Did you know that your words sunk deeper than a knife?
Did you know they might go through?
When you told them to kill themselves,
Did you know what they might do?
Did you know the hurt they feel inside?
Did you know how many they'd leave behind?
Did you know your words weren't "just a joke?"
Did you think before you spoke?
Did you know that if they commit
You can be taken to court?
Did you know that as the judge may see
You committed murder in the third degree?
Did you know, with your little joke,
How serious it may be?
Did you know that it'd rock the boat
And toss them into the sea?
Do you know how fragile our world is?
So much sensitivity, so many insecure
And even though
Your intentions may be pure,
Words can hurt
And words can kill
So think before you blurt.
*A/N this poem was inspired by the absurdly large amount of times I've heard people telling others to go kill themselves. It's not funny and it needs to be addressed imo.*
