She feels the eyes as she locks the door.

She can't escape their waiting glare,

Rattling her to the very core.

She sees the words on the screen

And presses block even though it feels mean.

She's haunted in person, over phone, and in dream

She closes her eyes but can't escape the beam

That falls from the eyes as they watch her sleep,

Tossing and turning, always biting back a scream.

The few who she trusts

Whittled down to just three.

Everyone offers encouragement, half-heartedly

But all she really wants to do is flee.

She's being irrational, the voices will say

But then why- why- won't they just go away.

She's haunted by eyes that were once kind and tame

But now, her dreams tell her they'd stop at nothing to reclaim.

So she pleads for an end to the eyes and their gaze

And drifts deeper beneath the misty haze

Of living a life that's not quite alive

While the old her disappears within a dusty archive.

She is haunted.

She is lost.

She has nowhere to hide.

She is haunted.

She is lost.

She is hollow inside.

She is haunted.

She is lost.

She needs somewhere to hide.

She is haunted.

She is lost.

She can feel the eyes.

She is

Haunted.

She is

Lost.

She is

Dead
