⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ "Mama!" A young girl called out as she ran down the streets of her little town. People passing here and there through the market as others were shouting out the prices of their merchandise. "3 coins!" One yelled. "5 coins!" Another called out as they looked for anyone who was willing to buy their things. After all, they were just trying to make a living and go day by day like everyone else.
"Mama!" The young girl called out once more as she gained a closer distance to her home than before. She was excited to see her younger sister who was just about to be born in the next few months. She was older by more than few years and was happy that she wouldn't have to be alone anymore while her mother was busy doing things.
"Relax, sweetie. The baby's not going anywhere." The mother chuckled once she noticed her daughter breathless standing at the doorway once she came in. A smile so bright, it could blind someone. "Now, go fetch your belongings and set the table for dinner. It's almost be done." The mother spoke and the daughter, after catching a much needed breath, ran to do as her mother requested.
That was 1329. Way before everything changed for the worse. When things were swell. Nothing was wrong. She wasn't a.... Monster.... That's how she viewed herself. As nothing more but another monster that was created to do what monsters do. Destroy, make people fear them for what they are, rather than love them for who they are.
The memories kept coming as she walked down the streets of the busy city, hearing people talk to each other. Some would smile, others were in more of a rush so they weren't late for work, as the few would ask a couple of people how their day was going; being friendly- which was a rare occasion for the modern day society now. Back then, it would happen often. The sound of children laughing, screaming, as they had fun at a nearby playground filled her ears as she crossed the street and made her way towards a park. There stood and sat parents as they let their kids play; some of the parents knew each other and chatted with one another. This brought back a memory she cherished for so long. One of her sister and her.

"Come on!" Claire called out as she ran down the same streets of the little town that they lived in. "Wait!" Y/n could be heard replying with a smile as she followed suit. The age difference was there. It was clear to see from a distance, and of course, if the person wasn't blind. There was one blind man that she knew and he was very kind, not to mention friendly. Whenever the two sisters came to visit, he was filled with nothing but smiles. He had no one else. No other relatives that stayed with him, or cared for him. No children of his own. He was alone, which is why he always loved their company. Just because he was blind, didn't mean he wasn't smart. People tend to attempt on stealing from the poor man or trick him, but he had always outsmarted them in the end.
"We mustn't venture too far! Mother said it." Y/n mentioned when she noticed her little sister heading towards the woods. "But there is something you must see!" Was the reply that was given, instead of an 'okay, let's go back.' Venturing further into the woods, Claire had abruptly stop and grabbed her sister's arm; causing her to stop. "What is it?" Y/n questioned as she caught her breath and noticed a smile upon Claire's face. All she did was point towards the area in front of them and that's when she spotted what her sister so desperately wanted to share. It was a doe with her babies. The creatures stood there looking at the two girls to see if they would frighten them or do something to them but they didn't.
They must've stood there for a while because then, before they knew it, it was gaining darker. "Come on." Y/n started to say. "I'll race you back home." She added and Claire smiled once more before admitting that she was given a 5 second head start; making Y/n playfully roll her eyes. "Alright." She sighed before letting Claire run first. "Ready or not, here I come!" She called out before chasing her sister back home.

The memory faded when a parent could be seen walking towards her now- one that was speaking with a different parent just a few moments ago. "Hi. Have any?" She spoke as she was referring to the children. This immediately pulled on Y/n's mind. She was stripped from it; from ever having kids of her own due to all of the experimentations that were done. "No, I'm afraid not." Y/n replied as she glanced back at the kids once more. The woman did as well before pointing out if Y/n was okay. "What do you mean?" Was followed by Y/n before the woman stated that a tear had managed to fall from her eye.
This made Y/n wipe the tear with a near confused look before realizing it had to be the connection with the memory she had. "My apologies, I wasn't made aware of my emotions acting up." Y/n mentioned before the woman shook her head lightly. "It's alright." The woman said before sharing a look with one of the other parents before looking back at her. "Say, would you like to come for a chat? You look like you might need one." She offered and you glanced over to the group the woman was with. "I don't want to intrude." Y/n said and the woman shrugged it off. "No need to. Come on." She replied and they both started to walk towards the group.
