Hey everyone, I'm back!!😊❤️❤️❤️❤️
~Ivandor~
"No way! You mean, she actually did all that?" I exclaimed after Giwa had just finished giving me a run down of everything that happened yesterday in Class F.
"You should have seen the look on Ajiro's face," Giwa went on, "The last thing that will ever be on her mind is messing with anything connected to me again."
"Yeah, no kidding," I laughed.
Giwa and I were in the outside seating of S. U. Cafe after school that Friday afternoon having lunch together. Just a few people say out here as well. They were about six tables all lined in two rows and a protector demarcating the S.U. property from the road. Although, an opening was at the end of the protector for anyone who wanted to leave.
We had already ordered our food inside, but Giwa preferred we sat in their outside roadside cafe to eat instead. She kept insisting that she liked to watch everything going on outside. I didn't understand why, because basically, it was only cars passing back and forth by the road side, but I respected her choice anyway.
"Maybe you should just let Ajiro off the hook though," I suggested to Giwa, who still had a mouth full of spaghetti.
She looked up at me sharply with her cheeks puffed out and filled with spaghetti and that made me laugh so hard at how she looked.
As soon as she swallowed her food, she faked a frown at me.
"You're now laughing at me, abi?" She said, feigning fake anger.
"Well, It's not my fault you're just so damn cute," I replied squeezing her cheek a little as a small chuckle left with my words.
She blushed with my compliment. She looked so good when she blushed that way.
"But seriously though..are you really letting Ajiro stay in prison the entire weekend?" I asked her afterward.
She sighed and her lips went into a thin line and then fixed at the corner of her mouth for a short while. It looked to me like she was thinking.
"I don't know," she replied. "Maybe, maybe not."
I had a feeling she wouldn't. I mean, no matter how Giwa tried to come across as cold, she actually did have a soft spot deep down in her heart.
"MUMMY, NO, I DON'T WANT FISH PIE!!"
Immediately, Giwa and I turned to face the direction that the loud, high pitched scream just came from, only to see a little girl about two tables close.
She looked quite angry and she folded her hands and stood by a mature- looking lady, who sat down on one of the tables and seemed to be eagerly trying to find something in her handbag.
We weren't the only ones eager to see the child screaming like that. Apparently, the other people sitting and eating out here with us were also turning to face the angry little girl that just screamed at her mother.
"Will you keep your mouth shut there, you child!!" A grown up woman from another table shouted back to the little girl.
"Just see how she's shouting at her mother in public and the woman is just quiet!!" Another woman from another table shouted right after.
"Tell her to buy what I want!" The little girl shouted back to the well grown adults immediately.
"Jesus Christ!" I heard another grown up's voice come immediately, in shock at the girl's boldness.
"Woah," I heard Giwa comment, dragging my attention from the scene back to her.
"Woah, is right," I agreed. "Children these days are just spoilt rotten and rude."
"I can bet you on my life that her mother isn't a Nigerian woman," Giwa said. "If not that girl would have eaten sand for that nonsense she's doing."
Just then, we got distracted by the little girl screaming at her mum again.
"INFACT, I'M GOING HOME BY MYSELF! EAT THE FISH PIE ALONE!!"
We turned back to see her mum, frustrated and putting her hands on her palm as the little girl started walking out on her.
"Nadia!" I heard her mother's weak voice attempting to call the angry little girl.
We all watched as this girl ignored her mother and walked with so much fury in an attempt to leave.
"Where is she now going?" I heard one of the adults angrily remark.
Actually, where did she think she was going to?
As soon as she got to the main road, I heard one of the adults scream;
"Enikan yoo mu omode yen kuro ni ibe!!!"
I wasn't fluent with Yoruba to understand what they said, but when I squinted at the road the little girl was furiously walking across, I saw a huge truck heading towards her at full speed.
Believe me when I tell you; there was no hope for that little girl. With the speed of that truck and the close range she was to it, she most definitely was getting crushed. The worst thing about it is that we were all about to witness it.
"NADIA!" I heard her mum scream at the top of her lungs.
Nadia didn't even seem to care.
Was she so angry that she didn't realise she was about to get crushed by a massive truck?
I don't know what came over me at that point, but I saw myself jumping up from my seat and running towards the little girl as fast as I could.
"IVANDOR!" I heard Giwa's voice screaming behind me but my legs were already on the move.
All I know is at that point, I not only heard Giwa's voice screaming at me to come back, but everyone there was to.
Why I ignored them all, I don't know. I honestly felt like something took over me.
As soon as I got close to the little girl on the road, I hooked her in one arm, and as I jumped with her to escape the incoming truck, I felt a massive rush of wind as the truck passed behind me with a massive speed. Right after, I saw myself landing painfully with the little girl on the pedestrian walk, grazing my elbow against the ground in the process.
"Ahhhh.." I groaned in pain, and the little girl wriggled out of my hold looking very scared.
That's when I saw her crying mother coming to meet us from the other side of the road. As I tried sitting up and holding my wounded elbow, the little girl looked rather unhurt, but scared stiff, as her mother hugged her very tightly, sobbing uncontrollably.
"Thankyou, Thankyou so much," The woman said to me and I just nodded and sort of groaned a little from the pain in my elbow.
"Are you okay? Did you hurt yourself??" The woman kept asking me as she held on to her daughter. I just shook my head and waved my hands to her like I was saying, "no, don't worry."
"For Christ sake, Ivandor. What was that!?" I heard a farmilar voice shouting close by.
I turned to my side to see Giwa walking towards me with a group of people behind her. She looked so shocked.
While half of the people with her focused on finishing the girl I just saved and her mother, the other half assisted Giwa in helping me up the ground.
"Are you okay?" Giwa asked me as soon as I was on my feet. Looking into her eyes, I could tell she was bat out of hell scared and worried about me. I just smiled weakly.
"I'm fine, I promise" I assured her. "My elbow just hurts a little. That's all."
She grabbed my arm immediately and took a look at my elbow. I did too, and wow, the injury looked was worse than it felt.
"Jesus Christ! You're bleeding badly!" She exclaimed.
"Somebody should rush him to a nearby clinic before that wound gets infected," one of the women that came with Giwa alarmed.
"I'll drive him to Dominus clinic. It's just across the road," another unknown man amongst us said.
Am I really going to enter a stranger's car now?
"Let's go," the man said, grabbing my other hand and moving, without even giving me a chance to make a decision.
"I'll go with you!" Giwa immediately spoke up.
"Are you his friend?" The man asked, turning back to look at Giwa.
"I..er..yes. yes, I am," Giwa replied.
"Oya, come naw. Be sharp!" He said to Giwa, who rushed right behind both of us.
~Giwa~
The whole drive to the clinic, I kept watching Ivandor.
He was holding his wounded arm and looking out the window most of the time. Occasionally, he would flash smiles at me, but we never really did talk through out the ride. It felt odd since there was a cranky looking man on the wheel.
I honestly couldn't get over the stunt he pulled back there. That was so risky. Running right into a moving truck? Like Hell, he could have gotten killed. It wasn't even as if he knew the girl or anything. A total stranger. But he just ran across the road to save her from getting crushed by a truck, forgetting the fact that he would have gotten crushed too.
That was just a clear way to know a person who is always going to go out of their way look out for you, even if it's too their own disadvantage.
I turned my face and I watched him stare out into the window. His tan skin looked so good as the sun rays from outside hit it. His eyebrows, perfectly carved and his facial features moulded to god-like perfection.
I smiled to myself, satisfied with what I was seeing.
There's still a lot I'm yet to find out about this boy called Ivandor.
~Yure~
I sat down on the bench by the school basket ball court at the back of the junior block that afternoon right after Sports was over.
People were already going home by now and I had texted Prissy to meet up briefly.
I knew she'd be thinking it's for one of our usual video shoots and all, but I had something else in mind.
I had gotten her a "Thankyou bracelet" for everything she had done for me the entire week - the videos and the support. She deserved it.
There was absolutely no way I could give this to her during school hours, and with a bunch load of tests and mid-term exams coming up from next week, we wouldn't even be together for my videos for me to even think about giving her the bracelet.
I pushed my backpack closer to me as I waited for Prissy. After but a few more minutes..
"Yure," I heard a warming call.
I looked up to see Prissy, a few feet away from me and hanging her backpack in one arm.
I motioned her to come closer. She sighed, before making her way towards me.
"Yure, I thought we agreed on meeting in your house for the videos," Prissy said, as soon as she got to me.
I stood up at that point, and she looked up at me. Yes, up. I was a way taller with a good gap.
"Yeah, I know I know, but..that's not exactly why I called you here," I told her and her eyebrows furrowed in a small frown.
"Let's sit. You look so short as I'm looking at you this way," I said and she punched my arm. And ouch that actually hurt.
When we sat on the bench I was on, I opened my backpack and brought out the case that the bracelet was packaged in for her.
"I wanted to give you this,"I said giving her the case. She looked confused, but she still took it from my hand.
"W-what's in it?" She stammered, and I giggled.
"Well, why don't you open it and see," I told her and she half smiled, before proceeding to open the case.
When she opened it and saw the bracelet inside, she gasped softly.
"Y-yure..," she stuttered. "This is so beautiful."
"I knew you'd like it," I said. "You've done so much for me these past few weeks. I mean, because of you, I'm putting myself out there. Engagement on Social media is mind blowing. Its basically everything I've ever wanted - for people to hear me sing. You made that possible," I smiled at her and added, "Thankyou for that,"
She smiled and closed the case back, holding it tightly.
"Honestly, you didn't have to," she said to me.
"I know, but I did," I replied.
"I will keep this," she said.
"And I'd love that," I replied.
That was all the reason I wanted her here. I knew at that point, she would want to start taking her leave.
"I'll be leaving now," she said akwardly.
Like I knew.
"Yeah, it's cool," I replied.
She opened her backpack and put the case in it, before hanging it back on her shoulder.
"Umm..bye?" She said one last time.
"Yeah..b-bye," I stuttered and Prissy stood up from the bench.
As she walked away, I watched behind her. Then suddenly, she just stopped and I wondered why.
She then put her backpack on the ground and started making her way towards the basketball that was on the court. As she got a hold of it, she surprised me by bouncing the ball from the point she was to nearly half of the court where she finally stood and set her stance, like she was about to shoot into the basket.
My eyes widened.
Is Prissy about to shoot a three pointer!?
No way! She won't be able to do it.
She threw the ball effortlessly, and I watched in awe as it flew in the air and landed perfectly into the hoop.
"What the hell!" I exclaimed out loud.
Prissy went to the hoop stand and took the ball up, before turning to me and striking a proud pose with the ball.
"How many short girls do you know can do that?" She asked me.
I broke down laughing. So that was why she did that? Because I called her short??
"You're so petty," I called out to her, laughing still.
She scowled at me and before I knew it, she threw the basket ball at me. Again, Ouch!
"I'm actually going to get you back for that one," I shouted to her.
"Yeah, that's if you can catch me!" She went.
That's how Prissy and I spent minutes from there, running around the court, laughing and playing with each other like children.
Needless to say, it was too much fun.
"Leave me alone, Yure!" Prissy squealed, laughing and trying to free herself from my grip as I had held her tight from behind.
"I swear, I'm going to bite you oo," she threghtened me and that made me release my hold on her immediately. Both of us were laughing nonstop.
Strangely, I didn't want this fun to end. Maybe she didn't too.
Soon, we realised what we were doing and Prissy immediately moved away from me.
"Sorry, I.." she stammered on.
I looked at her as she searched for words. There was only one thing on my mind.
I wanted to kiss her.
But would she let me?
There was only one way to find out.
So, I leaned in for her lips and kissed her.
And she didn't stop me.
Immediately, our kiss was broken up untimely as we felt another presence watching us.
We turned sharply to the end of the court to see one of the girls in my class, watching us with wide eyes. Beside her was a boy that I didn't know, maybe a junior. But the girl - I am certain we know her. I've seen that face one too many times. She's definitely a classmate..
..and she just saw me and Prissy kiss.
Her mouth that was opened in shock closed and she gave one last, longing look on me and Prissy before leaving without saying a single word to any of us.
I turned to Prissy who looked like she had her heart in her hands. Her face was full of so much fear and anxiety and she screamed;
"That's Abba Praise!!"
Who?
She started tugging unto my jersey, all tensed up now.
"She's one of those talkative girls in my class and she just saw us kiss, Yure! She's going to tell everybody!!" Prissy ratted out to me.
I couldn't move.
I stayed, transfixed on my feet as Prissy freaked the hell out.
I was too shocked to say anything. The reality of everything was still settling in.
We are so dead.
Yure and Prissy got caught by a classmate😩💔
Should we say their last prayers for them???
And what do you guys think about Ivandor's stunt???? Have you ever saved someone from a bear death experience before??
Hope you guys liked this chapter😊❤️
