After 8 years

That softness of the pillow was the best experience of sleep. I didn't want to get up from the squishy mattress of mine. Curving into a ball, I covered myself with the sheets. My eyes were shut closed. All I wanted was to sleep all over again.

"Y/n-ah, aren't you up yet?"

The air of my room was greeted by loud bangs on the door and the usual rantings from my brother. I hid between the sheets, not wanting to get down from the bed.

"Y/n-ah! Wake up! Don't you make me come inside now"

I groaned in frustration. It's not like anything would happen if I sleep five more minutes. I peeked through the sheets and looked at the neon digital numbers in the clock upon the nightstand.

"Why the hell is he yelling at this time? It's freaking five in the morning for god damn sake" I muttered, letting out a long yawn while rubbing my sleepy eyes.

With a clicking sound, the door opened revealing my impatient brother standing there. His arms were crossed upon his chest with a disapproving gaze on me.

"Five more minutes please" half asleep, I mumbled wrapping myself with the soft bedsheet again. Before even I could think of sleeping again, the sheets were pulled away from me. The cold blast from the opened door hit me making me shatter from the low temperature.

"Brother-" I whined frowning my face.

"You aren't sleeping again Kim Y/n! How can you be like this on your first day at job?"

"Aish, stop yelling Seokjin. Alright, alright, I'm up"

I stretched my stiffened body letting out another yawn. I eyed Jin who was now watching me like a guard dog, rubbing the back of my neck. A sudden chuckle escaped from him. I looked at him confused with his mood swing.

"What are you smiling at?" I was still bitter about being woke up this early. He plopped his body on the edge of my bed and ruffled my already messy hair.

" This was your dream, right? You worked so hard to it and now look at you sleeping like a sloth in the first day" His state made me laugh.

What he said was true.

I worked, correction...I died and suffered a lot to become a doctor. To make my dream come true. After the death struggle, I finally graduated with my degree to give people the service as a doctor. I was living with my brother Kim Seokjin since I was studying at Seoul university in my first year of medical college. After those tough years of studying and being depressed, I somehow reached my ultimate goal. 

Finally became a doctor, just like my brother...

"Now why are you smiling?"Jin chuckled seeing my lips stretching to a smile. I let out a soft sigh shaking my head sideways.

"Nothing"

Seokjin was a brother that you can't find in a million. He was always my guardian when I left my home town to study. Even I don't show my gratitude to him often, he's the best brother anyone can have. I'm just not good at expressing my feelings to anyone. Especially when they are close to me.

"Thank you for everything Seokjin" He raised his eyebrows like he heard something wrong.

"Now leave before I change my mind" I glued my eyes on the floor, nibbling my inner cheeks with my tongue.

"Pabo" he ruffled my hair once again before standing up from the mattress.

"Get ready and come down for breakfast" I nodded my head and jump from my bed to do my morning routine. I proudly looked into the mirror, checking myself from every possible angle while wearing the white uniform. I just tied up my hair to a simple ponytail to fit the charming clothes. Not too fancy, the way I like the most.

The aroma of the tasty breakfast was spreading downstairs. Jin's cooking is always mouthwatering. I sniffed the air trying to figure out what he's making.

"Waffles!"

I screech in joy when I saw the yellowish-brown colour hot breakfast. My all-time favourite. Jin placed my plate in front of me after he poured the syrup on top. He pulled a chair to himself and joined me as well.

"Jungkook is already on his way to the hospital. You are late" 

"Really? Aish lemme finish eating fast" I stuffed my mouth with the waffles in a great hurry. Of course, I was overexcited and as a result, I started coughing, unable to swallow my food.

"Yah Y/n-ah, how many times I have told you not to do this no matter how hurry you are?" Jin patted my back while handing me a glass of water.

"Sorry sorry, Aish I swear to god" I mumbled.

"Did you just swear?" Great, now I am in trouble.

"Me? No, you must be having hearing problems. Ok let's go, brother, I am ready" I swallowed the last piece of waffle and gulped down another glass of water. Jin sighed letting out a sigh.

"Wait for me"

We left the house, heading to the hospital by his car. I was both excited and nervous. Jin kept reminding me about what to do and not to do every single minute. I was waiting for him to stop his lecture while looking out from the window.

We were waiting for the colour lights to turn green. Even it's early in the morning, many people have already hit the road to start their day. My eyes caught the figure in the car next to us. 

It was probably a man.

His face was covered with a mask and pair of shades. His long fingers were covered with a pair of gloves. I don't know why but I kept looking at him. That guy was concentrating on the colour lights.

"Y/n, are you listening?" Jin snapped at me.

"Mm.. yeah"

My eyes were still fixed on the man. Why is he covering his self like that? Is he scared of germs or what? Even his hands are covered with those gloves. Maybe he's just taking extra care of himself. Why do I care anyway?

"Why the hell is this taking so long?" Jin frustratingly groaned while impatiently checking the front.

That man suddenly turned his head towards me.

My body shivered for some reason. Even I can't see his face, I felt that smirk underneath his mask. Darkened shades blocked my way to read his emotions. A chill touched my skin. The spark of lightning went through my spine.

"At last" Jin raced to distance our car from the creepy man's car. I felt relieved for nothing. Absolutely nothing happened but I felt safe when I no longer saw that man. I saw him for only minutes but he made some kind of impact on my mind. I found the whole situation,

Strange

I shrugged off my thoughts when Jin announced that we are almost there. I tried to erase the stupid thing from my mind and gained my sense again.  Jin swung opened the car door and got down. I noticed the man leaning on the black car in the car park. I jogged at him in excitement.

"Kookie-ah!" His face lit up from joy as he saw me.

"Y/n" I practically jumped at him to hug him. He spun me a little before keeping me down.

"Excited?" He asked me grinning widely. I nodded chuckling at his statement.

"Hell yeah"

Jeon Jungkook, was my best friend. My true and only friend who was there for me when others left me. We both were going to work in the same hospital where Seokjin was. As much as I was happy to work with him together. We were bonded as a family all these years.

" Alright kids enough chit chat, let's go"

"Aish Jin hyung, we aren't kids anymore. At least not me. I am a grown man" Jungkook brushed his white suit, trying to act mature.

"Pft, as if" I rolled my eyes seeing his behaviour.

"Baby" Oh boy, there he goes starting to tease me at the crack of dawn. It's his favourite hobby of course. Annoying human bunny boy.

"Remind me why we are friends again"

"Yah, guys let's move shall we" seeing Jin getting on his nerves, we both decided that it's safe to end it here. After exchanging a glance we both started moving hiding our laughter. On his signal, we both loudly yelled in his ears from each side making him flinch.

"Doctor Kim and Doctor Jeon at your service sir!"

"You two are making my face wrinkled" we both managed to escape fuming Jin before he could catch us.

"Wait till I catch you both" he followed us muttering to himself.
