⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ "I swear I've heard of a person like this before. I can't believe I don't remember the name. I have the file. You read it." Clint mentioned as he was training with Natasha in one of the rooms the facility held for that specific reason. "Yeah?" She breathed out as she threw a punch. "Maybe it'll finally ring a bell when I kick your ass." She added and he made a face as they continued to block hits as well as give them.
They've been training for a while till Natasha got distracted and went a bit too hard; hitting Clint's head roughly against the side. "Ow. Really Tasha?" He asked as he grunted and slowly got back up- holding his head in the process. "Sorry." She breathed out with her eyebrows furrowed. That's when he noticed the look upon her face once he looked up from his spot. "Something's on your mind." He mentioned and she pursed her lips before glancing at the news that had just appeared on the television nearby.
"Witnesses said they have spotted a woman fitting this description that had caused an accident near downtown." The news anchor started to say before a sketch of what was said to be the description was shown. Then the cam panned over to a witness that was there during the time of the scene. "Yeah, there was this woman that was dressed all... like... those medieval people I guess you could say... something like it and she crossed the street when the light was green. The car hit her and I'm over here thinking.. this woman is out of her mind. But she wasn't injured at all! In fact, when I looked around, I noticed children down the road crossing the street." The woman spoke and the news faded as both Natasha and Clint shared a look with one another.

Young adults raced to class as others took their time to get to their dorms- preparing for their late-night classes. That's who she aimed for. One of the college students that were currently getting out of class. "Excuse me." She spoke up as she approached a student. The young woman had medium-length dark brown hair, hazel eyes, a nose piercing, and a casual outfit. This young woman looked at the woman who approached her weirdly as if wondering where did she come from since she had never seen her around before.
"Uh, yeah?" The student said. "I'm in need of advice. Clothing wise." The vampire mentioned as she eyed the woman before her. "Yeah. Clearly." This student started to say before directing her towards the nearest clothing shop. Placing a hand on the student, she looked into her eyes before compelling her to forget. "Thank you for the information." She said before leaving towards the direction that was said. There were students nearby but that didn't bother the woman. The student was now confused about what just happened.
Making it back into the public area, she glanced around and discovered that there were in fact more than one clothing store. Eyes still looking at her from every angle didn't bother her. It's not like she didn't want to be found. She would know how to get out of it easily if she were captured- well if they didn't have the book of course. This book was what could stop her from doing what she wanted to do. In a way, It had its similarities to the book that was used to brainwash the one and only Winter Soldier.
The thing about this so-called book was the fact that there were things that she didn't want the world to know. Things she couldn't let get out there and things that were about her that she certainly didn't want anyone knowing. Information that the book contained within was something most skeptics, or anyone for that matter, wouldn't really understand. They would most likely call it gibberish even though, every Vampire or anyone who was capable of reading it, knew what it withheld.
There was a specific section that related to how she came to be and more information she didn't know of. Information about what she was really capable of. But alongside that part of information lied the piece of how to control her. That was the main reason why she was now on the lookout for this book. She had seen it a few times in her lifetime and knew of how it appeared to look. Hydra thought by the numerous amounts of times they had brainwashed her mind that she would completely forget but that was one of the perks of being a vampire with her specific skill set.
The sidewalks were busy as the streets were buzzing with cars passing by; others honking to get where they were going faster. Some were being real assholes and skipping everyone else- nearly causing crashes here and there. Those were the ones she would eye every now and then but as she crossed the street, safely this time, she couldn't help but feel a different pair of eyes on her. It wasn't just one, but two. Two people she had probably met earlier. It didn't bother her though, she kept on heading towards her destination.
- NORDSTROM -
(I've never been into the store before so idk but we'll work it out). Read the sign in big bold letters; announcing itself to everyone who passed by and wanted to shop at a clothing store other than the ones beside it. This was the first store she came across and thought by getting clothes that were currently in 'style', she would blend in to the society and how they went about their day. Of course it was clear to see that she didn't in fact fit in seeing how she's a vampire; but everyone in this time didn't know; and she would like to keep it that way. The less anyone knew of her species and her whereabouts, the better; but her most recent incident had already drawn attention- so there was no use on leaving the whereabouts portion in.
She could handle herself. She knew she could. Had all this time and would've been if it weren't for that damn book they made.
"Welcome to Nordstrom!" A young employee called out from her position as she was folding some new pieces of clothing to place on the shelves. The vampire couldn't help but have a look around. It wasn't till the employee, came up to her and asked if she needed help with anything when the vampire turned around to face her. "Why, yes. I am in search for appropriate attire that will fit for this century." She told the young employee and this employee went searching for something.
Must've taken awhile because she came back with about 6 different styles. Each one of them wasn't that appealing to her except for that one; there was just one that stood out more than the others. That was the one she went for. (Clothing below. You don't need to wear it if you don't want to)
Near the courtyard, from a distance, stood Clint and Natasha. "You know she might detect you." Clint mentioned as he took a sip of his coffee and looked at the opposite direction; watching as some of the pedestrians crossed the street. "I'm aware." Was all Natasha said before hearing some commotion in the store. Right before her or Clint could do anything, a man got thrown through the window; shattering it in the process.
He grunted in pain from the hard hit against the concrete as the woman walked out; grabbing him by the collar and lifting him off the ground with ease as she growled. "Dare come into this area again for robbery and you'll face worse than a hard hit to the face." The vampire told him before throwing him to the side- he was in pain and wasn't able to move much before the police had quickly came. But, as the two assassins attempted to gain a closer distance to the vampire, a large crowd was being formed; so by the time they got there- she was gone. "Dammit..." Natasha muttered.
A/n: okay... I feel like THIS chapter is eh because of the amount of times I've been pulled away smh :(
