- Have you and my brother found an apartment yet? - Izzy asked her sister-in-law as the two girls entered the operations center.

- Yes, but it wasn't that easy - Lizzie confessed. - We looked at 4 apartments before we found one with a living room, kitchen, study, and three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom - Lizzie answered her.

- Prepare yourself for me to be there more often when my niece is born - Izzy said.

- You'll always be welcome - Lizzie stated before Alec approached them.

- Hey honey - Alec said to his wife and kissed her on the lips, and with his free hand he touched her pregnant belly, in which Alexis was kicking.

- Hey - Lizzie greeted her husband.

- I just came here to see my children - The three of them heard Maryse's voice at the entrance to the Institute. Alec, Izzy and Lizzie turned to the voice and looked at her as the guard prevented her from entering the Institute.

- Is that mom? - Alec asked her and he, Izzy and Lizzie started walking towards the exit of the Institute.

- Show some respect - Underhill scolded him, who was standing next to Maryse and arguing with the guard.

- That woman has been excommunicated by the Clave - The guard informed him. - She's not allowed to enter.

- That woman is Alec Lightwood's mother. Allowances can be made - Underhill stated.

- Everything is fine - Maryse said to her son.

- Hey! As long as I'm in charge, Maryse Lightwood is allowed in the New York Institute. Understood? - Alec asked the guard, who nodded and let Maryse enter the Institute.

The woman entered the Institute without a word and immediately hugged her daughter.

- Sorry. I should have called earlier - Maryse stated as she and her children and daughter-in-law walked into the courtyard. The woman took a few steps in front of them and turned her back to them.

- No, it's not a problem - Izzy told her.

- Mom, did it hurt when they removed the runes? - Alec asked, and Lizzie and Izzy glared at him.

- Not at all - Maryse replied and turned to look at them. - Adjusting was actually easier than I expected

- Have you found a place to live yet? - She asked Lizzie's mother-in-law.

- You can stay here if you want - Alec suggested. - We can do that, I meant it, you're always welcome - The man added after a moment

- Thank you, but I found a place. All I want now is to spend some time with my wonderful children - Maryse said and smiled when she walked closer to them. - And my daughter-in-law - The woman said after a moment and placed her hand on Lizzie's visible stomach. - Speaking of which, where is Jace?

- Hey little brother - Lizzie said with a smile as Alec and Jace approached her and Izzy. The blonde girl hugged her brother, and he hugged his older sister back.

- Hey little sister - Jace said with a smile and pulled away from her to look at her. Maybe Lizzie was being paranoid, but she could have sworn there was something unsettling about her brother, but she ignored the feeling.

- You look better - Izzy commented, then hugged her adopted brother.

- I'm finally back to myself - Jace told her as Izzy pulled away from him. - Whatever the Silent Brothers did, it was a success.

- So you're finally ready to serve? - Izzy asked.

- Yes, I am - Jace answered her.

Clary then entered the operations center and smiled as she saw Jace and walked over to him.

- Jace - The redheaded girl called out and the four of them turned to her. - It's so good to have you back - Clary stated and hugged him and he hugged her back.

- It's good to be back - Jace stated with a smile and took Clary's hand.

A moment later he walked away with her.

The Lightwood family and Jace were at Hunters moon for a family dinner.

- I'm so proud you had the courage to seek help - Maryse said to Jace as everyone sat at the table.

- I'm glad i back to normal - Jace said with a smile.

- Yeah. How about we order something to eat? - Lizzie suggested when she sat next to her husband. - My daughter is demanding food

- As you wish - Alec told his wife.

- I hope I'm not embarrassing you - Maryse suddenly told them as several shadowhunters were still looking at her.

- What are you talking about? - Alec asked her surprised. - You're our mother, we stand behind you

- Always - Izzy added and looked at her mother.

- Thank you. If there's a silver lining in all of this, it's getting to be with the four of you again - Maryse said, smiling at them all. - Five soon

- So what are you going to do now? - Alec asked.

- I need to find a job. I'm looking forward to it, actually - Maryse replied. - Isabelle, where's your friend? - Maryse asked her daughter and she looked at her.

- What friend? - Jace asked, surprised.

- Friend? Wait, you have a new boyfriend? - Alec asked her sister. - Why am I the last one to hear about this?

- Alec, I haven't heard about it either - Jace said to Alec.

Jace and Alec looked at Izzy with surprise on their faces, and Lizzie could barely contain her laughter at her husband's and brother's overprotectiveness towards the younger Lightwood.

- You knew that, didn't you? - Alec asked his wife.

- Of course we are, we are friends after all - Lizzie replied to her husband and smiled at him and her brother.

- Okay, he is not my boyfriend. We were only on one date - Izzy stated and looked at her older brother.

- He is a doctor - Maryse informed them.

- So who is he? A werewolf? A warlock? - Alec asked.

- He is a mundane - Izzy replied.

- Really? - Alec asked her. The man knew that his sister dated downworlders, but he did not expect her to start dating mundanes.

- Well, that is something new - Jace commented.

- I am practically a mundane at this point - Maryse noticed.

- You all have to promise to behave yourself - Izzy said to her two brothers.

- Us? - Jace asked in shock.

- What? - Alec asked and exchanged a look with his Parabatai.

- Oh, Isabelle, he's handsome - Maryse told her daughter as they all saw the tall and muscular man who walking towards them.

- Mom - Izzy sighed.

- Handsome - Lizzie stated and Alec looked at her with envious eyes.. - Although I like my handsome, jealous husband better - The blonde girl said after a moment and kissed her husband on the lips.

- I'm not jealous - Alec told her.

- Let's say - Lizzie said.

- I can't wait to meet him - Jace said and he looked at the man who approached their table.

- My darlings, this is Charlie - Izzy introduced Charlie to her family.

Alec and Jace were asking questions of Izzy's boyfriend.

- So what kind of doctor are you? - Alec asked.

- Pediatric surgeon - Charlie answered.

- You work with children - Jace noticed.

- Yeah, well, children love breaking their arms, running into coffee tables. And not everyone heals as quickly as Isabelle - Charlie stated and looked at Izzy.

- The magic of make-up - Izzy lied and touched her forehead.

- Anyway, Isabelle told me about the family business - Charlie said.

- What exactly did she tell you? - Alec asked him and tensed.

- Is the jewelry thing a secret? - Charlie asked him.

- Oh. Jewelry. She told you we're jewelers - Lizzie said with a smile.

- We prefer to think of ourselves as artists - Maryse told him.

- Who's up for dessert? - Maryse asked when she looked at her children and pregnant daughter-in-law.

- Sure - Jace told her.

- Me - Lizzie stated before Luke walked over to them.

- Maryse Lightwood? At Hunter's Moon? - Luke asked her.

- Lucian - Maryse said surprised and looked at him.

- We should get another round - Izzy said as she, Jace, Charlie left the table so Maryse and Luke could talk in private.

- I have to go to the toilet, the little princess hasn't even been born yet and she's already bossing me around - Lizzie sighed and went to the bathroom.

- Did I tell you that you are very beautiful? - Alec asked in a drunken tone to his wife as Jace helped her to lead husband out the back so that the family would not see the man in such a state.

- Yes - Lizzie said with a smile and was amused that her husband was drunk for the first time in his life. The blonde girl raised her hand to hail a taxi but luckily the taxi stopped next to them.

- Are you going to be okay? - Jace asked her.

- Yes, just put him in the taxi because I can't do it - Lizzie stated and thanked her brother as the man put her husband in the seat of the taxi.

After her husband was in the taxi Lizzie got in the taxi and after a moment they drove off. It didn't take long before they got out a street away from the Institute after paying the taxi driver.

- I love.. you so much - Alec her whispered.

- Me too - Lizzie stated, and she walked with him toward the Institute.
