~GIWA~

It had been a month since the funeral.

The event was quick. We decided it was best that way. It was sponsored by all our parents and I didn't expect that much crowd. Nearly the entire set came. Teachers of Castron High, the school authorities, and students filled the place.

Amir and his friends were at the funeral, as well. Asides he, Kam, Asa, Dave and Jubilation, I met new faces - a tall, good-looking quiet boy who introduced himself as Osahon, and another boy with an athletic body and pretty face who introduced himself as... Joro? Jumbo..? Right, Jemi! Funny how I never forgot Osahon's name, but kept mixing up Jemi's own, all the time.

Funny how it almost seemed like not much people treated her with much significance when she was alive, yet ironically, her funeral was so full. I had to switch off my phone due to all the RIP posts I saw everywhere, whatssap status, IG posts and stories, facebook... I just had to sleep the entire day off.

We cried. We all cried together. It was painful, having to see our friend in a coffin, and buried six feet under. They were a lot of help though, with information from her diary, we were able to find Hassana's real mother. We couldn't contact her... But we found out she was alive. The directions led us to a mental hospital and my mum decided we stop and go no further, she said she'd take it from there. Along side with all our parents, and a group of investigators, they were able to track and get proof against Hassana's aunt. I literally cringed when I heard the full story behind the issue, and I was so happy that Hassana was able to get justice, even if it was after her death.

Our parents were really there for us all the way. To be honest, even if the vacancy was still in our hearts, we felt a whole lot better, thanks to them. Even if Hassana was gone, we wouldn't forget her impact on all of us. We wouldn't have been together again if not for her. Hassana may be dead, but as far as I was concerned, her legacy lived on. She would forever be remembered in our hearts.

"Come here, girls! I missed you!!" It was Shade who was calling out to me and Prissy as soon as she had landed with her limo and her guards.

We all came close, pulling ourselves up in a hug and squealing in our embrace.

"Aww, Prissy, your hair is so soft," Shade couldn't stop touching Prissy's mini-afro. Yes, Prissy hadn't had the chance to do anything to her hair the past month and it was starting to grow slowly. Shade had been busy for the entire month, but we literally talked to her and videocalled every chance we got.

We missed her. We missed her like mad.

It was the 5th day of July, and also exactly, a day, and two days, respectively, to our Prom and Graduation. 6th of July marked our Prom day and the 7th, was our graduation. Couincidentally, the 8th of July just happened to now be_

"Prissy's Birthday!" Shade announced to all of us, excitedly, like we all didn't know. Prissy blushed on and Shade went on, talking about how she was going to give her the ultimate surprise on that day.

Unpopular fact; The day after Prissy's birthday, 9th of July, was Ivandor's birthday.

Shade seemed to be very talented with handling crowds because as soon as she had drove in, we, she actually, got surrounded by dozens of classmates, who hadn't seen her in a month. Somehow, even in the midst of the crowd, she never let go of me and Prissy.

Well, today was the 7th day of July and it was a normal tradition for the graduating students to lodge in the School's Event Centre.

Why? Because that was basically where that the prom and graduation was going to be taking place. It wasn't compulsory anyways... But having that it would be one of the last times that you may get to see your friends again, well, mostly everyone wanted to show up.

The School's Event Centre was just an extension of Castron High. As the name implied, it was basically an avenue for all kinds of school events (including Prom and Graduation). It just looked like an upgraded version of Castron High, with fewer classes - that were only useful during extensions- and more scenery. I mean, Castron High was beautiful, exotic, one of the prettiest places you could ever see in your lifetime, but this place? This place was like heaven on Earth. With all due respect, it couldn't be compared.

It looked newer, neater, bigger. The rooms we lodged in, looked like actual hotel rooms. Spacey, pretty, white walls and L.E.D lights, chill air conditioners, and a steady light supply. The classes, the few of them here, were spacey, with fancy seats and tables, and curtains that made it look like they were decorating it for a seminar with the president or something. There were basketball courts, lawn tennis courts, neat, presentable Cafeterias' with wonderful dishes and basically, it was everything in here.

We hadn't seen the rest of our classmates since our exams were concluded, that was literally about two months ago, and on this arranged day, our classmates were pulling up in school in different kinds of cars, most of them with their designated drivers, and in no time, the entire Girls' lodge was loud, rowdy and filled with laughing girls, gisting, gossiping about one thing or the other, showing off new phones and booked college boyfriends and giving teasers on their prom dresses.

On a normal day, I would be irritated by all the noise, but surpringly, I wasn't. Me, Shade and Prissy ended up landing in the same room with Chika and Dabeluchi, from her clique, and when her other friends, Soma and the twins visited, there was a whole market square in our room. Needless to say, it was fun.

"Oh my God, Tell Yure that he's such a boss! We heard!!!!" Chika and her clique literally were screaming and gushing in the room.

Oh right, the latest news going around and spreading like wild fire. The entire set was talking about it. The entire school was talking about it.

Yure Adediji apparently got featured in a song with the one and only, Triple J - only but the biggest, most famous boy band in Nigeria, the whole of Africa combined, and were certified as to be among top three in the world.... And they featured our very own Yure in their album called 'Bittersweet'.

"Guy, that song is blowing like mad!" Chika was telling us.

"It should. Yure murdered his part. Do you know how many celebrities have hit me up, asking for a meet and greet with him?" Shade said.

"Wait, they're asking to see Yure!?" I exclaimed.

Shade nodded. "The boy is blown!"

"Oh my God, I'm so happy for him!" Prissy squealed excitedly.

"I swear! Do you know the song is now number 2 in the Naija Hotlist Music?" One of the twins was saying, and the other twin was quick to type on her phone to confirm, shaking her head adamantly.

"Wrong!" She announced, "It's now NUMBER 1!"

I couldn't believe it... I actually screamed with these girls.

"Guys, Guys, Guys!!" Soma got our attention, waving her phone in the air, vigourously calling our to us.

"I just checked RankBoard and the song just made it to number 4 on the board!" She screamed, squealed, jumped.

My mouth actually dropped.

Number 4 on the RankBoard?! Jesus. Does Yure even understand how much he has blown? This... This.. Triple J has just changed the boy's life forever.

Chika didn't even waste time. In excitement, she hit up her speakers blasting the song - Hope by Triple-J ft Yure - at the loudest volume and the girls all talked and gushed, at the very top of their voices, about how good the song was, how talented the Triple J was and how Yure had equally murdered his part of the song.

That song ended up getting stuck in my head, but I didn't mind. As we strolled that afternoon, Prissy couldn't stop talking about how shocking it was that Yure had known the Triple J all these while, even before the featured song, and no one knew.

"How could he have successfully kept that a secret?" I had to ask. It was through intense stalking that it was discovered. Apparently, a jobless Ss2 girl had posted up a like by Triple J, on one of Yure's instagram posts that was dated way back, around a year ago or so.

"I didn't even know he talked to the Triple J," Shade even said. "And I'm quite close to those boys."

It was crazy though. I mean, I always knew Yure would make it in his career, I was just truly amazed at how fast he did. Some people are just truly graced in life.

Maserati by Olakira was blaring through speakers that I couldn't particularly see. I was strolling with the girls, we literally just left the hostel path and we were just getting ourselves into an open space of classmates, boys and girls, looking all chic and fire with their different outfits. Boys looked bigger, more muscled, more grown up, with their upgraded body statures, cool outfits, and longer, fuller, grown hair. Girls looked bigger, added a few more pounds, some, in the right places, some, not so much. Everyone was out here, talking, laughing, the usual, segregating themselves in their own cliques.

Although, things had a twist, this time. There was quite some difference in the cliques, groups, that my classmates had divided themselves into. The groups looked more, merrier than usual, like different people from different cliques and friend groups, decided to mix up with others for the first time and interact with people that they'd never interacted with in school before.

It looked more united, other than the social segregation it used to look like, in the past. Everyone seemed more free, had a place to mingle now. I smiled, happy with the way things were.

The atmosphere filled with acceptance and the oneness of mindset that everyone apparently was having. And that was to fuck it, and have fun on their last days, mingle with people, talk to everyone you ever wished to talk to, and just enjoy the day.

It honestly looked like something I'd never see from the set. The loud, popular Art boys of the set, like Marcus Acha and the rest of the others, were actually talking to those very shy girls from Class E, who no one usually talked to much on a regular. The girls blushed non-stop, too shy to really keep up the conversation, but having those boys were goons on their own, that wasn't necessary a problem. Tofunmi, her boyfriend, Ziba and the likes of Winnie, were actually having a surprisingly thriving conversation with the antisocial girls in my class, who sat in the front seat and talked to no one else, other than themselves. And wow, look at David with the lisp, talking to a pretty girl like Kelechi Uwa and rolling easily with boys like Nana and Chido.

Wow.

Although, some things still looked the same. The same couples were hanging with each other, playing, laughing, loving. Flings, potential lovers, situationships, thrived even even in our last moments. Some cliques, a few, still weren't mixing up with others they weren't familiar with. I mean, the Class F girls who were present, only talked to themselves, basically. Girls like Miranda Archibong was still moving from one boy to the other, one clique to the other, seeking acceptance and validation, from anyone who would give her attention. I sighed at the girl.. hoping one day she would find her self. For the first time ever, I actually felt bad, watching her. She seemed lost in life. Very lost.

"How do you think the Triple J even noticed Yure?" Prissy honestly asked.

"How would we know, Prissy?" I laughed at the question.

"I also want to know the them too," Prissy pouted, turning to our celebrity friend. "Hook us up naw, Shade."

Shade laughed heartily. "I know the perfect birthday gift for you now, love." Prissy squealed, excited. I laughed at the girl, shaking my head at her and playfully rolling my eyes.

Prissy went on to a gist us how her older twin brothers, had been trying to get to the Triple-J in the past, but all to no avail.

"It's as if those boys don't use to answer people oo," Prissy was saying. "My brothers did a dance video to their song, and tagged them die, nothing happened. Till today, the Triple J haven't not seen that video."

"Oh, Prissy," Shade said. "They probably didn't see it. Those boys have over a hundred million followers on Social Media. Do you know how many tags they probably get in one day? And you know they're students like us, and have extra work load, with their career, they can't possibly dedicate all their time to making sure they view every single tag they get on Social Media, naw."

"And somehow they noticed Yure?" I came in. "This thing called Grace." I shook my head, smiling.

"I know right? If the Triple J ever noticed me, I'd faint!" Prissy said and we laughed.

She wouldn't stop talking about them, she went into stalker mode, checking out all the different Instagram accounts of the three teenage celebrities, liking all their posts and commenting, literally spamming the poor guys.

"Oh my God!" She screamed. "They just posted a picture right now!"

Shade and I nearly threw this girl away. She didn't even let us rest, showed us one picture after the other, gushing about everything they did, even if they literally did nothing in the pictures.

"Just look at Jamal's eyes," she practically drooled at her screen. She pushed the phone to me and Shade to show us the most recent post on their band page. They boys were all together - all dangerously, handsome boys with the most georgeous, long hairs, and perfect dark skin. Jamal was in the middle of the other two, Jerry and Jide, by his sides. They were apparently jamming up to their latest song with Yure.

"Are his eyes real? Jamal's eyes? Are they real?" I had to ask. I mean, his eyes... They looked a stunning shade of grey. At intervals in the video, the lighting did something spectacular to it, turned it into an exotic electrical silver colour that shook me. Wow. He was georgeous. Prissy wasn't bluffing. These boys were beautiful.

Prissy was quick to spam the comments. After Shade had confirmed Jamal's eyes were real, she decided she had to drop a comment on their post as well. Me? I passed... For now.

"They'll probably never reply my comments," Prissy lamented, laughing at herself either ways and accepting her fate.

"Prissy, don't be like that," Shade nudged her playfully. Like Shade said, the boys couldn't be blamed. They had wayy to many comments to pick up to.

Shade's phone chimed with a notification and she went "oh", glanced at her phone, and put it away, concluding that whatever she saw was... Usual to her.

"What was that? A message?" Prissy asked her.

"Nah," She said. "Instagram notification."

Okay.

"Triple J just replied my comment. I turned my data off." She said again, and I burst into laughter at how Prissy's eyes bulged out from it's socket.

It was hilarious. Prissy had been spamming them with likes and comments for the last thirty minutes and nothing happened. Shade commented, barely a minute ago, and they replied ever so quickly.

Shade gasped, realising. "Chill, Chill!"

She was laughing now. "Look, I'm close to them, okay? That's different."

"Those boys are sweet," she assured us. "Check their last post. It already has thousands of comments in less than an hour, and over a million likes. Come on? They're humans, not robots. Atleast, they still try, despite all odds, to still reply every single comments of everyone they know. That's enough, to me."

I got her point. If I ever get famous and had that much likes, in millions, and comments in thousands, in just less than an hour, I'd probably have a headache. Still... That wouldn't stop me from always making sure to reply all my friends. It's just the decent thing to do.

We reached the basketball court and were soon chilling at the benches and having some snacks that we had picked up from the store. It was all chill and cool, sitting here, talking and laughing with Shade and Prissy, and watching into the court as our set boys took charge of it, having their own fun, playing basket ball with each other.

I wouldn't lie to you. The first person I noticed on that court was Ivandor. Not just because Aaron didn't fail to jump at any opportunity to yell "FEJAUN" the entire time on the court ...

I wouldn't lie. My feelings for Ivandor hadn't changed. Not at all.

We had talked only but a few times, most times on phone, having WAEC was an obstruction as at then and after it, we had about a break of two months, at home. However, even though we hadn't talked that much in these past months, once in a while, I thought about him..... Somehow wishing things didn't go down the way they did... But one thing I had learned from everything that went down this session was that everything happens for a reason. Everything.

He looked so good on the field though. His muscles looked bigger, showed and displayed themselves through the blue jersey he was wearing. I didn't know if I was the only one who had noticed... how much stronger he looked.

Was it just me?

His skin was brighter. Granted, being at home more and probably not leaving, he was exposed to less sun. His hair was fuller, longer, more curly... He had wrapped it all down in a low man bun and I could see he did something to the tips of it. The bun itself was a grey colour... A contrast to the usual dark brown colour of his hair.

He had the ball in his hands now. I watched him run around the court, effortlessly bouncing it and having the other boys call out to him for a pass. Instead, he had scored, causing cheers to erupt everywhere, amongst our spectators.

"Isn't it crazy how we may never get to see these people again," Prissy commented as the boys all continued their game after Ivandor's shot.

We talked about it. After graduation, we wouldn't see a lot of our classmates again. Everyone would be going their seperate ways from there. Some may still be reachable, others, we may never get to see or hear of them, through our lifetime. And to be honest.. that sucked.

Honestly.... Once upon a time I wished to just graduate secondary school and never get to see my classmates again... But to be frank, I will miss these people. I will miss my classmates. Whether I liked it or not, even if I had good and bad experiences with them, they still made up my secondary school life, as well as impacting a part of my life as well.

And as I watched Ivandor on the court, glossed through memories, good and bad, I wondered if they'd ever be a chance for us in the future. If fate would allow that... But oh well.

"Oh, so y'all are checking out my cousin now, aye?"

We stopped at the new voice.

"Kriss!" Prissy went immediately.

Krisdana. The halfcaste girl who literally just sashayed her way into our group and comfortably balanced herself on the bench with us, adjusted the vintage glasses to the top of her head, waved to Prissy, blew a kiss at Shade, and side smiled, or smirked at me, before crossing her legs, showcasing the chic black boots she was wearing, along side her dope camouflage cargo pants.

"I love your top though," Shade complimented her and Krisdana smiled at her, dismissively looking at her own top like she saw nothing special about it to warrant the compliment from Shade.

Along side the green camouflage cargo pants and sleek black boots, Krisdana was also rocking this black, baggy, long-sleeved turtle neck crop top. Rounding the look up with those vintage glasses, Kris looked like she came here to kill. However, she seemed like that wasn't her motive. She probably believed what she had on was modest.

"Thanks," she replied Shade. "But is that why you guys were checking my cousin out, though?" Krisdana was teasing us, even laughing at her own accusation.

"No we weren't," Shade laughed.

Well, I was...

"Lemme hear!" Kris dismissed her.

"Okay and so? What if we were checking Ivan out? He's fine as hell," Prissy said.

Krisdana laughed. Like really threw her head back and laughed, took my water bottle from me, without even asking permission, drank from it, dropped it back on me, before casually going ahead to genuinely reply Prissy's comment. "Eww."

Just then, Chika and her friends appeared, literally, these girls weren't here before and suddenly, were in front of us.

"Hey, Girls!" They waved to us and we acknowledged them.

"So, you guys know Prom is tommorow!" Chika announced to us.

"Yes we know, Chi." I answered.

"Okay so, the we're handling the nominations for the Prom awards and we need your opinion." Chika said to us.

"Ouu, I'm liking this!" Prissy sounds excited.

Chika explained that they possibly could not meet every single one in the set to nominate, so she, along side Aaron, Casper and the others behind the awards, had selected some specific sets of people... Of which I was among. So the girls asked us to nominate in categories and all of that.

I nominated Krisdana and Chika for 'Most influential female in the set', and they, as well as Shade and Prissy were adamant that I should be the one taking the crown. Chika ended up writing down all our names. We nominated Shade and Ivandor for 'best baffer', female and male. In order words, the people who knew how to show up in the best outfits, during parties or fancy occasions. Shade also nominated Krisdana, and she felt she didn't deserve the nomination.

Chika insisted that Shade couldn't run for 'Most likely to be a model', since she already was a model... But after nominating a few other girls, we finalised it by nominating Ivandor as well. Prissy nominated Yure for 'Best Singer' and we were all on the same page. I nominated Shade and Nova for 'Best Couple' and everyone agreed. We all took our time, nominating and nominating, and Chika kept noting all our considerations down in her notepad.

"Are any of you running for Prom Queen?" Chika asked, looking directly at me, as though the question was directed to me.

"Oh no," I easily declined.

"We also have to nominate for that?" Prissy asked.

"Nope," Chika answered. "Anyone who wants to run is free to apply. We have about 6 prom princesses and 4 prom princes."

"Why don't you run, Kris?" I nudged her.

"I'd look good in a crown.." she thought about it. "But, nah. I'll pass."

"Prissy can go." Shade suggested and Prissy's eyes went wide immediately.

"Yeah, yeah," I agreed, loving the idea.

Prissy didn't even have the chance to object. Chika had already penned down her name and it was finalised.

"I won't win," Prissy shrugged as soon as Chika was gone.

"Prissy, don't say that," I smiled at her.

"No, seriously. I saw the list of girls running..." She sighed, like she was giving up. "People like Chika and Kelechi are there. Girls in our set love Kelechi, guys are obsessed with Chika." She shrugged again. "I don't stand a chance."

I felt bad for her. Wished there was a way to make her feel better, but.... It was true. She really didn't stand a chance. Why did we even make her run?

"It doesn't matter," Krisdana said to Prissy. "The perks of being prom royalty, even if it's just a princess is massive. Take advantage. After all, it's prom. Instead of thinking about winning or losing, just enjoy your night." She smiled at Prissy, rubbed her shoulder to make her feel better and Prissy blushed, appreciation filled her eyes.

Nova joined our gathering soon enough, first hugging Shade from behind and showering her with kisses and compliments. Ofcourse, he didn't forget to dazzle every one of us by also showering compliments, and in seconds of his arrival, we were all laughing, filled with warmth and happiness.

"I'm going to miss you girls," he told us over and over, and we felt the same way, to be honest.

Krisdana, for some reason, decided to engage us in a more serious talk and she asked, "What are all your plans after secondary school?"

Well, Krisdana revealed that she and Ivandor may either be going to South Africa, precisely her brother's school... Or, they may have to move to the U.S to further their education.

I actually felt a tug at my chest, realising that Ivandor and I may end up being so far away from each other.... But, I forced myself to not think of it .

I told them that I had applied for a scholarship in Havard and I was looking towards the line of Medicine. Nova also talked about venturing into the medical field as well. Shade disclosed that she may not have the chance to physically go to a University, but she was thinking of getting an online degree. Prissy opened up about Mechanical Engineering.

"I also want to start an online movement, or campaign, whatever it's called," she admitted to us.

"Against bullying," she further explained, "I want to reach out to all kids out there in the world."

The idea spoke to me. I mean, hearing Prissy decide to do that really meant a lot.

"I'll join you," I said willingly and she beamed at me.

"Me too." Someone else had also said.

Someone else..?

We all froze at the familiar, unfamiliar voice that just butted into our conversation.

"Ajiro?" Prissy nearly choked on her coke.

Ajiroghene.. Yes. It was really her. She was standing there in front of us, smiling proudly, not afraid to show us that she meant what she just said.

"The anti-bullying idea.. I like. Mae we run am, what do you say?" Again with that thing Ajiro did with her lips thay looked like a smile.

Was she being serious?

I saw Prissy smile at the girl and I could see that from the strange way that the corner of her lips lifted, Ajiro was actually smiling.. At me. At Prissy. At all of us..

"Sure," Prissy agreed with her.

And then that was when all the boys from the court started to round up with their game. I could see them, most of them, either getting off the court, or getting ready to.

My eyea darted to Ivandor, who was packing his things into a bag.... Also getting ready to leave.

"You're here to take me away for rehearsals?" Kris had joked with Ajiro, successfully distracting me from Ivandor.

Ajiro nodded and I frowned. Rehearsals?

"What rehearsals?" Shade took the words out of my mouth.

"Set girls' performances," Prissy answered promptly, standing up to join Kris and Ajiro.

Wait... She knew about it too? She was a part?

"C'mon, Giwa, Shade, aren't y'all in this set?" Krisdana laughed at us.

Prissy rather explained it.

"Entertainment night." She started.

Right, It was tonight. Apparently, that was alao a reason why SS3s' had to come to school. By the hours of 8 to 10, we were having a program... An entertainment night, open for virtually all students... And well, a few teachers and parents too, who felt like wasting their time to watch our set sing, dance or deliver one nice performance or the other. It happened every year. The entertainment night, Prom and Graduation were the highlight of our last days.

"Set girls are recreating a dance drama for 'My power' by Beyonce," Prissy explained.

"Suggested by Chika," Krisdana continued. "I think the idea is stunning. Atleast, we girls, get to show them how powerful we are on that stage."

Hmm... Nice. I'm loving this.

"We're going to kill it," Ajiro was saying. "All these hard two months of practicing definitely wasn't in vain."

They had also talked about this two months ago, and even started practice? Wow, Giwa, you better start keeping up with things.

Krisdana, Prissy and Ajiro were leaving together... I watched behind them, shocked out of my mind, wondering how on Earth they decided, in their right senses, to work together.

"Is that a tattoo?" Nova had pointed out behind the leaving girls.

That was when I observed slowly.

Krisdana's back...

There was an artistically designed image of a butterfly, tattooed, at the lower part of Krisdana's back, half of it seeming to dissappear into the green camouflage cargo pants she was wearing.

"It is a tatoo," I had confirmed.

"Okay, woah." Shade seem impressed.

I watched behind the girls, Kris particularly, as she proudly flaunted that tattoo on her back, adjusted those vintage glasses back on her face and walked in the middle of both girls, confidence and feminine swag oozing out of her.

"At this point, we have to agree that Krisdana may be the coolest girl on the planet, right?"

We all laughed.

"Yo, man. What's up?" Nova had greeted the new individual that soon joined us, exchanging pleasantries.

I froze.

"Ivandor," Shade acknowledged him with a smile.

That's when I involuntarily raised my head to him, directly making eye contact with him. I didn't know why, maybe because I hadn't seen him in about a month, but the penetration of his hazel eyes into mine hit different.

"Hi." He smiled at me, and I smiled back.

I hadn't gotten over Ivandor...

Our meet and greet was instantly caught short when loud, screeching noise of screaming, hysteric girls, followed the arrival of a Mercedes Car into the area.

We all looked.... Barely a distance away from us, by the road side that led into the open space that all our classmates were crowded in. Girls, girls, and more girls, literally crowded the car, completely, successfully blocking the road for whoever the poor person was in it, and rendering them no chance or space to move further.

"Isn't that Yure's car?" Nova said.

Yure? Yure was the one getting fan-attacked like that?

"Poor guy," Shade commented, like it was a relatable situation to her. She turned to Nova, "They aren't going to leave him alone anytime soon," she told Nova.

She had easily convinced Nova into following her to go and redeem Yure from the clutches of crazy classmates. Nova went with her.

Well, indirectly.... They left me with Ivandor.

"I've been meaning to talk to you," he went straight to the point with me, gently joining me on the bench.

"You could have texted," I told him.

"I meant in person," he elaborated, looking at me a certain way that had me confused.

He was looking at me in a way I had missed. The same way he always looked at me before shit went down with us. I lost my breath for nearly a second.

However, I didn't have time to answer.

"FEJAUN!"

The other boys had taken him away from me. He had excused himself, politely, explaining that he had most of the entire team's stuff in his bag. He promised to properly have this conversation with me when he was less busy.

I smiled when he left. I couldn't help, but wonder what he had to tell me. I couldn't help, but anticipate.

I hadn't gotten over Ivandor...

What if he hadn't gotten over me too?

Well, I was looking forward to talking to him, later during the day.

I didn't see him till evening.... And Krisdana had found me and literally dragged me along with her, forced me even to watch the set girls' rehearse their dance for the entertainment night.

Oh well, I wouldn't say I regretted it. It was fun watching them, getting awed by unspeakable talent. These girls impressed me. They actually had me looking forward to the Entertainment Night.

I couldn't help but admire Krisdana's in-charge nature. She literally led our set girls, instructed them, corrected wrong moves, perfected them, and they had willingly co-operated. They let her take charge of the whole rehearsal. I suddenly started wondering again why I never liked this girl before. She and I were a LOT alike.

And boy, Krisdana could DANCE! I wouldn't say she was the best dancer amongst the girls, but through her unique method of dancing, the way she carried her body effortlessly with the song, her charisma, and the way that she made it impossible to not watch only her, even if she wasn't the best, made me believe even more that the girl was a born performer.

They were doing a cheorography to Lil boi, big talk by Ayanis and Queen Naija, and she made people like Ziba, who weren't much into the contemporary type of dance to easily blend in. Dabeluchi - a girl from Chika's clique, who I saw to be more closed off than the others, surprised me the most. I concluded she was, by far, the best dancer amongst the girls. She moved her body in ways I didn't believe a human could.

"Giwa, how are we doing??" Ziba had asked me with wide hopeful eyes, genuinely seeking my opinion.

"Amazing," I was completely honest with her.

"Oh, stop!" Krisdana had cheesed, before going back to business, telling Ziba to solely dance a part of the song that she felt she was faltering in, helping her, at the same time, reprimanding her to perfection.

I smiled at them. Mentally, I commended Ziba for two things. One, having so much respect for Krisdana. By right, she had lost the post of Social Prefect to Krisdana in Ss2, by a hundred plus votes. Seeing how important that post had always been to Ziba, Kris turned it down for her. And even during this rehearsal, Ziba didn't seem to get any way intimidated or annoyed by Krisdana taking charge, even when she came across as being a little....bossy. She didn't get offended. Not one bit.

In the end, the entire class was filled up with dozens of classmates, sneaking a peak at our set girls' dance. Funny how nearly the entire set was witnessing the dance before the performance tonight. Ofcourse, the rehearsals didn't last for long after the class was filled up like that, it quickly switched off and broke into an open dance off.

Chika's speakers blasted 'My touch' ft Eugy, and it got even crazier when Aaron and Casper entered the class. It turned into a 'girls verses boys' thing, led by Aaron and Casper, themselves, and well, Ziba and Kris basically. The whole class cheered for them, urged them onn, aye'd and ohh'd, and when Acha and Dabeluchi took the stage, all hell apparently broke loose. They literally shook the class, with their sick moves, and their sensual dancing, and with the unbelievable noise my classmates made cheering them on, I started to fear the workers around would send reports to the school authority to report what was happening in class.

All in all, I could proudly say I had fun. A lot. Soon after the rehearsals were rounded on, Krisdana gripped my arm and I left to our lodges with she, and Prissy.

Dinner was by 6pm and in no time, the cafeteria was filled up with our classmates. Apparently, everyone still seemed to be filled with energy and I guess that was a good thing. I had never seem my classmates so happy, joyful... And permit me to add, noisy.

For the first time, I wasn't irritated by the noise. Maybe it was the serenity and euphoria associated with the night, but I saw myself jamming up to all the songs Chika blasted through her Bluetooth speaker in the cafeteria. The rest of the set expressed their joy at it's peak, slamming the tables, drumming on their plates with their forks and spoons, and singing out loud to 24K magic by Bruno Mars.

I had the ultimate time with my girls. I videoed Prissy trying, and failing, to balance a spoon on her nose. Krisdana had successfully confused the food servers into believing that we hadn't had drinks yet. We ended up filling ourselves up with more than four cups of lemonade. Shade went live, making sure to engage her over 500k live viewers in our fun stupidity and laughs.

It felt too good being this happy with them. We laughed together, even had a mini food fight on the table and Shade didn't miss a single thing out of her live video. Although... Somewhere deep down, I wished that Hassana was here to witness this much fun with us....but I knew our happiness could no way be compared to hers'.

"ATTENTION! ATTENTION, EVERYONE!"

We all turned to the voices that literally just alerted the entire cafeteria, only to see Aaron and Casper, standing in the space, created in the middle of the Cafeteria, confidently waving their hands to get the attention of the entire set.

What are these boys up to now?

"Okay, lovely classmates, Can I have all your attention?" Aaron was the one who announced first and ofcourse, he was Aaron. Everyone listened to him.

"Okay, I just wanted to say something, but before I start, just know I'm not usually an emotional person_"

His speech was cut off by the chorused "aww" from everyone in the set and both he and Casper laughed.

"These boys," Krisdana playfully rolled her eyes.

"Okay okay okay," Aaron was calming the noise down with a wave of his hands.

"So," he continued. "I just feel too happy tonight and I want to voice out my feelings right now.."

No offense.... But who asked him though? I laughed a little. These boys. For some reason, I wanted to hear what he had to say. All the girls too seemed attentive.

"This set, I love you guys so much and we have barely two days before we graduate. I'm going to miss you all, I'm going to miss being a part of this set and..."

Another chorus of 'aww' took over. Shade blushed.

"That's actually sweet," she said. I nodded in agreement. Krisdana and Prissy had smiles on their faces.

Aaron went on to give a whole ass sentimental speech and his pal did the exact same thing.

"Okay and also, important announcement.." Casper was the one talking now.

"Please let's all endeavour to be seated in the hall for the Entertainment night, before 8pm. Please, please, please. I know we all have to go and dress up and look our best and I support that, yunno, but let's try not to be late, okay? It won't look good if our guests come and have to wait so long to see us," he announced intently.

Casper took this Social Prefect post quite seriously...

"And please," he continued. "Everyone working backstage, or performing, should endeavor to be there before 7pm_"

An uproar of whining and opposition cut poor Casper off. Krisdana and I worked backstage (she was also performing), and even she, didn't seem too pleased with the time Casper had set.

"Okay fine, fine, 7:30, Is that okay?" Casper had come to a compromise with the set and they were settled.

He had also announced that all backstage people get their badges from him before leaving the cafeteria. Funny, they were the ones who approached me and Krisdana to hand us our badges.

"You look beautiful, by the way," Casper complimented Kris, and all the girls on the table raised their brows at the boy.

He suddenly realized what he said and suddenly announced to us all, "You ALL look beautiful!"

That got the table laughing. Before he left with Aaron, I could easily pick it up. That lingering eye contact, the softened look in his eyes on seeing Krisdana....

Casper was hopelessly in love with her...

I felt bad for him. Seemed to me to be a case of one sided love. Well, shit happens in life.

We left the cafeteria to walk into a gathering of classmates, who despite Casper's plea to be early enough to the main hall, were all talking with each other, laughing, and playing.

Needless to say, we did same. We hung around, infront of the Cafeteria where everyone else was and Krisdana was talking about doing all our make up and making us look fab for the night. I wondered why we had to stop walking to talk... But I should have guessed that my girls had something planned for me this night.

Right in the middle of Krisdana's unfinished talk, someone else had stepped into our gathering, successfully causing her talking to seize.

Prissy sighed, muttering something like, 'Oh thankGod."

Shade smiled at him. Our intruder. "Took you long enough."

I frowned, confused. Ivandor was the one standing there. The one that the girls had apparently been waiting for?

Crazy because I don't recall seeing him in the cafeteria. And then here he was, infront of us. Infront of me... His tall frame, literally hovering above me, only me, like he was only interested in talking to me.

"So, cous!" Kris was quick to address him, " You're ready, na?" She winked at him teasingly.

Ready? Ready for what?

He had smiled at her, a full smile, the one that usually warmed my heart, then sort of laughed under his breath. Even the girls looked like they were encouraging him on something. It only confused me. I was certain of one thing; They all have talked about something. Something I didn't know about.

Krisdana ruffled Ivandor's hair which was let free and unpacked tonight, and in seconds, she and the girls, left us, giggling and laughing to themselves.

"Umm.. Is it safe for me to ask what the hell is going on?" I had to ask Ivandor.

Ivandor shrugged, smiled, focused hazel eyes on me and finally opened his mouth to speak.

"I just wanted to ask you to go to prom with me, Giwa."
