Surprise ooo, Triple updates!!!

I was so excited to do this tbh, I promised I'd surprise you guys ome day, and yayy, I'm finally doing so❤️

So, basically, this chapter is very special to me because;

1) I used it to shed some light on characters that you may see starring in my future books 😋😋

2) I used it to remind you all of some secondary school fun times that you may relate to (hopefully it would be relatable to you too, 'cause they were to me❤️)

3) To tease you oo. Teaser oo. We have a special guest you all know well oo 😋 (winks at Rihanna_Adedeji  )

Song for the chapter is Already by Beyonce and Shatta Wale. Why? Because the song is mad at and makes me feel like dancing even if I'm a terrible dancer 😂❤️

~SHADE~

"How can you text me by 6am in the morning and spontaneously just tell me that you want the Sophia Williams at our Karaoke Wing it Party!?" I literally screamed at Casper over the phone.

"It wasn't exactly spontaneous..okay, maybe it was, but you talk to her, naw. You two are friends...."

"Pfft Pfft Pfft!" I sarcastically cut him off before he had the chance to continue what he was saying, and I virtually heard him holding his thought over the line.

"You know what, Casper? I'm on my way to you and the rest of the other guys right now! Just wait for me!" I said over the phone, before hanging up, and giving off a sigh of frustration.

"What's wrong?" Rachel asked me.

I turned to the dark lady who sat right beside me, in my limo - one of the members of Madam K's team, who was always the nicest to me.

"Nothing, it's just some boys in my set." I informed her.

"Any problem?" She asked further.

I felt she had the right to know.

Rachel was the one of the people who had helped tame Madam K a bit. Infact, at the moment, I was heading to the schools' event centre to meet the party committee planners and our media guys, and I would have been at a 'pop up' photo shoot right now if Rachel hadn't taken control.

"They want Sophia Williams at our party." I explained to her.

"Sophia Williams? The model?" She inquired.

How many 'Sophia Williams' does the whole of Nigeria know? Of course, it was the model. An A class model at that. Name one celebrity asides Shade Onam that Nigerians could die for; Sophia Williams.

And Casper Bassey asked me to bring her out of the blues. Someone who just like me, always has a hectic super model schedule for each of her days. They should have informed me in advance. Instead, they just decided over night to have her at the venue, thinking they could so easily butt into, and disarrange the poor girl's schedule.

"Won't Sophia be too busy for that?" Rachel had asked me.

I only sighed. My exact thoughts. I had texted her already in the morning, roughly after Casper had texted. It was already half past 8am and I could proudly say that it would be a miracle if she consented and showed up for such a spontaneous and unplanned invitation.

"Oh well," I said to Rachel. "We'll just have to see how today goes."

Of course.

That instant, my iphone chimed immediately with a text message. I picked it up from where it lay on my lap, and my eyes lighted up instantly, on seeing the message ID. Sophia Williams.

We reached the School's Event Centre in no time.

Castron High school had another branch that was not too far away from the main school. It wasn't a school building, rather, as the name implies, it was more of an event centre.

Whenever there was a major school event like the Induction Ceremony, Student, teachers and parents day, planned cultural events, and in the case of the SS3s', our prom and our graduation, it all took place in that very venue. Just in the same way, the School's Karaoke Wing it Party was taking place there too, organised and spontaneously planned by our knuckle head Social Prefect boy, Casper Bassey.

"Go to the main hall." I had instructed audibly as soon as we drove in through the red gates of the CH Event Centre. The limo driver obliged.

As I was informed, the party was happening in the main hall itself. The biggest one there. However, it had been scheduled to start by 6pm in the evening and round up by 8, everyone involved in the planning committee as well as the media had to be there much earlier. I wasn't involved in any. I just wanted to go there and give those boys a piece of my mind.

As we drove down and towards the hall, I admired the view of the place. It was beautiful. It was beautiful, just like Castron High itself. Georgeous, healthy flowers decorated nearly everywhere we passed. The buildings were large and well erected, most of them painted red and white, the signature colour identified with Castron High itself. The red and white pavements that mounted by the sides of the buildings, and by each side of the roads and paths were similar to that of school, only looking newer, as clearly it was not tampered with much, having that students only came here once in a while.

I was dropped off on the path leading to the main hall before the limo left. I could already hear muffled loud music coming from inside the building and it became clear to me that the others were already present and dwelling there. That is - the Sets' planning committee and the media.

I stared up at the giant white and red building as I walked towards it and smiled, satisfied at how good it looked, and also not forgetting to mentally note the uncanny resemblance it had to the building of Castron High's school hall itself.

The inside was different though. While Castron High's school hall was properly arranged with seats at every corner, in this semi circle. This one had seats alright...but it was quite different.

I could tell they had already worked on it for the party because of how glorious the place looked.

There were these large italian-brand couches and sofas'. All of them were arranged to form a huge semi-circle, and were duplicated into about ten whole rows, a semi circle of couches and sofas' arranged right behind the other. They all had stools by each side of their ends and beautiful flower vases were kept on them, along side a bowl of assorted sweets.

All in all, the arrangement was made in a way that it was possible that the audience would be comfortable and directly face the large, spacey stage.

Okay, wow. I didn't expect this. It was beyond beautiful.

I also noticed that special, fancy round tables were randomly placed in different centres of the hall too, each one of them dressed with a fine white, laced material, and each table was surrounded with either two or three seats - the kinds I only see at celebrity events, and they were either blue or red.

Normal, random seats were still stacked at corners of the hall and I guess those were kept for extra purposes - just in case people ran out of seats during the party or something.

I also noted that at the edges of the hall, I saw some large rectangular tables, each clothed in lace blue materials, but with nothing on them. I figured they were going to keep food and drinks on them when the party was about to commence.

I also didn't forget to note how squeaky clean the place was. I could almost see my reflection through the tiled floors even. Even if the lights weren't all turned on, I could already see heaven in this place. My classmates really out did themselves.

It took me so off-guard that I even didn't note the muffled music I was hearing from outside was clearer, precisely coming from upstairs. I could recognise the song playing. It was Dangote by Burna Boy.

My eyes moved to the stairway that led upstairs, where my classmates were probably doing whatever in there. Instantly getting reminded of why I came here in the first place, I walked towards the fleet of stairs and headed straight to the media room to find Casper.

Right from the stairs I was climbing, Ibwas already hearing loud, reckless laughter and louder baritone voices booming from the media room upstairs.

Oh, Ss3 Boys.

As soon as I got to the door of the media room that Dangote was blaring out from, I pushed it right open immediately.

Simutaneously, all eyes moved to me and there was a moment of silence as the boys took in my presence.

Nova was there with them, sitting by the right side on one of our class boys, Nnaemeka, who had an apple desktop in front of him. Another of them, Chido, sat at Nnaemeka's left.

However, I noticed that they were the only ones sitting. Those big heads, Aaron and Casper who I actually came for, stood there, craning their necks in to view the laptop that Nova and the others were focusing on.

There weren't the only ones there. A bunch of other boys that I didn't recognize from our set, gathered around there as well. I figured they were probably juniors, some roughly looked closer to our ages, while the others were clearly junior junior boys. I also noticed that only one girl was present in the entire gathering...a girl I recognised well to be in SS2.

They all seemed  engrossed in something very important before I walked in - probably something that had to do with the sound system for the party or something. However, I managed to grab all their attention from it as soon as I barged into the room.

Nova's eyes lit up as he saw me, and a sweet smile appeared on his lips. Unfortunately, I barely had the chance to return his smile, because the entire room erupted into a heated round of applause that Aaron and Casper majored in.

It took me off guard, but I completely lost it and cracked up badly when Aaron and Casper started to chorus at the same time "Shades of green. Shades of green" over and over again.

"Omo, see entrance, na!" Aaron commented, still applauding.

"Like! See how she even looks fire oo. As if she's even coming for the main party!" Casper commented himself, trying to over shadow Aaron's clapping.

Most of the juniors weren't clapping with them, but were rather either laughing or trying to stiffle their laughter.

It was actually funny because all I had on was a green dress shirt hoodie and knee high black boots. Dressing to kill wasn't even in my agenda when I threw this on, so it was hard to tell of these boys were actually serious or just whining me.

"Babe, just finish us, we are your data!" Aaron joked, still whining.

"Spit on us, we are your 'godforbid'!" Casper came in with his own, completely killing me and everyone else with uncontrollable laughter.

"Hey hey hey!" A laughing Nova stood us, calling attention to himself with a wave of his hands.

"Can you guys stop hitting on my babe now?" He hollered at Aaron and Casper, cracking everyone up some more and involuntarily making me flush.

"Mad oo!" One of the junior boys commented, and Aaron playfully, but painfully slapped the guy at the back of his head. Very hard.

"What is mad oo! You dey chook ear for senior man gist, you dey crase?" He jokingly attacked the poor boy.

"Dude, free the guy na!" Nova was telling Aaron as he made his way towards me.

"What's good, babe?" He asked me softly as soon as he got to me, sliding his arms around my waist, and pulling me towards his body to plant a short kiss on my lips.

I let him, even if he was showing a public display of affection, even in front of all these juniors.

"Me, I also want my own baby, sha." Casper's stupid comment interrupted us and caused everyone to burst into laughter all over again.

Oh, Lord. What will I do with the boys of my set?

Funny, though. Look at Shade Onam who swore to have Casper's head on a plate. She is here in the media room, laughing her pathetic ass off and succumbing to the mad boys' wits.

"But, seriously, guys.." I actually addressed them with a stern look on my face that adruptly caused them all to be silent. One of Nova's hands remained wrapped around my waist, almost even snuggling closer and I tried not to get distracted by it.

"You don't text me on a random and ask me to make a big celebrity like Sophia Williams appear in your front. She's a very busy person and you don't have to forget that she is also a student like you too." I reprimanded them.

"Chai.." Casper made a low sound. They actually looked repentant.

"Oya, tell her sorry for us, na." He added in a small tiny voice that brought small giggles up.

"Casper, I'm serious." I said.

"Okay, see see. I'm sorry. It's not my fault. Ziba and I talked about the whole thing and we couldn't find a better time to fix the party than today. And we made that decision yesterday evening...so you see, we knew people may be reluctant to come since it was close to exams time and it was so spontaneous...so we needed an urgent plan. Ziba suggested this morning that we invite Sophia Williams since you knew her, that way, people would be forced to show up, you grab? So, that's why I texted you this morning." Casper thoroughly explained.

I sighed, understanding. "Fine."

"So, she's coming, abi?" Aaron but in, grinning widely. Casper's face suddenly morphed from sober soft to an even larger toothy grin than Aarons' in seconds.

I actually had to laugh.

"But no for real? She's coming, right?" Chido, who I thought was too engrossed with Nnaemeka and the computer also asked too, eyes full of expectancy.

They all looked at me. Their eyes, hoping, almost desperate, as they waited for my answer.

I sighed. Then, decided to tell them what Sophia Williams had texted me back. "She'll be here by 6:30pm."

The entire atmosphere broke into heavy cheers that shook grounds. Even Nnaemeka, who had been staring at his computer and acting like nothing was his business, actually smiled. The juniors looked elated as well, some of them, boldly and visibly even expressing their joy out loud with my set boys too.

"Looks like you've saved the day." Nova smiled at me, leading me gently to a separate corner from the guys.

"Nah," I shook my head. "Sophia did."

Nova took me by the hand, and walked me down to a free, less crowded section of the room. All the way we walked, some of the juniors around waving me  his', and I only smiled back curtly.

"Girl, I love your hair! You're always looking so take-away!"  The Ss2 girl present who I wasn't even familiar with, had complimented me too.

I smiled, saying a simple Thankyou, and feeling bad for not giving her back the same jumpy energy she giving me.

I ended up sitting with Nova through out and we were talking, laughing, loving without any distractions, while Casper, as the Social Prefect and lead at this, was busy giving most of the orders to the juniors in the media team and getting things done.

I couldn't help, but notice how the media room looked like a mini studio. Infact, it was a mini studio to think about it. Asides lacking all the mics and mic stands ofcourse, loads of 'mixing and mastering' equipments, musical instruments, and DJ boards took most of the space in the room.

Still, I Ioved the space of the place. It wasn't too small, and it wasn't too big either. It was just right. Every thing was just right. The atmosphere, my classmates...Nova, my ivory prince. To be honest, I wasn't ready to leave just yet.

"Who get beta playlist for this place?" Aaron suddenly called out, his voice resounding round the entire room, even from where he was.

Apparently, he looked tired. Visibly bored, even, by the 60s' type songs that had been blaring through the speakers. I mean, Everyone was. Whose playlist was that anyway?

"My guy, I dey hear oo!" Michael, one of the junior boys, an Ss2 I could recognise,  alerted Aaron so confidently, waving his hands.

I was almost shocked at how bold and free this Ss2 boy was being with Aaron. Even having the extra boldness to address him as 'my guy'?

Aaron even surprised me more with how receptive he was to the Michael guy. He gave back the same energy.

"You get sharp playlist?" He hollered at the guy, welcomly even walking towards him with so much vigour and vibrance.

"Sharpest sef!" The Michael guy retorted confidently still, gesturing with so much exxageration and actually making our set boys to laugh.

"Correct guy!" Aaron praised him, and Michael did a playful gesture of 'feeling himself' before he and Aaron exchanged a guys' handshake that looked too planned and rehearsed to be spontaneous.

They actually had me raising my brow. Infact, I raised two when our set boys were just ultimately flowing with the giant-heighted, light-skinned, stupidly handsome, cocky Ss2 boy.

I mean, I had seen that boy before. The Ss2 boy, I mean. Michael. I had to have seen him, even if I didn't want to. He was like the king of Ss2. Of course, I had heard that he flowed so well with our set boys too, because of how good at sports he was and all, but, I didn't know he actually flowed this good with them.

"Michael, bring your phone and connect your stuff to Nana's speaker." Chido had hollered at him, and he agreed.

"Abel!" Michael called out to one of his friends. Another Ss2 boy. One whose face I had seen hanging around a lot with Michael.

"Guy, bring my phone." Michael had ordered the Abel guy and he was actually obliging.

"Be sharp, guy!"  Aaron impatiently shouted to the Abel guy, who sped up at command and got the phone to Michael. In no time, a hip song, 'Already' from Beyonce's visual album that had trended some years ago blasted every where and set the place ablaze.

Put aside Aaron who seemed non - challant, I had observed that our set boys weren't too fund of that Abel of a guy, as they were with Michael.

In fact, through my observation, they didn't even like the guy. The reason was unclear to me. Abel appeared to me as a seemingly quiet boy that pulled off a charming geeky handsomeness with those glasses he always had on. There was really nothing much to him except his ambassadoral deal and his good looks that made our set girls find of him.

Or did my set guys dislike him because my set girls liked him?

I quickly shook off the thought. It didn't completely add up or make sense. Our set girls were also fund of Michael, yet the guy was gees with nearly all the Ss3 boys of Castron High. So, it couldn't be the reason.

"Oh, so you people don't want to check out my playlist, abi? Nobody wants to talk to Tobi now oo!" A feminine voice that just reffered to themselves in third person, spoke up all of a sudden, having a teasing, contagiously playful tone to her voice.

There was only one girl in the room, asides me...and it was the Ss2 girl. The same one with all the energy who complemented my hair earlier.

"Ahh, King Tobi!" Aaron exclaimed incredulously, a playful tone to his voice as he addressed the Ss2 girl.

King Tobi..

You know what's funny?

Both that name and the face of the girl were distinctively familiar to me. I heard that name everywhere and saw that face everywhere. Yet, it never occurred to me that there were one.

Sorry. It wasn't my fault I wasn't always at school to note every major thing, lol.

It all made sense now. The Ss2 girl was the King Tobi.

"No oo, don't call me!" She raised her hands in mock surrender. "I'm fighting with all the Ss3 boys in CH oo. I've said my own finish!"

I watched as my set boys rendered and chorused present playful words of appeasement to the girl and I couldn't help, but smile at how funny the whole thing looked.

"Are they always this free with Ss2s?" I had to ask Nova.

His eyes almost shot out of it's sockets, like the answer was so negative.

"No oo!" he deaded me on that immediately. "Asides that Michael guy and few other Ss2s' that actually have sense, it's only King Tobi that we usually joke with like this, lol. You know SS3s' and Ss2s' don't usually mix on a norm." Nova told me. Even he, could testify that that set was cursed.

This 'King Tobi' though. I actually smiled at how easily she flowed with my set boys like they were her brothers. I instantly liked something about her that I couldn't quite figure.

Funny though, it wasn't like she was that pretty. I mean she looked 'okay'. Presentable should be the word.

But, for the fact that she wasn't drop dead georgeous and still, flowed so well with boys. There really was something about her. She sort of exuded this rough, coolness of a boy. A cool, confident, almost masculine kind of aura.

"King Tobi, come show us some love!" Chido called out to the girl and she hopped up from her seat and was dashing out handshakes to all the guys at random, calling them different nicknames and exchanging pleasantries in a loud, unique way.

She was quite..unique. In a way that wasn't exactly easy to explain. She wasn't a tomboy per say... she most definitely wasn't a girly girl either. For one, she goes by 'King Tobi'. She just somehow gave off this rather tomboyish kind of vibes that was easily admirable. I easily liked her. No wonder my set boys loved her too.

But on a serious note ... Was her actual name 'King Tobi'? Like, was that the real name that her parents gave her?

"Alright, you guys, we don't have all day oo. Let's get back to work people!" Casper clapped, announcing to everyone to get back to work.

"We have to finish setting everything up and we still have a long way to go. Let's speed up, okay? Let's co-operate!" He was saying.

"When do we leave to get food and stuff?" Nova beside me, asked him. "You know, it's already past 12."

"Soon. We'll go soon, Nova. Right after we're done with work down here." Casper answered promptly. He suddenly scowled, confusing me, but I understood when his glare set on the junior junior boys that sat idly.

"What are you guys doing sitting around there, doing nothing!" He snapped at the poor boys who I felt were in Jss2 or Jss3 or something. The little boys just moped around each other.

"Guys, don't dull me, okay? You didn't come here to chill around and flex!" He scolded the boys.

"Una no dey here?!" Aaron barked at them, and the boys literally jumped off their seats with the spead of light.

"Come here and do what I'm doing," Chido, who was busy with Nnaemeka on the laptop, hollered to the junior boys.

Nnaemeka rather shook his head indignantly, a slightly irritated look clouding his face. "No, no. Before they'll wreck my computer a second time."

He said that so quietly, yet so rudely. I could swear those were the only words I had heard from him since I got here.

"Nana!" Casper called Nnaemeka. "We are supposed to be nurturing these juniors to learn these things. When we graduate, who will take over the school media?"

Nnaemeka didn't answer him. He just barely grumbled something I didn't catch. I didn't quite get the guy. He almost sounded like nothing here was interesting him and he just wanted to be done with us here and fuck off. And that was the vibes the guy gave off on a general note.

The only thing I ever knew about him was that he was one of the Sets' heart-throbs. I mean, with all due respect to my Nova Igwe, ivory prince and knight in shining armor who I completely adore with all my heart... Nnaemeka was by far the most good-looking guy in this room.

"Oya, Toja come." Casper called one of the junior boys. "You have sense. Lead your classmates. You guys should go upstairs and slot in all the instrumentals for the Karaoke."

Casper still didn't look satisfied, he turned to the Ss2s'. "King Tobi."

"Here!" The girl raised her arm adruptly.

"Follow them and monitor what they do before they spoil something up there." He told her.

"Yes sir!" She saluted Casper and got up immediately, calling all the boys togther and taking them all out of the room playfully, yet promptly. Aaron ruffled the junior boys' hairs as they left, passively-aggressively messing with them, yet genuinely playing and laughing with them as they left the room.

After the work down here, we all needed to leave to get other things for the party, food, being the most major thing.

We all had to pack ourselves in the school bus that went sent down to us for our parole, amd may I say, I had never, ever been in a ride that turned out more fun.

I laughed my ass off in the bus continuously. Aaron and Casper kept doing a 'behind the scenes' video of us all all the way, making sure to catch all the acts and jokes on camera.

It didn't take too long before we reached a temporary stop to pick up our other classmates who had been busy at different venues booking all other things for us.

However, hell was thregtening to set in when our bus broke down all of sudden on the road, but my classmates were undetered, refusing to ne moody or brought down still.

Nova kept assuring me everything would be okay and I believed him. We easily found out way to the main school building and they had let because of our condition and my classmates were still making the most of their time, cracking jokes, making us laugh, and jamming up the place with mad, popping music.

Aaron suggested a thousand times that Already by Beyonce and Shatta Wale be played and soonest, the entire place broke into a dance off between my classmates and they went mad.

The social prefect, Ziba, who we had picked literally became a mad woman, showing off fire dance moves and even having duos and dance offs with that King Tobi girl..the only Ss2 student who had tagged along with us, SS3s' to meet up with our other classmates. It was hilarious how both girls were trying to get me to learn how to dance like them and I kept failing miserably.

All on all, it was fun. The entire thing was terrific. It was actually worthwhile being here.

"We are live, behind the scenes of the Karaoke party. Our bus broke down on the road and we're chilling for the problem to be fixed..." That was Aaron and Casper, both boys talking at the same time into the video they had been making since our drive began. They kept walking to everyone, having them speak into his video, making the entire place lively.

"So, Shade and Nova..." Aaron suddenly came in between me and Nova, while Casper walked in front of us. "What do you have to say being part of the backstage crew??"

I actually laughed, and Nova was the one that answered. "Nothing much oo. As far as my babe is here, this experience can last for a life time."

Nova snatched the phone from Aaron's hands and made sure to get it on camera when he kissed me softly. He handed it back to Aaron and said to him, "I want the whole world to know we are an item."

The two boys actually smiled at us, like they were.. impressed?

"On side note, you two are mad goals!" Casper told us both, before both boys left us.

"We are, aren't we?" Nova smiled at me. I smiled back at him. "Definitely."

I would have called the limo long before now, but I wanted to stay here... with my crazy ass classmates and with my Nova as well.

Soon our bus got fixed and we got back to work, all hands on deck. We all cooperated easily. It took nearly all afternoon, but by 4pm, we had successfully almost set up everything for the party. We were 90% prepared.

We all took a break, going home and changing into our main party outfits, agreeing we would all be back here thirty minutes before the party started.

Time flew like a bird and soon, it clocked six. It was time for the highlight of the day. The Karaoke party.

I arrived with the limo early as we were all told, heading into the media room to meet the others. Damages by Tems was playing when I walked into the media room and as usual, the hyping spree started, compliments flew at me from different corners of the room.

Everyone on the room looked fabulous. All of them, boys and girls, actually looking like A-list celebrities that were about to walk the red carpet.

I had walked in, looking all chic and sophisticated with my outfit and when Nova caught sight of me, his jaw literally dropped.

Shade's outfit over there, yeah, imagine her on that!!

"Wow, Shade.. y-you look amazing." He told me.

He was literally looking at me like I was the world's most priced possession. Like, he couldn't get enough of what he was seeing.

I smiled, actually trying not to blush too much. "Thankyou."

He didn't look too bad himself. He never did. Not even if he wanted to.

"Party don dey unfold oo!" It was Michael who told us all, rushing into the room.

We all rushed out, heading and packing ourselves by the protector outside, watching the people trooping in, multiply rapidly, over and over.

It was happening. The Karaoke Wing it Party.

One of the guys, I wasn't sure who, immediately hit up the speakers downstairs, booming a very loud Rema song for the people already in the party zone and cheers erupted from them downstairs as they all, already started getting into the party mood.

Fifteen minutes into the time and the party was already getting packed as hell. I mean, looking downstairs from the upstairs protector, I could see that the entire place was filled up..to the extent that people were already placing things on the seats to book them, just so they wouldn't strand when the Karaoke itself starts.

Aaron and Casper properly opened the party as the hosts, making jokes on the stage and cracking up the place for everyone.

"Maybe we should go downstairs now?" Nova suggested, and I nodded in agreement.

However, before we had the chance to take action, we were immediately distracted by the loud, scary as hell noise that suddenly turned downstairs into a hell of a market square, nearly even shaking us as we were upstairs in the media room.

"Jesus, what's happening?" Chido was the one who asked in alarm.

We all were scared, wondering what the sudden stampede was all about. Wondering if there was a fire going on down there. Wondering how to run and get out of it, if that was so.

Immediately, King Tobi rushed into the media room from outside where she had been watching the party from the protectors. As soon as she barged in, she screamed at the top of her voice.

"Sophia Williams just arrived!"
