After Lizzie's water broke, Magnus created a portal to the Institute. Lizzie was examined by the medics and allowed to leave the infirmary, but in case of strong contractions she was to return there and give birth.

- You should rest in bed, not walk - Alec said and he looked at his wife who didn't want to listen to him.

- Alec, I am only 2 cm dilated and I am under the supervision of doctors, so if our daughter is as stubborn as we are, it will be a long time before she is born - Lizzie said calmly and despite the slight contractions she did not panic, she just remained calm.

- I tried. The council excludes us - Alec replied and looked at his sister before another person (Magnus) knocked on the door and then entered the office.

- Sorry to interrupt - Magnus told them as he looked at them.

- Magnus - Lizzie said to Magnus. The warlock looked tired, like he hadn't slept in days.

- Looks like someone needs coffee - Izzy stated.

- Oh, no thank you, I already had six - Magnus told her and stepped closer to them. - So I've been up all night, researching the dark magic Lilith was using on Jace. I may have found a way to free him - Magnus informed them.

- What? How? - Alec asked in surprise, hoping that his Parabatai would be healed and saved from Lilith's hands.

- Based on yous descriptions, it seems that Lilith has Jace locked in some kind of mental cage, and the only solution is to break that cage by casting enough magic on Jace to destroy her presence - Magnus answered him

- Do you have the power to do that? - Alec asked Magnus.

- No, but I will - Said Magnus. - I found a synthesis spell in the Book of White that will allow me to temporarily channel - the magic of other warlocks - Magnus explained to him.

- How many warlocks? - Izzy asked him.

- I'll need at least a dozen or so to match Lilith's power. I'll have to call in favors, but this should work. There's just one small catch. We'll need permission from the High Warlock to organize something of this scale - Magnus sighed.

Alec and Lizzie invited Lorenzo Rey to their office. The warlock quickly arrived to meet them and talk with them.

- Lilith, the Queen of Edom, here in New York? That's a terrifying prospect - Lorenzo stated when he sat on the couch in front of a table with tea and a teapot.

- Yes, she is. My Institute is hunting for her as we speak. But she has proven quite elusive - Alec replied who he stood next to Lizzie who was sitting in a chair and looking at him. - More tea? - He asked and he picked up the glass teapot

- Yes, please. Té rojo is my favorite - The warlock replied as Alec poured tea into Lorenzo's cup.

Alec smiled at him and sat down in the chair across from him.

Two minutes later, the couple heard their daughter's loud cry. Lizzie lay down on the bed with relief and breathed heavily.

- Congratulations, yous have a beautiful daughter - The midwife said and looked at the young parents. - Do you want to cut the umbilical cord? - The woman asked with Alec's smile.

- Yes - Alec replied and went to the midwife and then cut the umbilical cord of the crying daughter.

The woman took her daughter to wash her from the blood and examine her. When she did, she wrapped the baby in a pink blanket with the name "Alexis" embroidered on it (which was a gift from Maryse).

- This is your daughter - The woman said as she approached Alec and Lizzie with their baby.

- Our little princess - Lizzie said with a smile. The blonde girl took her daughter from the midwife's arms and sat on the bedwith help husband.

- By the Angel she looks like you - Alec said when he looked at his daughter. Little Alexis had beautiful blonde curls on her head, beautiful green eyes, pale skin and a small nose.

- Herondale genes prevailed - Lizzie stated proudly. - Welcome to the world Alexis. I am your mother - The girl said with a smile and focused all her attention on her daughter. Alexis looked at her with curiosity and started moving her little hands.

- And I am your father and I will always protect you and love you just like your mother - Alec said and took his daughter from his wife's arms.

Later Alec then helped Lizzie wash up, changed, and got her into bed before the midwife checked her over. The midwife told her she was fine and left the infirmary.

Lizzie quickly fell asleep from exhaustion. Alec know that the labor required a lot of effort from his wife, so he decided to take care of their daughter. Even though Alexis was not even a day old, he loved his daughter and could not imagine life without her.

- Show me my niece - Izzy said as she and her mother entered the infirmary.

- Don't talk so loudly, you'll wake Lizzie - Alec silenced her and looked at him wife, who was sleeping on the bed. The man stood up from the chair with his daughter in his arms and walked over to his sister and mother.

- Meet Alexis Céline Lightwood - Alec whispered to them and showed them his daughter.

- Can I hold her? - Izzy asked him, and Alec nodded and placed his daughter in his sister's arms.

- Just hold her head so... - Alec started to panic.

- Son, calm down - His mother told him.

- Hello Alexis, I'm your aunt - Izzy said when she looked at her niece with love and tears in her eyes. - Maybe you'll meet your uncle if we can save him

Then it was his mother's turn to hold Alexis.

- She's beautiful, just like her mother - Maryse said with a laugh on her face.

- What's all the fuss? - Lizzie asked sleepily, who woke up and looked at the people gathered in the infirmary.

- How are you feeling? - Her mother-in-law asked with concern.

- Fairly well, but I'll feel better when we save my brother - Lizzie replied and sat up on the bed with a groan. - He should be here now to and meet Alexis - The girl said sadly.

- Lizzie we'll do everything so he can meet her - Izzy promised her and walked over to the bed where Lizzie was sitting. The girl took her sister-in-law's hand and hugged it gently.

- Hey, how are Lizzie and little Alexis doing? - Magnus asked Alec as he and Alec stood on the balcony.

- They're both fine. Lizzie's tired and a little sore from the birth, so she's sleeping and my mom is taking care of the little one - Alec replied and looked at Magnus. - We don't have any leads on Lilith or Jace, and no information on Clary. Did something happen that made you call me?

- Things got a little bit heated during my talk with Lorenzo. I'm afraid the warlocks are not an option - Magnus replied.

- Well, that's it. Jace is trapped in his own personal hell and I can't get him out. He asked me to kill him and I was too selfish to listen - Alec said guiltily and Magnus looked at him in surprise.

- Oh, Alexander, stop, you can't do that to your wife. Now you have to be there for her and help her take care of Alexis - Magnus noticed.

- Do you think I don't know that? - Alec asked resentfully. - But I have to kill Jace and maybe if there was another way I would change my mind, but there isn't - Alec sighed and started to leave the balcony.

Maybe it would be selfish, but if he had to choose between the safety of his wife and daughter and the parabatai, he would choose the former.

- There is still a way for me to gain enough power to cure him - Magnus confessed.

- What? What is it? - Alec asked him and he stopped and turned to Magnus.

- My father - Magnus explained.
