Chapter 06 - The Maiden Voyage
The salty breeze embraced me while the shades of the dawn mooched my skin, giving rise to goosebumps on my pale skin because of the chill. My head weighed more than my bag pack. I felt like my head would blast at any moment. My eyes scrutinized the queue of people behind me.
They look so happy,
I stuck my orbs to the dark shallow, staring at the small waves that were fighting against each other.
Why does God hate me so much? Don't I deserve to be happy like them?
While everyone else walked past me, I stood there in the hall filled with people, all alone, not knowing what to do next. My life was at stake, fallen into a horrible pit that I can't seem to find a way out of. While I was dumbfounded and scared about the unseen future, I remembered something,
"Hide there until she starts sailing,"
That's what Yeonjun told me before I farewelled him. That was our last farewell, from that day until today, I never met him again. I didn't know whether he was alive or not anymore. As for that moment, the only thing I cared was about being alive, being able to breathe.
I found myself walking through the passage which had cabins on both sides. The golden number plates shined like they warmly welcomed the guest to their new rooms.
First-class cabins demonstrated the wealth and power of the upper class who utterly stood up against the rest of the society. Those people were rich and powerful enough to allocate themselves to the sweet taste of the deluxe and get the best of the best as they pleased.
The third class is not much to say. With only a little space given, they have to be satisfied with the facilities they are being provided. But since this beauty has just come out to play a role, she got shiny metal doors that even the third class would look pretty fancy.
Second class, most of the people belonged to this group. They were between rich and poor, they had to collide with both sides. What I think is that the middle classes suffer more than both other classes. The reason I think that is, poor people don't have much hope, they don't ask for too much. As for the rich individuals, they have everything they want. But the bourgeoisie, the working class have far more hopes, and too many needs compared to the others. So they suffer, but surprisingly being able to twist a smile on their lips. I know, I am not talking about the cabins that are given but about the crowd of people who represents the majority of this society. Somehow I felt like saying this.
Consuming the fresh smell of the newly painted walls of the ship, I peeked inside cabin number G-60 which was the number written on my key. A room for an individual, not much but more than enough.
After I made sure my door was locked, I plopped down on the lower bed and tossed my bags aside. I merged into deep thoughts.
Will I be safe here?
I questioned myself. The answer was a big no, if Beom Hyun ever gets on this ship it wouldn't take him a detective to find me on this ship. I straightened my spine and hooved my bag over my shoulder again. Since the outside was pretty cold, I zipped up my jacket and quietly open the door to peek around.
Where could I possibly hide?
I was tired, frightened and so fucking exhausted. I walked till I found a dark and empty room. The wooden door crack opened with a creek sound as I pushed it away. With the help of the beam falling inside through the glass windows, I spotted some lifeboats in the average size room. Maybe it is a storage room?
I stepped inside hanging my bag over my shoulder. It was a lot quiet inside the room. I espied no one inside, not even a guard. It was a perfect spot to hide.
I removed the covering cloth of one boat and shoved my bag. I crawled inside it and used my bag as a pillow. I was too tired to think of my current situation. My eyelids were getting heavy, I barely kept my eyes open. The exhaustion made me snooze to slumber, even though I didn't know what will happen the next day. I didn't know whether I'll live or not even. But at that moment, I needed to slow down a bit.
Sleep Y/n, you are tired...

He was standing right beside the captain who held a bottle of whiskey in his hand, glancing at each of the crew members with a proud smile.
It's finally time,
Captain Smith smashed the bottle, giving a warm welcome, officially granting permission to the majestic queen to sail. Jungkook's lips formed a hearty smile, a genuine one. He felt his heart thumping with both joy and nervousness.
"Captain Jeon,"
Jungkook was still standing there smiling, without answering the elder one. The young captain was still engrossed with the thrilled excitement. The other male along with the other staff members chuckled as they see Jungkook's glistening eyes with joy. He placed a hand on the young masculine's shoulder and gave it a light squeeze to gain his attention.
"Sorry Captain, my mind was elsewhere," Jungkook slightly bowed with an apology. The other one shook his head.
"No it's alright, you should be proud Jeon, I'm proud of you," Smith beamed. Jungkook nodded with a grin.
The captain turned towards the members.
All of them were looking at him, he could see the faces filled with excitement and enthusiasm. They were coated with energetic aurora. The silver and gold badges they wore reflected their loyalty of them towards him. He cleared his throat,
"I have my faith in every one of you, we are together on this, we are making history..."
Jungkook's eyes twinkled as he said, he inhaled a deep breath, vowing himself to grasp everything the captain says. He was young but determined, strong and confident. He held a big responsibility, he was obliged to assure the safety of the passengers.
Thousands of them,
A round of applause clattered the air as the Captain gripped the helm of the Titanic. He glanced towards Jungkook, his fellow and gave him the signal. He horned the ship, marking the departure of the Queen Titanic, she was ought to start her journey through the cold Atlantic.
Jungkook stepped towards the window of the wheelhouse and glanced at the crowd outside.
So many people...
He murmured. He could hear the people screaming for joy, they gathered towards the edges of the ship to farewell their tribes and allies. Adolescents were jumping of triumph. People were waving at their beloved ones, saying goodbye to everyone. Jungkook perceives the slight grief tinted on their faces because of the separation. But yet they were beginning a new journey.
His feet felt the motion, the ship was moving. Jungkook felt the tides hitting her, she was sailing gloriously fighting the waves. The sound of the horn echoed in the area.
"Finally she's sailing, " Jungkook spoke to himself with a light heart and a smile twitched his lips.

I woke up with the sudden motion of the ship. I flutter open my eyes. My body was still tired, but I couldn't help but be curious about what happened. I removed the cover of the lifeboat and scrutinized the area. Light shades of sunlight of fallen through the windows. The dusty particles danced in the semi-darkness.
Just when I managed to make it through the door, before I could open it I heard the roar of her, I felt the motion underneath my feet.
I peeped my head carefully, after assuring myself that there was no clue of people haunting me I walked towards the open space. The salty breeze welcomed me warmly, wrapping me with its thrilled excitement.
I glanced at the ocean, it looked more overjoyed than ever, the milky-formed waves greeted her, the Titanic in a gentle manner. She was beginning her journey.
"Finally she's sailing," I stared at the horizon.
It's the beginning of a new life...
