Letters are a crucial mode of communication here in Eden and, with the help of magic, one of the safest ways too! They are able to carry large amounts of information on just a few pages of paper

Thankfully, the Zodiac Council has permitted us to publish these letters of darkness and love. Due to their status, many starlings hold them to high standards of what they think our protectors must be like, but deep down, the Zodiacs are just like us. They were once “ordinary” starlings like you and me. Let this Archive series serve as a reminder of this.

Dear mum,

How have you and dad been? How’s Henry holding up? I hope you have been taking care of him properly and haven’t forgotten to take him out on his morning and evening rides. Before you protest, Henry needs his exercise too. You can’t keep my horse cooped up all day or else!

Anyways, things here at the council have been extremely difficult and painful this past month. I miss the quiet countryside. It isn’t easy being the God of Plants and Seasons, especially with the development of Earth. Do you know how many forests are being burned down just to make way for some stupid factories that release poisonous gases that’ll eventually kill their planet? I won’t bore you with all the technical details but in short, they’re plain stupid and ignorant.

I’m looking forward to going home next month. I can’t wait to ride Henry down the old town road every day and I'm going to ride until I can't no more. I’ll have no stress because I've been through all that and I’ll be a free man who wouldn’t let nobody tell me nothing, even if it’s just for a few days.

Oh, and did you hear about what happened to Virgo’s parents? I can’t believe Mercury had the audacity to go to a party with you guys and cheat on Metatron! With Zadkiel of all people! Aren’t Zadkiel and Metatron best friends or something?

But I don’t think Metatron is right either…It’s only been a few days since she left and have already found a man who, as Virgo said and I quote, “treats her like the queen she thinks she is”. He apparently took her down to Earth and spent a lot of money on a brand-new guitar, diamond rings and Fendi sports bras…all for her…

Virgo isn’t holding up too well. She’s devastated, of course, and, yes, I’ve been doing my best to comfort her though nothing compared to Pisces. She’s like our second mother, sister and best friend combined, and have been looking out for Virgo in other ways that I can’t.

Speaking of Virgo, I finally got the courage to ask her out last month, after your last letter! I did as you advised—took her out on a romantic date by the Black Sapphire Beach and before you whoop my ass, no, I didn’t say or do anything stupid, or threatened her to be my girlfriend. Unless you count me stuttering as I confessed…but she said she found it cute!

Well, I’ve got to go now. Pisces just called a meeting regarding the next god trials. You have no idea how many applicants we got this time! I’ll tell you everything later, bye!

Our first letter in the Archive series is a letter from Capricorn, the God of Plants and Seasons, to his mother, Azrael. It had been a week after the Mercury-Metatron scandal when the letter was sent.

Family plays an important role in all our lives and their actions can have immediate effects not only on ourselves but on the people around us as well. Although the scandal may not have ended well, we’re glad Virgo has managed to come to terms with her stepmother and that both Mercury and Metatron are happy with their new partners. We would also like to send our congratulations to Capciron and Virgo and wish them a lifetime of happiness in their marriage!
