Lizzie stood next to her husband and looked at Morgan (the girl possessed by the Owl, who Izzy and Clary had caught during their mission) and watched her from behind the glass of the prison cell.

- Sarah. I have to get to Sarah - The possessed Morgan spoke.

- Whatever dark force you are, we will release you to your realm unharmed. Just tell us who helped possess this mundane - Alec told her.

- Take me to Sarah! - Morgan continued.

- Who is the Owl demon? - Lizzie asked her.

- Sarah! - Morgan shouted in a demonic voice and instead of answering, she hit the glass.

- Any luck? - Izzy asked them as she entered the basement.

- No breakthrough - Alec answered her and together with his wife, turned to his sister and then walked over to her. - What do you have?

- Sarah is her twin sister. They share an apartment in Queens - Izzy answered. - If Owl's modus operandi is consistent with his previous victims, Morgan is forced to kill someone she loves

- It's the 11th mundane this week who's become possessed - Alec said and everyone looked at the possessed Morgan.

- Owl is busy and special - The black haired girl said.

- Why? - The blonde girl asked her and looked at her sister-in-law.

- In a typical possession, the body cells would not be affected - Izzy explained.

- But Morgan's cells are? - Alec asked his sister.

- Her cells are no longer mundane. They are demonic - Izzy informed them.

- So there is no way we can save her? - Lizzie asked sadly and Izzy did not answer.

The spouses Lightwood was in their office. Lizzie was lying on the couch and trying to relax as her husband massaged her swollen feet. Through the bond of the twins, she could feel that something bad was happening to Jace.

- Something's worrying you - Alec told her and noticed the worry on her face and how tense she was. The shadowhunter guessed that it was about Jace.

- It's about my brother, something's happening to with him, but I don't know what - Lizzie confessed sadly, and Alec stood up and kissed her hand. The girl immediately relaxed under the warmth of his lips.

- Come in! - Alec shouted after hearing someone knock on the door.

- I got your alert - Clary said and she entered Alec and Lizzie's office. - Another Owl attack? - The red-haired girl asked them.

- No, blood unit hit downtown. Most likely some rogue vampire - Alec replied and stood up, then stood in front of the redheaded girl.

- We want you to take care of this with Jace - Lizzie added, who she changed her position to a sitting one.

- What about Izzy? - Clary asked them, with visible panic on her face.

- Well, why not Jace? - Lizzie asked her. The blonde girl suspected that Clary knew something she and her husband didn't about her brother.

- He's exhausted - Clary answered them.

- What? - Lizzie asked her.

- He hunts Owls 24/7 and he didn't sleep - Clary explained to her, but neither Lizzie nor Alec believed her.

- Are you sure this is about the dream? - Alec asked Clary, but the redhead remained silent, which aroused even more suspicion in the spouses. - When you and Jace were at Lake Lyn, my parabatai rune disappeared

- I'm sure you know something, you're just telling us - Lizzie stated. - Including what happened at Lake Lyn?

- I told you. I don't know - Clary told her.

- Listen... I know how much you care about Jace, how much you would do to protect him - Alec observed calmly. - And we appreciate that, but if there was something wrong with Jace, something serious... you would tell us, right? - Alec asked her.

- Brother, you look pretty tired. Are you sure everything is okay? - Lizzie asked him with concern.

- Yes, everything is okay - Jace said and avoided eye contact with her.

- You're lying - Lizzie stated, and Jace walked over to his desk. - I feel like you're different. You've been avoiding me, acting weird, and not looking me in the eye. And Clary told us you weren't sleeping

- I so why did you download the security footage of you entering the Institute? - Alec asked Jace as he and Lizzie walked over to the desk.

- What, are you spying on me now? - Jace asked him regretfully.

- No. Your sister and I are worried about you - Alec answered.

- I'm just tired - Jace replied and crossing his arms when then looking at them. - I asked Underhill to download the security footage to make sure all the cameras were on - The blonde manlied.

- My wife is right, you've been different since we got back from Idris. We're trying to figure out why... - Alec said. - And we think it might have something to do with your mother

- Why? - Jace asked them.

- Because we checked Céline's medical records and found out that she had a history of mental illness before she committed suicide. Our mother had psychosis, which can be hereditary - She informed Lizzie's brother.

- Do you think I'm losing my mind? - Jace asked them.

- No, no, we're just trying to help you... - Lizzie told him, but Jace interrupted her.

- Then stop making up problems that don't exist and getting mad at me for not being perfect - Jace said and started pacing around the room angrily.

- If you keep acting like this, I'll take you off the Owl case - Lizzie threatened as she and Alec turned to face him.

- What? You can't do that! - Jace shouted angrily. Lizzie had never seen her brother so angry and aggressive - Look, I may not be in the best shape, but I've worked too hard on this Owl case to be taken off it

- Then get help - Alec said.

- I don't need your help or... - Jace stated before turning to his sister - Or my sister who I don't need and hate right now! - He shouted at Lizzie.

- Don't talk to her like that - Alec shouted at him and slapped his Parabatai on the cheek. He would never do that, but the tone he used towards Lizzie pissed him off.

- She's not my sister anymore - Jace said before he walked out of his room and slammed the door loudly when he closed it.

Lizzie fell to her knees and started crying. Alec knelt down in front of her and hugged her.

After Jace's outburst of anger at his sister. Alec took her in his arms and took her to their bedroom. Then he gently laid her on the bed and went to the kitchen to make her some lemon balm tea.

- How are you feeling, honey? - Alec asked, when he entered the bedroom with the tea.

The sight of his wife crying broke his heart, because Lizzie was still reeling from what Jace had told her.

- Bad, because my brother hates me - Lizzie told him and sat on the bed. The girl wrapped herself in a blanket and looked at him with tears in her eyes.

- People say different things in anger - Alec noticed and put the cup of tea on the nightstand, which was next to Lizzie.

- I saw it in his eyes - Lizzie sighed, and Alec sat down next to her on the edge of the bed.

- He's not himself right now - Alec tried to comfort her. - I promise you we'll find out what's wrong with him, but for now you're going to drink this tea and get some sleep - Alec told her.

The girl took a cup of tea from the cabinet and drank it. It didn't take long before the blonde fell asleep, cuddled up to her husband.

2 hours later Lizzie woke up when to a message from her husband that all systems in the Institute had gone down. She quickly got out of bed and headed to the operations center.

- What's going on? - Lizzie asked when she walked over to her husband and Magnus.

- We're not sure. - Magnus replied.

- How long has the system been down? - Alec asked another shadowhunter, and the system restarted.

- Less than 10 minutes - The man who was walking towards them with Lindsay replied.

- Let's hope it was just a glitch - Lindsay said.

Alec and Lizzie looked at each other before they and Magnus quickly ran towards the nearest elevator. When the elevator doors opened the three of them found themselves in the basement and saw Morgan. The woman lay still in her cell and looked as if she were dead.

- No - Alec said and opened the cell door and then they ran inside. Man knelt down next to Morgan and turned her on her back while Magnus used his magic on her.

- What's going on? - Lizzie asked him as Morgan regained consciousness and looked at them confused.

- She's free of any demonic possession - Magnus informed them and stopped using magic on her.

- Where am I? - Morgan asked scared.

- Hey, are you okay - Lizzie said trying to calm her down. - You're okay
