Lizzie was sleeping peacefully, which was strange, because Alexis rarely let her sleep. However, this time it wasn't Alexis who woke her up, but Izzy.

- Lizzie, wake up - Izzy said.

After Izzy left, Lizzie got out of bed, quickly changed, and then did her makeup and hair. Then she went into the armory, where Magnus, Alec, Izzy, Clary, and Simon were gathered around the table.

Shortly after Clary revealed the truth about Jace, Luke showed up at the Institute with new information about the Owl.

- Last night, Ollie's mother was found in her apartment. Stabbed to death - Luke informed them as they stood in the courtyard.

- Luke, you couldn't have done anything - Clary tried to comfort him.

- Wait. Jace was able to reverse Morgan's possession, remember? If we find Jace, maybe he can save Ollie - Izzy pointed out.

- We tried. He must be using his anti-tracking rune - Clary told her.

- The Owl wasn't very shy before. If we can somehow stop him the next time he shows up, maybe I can free him from Lilith's influence - Magnus spoke up.

- How the hell are we supposed to stop him? - Luke asked.

- When I took over as weapons master, I read about a piece of Clave technology that never made it into the field. It was called the Malachi Configuration. - Izzy replied them.

- Malachi a traitor? - Alec asked.

- He invented a type of cage for Greater Demons. Now it's just sitting in the Alicante armory - Izzy explained.

- So we go there and get it - Clary said.

- You expect the Clave to just give it to you? - Luke asked Clary.

- No. But we can trust my grandmother, he'll help us - Lizzie said, who still reeling from the new information about her brother.

- Izzy and I will go with you - Alec said.

Alec, Lizzie, Clary, and Izzy transported to Alicante before heading to Lizzie and Jace's grandmother's office.

- If you can give us the Malachi Configuration, we can contain Jace. We can cure him - Izzy informed Imogen.

- And what do I tell Consul Penhallow? - Imogen asked.

- What brings the crown jewels of the New York Institute to Alicante? - Consul Penhallow asked them when watched them.

While Clary and Izzy were in the armory, Lizzie was talking to her grandmother and making sure no one would catch them at the armory.

- Do you think your brother can be saved? - Imogen whispered to her granddaughter when she looked at her granddaughter.

- We have to hope, because that's all we have - Lizzie replied and rubbed her stomach as Alexis began to kick her hard.

- After your parents died, I was fortunate enough to raise you, and I'm grateful for that. I watched you grow into a beautiful, strong, talented, and respected Shadowhunter - Her grandmother told her, taking her granddaughter by the hand.

Jace was digging up the dirt from the grave. Alec, Izzy, Lizzie, Clary hid so Jace wouldn't notice. A moment earlier, Alec had received a fiery message from Imogen that Jace was in the cemetery.

- Jace! - Alec shouted, and Jace stepped out of the grave and started walking towards Alec. - Now! - The man shouted after a moment, as Lizzie, Clary, and Izzy emerged from their hiding places, then plunged their swords into the ground. A square cage of light locked Jace inside.

- What did you do? - Jace asked angrily.

- It worked - Izzy said, before everyone heard dogs barking in the distance and guards shining their flashlights. - What do we do now?

- I can buy you some time - Clary told them, and Lizzie had a bad feeling.

- How? - Alec asked her, and Clary turned away from him and began to draw a rune in the air before creating a portal.

- I'll cover for yous. Now go fix him - Clary said.

- Clary, please don't do anything stupid - Lizzie begged her.

- No! - Jace shouted before the portal sucked him, Izzy, Lizzie, and Alec into it and transported them to Magnus's apartment.

- Well, this is certainly a surprise - Magnus said and he poured himself a drink, then looked at them.

- Do you really think this thing can stop me? - Jace asked with an evil smile. - You're even dumber than I thought.

- We'll save you, Jace - Alec said to him.

- Good luck. It's only a matter of time before Lilith finds me, finds you. You'll all be dead by sunrise - Jace said haughtily and looked at each of them individually.

- I don't think so - Izzy stated.

- We will fight her with all our might. We will not let her take you again - Lizzie told him.

- When your false self-confidence kills you, your daughter will grow up without a mother - Jace threatened her. Lizzie tried to stay calm, but it was difficult when your own brother threatened you with death.
