~YURE~
"Did Aaron Godson add you to any group chat recently?" Krisdana asked me, completely averting our topic of discussion right in the middle of our conversation.
I let out a sigh of frustration and looked to Kris, lying next to me on her bed. I sat upright, by the edge of the bed, with my back against the wall, and she laid down by my left, with her back pressed against the bed and her phone close to her face.
"Er, no." I answered.
Since we came to her house this evening, I can't count how many times she had done that. That is, cutting me half way in mid sentence. I was even starting to think she wasn't even interested in what I was saying.
"Are you sure?" She pressed on. "Give me your phone, let me check!!"
Without waiting for me to hand it to her, she leaned forward over me and grabbed my iPhone on the bed.
"It's dead," I informed her.
It wasn't. I had to lie. I wasn't ready to let out my phone just yet. Not until I was done deleting every trace of anything connected to Prissy in it.
Luckily for me, she just threw my phone back on the bed and went back to her own phone.
Apparently, it was clear she had completely forgotten I was talking to her about something.
I let it be. Whatever she was doing on her phone was probably more important. I just said nothing and looked around her bedroom, observing the excessive posters of celebrities, tagged with inspirational quotes, pasted all around the white coloured walls.
I didn't like coming over to Krisdana's place. I wasn't even used to being over at her place. Infact, she wasn't even used to being in her own house. Most times, we both were in Ivandor's place because that's she was there most of the time.
But what particularly made me not like it here was her older brother. Everytime she stayed in her own home, it meant he was around. Believe me when I say Krisdana's brother hated me to shege.
And as we stayed this way on her bed, with Krisdana wearing nothing but a white thin strap crop top and some really short shorts, my heart wasn't really settled. I was wondering what it would be like if her older brother walked in on us like this.
"Sorry, what were you saying again, baby?" She asked me, looking away from her phone and upwards towards me.
She looked so good as she looked up at me that way, very pretty, yet so natural - no make up and a messy bun, basically.
"You were saying, babe?" Her voice came up again.
"I was saying I was considering telling my parents I'm majoring in music because_,"
"Okay, maybe it's party admins!!!" Krisdana exclaimed into her phone immediately, totally and completely disregarding me once again.
Ouch.
I kept quiet again.
"Maybe Aaron and Casper are organizing a party and they want my help. That's why they created the party admins group, baa?" she said.
Was I supposed to answer that?
"Sorry, sorry, continue what you were saying," she said, but still typed away in her phone.
I didn't say anything. Not a word.
"Baby, talk. I'm listening," she said, eyes still fixed on her phone.
After a few more seconds of silence that she probably didn't even notice, I finally opened my mouth again to speak again.
"I'm thinking of telling my parents I want to major in_,"
"JESUS! WHAT IF IT'S FOR SHADE'S PARTY!!!" Krisdana literally screamed, cutting me shut once again.
Wow.
She legit jumped up from the bed and in seconds, she was on her feet on the ground, pacing about the whole room and talking to herself.
She had to be talking to herself. Because I had no idea what she was saying.
"What if it's Shade's party? Why would they be telling me about it now! Is it not late?" She asked, turning to me.
However, she didn't wait for me to reply, she immediately suggested to herself, "Abi, Nova should know something about it. Let me call him,"
From there, she started dialling numbers.
At that point, I just face palmed and swore to myself; If I ever try to talk about my music with Krisdana again, let me bend.
"Did Nova just hang up on me?" I heard her rant, causing me to take my face away from my hands to look at her fussing around with her phone.
Why did she always have to make it so difficult to talk to her?
I just waited there on the bed and tried to mute her as she ranted on the phone about Aaron, Casper, Nova and Shade's rumoured party.
"Baby, what were you saying about your parents again??" I heard Krisdana's voice after about a good thirty minutes or more.
I looked at her for a while.
Was she being serious right now?
I just shook my head and looked away from her, and to the window.
"Never mind. It's not important." I said, surprised at the harshness of my tone as the words rolled out.
Was I pissed?
My eyes didn't leave the window so I couldn't see Krisdana, but I knew she was looking at me. There was silence for a while.
"Yure, are you angry with me?" She asked me after some time, her voice soft.
Am I?
"How can't I be, Kris? I'm trying to talk to you about something that means a whole lot to me and you don't even care. All that's important to you is that party!"
That's exactly what I heard myself say.
Woah. Where did that come from?
I looked to Krisdana, who looked very sober now. Her eyes were softer and her well curved lips were slightly parted as she looked at me.
"Yure, but I didn't know you..," she started saying but her words trailed off there.
I barely let out a small chuckle and turned back to face the window again.
That's when it got clear to me. I was pissed.
I didn't hear Kris say anything and my eyes remained on the window again. I heard soft footsteps and soon, I felt Krisdana's soft hands on my shoulder.
"Yure, I'm sorry," she said.
"I'm not angry," I said, still looking to the window.
"Yes, you are!" She went onn and I just stayed quiet again.
She softly pushed me by the shoulders to get my attention and eventually, I turned to look at her sober face.
"Talk to me now. I'll listen, I promise." she said. She sounded genuine this time, but knowing Kris, she may just unintentionally cut me short again.
"No, seriously, forget it," I told her.
She was quiet for a while and she just stayed there and looked at me. I could visibly see the hurt in her eyes.
"Do I ever make you feel like you can't talk to me, Yure?" She finally asked me.
"Not really, but_,"
"Not really?" She cut in immediately, shocked by my reply. Her voice went high.
"I didn't mean it like that," I said.
"Then please tell me how you meant it! Because you never open up to me about serious issues in your life and I want to understand why!" She came in immediately, almost sounding defensive.
"I just tried now!" I heard myself snapping back at her.
But I did, didn't I.
She clearly wasn't interested.
"But you never do in the past! How was I supposed to know that today of all days, things suddenly changed and you just somehow suddenly decided to open up to me out of the blues! Tell me how was I supposed to know what you were telling me was so important when all our conversations are never that serious!" She shouted.
Yes, she shouted - right to my face.
And trust me, her voice is LOUD.
I found myself staying quiet again.
If there was anything I hated getting myself into, it was loud arguments.
Besides, I wasn't ready for Krisdana and I to start yelling at each other in her bedroom before her huge older brother walks in and finds a reason to beat me up because I know he's always wanted to.
"Look, Yure..," Krisdana's voice was softer. I felt her hand touching me gently.
My silence probably calmed her down.
"I'll always be there for you no matter what," she started. "I'd support you through anything and everything you ever have to go through. I'm never too occupied to not do that, because I love and I care about you. I don't want you thinking you can't open up to me for any reason." She said to me. Her eyes were pure, so filled with genuineness.
I nodded, and she smiled.
"And I'm so sorry once again for not listening to you. I had NO idea you needed someone to really talk to. If I did, I would have even switched off my phone. And yes, I know that's not an excuse, but still, I apologise. I'll try and be a better listener and a good companion to you, I promise," Krisdana said.
I instantly felt so much guilt washing over me.
Krisdana had never failed in making me happy - in being 'a good companion', in her words.
All these while, I was the one messing everything up, and here she was, thinking she was the reason for the flaws in our relationship.
Krisdana's was right. I never opened up to her on anything particularly serious. And I know I should, not just because she was my girlfriend, but because I know she would put her all into anything concerning me.
Why I didn't find it so easy pouring out my heart to her in the past was what I can't comprehend.
Okay, so Kris could be super annoying if she wanted to. She could be loud, overly hyperactive, non-challant sometimes concerning serious issues.
But when she cared about a person, she really CARED - cared with her whole entire being, and could put her all into whatever it was if she really understood how much it meant to you.
Maybe I could also try my my best to put my all into our relationship as well. No more playing around.
~GIWA~
Vibration by Fireboy blasted through my ear pods as I sat on the passengers seat of Ivandor's car and glossed over all the whatssap status in my WhatsApp app.
I felt Ivandor tap me softly to get my attention, and I took out one of the ears of the ear pods and looked at him on the driver's seat where he sat. Apparently, he had just turned off the ignition and I didn't even notice.
I noticed that we were parked in a strange compound - an overly spacious compound, with multitudes of cars around us. Infront of us was a big yellow-coloured building, and behind was a jet-black gate, with a smallish man in uniform trying to close the gate.
Ah ah, when did we enter somebody's house, abeg!?
Could it be Krisdana's house? I recalled hearing him talking to her over the phone and she asked him to come over briefly. He asked me if I could come - that, I found a not very intelligent question, considering he was well aware his cousin and I don't really mix too well.
But what was I supposed to say?
"No, I won't come cause I totally hate your cousin?
Anyway, we weren't staying for long so from there, Ivandor would just take me back home.
"I want to see my little sister," Ivandor told me.
"In Krisdana's house?" I ask.
"What?" He asked me, obviously confused.
"Where are we?" I asked.
He paused for half a second kuke he was looking for a way to put his answer,"My father's house."
There was something with the way he said it.
"My sister has been asking about me all day. I just want to stop by and see her before we go to Krisdanas' cause by the time we're back and I drop you off at home, it'll be really late. I'll just tell her I'll waste a little more time so she doesn't feel bad," Ivandor told me.
Awwwwwww. That's so sweet of him.
"I'll come with you," I told him.
He smiled.
"Okay then, let's go," he said, and soon we were out of the car and heading into his house.
On side note; Why was the house compound so large?
And the hell? So many cars - literally, every corner of the compound, huge expensive looking cars were lined. What does his dad need all those cars for?
The first place we got to as soon as we entered the house was the living room - a large, accent decor living room, with cream colored walls, white italian couches around in a semi-circle pattern and a big plasma screen TV that hung on the wall opposite the largest sofa.
I noticed how quiet the house was though. When I say quiet - you could hear a pin drop. It was like a graveyard.
With the look on Ivandor's face, I could tell he didn't like it here.
But why? His own father's house?
Anyway, he took me upstairs through the L-shaped staircase and as we walked down a corridor, passing some rooms by our sides, I could hear our footsteps clear and loud - even if neither, Ivandor or I, was a loud walker. That's just how quiet this house was. I was even tempted to ask if anyone was around.
Finally, we made our stop at one of the rooms and Ivandor softly knocked on the door.
Soon, a really cute small girl opened the door. I recognised her to be Ivandor's little sister. I had seen her a few times in school and I knew she was in Nini's class.
She didn't notice me initially because she paid attention to her big brother. Squealing a screachy excited sound, she wrapped her tiny hands all over him in a tight hug.
"Finally, you're home!" She exclaimed. She pulled Ivandor into her room afterward, without even stopping to look back at me.
I put my hand at half shut door and opened it slowly to walk into the room where Ivandor was still trying to explain something to his little sister.
And Jesus Christ - her room was so pink! I think I may go blind!
The little girl noticed me that moment.
Her jumpy, overly excited demeanor changed immediately. Her eyes widened a little in shock and her lips parted slightly as she looked at me.
I immediately understood that she was confused and slightly scared as to why Giwa Falade, the School's most ruthless prefect, was in her bedroom.
"Hi," I said audibly to her. A smile was on my face. I smiled to ease her tension.
"H-hey," she replied, waving at me shyly and glancing at Ivandor.
Her confusion amused me. I had to laugh.
Ivandor's sister was overly cute. She had an exotic kind of beauty - just like Ivandor, himself. Maybe it ran in the family.
Ivandor's little sister, guys!!!!!!
"Sharon," Ivandor called out to his little sister. When she turned to him, he gestured towards me and said, "Meet Giwa."
She turned back to look at me with a small smile.
"I know her," she said, giggling softly.
Of course she knew me. I was her Head girl.
"Will Ivan let me come to Krisdana's place if you tell him to?" Sharon said to me.
"I can't be driving around with you by this time, Sharon. It's getting late." Ivandor said to his sister.
"It's just 5!" Sharon insisted, sounding rather whiney, before turning back to me.
"Will you tell him to let me come with you guys?" She asked me, with doll eyes.
I was surprised at how quickly she adjusted from shock and fear to suddenly being free with me. I liked her already.
"Come on, let her come with us. It won't take time," I ended up telling Ivandor.
He sighed, and after persisting for a while. He just said, "okay fine. Let's be on our way then,"
I smiled happily. Sharon seemed happy also. She ran up to me and squeezed me in a hug.
Wow, she was a hugger.
We made our way out of her bedroom thereon and just as we stepped outside the room, I heard the sound of creaking doors.
Three of us turned our heads back simultaneously, to see one of the doors of the rooms behind us creaking open.
I peered in, and after a few seconds, a woman peering half her body out of one of the rooms. She seemed confused as she looked at us. She was quite slim. Light skinned black also, not too light like Hassana, but lighter than actual dark skin. She was pretty. Her hair was a bit wet and messy and she had a green towel on.
"Where are you guys going?" She asked us. Her eyes moved to me and squinted a bit, like she was trying to recognise who I was.
"We're going to Krisdana's house, mum." Ivandor answered the woman.
She was his mum?
Wait, rephrase..
She was the famous ex-model Barni Zenzei? Or should I say, Barni Fejaun, now?
She had aged a bit though - from the Barni I used to see in the old editions of Style Magazine.
Although, she was still gorgeous - but I could spot a few wrinkles on her face.
I couldn't also help but notice she also looked stressed - very stressed. I hoped she was okay.
"Who's your friend?" She asked Ivandor.
"Her name is Giwa," Ivandor replied.
"Come closer. I can't hear you," she said.
We started walking closer to his mum and when we were close enough, Ivandor repeated,"Her name is Giwa."
His mum's eyes moved to me, and I suddenly felt a bit insecure - like she knew I was having a thing with her son.
Does she think I'm not good enough?
Surprisingly, she just smiled at me.
"You're really pretty," she said to me.
I smiled at the compliment.
"So are you, ma," I replied.
Just then, we all heard another creaking sound. We turned to the room door opposite the one we stood by, to see a man this time, stepping out.
And Jesus Christ! I was staring at an older version of Ivandor Fejaun.
The man looked EXACTLY like Ivandor. Although, a bit chunkier and with a lot of facial hair. Asides all that, he was a replica of Ivandor - same hair, same hazel eyes, same shape of lips_
"Daddy, we're going to Krisdana's house!" Sharon announced to the man, and his face just broke into a small smile as he laughed a little.
Wow, so he also smiled and laughed like Ivandor too?
Although, a part of me still wondered why he came out of a different room from his wife.
Did his parents sleep in different rooms? There were so many questioning things about this house.
"You're back already," Ivandor's dad said to him, before his hazel eyes darted to me.
"Good evening, sir." I greeted promptly, hoping to get on his good side, like I already did with his wife.
"Good evening," he retorted, with a very warming smile.
Okay, his family was nice. That was comforting.
"Ivan, your father wanted to speak with you," Ivandor's mum came in.
"I'm on my way to Krisdana's house. I can't talk now." Ivandor answered, almost immediately.
I noticed he wasn't even making eye contact with his dad at all throughout the entire time he came out of the room. It made me silently wonder what was going on between them.
What was going on in Ivandor's home infact? Things didn't seem right.
I honestly thought about asking him what it was the entire drive to Krisdana's house.
No matter how much Ivandor tried to hide it, I could sense the tension in his home, amidst all the smiles on their faces.
What was really going on?
I honestly wanted to ask, but had I really gotten to that point in Ivandor's life where I could ask about personal issues like that?
Guys!!! Who noticed how long this chapter was???😩I tried cutting it down but it wasn't co-operation😩
Anyways, what are you guys thoughts?? On Yure and Krisdana?? On Ivandor's home??? Let me in!!❤️❤️❤️
