During the Dark Ages, the rebel forces, also known as the Darkness, waged war against the new Zodiac Council. They mostly consisted of gods from the Roman Council who didn’t want to step down from their positions of power to make way for the Zodiacs.

Previous gods and starlings were divided among the Darkness and the Zodiacs as brother turned against brother in what became Eden’s darkest period in history.

Dear Cancer,

I’m scared…Today’s been really tough. After our horrible defeat, some are wondering if we should surrender in order to prevent any more casualties. I’m not keen on waving the white flag, but if the situation calls for it, I might have to…

Being the eldest god is not easy. Everyone looks up to me like I know all the answers and the best way to handle things. I’ve never even fought in a war before, much less led one! Why did I have to be the first god of the new council? I’m not even that good at leading…always being the quiet, shy kid in school with you as my only friend…Why did I even accept this?

Thankfully, Nyx has been very helpful, always giving me pointers and advice on the military plans. I think I would’ve killed everyone, even myself, if it wasn’t for her.

But how are things on your side? How’re you and Scorpio holding up? Can you two afford to send more rations and medical aid over?

And here’s a poem for you and Scorpio. You know me, art is my way of coping and poems might be the only form available at the moment :)

This letter is from Pisces, the Goddess of the Sea and Sorcery, addressed to Cancer, the Goddess of the Moon, Night and Emotions. With Pisces being the *eldest god, during the Dark Ages, she was stationed at the frontlines to oversee the war operations there.

The letter might seem like Pisces is weak and too emotional, but it’s actually a secret code developed by Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio, who were also the only gods in the Zodiac Council to have fought in the Dark Ages. The real message of the letter hasn’t been disclosed to us and will probably never be, however, historians from the Museum of Eden suspect that it might have something to do with **The Great Turnover, an impossibly risky move that could’ve ended in so many different ways, but thank our lucky stars that it worked or life would certainly be very different.

**The Great Turnover: In the seventh year of the Dark Ages war, many thought the Zodiacs were losing as the Darkness had wiped out more than half of their troops on the Doomsday Wipeout. However, Cancer and Scorpio, who had been protecting the two evacuation camps, rushed down to the frontlines and they managed to turn the tides of the war, winning the war and bringing an end to the Dark Ages.
