15°/ Messed up
Thank you for 13k reads!!!❤️❤️❤️
WHO DEY BREETTTTTTTT???!!!!
~ACHA~
"Guys, I messed up."
That was JJ's greeting to me and Sean, early morning of Resumption.
I had barely been in here for two minutes, savouring all the new attention on me - something I hadn't gotten bored of since last night - when JJ decided to put me on my toes.
I saw him from the moment he stepped into the rowdy, morning assembly hall. Tie, roughly hanging loose, shoulders slumped, huge backpack hung around one of them, face blue, whole demeanor, beaten, and I remember thinking, never had he looked more unstable on any first day of school. Ever.
I was even scared to imagine what made him this uncomfortable on the first day of the academic year for Ss3?
"I..." He looked around the noisy-as-hell hall that was almost filled up with students waiting for the first assembly of the academic year to commence, then to the few classmates around, almost like he was searching for someone. And very nervously.
"I.. really messed up," he got more nervous and I had to look around to see if there was anyone he saw that was capable of putting him in this demeanour.
"What did you do."
That was Sean.
He looked straight at JJ. Dead at him, the most zombie-looking stare ever to exist, marrying his face.
JJ, still fidgeting, took a seat from the row on front of us, turned it towards us so he could sit, facing us.
"Promise you won't shout." He said to us, funding the school bag that was on his shoulder for a few seconds, before getting it off his shoulder.
"What." Sean looked at JJ, unmoved. "Did. You. Do." He traced his dead stare carefully, down to the back pack that JJ was dropping on the floor in all his nervousness.
JJ must have swallowed.. Because the atmosphere around us was suddenly so eerie, so tensed for even me, and I had no idea what he was even about to tell us.
"Dude, talk to us." I had to urge JJ on, and he nodded, breathed, and started to open the zipper of the school bag.
Sean and I watched in silence.
JJ first got out a laptop.... Wait.
He stretched out his hands in front of us, to show us something, and my mouth dropped.
"What the fuck." Sean muttered under his breath.
In JJ's outstretched left hand was the screen of a laptop, and in his right hand was the keyboard part of a laptop..... And those parts were not conjoined to one another.
As in, this laptop was broken into two. And JJ was holding the divided parts of it, for us to see.
"Is that Nana's laptop?" I just had to ask.
JJ swallowed. Rubbed the back of his neck, nervously. Moved uncomfortably on his seat. "Yes."
Sean actually twitched.
"How?" I asked JJ, stunned. "How on earth did you do this?" I picked up one piece of the now deformed gadget, to properly stare at it properly. Awed. Aghast. Stupefied.
How is this even possible?! Does this happen!?
Our reaction tensed JJ up even more.
"I don't know.. I didn't know it was there on my bed last night and-"
"You slept on Nana's laptop?" Sean raised a brow at JJ, unimpressed.
"I didn't mean to-" JJ barely had more time to speak.
"No, brah, shut up for a second," Sean cut him off again, waving of whatever JJ was about to say, like he wasn't interested in hearing of his bullshit explanation.
"Do you even know how much that laptop costs?" His eyes narrowed at the younger boy, he tilted his head as though waiting for an answer, and when JJ didn't speak, he continued, "Do you understand how important that laptop is to Nana? How's he going to restore everything he ever had in there?"
"I know, I-" JJ let out his hopeless hands, trying to redeem himself with another explanation.
"Mm mm. Chill, let me finish," Sean cut him off, continuing what he was saying nonetheless. "What are the Media guys supposed to do this morning?" He looked at JJ for a few seconds, we obvious knew he wasn't expecting him to answer cause he wouldn't even let him speak. "You know they use Nana's laptop to work, ba?"
"I know! I know! I know all these!" JJ nearly ripped his hair out at that point.
"Man, no." Sean shook his head. "You couldn't have known all that and still decided to sleep on the laptop. You couldn't be that inconsiderate, JJ."
"Guys, chill." I had to come in, and had both boys attention.
"We have barely a few minutes to Assembly," I reminded them. "And the Media guys are going to be setting up any time from now, Nana will soon ask for the laptop... What are we going to do? What will we tell him?"
JJ ran a hand through his hair. "I'll just.." Frustration reigned off him. "I'll just tell him I forgot the laptop at home? Maybe I'll just.. I'll.."
"Bullshit." Sean spat, clearly bored by JJ's nonsense.
What he did next shocked me!
Without warning, Sean looked ahead of us towards the staff area, spotting who we least wanted here right now, and called out the name, in his loudest decibel. "NANA!"
Sean's voice actually reverberated round the hall, calling attention of even some juniors, and I was certain Nana heard him.
"Sean, wait!" I tried stopping him.
It was happening too fast. Things were happening way too fast.
"Sean, no no no!" JJ was trying to stop him.
I easily spotted Nana, who was speaking to a junior school computer teacher - one I knew also had to do with the Media - and when his name was called, he looked around the four corners of the hall for a moment, trying to find Sean.
"Guy, abeg. No do this thing. Wait!" JJ pleaded.
Sean stood up, waved to get Nana's attention, completely ignoring JJ, and I nearly ran mad.
"For God's sake!" I tugged at his arm to get him back down on his seat, and he threw my hand away, and gestured towards Nana. "Come."
Why's he doing this!?
I buried my face in my hands when I saw Nana, adjust his tie, and start walking towards us.
Sean sat down. Looking like he wasn't about to start a fire.... I just stared at this kid.
"Why are you doing this?" I asked him. Tired. Face still in my hands, feeling tensed for JJ even if I had no hand in what he did... Yet this boy called Sean wasn't wasting time at ratting him out so, so easily.
Just... Why?
JJ had already long packed up the the laptop pieces into his bag and looked like he was rushing to run away.
"Don't." Sean warned JJ. "Don't even think about it, guy. Just sit down there and address your fuck up with your full chest."
JJ looked conflicted....
Again with that thing I noticed about the two boys; that unconditional respect that JJ had for Sean. One I never really understood. There was a thin line, a very thin line between that respect and fear.
Nana was in front of us the next second.
"What's up?" He greeted us, throwing us a warm smile that lit those eyes of his' with the hope and light that they were known for.
I was too overwhelmed by this situation to know how to even respond.
"We're great, brah!" Sean's sudden, sharp grin... actually scared me.
Nana returned the greeting a second time to the only person who apparently answered him, before turning to look at JJ... Carefully observing the boy who couldn't even look at him.
"Jeffery." Nana called him, warming smile intact. "I didn't know you were in school. You didn't let me know like you said you would." He watched the boy even more closely... smile never actually seizing. "Why?"
"JJ, tell him." Sean ordered the boy.
Nana's smile was slowly disappearing, his face started contorting slowly from that warm morning peace and happiness it had on before, into confusion that was threatening to turn to dread.
"Tell me what." He asked Sean first. Looked at JJ. Then, looked at me.
Bro, don't look at me. I ain't saying shit.
"Tell me what." Nana repeated, looking at just JJ now, his confusion growing by the second.
"Go on," Sean looked sternly at JJ. "Tell Nana what you did."
Nana's brows furrowed in confusion, his absolute peace gone. He looked at JJ, carefully observing the kid.
"Jeffery," he called him again. "Tell me what happened. I'll understand."
By now, I was certain he knew that this had to do with his laptop.
"Well, I.. I kinda.." JJ finally found the courage to speak, Nana listened... Carefully... Observed.. Carefully.
"Yeah?" He urged him, gently prompting him to continue, waiting to hear what he had to say.
JJ let out a sigh, and slowly started to unzip this back pack again. Nana watched quietly.
"I was sleeping last night and I.." JJ got the broken laptop in his hands and stretched out the divided parts for Nana to see.
Nana's face actually fell. As in.. Completely.
He actually stepped back.
"I was sleeping and I sort of slept on it.." JJ explained subtly.
There was silence for a decade.
Nana didn't say a word. Just watched his destroyed laptop in JJ's hand, and said nothing. Absolutely nothing. He looked too impassive that it started to look like numbness. He actually looked so destroyed.
Sean stayed quiet... Observing the scene he started. One we could have just avoided this morning.
JJ was nervously circling his fingers on everything, especially the laptop.
I was.. well... quiet too. The situation was draining the peace out of me.
"That's my laptop." Nana finally was able to speak.
JJ breathed. "Yes."
Nana looked at it again for a few more seconds, I could swear I saw rage flash in his eyes for a moment, I actually thought he was going to punch shit out of JJ.
But he didn't.
He only stretched forth his arm. "Give it to me."
JJ handed him the laptop, or what was left of it, as instructed.
"Nana, are you good?" I asked the boy, concerned.
He nodded quickly. "Yeah. No qualms." Took the two parts of his laptop from JJ, barely looked at us. "Have a blessed day." With that, he walked out on us, walked out of the hall entirely.
"Sean..." I had it in me to speak after we all watched Nana walk away.
"Don't blame me for anything, I wasn't the one who scattered Nana's laptop," He was quick to defend himself, hands in the air in mock surrender.
I wasn't even sure what I even wanted to blame Sean for, if I was being honest.
"Look, I know JJ," Sean said. "If I didn't force him to tell Nana the truth now, he'd never do it at all." He said it like it was a fact.
"Look, there's nothing I hate more than cowards." He didn't stop. "People who are afraid to take responsibility for their own mistakes. And you guys know how much I hate that shit. I get it that nobody's perfect, but if you fuck up, you should know you have a lot of responsibility to it. Stand your grounds and address it like a man! Not hiding and running away from it like a wimp!"
JJ looked like a heap of concrete was on his entire being.
"JJ wanted to tell him he forgot the laptop at home. Tomorrow and next tomorrow, he'll be telling the same bullshit lie. Over and over. And trust me, when Nana finds out after all the lies and stalling, he'd even be more angry than he is right now." Sean said.
When he puts it like that....
"And having we know about the laptop, that would make us more or less accomplices to the crime as well." Sean continued, and the fuck, he said 'crime'.
"We would just be held as liable as JJ who actually spoilt the laptop, even if we didn't touch it." He went on. "Look guys, there's nothing better than honesty! If you do something you shouldn't do, confess immediately. If you know something, speak up. Speak up before it's too late. Because things like that destroy friendships and relationships faster than you can imagine." Sean concluded all he had to say, before turning forward at the commencement of the Assembly Hall.
His last sentences felt like an attack.
Like he was directly attacking me.
For a long time, I didn't have my peace.
I thought about Ada.
~DABI~
I could have sworn that I wasn't going to Acha's class, no matter what.
But I don't know how the twins did it.
In less than 60 seconds of them, listing out a bunch of pro and cons, my legs started to walk towards Marcus Acha's class; SS3A.
I stepped into the class and everyone was.... Indifferent.
Nobody noticed my entrance.
I was about to have an anxiety attack, but I remembered Ebere's words;
"Look, Ss3A class members live in a parallel universe of our set. Those people are oblivious to all sorts of rumours going round in the set, and they practically live in a world of their own. At least, a 90% of them. But nothing to fear, the remaining 10% are ever live and watching your every move. Go there and make that fraction mad with gossip!"
I breathed. Okay.
The 10% are watching... Right?
I summoned confidence, stood up straight, and found the person I was looking for, and for some reason, my confidence died and resurrected a thousand times on seeing him.
Marcus Acha - the effortlessly handsome demon was sitting on the teachers' desk, surrounded by a bunch of Art Boys, and I wondered how I'd ever have the damn courage.
A part of me actually softened, seeing him, and recalling how nice he was to me in that room that day. I had no other option than to just look at him differently, and for some reason, he managed to stand out amongst everyone surrounding him. Not just because of his stunning looks, but he just looked different to me. I couldn't explain it.
"Move." I obeyed the voice that urged me on.
I walked to Marcus and the boys. Anything to get them talking. Get them to stop emotionally abusing me in this set.
"Hi." I said to Marcus' back.
The other boys with him, noticed me before he did.
"Mad oo!"
"Ahh, no be joke oo!"
"Guy, she dey your back oo!"
My heart started racing... badly.
Marcus turned back to look at me, and I felt like I made a mistake, coming here.
He looked... uncomfortable.
"Hey," I found my courage when he greeted back, and I was certain that the 10% was watching us now. I felt like they were so many stairs that they would be able to bore holes into me.
And when he actually smiled, I decided that the twins were right about my view of things. Maybe he wasn't already irritated by me?
And that 10%... Boy, I had their attention now. Perfect. Just perfect.
"I didn't expect you to be here," He said to me.
My fingers played on the desk. "So, you don't want me here?"
I swear, it slipped out. I fought the urge to slap my mouth in frustration.
Marcus frowned. I moved back. What did I say?!
My reaction caused him to even frown more as he observed me. He actually laughed, I don't know what amused him but he laughed.... and I felt stupid.
I was already messing this up, God!
What did Ebube say about confidence again? "Do, don't think. Just do."
Well, I obeyed.
And I don't know how it happened, but the next thing I knew, I saw myself on the boy's laps.
"Woah!" Marcus' hands involuntarily went to hold me so I don't fall off him with the force that I used to bounce on him, and our faces got so close, too close I swear our lips almost touched.
This such close proximity with a 'boy' was new... I was actually frozen now.
Meanwhile, the class ran mad.
Even the people at the back, Krisdana and Nova who acted like I was non-existent when I walked in, had to look up to see what the noise was all about.
Good. Perfect.
Marcus Acha looked absolutely stunned by my confidence. Even more perfect.
"DOPE ASS PARTY, BRAH!!"
I nearly fell off Marcus' as the loud unexpected voice of Sean resounded through out the ends of the classroom, and he managed to stop me from falling and I held onto him for my dear life, arms wrapped tightly around his neck.
Again. With. Such. Close. Proximity.
"Thanks bro," Whoever it was that Sean was talking to, exchanged a bro's handshake with him, soon after, then came revealing Yure Adediji, who stood there, staring at me and Marcus Acha as though we were aliens.
The boy I was holding onto was quick to join in the chants. "For real, bro! You're the real gee!"
Yure did not particularly say anything back to Marcus, he just stood there, staring at the both of us with the most confused expression on his face. An expression that almost looked rude.... Or disgusted.
Jesus. I strengthened myself, got my hands off Marcus' nape.
The disgust oozing off him scared me... I looked as stupid as I felt.
Was it because I threw up in his living room?! But didn't he tell Chika he was cool with me??
Or was it because of the news going round about me? Is it possible he was among the 10% that knew, and he was probably irritated by me.
I was about to apologize to Yure for something I wasn't even sure I did, but then his girlfriend called out to him from the back of the class that second.
He literally rolled his eyes, saying through his gestures 'what's my business, sef?' and looked away from me and Marcus in disinterest, before making his way to the back of the class where his friend, and girlfriend were waiting for him.
"Dude." Sean addressed me directly, making it clear that he didn't know my name.
I looked up to him, shaking.
"I think you should go to your class." He was blunt with me.
My heart disintegrated into pieces, blew up like a pinata, and broke like fragile glass.
I didn't wait to be more embarrassed. I stood up, swallowed my shame and left the class.
~ACHA~
I walked into the rowdy Ss2 Block during break time. Yes, Ss2 block. Not Ss3.
I literally couldn't think straight the entire day. And surprisingly, my extra fame was doing nothing to better the guilt that weighed me down the entire day.
After so much thinking and tugging at my spirit, I decided that I didn't have it in me to lie to my best friend anymore.
I wanted to speak to Ada... and I knew just why.
Stepping into this block of people who were one class below me was like a whiplash. It was a feeling of nostalgia, but not in a particularly good way. Having this block was now occupied by a group of people I didn't like to see, it wasn't helping matters.
I didn't like these Ss2s. Maybe it was mutual? As in SS2s and Ss3s mutual dislike for each other. But something about their presence, I just didn't fancy.
With time, I realised I just had major problems with their boys. Their girls were honestly too pretty to even dislike. However, since Ada, their girls were starting to slowly irritate me as well.
I scanned the noisy block, smooth, trying to figure out where to start from.
They were just like us. Just like my classmates. The noise. The playing around. The noise. The flirting. Oh the noise. The cliques, the groups, and Jesus Christ, the NOISE! They really were like us. Who knows? Maybe that was why we never saw eye to eye.
While still trying to figure out how to get Ada without having to fully step into the block, I noticed someone walking into the block, from behind me.
One glance and I knew who it was - Chidoezie Ihenna. My classmate. The school's Sanitary prefect....... And just one of the guys that I believe Nana preferred over us.
The tall, dark skinned, bulky boy walked in here, not acknowledging me at all, legit walking past me, and ahead of me, and making his way further into the block with an urgency that made me realise that he may have innocently not noticed me there.
I couldn't have known. Just like Sean was hot and cold with Kaniru and his boys, Chido, as we called the boy, was 'boiling' and 'freezing' with us. As in, Sean, JJ, and me. So for all I knew, my guy could have deliberately even walked past without acting like I was even thee, perhaps.
I was about to shrug it off as it didn't mean shit to me, but with the way that Chido suddenly stopped walking, as in, halted on his tracks like a programmed robot who just ran out of battery, it got more of my attention.
For all I knew, he probably wasn't even a human being..
Subconsciously, my next move was to ask if there was a problem.
Chido looked to me. No, behind me.
I turned back to look too.
Nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
All I saw was the running tap by the cleaners' little warehouse, just paces behind me.
However, it seemed to me like Chido was seeing something more than just that running tap because the way his eyes grew dark on the tap and the bucket beneath it that water overflowed from, it almost looked demonic.
The boy legit looked like he was about to strangle the life out of someone. With a speed that shocked me, he rushed over, turned of the tap so fast, with so much force that I thought he may have broken the handle.
Jawbone clenching hard, Adams apple bobbing, he whipped his head away from the tap so fast and turned to look towards the tall height of the whole Ss2 Block that was filled up with students. "SS2 BLOCK! ON YOUR KNEES, NOW!"
Wait, what?
The whole building trembled at the sound of his voice.
If it was noisy before, then right now, I couldn't explain what it was. The whole block was in total confusion, disarray, and disorganization, as they all hastily complied and obeyed his order without even asking questions.
Even from where I stood, I could hear the sounds of chairs, tables, every furniture in class, hitting against each other. Any way that Ss2s were standing, be it on the corridor, in their classes, in the toilet, on the moon, they all were getting on their knees.
Chido watched them at it, utterly, completely, and disturbingly furious.
What the fuck is this guy?
"SILENCE!" He shouted, and the block was a grave yard.
It already felt odd being here.
Chido looked at the Ss2's sternly, angrily pointed to the innocent tap, and asked the entire block one question;
"Why was the water still running?"
I found this hard to comprehend.
So, this guy stepped in here, and decided to punish an entire SS2 block because of.... water.
The Ss2s moped back at him, innocently confused.
"I ASKED A QUESTION! WHY WAS THE WATER STILL RUNNING WHEN THE BUCKET WAS CLEARLY FULL!?" Chido screamed at them and instantly I understood what was happening.
One scape goat raised up his hand to answer the prefect.
"S-Senior.." He started by stammering. "It's the cleaner that was fetching water, not us."
That answer seemed to trigger Chido so much, he looked like he was about to throw backflips. If we were animation, steam may have oozed out his ears.
"What did you just say?" He narrowed deadly eyes at the younger boy, who retreated.
Chido ran his hands through his spiky hair, laughed bitterly under his breath and shook his head, before turning back to address the entire block.
"So, because the cleaner was the one fetching the water, that gives you all an excuse to sit down and just watch water go to waste like that?" He shouted at them. Livid. "Don't you guys know a thing about conserving water. You think water is becoming any less scarce with all these careless behaviour you all seem to be all about? Why are you all so non-chalant about the most pressing issues in the environment? Are you all not ASHAMED of yourselves!?"
The set was pin-drop silent as only his voice thundered everywhere.
"I am so highly disheartened by the things I see everyday and just by this one act, you all have automatically ruined my entire day!" Chido was shouting at them.
Nigga.... Because of water.
"If you do not give a single care in the world about your environment and the welfare of the future generations, at least have the fear of God. Don't you know wasting is sin?" He reprimanded them.
"In fact," He shook his head, dismissing the case. "You all are going to stay here on your knees until I am satisfied. Until I see that all of you feel absolutely terrible for the grave sin and crime against humanity that you just committed."
Water.
He wasn't even joking. Like that, he just went to sit on the pavement on the corridor, a place where he could properly watch the entire block properly, and they watched him too, silence everywhere.
I stared at the kid in absolute awe.
I concluded that I may just never understand him.
And even if everything that just happened here was oddly entertaining to watch, nevertheless, I still needed to speak to Ada.
And the girl in question was properly somewhere serving punishment in this block. I looked to Chido, understanding how disrespectful it would be to release someone he just punished without telling him. It was like the Senior code.
"'Sup, man," I had to go to him. Senior Code. "I want to take Ada out."
I made my way to proceed, before his answer came.
"In life, we don't always get what we want."
I halted, turned back to look at him, arched a brow. "Dude."
He barely even looked at me. Muttered something in a low tone, before turning right ahead to the block in front of us. "You." He called out to one of the girls there, gestured for her to stand up.
She stood, straightened her spine, looked at him, wide eyed, like she was expecting something.
"Go inside the block and call Adaugo Uzoka." He instructed. "Tell her that someone wants to see her. When you're done, come back and resume your position."
She started to move as instructed, and Chido didn't even look at me.
I rolled my eyes, waited for her, refusing to be bothered by such attitude this boy was giving me for no reason.
There was silence again.
More silence.
Until--
"You'll never believe what happened this morning."
I know Chido didn't just talk to me. It couldn't be me.
I didn't answer.
"Yeah?" He turned to me squarely, looked directly at me. "I said you'll never believe what happened this morning."
I frowned. "Why are you talking to me?"
"Rude," He scoffed, unimpressed. "Well, I want to let you know what I found out this morning."
I completely ignored him.
"Well," He went on, nonetheless. "I was mad at my boy, Nana, for completely leaving the Media hanging during the morning devotion. Did you notice how disorganized everything was on the first assembly of the academic term? Imagine being on duty to look after these stubborn Ss2s during assembly and still have to monitor everything going on upstairs with Media?"
Why was he telling me this?
"Only for me to go through all that stress and ending up being discontent with the organization of the Assembly that no one apparent seemed to take note of and come back to the class block to find Nana, and guess what?"
Against my will, my interest piqued.
"Well, his laptop was broken into two. I believe you know well what I'm talking about." He finished.
So, that's why Chido had been so hostile to me today. I get it now.
"Nana didn't even have to tell me anything and I figured it had something to do with you guys because I was aware we were supposed to be waiting for JJ to get his laptop so we could start work," He said.
"I wasn't the one." I told him.
"I don't want to know who did it, I am not just happy with the way you guys treat Nana. It's very unfair." He said flatly. e shook his head again, "I don't just know why the best people always have to push themselves to be around toxic people when all they ever get in return is ill treatment. The day that Nana completely cuts you guys off, I'd be so happy for him. Hopefully, it wouldn't be too late for you all to realise how useless you are without him."
Ouch.
Hopefully, it wouldn't be too late for you all to realise how useless you are without him. I didn't understand what Chido meant by that.
But I sure did feel guilt.. a lot of guilt.
Chido sighed. "Look, Acha." He said, his voice softer and less hostile than before. Like he was coming to a compromise in is head... or just.. calming down. "I know you're not a bad person."
I didn't know what to say.
He was calmer now. More rational.
"I just don't understand you sometimes." He told me.
Neither did I.
"But nonetheless, I don't hate you. It's just that..." He shrugged. Smiled weakly. "It's just that Nana is my friend."
I looked at Chido. Really looked at Chido. And realised.... He's not a bad guy.
I saw Ada from a distance and knew that I would soon take my leave. She stopped seeing me, feigning mock shock and amusement, before throwing a seductive, yet smug smirk at me.
I looked away from her. She couldn't even behave herself in public.
Just before turning ahead and walking, I noticed Chido stand up from the pavement too, and a part of me felt bad for these Ss2s that I believed he was about to leave here, still on their knees.
"You're going to release them anytime soon, ba?" I subtly inquired.
He actually surprised me by laughing softly, genuinely, at my question.
"Of course," He said. "Even if I hate misbehaviour, I don't have a heart of stone."
I actually laughed... genuinely. He just smiled, somewhat happy that he made me laugh.
"I'm just going to look for the cleaner, I believe we have a lot to talk about concerning that running tap." He said, and I fought the urge to laugh because he was damn serious.
"After that," he continued, looking back to the block that he just punished. "I'll talk the school into letting me organise a whole entire seminar to properly educate this entire Ss2 class on the importance of conserving water."
I tried my best to not show how much I wasn't relating. "Sure, you do just that, alright!"
Ada met up with my pace the moment I left Chido.
I hadn't even left the block completely, and small hands wrapped around me from behind, cheeks on my back, and I nearly lost my cool. Even with the blood rising to my head, I struggled hard to not push her off me.
"Ada." I called her name. "Get your hands off me."
"My super hero!" She sang into my back, holding me even tighter. "Boo saved me!"
I actually pushed her. Sorry, but I did. I pushed her off me, and boy, she was stunned as hell.
The girl actually stepped back, away from me, shocked at my reaction, hands on her chest to emphasize just how shook she was.
"Geez, why so aggressive?" She actually managed to turn her reaction into a joke. "You wan beat me, oga?"
"Follow me outside." I told her. "Try not to embarrass yourself, guy. You do too much."
I didn't even wait for her to respond, and I just walked ahead of her, until I got outside the block.
I didn't understand why she didn't give me headache as she usually would, but she just followed me.
"You know?" Her voice was softened behind me, and I knew something was up.
We were on the somewhat lonely path, quite away from both the Ss2 and Ss3 blocks - somewhere I figured we wouldn't be seen- and I decided I'd stop walking any time soon.
"You know you're actually funny oo," She stiffled a laughter behind me, and I stopped, turned to her.
"What's funny?" I couldn't understand why she was so amused.
"You brought me out of my block, and now you don't want to be caught dead walking with me na. I get it naw, celeb tinz," She sassed like an idiot, waving long nails in the air, and I wondered how she survived Assembly in the hands of the Head Girl, with those kind of nails.
"Or will your girlfriend get mad if she sees us?" Ada stood there, striking a seductive pose, and twisting her long blonde braids between her fingers, like she was trying to hypnotize me.
"I called dibs on you first," Her smile started to turn into a sleazy smirk that irritated shit out of me. "She can't feel so possessive just because she was opportune to be in the same room with you. Come to talk of going....." She bit her lips that were curved into that stupid, teasing smirk. "... Allllllll the way."
I stepped back away from her, further away from her, not wanting to be touched by her in all of this. I absolutely hated hearing her go down that road while she talked. It irritated me.
And she knew how to do this. She knew just how sleazy to get to push your buttons.
Ada was pretty, no doubt. She was pretty enough to be shown off on those Instagram pages that featured the most perfect looking black girls. The girl was more endowed physically than 99.9% of girls in her set and my set included, and she showed off that body God graced her with, even with her uniforms.
Who knows? All that was probably what trapped me in her net. What even trapped Sean to in her net, who knows? One thing was certain, I regretted ever having anything to do with this girl called Adaugo Uzoka. God in heaven knows.
Who knew the prettiest girls had the most evil hearts?
"The lucky bitch," She laughed to herself. "That lucky bitch had you all to herself that night. She had a chance to tap that. Mehn, that's one hell of an achievement. I wish I could have some of that one. more. time."
With her last three words she stepped closer and closer to me, and when she got close enough, she tried circling her fingers on my chest.
"Stop it, Ada." I slapped her hands away, warned her, barely speaking through gritted teeth.
"Oh the aggressiveness hits different each time!" She didn't stop, her eyes lit up. "Giving me some kind of nasty daddy vibes." She laughed heartily, enjoying what she was doing to me.
I growled, forcing my self control in check.
That entertained her even more.
"You dog!" She screamed in delight. "You aggressive dog! Bark for me, daddy! Roof! Roof!"
I swear I don't know how I did it, but I managed to control myself enough to not pick her up, and throw her off the fence.
Immediately after having her good laugh, as in throwing her head back and laughing her ass off, she got serious all of a sudden, putting on her classic mean girl face on, and completely eradicating her seductive demeanour, alongside all form of play.
"So, why exactly did you call me out here, you fool." Her deep auto voice was back, the one that was a stunning contrast to the softer, seductive one she used whenever she wanted to tease.
"Ehen?" She looked at me, up and down, like I was dirt. "Are you now mute? I'm waiting for you to speak. I have a class in the next one hour. Don't stand here, wasting my bloody time."
I breathed, reigned all my emotions out.
"I'm telling Sean everything." I told Ada the truth.
She raised an amused brow at me, lips curved into a mocking smile. "Oh, you don't mean that, my guy!"
I ignored her. "I only want to tell you to keep that video to yourself. Since I'm telling him already, it's unnecessary to show it to him."
She looked bored. "Is that all?"
I nodded. "Yeah."
She shrugged. "Okay na."
I got confused.
So easily?
She was just going to let it all slide so easily?
I was so confused.
Ada and I stared at each other for an eternity, and I was still trying to decipher if she was being for real. God knows what was going through her head.
"Oga oo!" She snapped long fingers in my face, shocking me with how she switched from her calm and collected tone into a sharp ghetto, rugged girl type shit. "This is the part where you tell me how much you'll be paying me to not show him the video after you tell him?" She narrowed her eyes at me, tilted her head. "Or wait oo, is it because I'm keeping quiet for you to negotiate, guy! You wan mae I call my own price for you? Should I call price? If I talk, oga, your head go scatter oo!"
I looked at Ada. Really looked at her. Went 'hehe' like a psychopath and turned my back to walk away calmly, leaving her standing there.
She wanted to send the video? Fine, she should go ahead. I wasn't going to beg her. Or negotiate any price with her. I was done with that shit.
I knew what she was doing. Ada knew what she was doing. Telling Sean was one thing. Him, seeing that video, was another different, different story entirely... But I was willing to end all these once and for all. Ada would keep using that video to extort whatever she wanted from me, and I wasn't about to let myself turn into someone's puppet.
I only wished I hadn't gotten myself into this. The day, the minute, the second I even decided to get myself involved in this shit... I messed up.
Who else weak for Dabi's POV😂😂😂💔 Omo, as I was writing it, I was shouting upandan💔😂😂😂
And I introduced a new MAJOR character here, Chido, ANALYSIS ON HIM PLEASE!!! I WANT TO LAUGH 😂😂❤️❤️❤️
Y'all can see Chido's fine ass in the second part of the Cast list, and y'all can also watch the #positionschallenge video (if you haven't) to see him and well, other characters too!!
My sister relates so much with Chido, as a matter of fact, she's the one who inspired me for the scene😂😂 One time, she walked in on a random tap overflowing and she got sooooo madddd!!! The death stare she gave the girl that was standing next to it and pressing phone ehh, of looks could kill😂😂 Then she said "If this was secondary school and she was my junior, she would have served punishment diee!!" And my mind SCREAMED CHIDO OVER AND OVER😂😂😂✌️
On a random note, Ada cracked me up in this chapter. I hate her, but she killed me😂✌️
Also, guysss, I realised I have a crush on Nana in this chapter. "Have a blessed day" got me all chillzzz, and I didn't even know why. But guyssss, what are your thoughts on what Sean said about 'adressing your fuck up' and how do you think it may affect him and Acha's friendship in the long run???
Wahala for who no dey read TMBT oo!! Y'all vote abeg, I love you!!!
