.
"Not that I care," Finch replied while moving away from the two.
Caroline only sent her a smile. "Well you should cause your amazing friend Caroline has planned a wonderland of a party for your birthday!"
Finch winced but they didn't see since she was faced away from them.
Finch put a sweet smile on her face and turned back to them. "Well hopefully it won't end with me getting sent to the psyche ward," Finch told him.
Caroline scoffed. "That was one time. And you're the one who got drunk," She defended.
"Yeah. Which is why I'm never touching alcohol again. It tastes nasty anyway," Finch says moving to grab her coat from the kitchen table.
"I'm going to see Alaric," Finch informed the group and Caroline frowned.
"Okay but come back soon. We need to figure out who you want as guests and who's not invited," Caroline responded.
"Well Dana isn't allowed to go. Even if I die. Don't let that bitch show her face at the funeral, I'm serious." Finch told them sternly, pointing at them accusingly, one by one to ensure they got the message.
"Yep! Got it," Caroline confirmed with a nod.
Finch gave Caroline a brief hug before heading over to the now sitting couple. Giving them both a hug, while also giving Elena a kiss on the forehead.
"See ya Lena and Stefano," She muttered.
"That bitch Dana-Lana stole the last chicken nuggets on the lunch line," Finch muttered bitterly before heading out the door.
"But there's nothin a visit to Alaric and some sugar can't solve," Finch said with a shrug. Standing in the doorway with the door left open.
"Finch take it easy, you just crashed," Stefan said worriedly.
She shrugged carelessly. "I've never meet a problem more sugar couldn't solve,"
Elena narrowed her eyes. "I love ya' Finch but you need to be careful. I don't think I could handle if our resident sugar shifter died suddenly,"
Finch sent Elena a wink. "Oh I could never leave you, Darling."
As Finch left she missed the small blush that built on the doppelgängers face and how Stefan shifted slightly in his seat with Elena beside him.
