Chap dedication toย LARUSSO-SKARSGARDย .
Quick a/note: Hey everyone! I noticed you all are really enjoying this story. I am super happy you have, this is an extra long chap, introducing some more characters, both mysterious and awesome.
Johnny kept a tight grip over the massive cut that was on his stomach. He was aggravated by the fact he knew Ronin would come looking for him. But he already fought sixteen of Riot's best mercenaries. Soon enough secrets were uncovered in the bar of Riot. I turns out Johnny discovered that Riot has been working with the Scavengers. Curiosity is what got him injured. He overheard a conversation that there was a cell block underneath Riot, with more than one hostage. Johnny took a moment and leaned against the door frame of the massive storage room. The lights were dim, and stacked crates created opportunities for anyone to jump out.
A low growl rung throughout the room, "Johnny Silverhand. Did you enjoy the party? And how's your girl?" A viscous tone said. Johnny's gaze travelled around the room, trying to locate where it was coming from.
Johnny didn't answer, he wasn't going to allow the man to find where he was. Otherwise that would of gave the man the upper hand on taking him out.ย
The man slowly rounded the corner. He wore a leather jacket, had dark brown hair that was shoulder length. He had a hidden silver handgun that was shadowed behind his belt line.
"Nothing from the legend himself?" The man chuckled lowly. The chuckle was slow and consisted no emotion towards Silverhand.
"You haven't aged a bit, Silverhand..."
"Cipher or should I say Nash." Silverhand greeted him with a low growl.
"Do tell me how is your girl? The one with the virus."
"Ronin isn't my girl and she doesn't consist a fuck'n virus." Johnny shot back at Nash.
"Oh but she does. Two years ago, Arosaka released a Virus into one of the locals. Two weeks ago a girl and a bruit broke into the cheap hideout of the Scavengers, managed to find the local with the virus. Biggest mistake she has ever made. She contracted the virus when she was hacking into the patient's biomon. The Scavengers thought they could create more then one copy, trying to unlock it's secrets. But they failed when your girl contracted the virus. How do you think she's been screwing up, physically and mentally, it will eat her up." Nash finished explaining.
Johnny felt his chest start to slowly swell. How was it that Cipher knew the secret of how the virus leaked into Night City. How could someone so powerful release a virus that kills, without thinking about the extermination of cyborgs or the consequences.
"You're lying." Johnny growled.
"Am I? You'll see as time passes as it will slowly consume her. But you clearly explained how she was nothing to you. A year from now she'll be gone, and she'll become a faded memory of her existence-"
"Spare me your bullshit, Cipher. I will free her from the virus some how, but first I'm going to kick your ass."
"Idiot, bring it on." Nash whispered under his breath and then lunged at Johnny.
Johnny's hand curled into a tight fist and swung at Cipher. It was like slow motion, gravity and time stopped. Cipher dodged Johnny's attack. Inches, Silverhand's fist passed by Cipher's face. Cipher made quick movements and punched Johnny in the side.
Then tried to land another punch to Sliverhand's face. Johnny blocked his punch, but Cipher's punch was so powerful it sent Johnny sliding nine feet back. Smoke curled from Johnny's boots as he stood his ground.
Quickly Cipher darted over to Johnny. He jumped up and tried to land a spinning kick, each attack Johnny terminated his attacks. Cipher landed a slick punch to Johnny's jaw. The power from the punch sent him stumbling. Johnny dodged his next punch by ducking. Johnny landed swift kick to Cipher's gut. Cipher growled in response, but still continued. Johnny lunged at him, attempting a Superman punch, but instead of landing a perfect shot, Cipher grabbed him by the wrist and flipped him. The air as knocked out of Silverhand. Silverhand quickly recovered and got back on his feet before Nash could scissor kick him.
Nash took a moment to catch his breath, "Silverhand, show me a little effort."
Johnny took off running in a flash. He believed that if he got to higher ground, he would be able to have a better advantage. Instead, Nash followed his lead.
Quickly Johnny halted when Nash swung off of a metal screen. Johnny ducked and grabbed his legs and swung him into a couple of stacked oil barrels. Each hit didn't seem to work on Nash, he simply got up each time. Johnny was slowly becoming more exhausted fighting Cipher. He wasn't sure how much longer he could keep this up.
"Silverhand, I'm not impressed." Nash insulted Silverhand and lunged at him once again. He decided to continue his strategy, three hit combo. Each time he would switch up between kicks and moves. Cipher was able to see Johnny''s attacks before they were made.
Johnny tried to parry Nash's attacks, but Cipher surprised him with a slick uppercut. Johnny's back swiftly collided with the stacked cargo containers. Johnny slowly lifted his head, blood drizzled down from the side of his lip as he tried to catch his breath.
Pressure swelled in his lungs, Johnny started to cough relentlessly until a small splatter of blood decorated the concrete floors.
Johnny's chest slowly rise up and down as he rolled onto his back, trying to mask the pain and exhaustion. Nash was Honorable, he wouldn't kill Silverhand while he was on the ground.
"Come on, get up." Nash placed his hands on his own knees and caught his breath.
The room was silent as Nash waited for an answer, "Are you flatlining?" Nash questioned with a small, devious smirk. He wiped the small amount of blood from his lip.
Johnny's vision started to cloud, while his ears started to ring. He kept a casual, tight, grip on his wound. He couldn't stop the bleeding, Johnny managed to create a clot on the wound earlier. But after fighting Nash in hand to hand combat, it tore back open.
"Get up!" Nash yelled in frustration. Nash ripped off his 404 error shades. Johnny's eyes slowly closed shut.
Ronin slowly stepped over most of the bodies. Knowing that Silverhand left a trail for her to follow. She followed the bodies down a narrow hallway that led to a staircase, one up and one going into the basement. Small whimpers caught her attention. Her ears perked a to where the sound was. It was a small hidden cell next to the stair case.
"Hey, is anyone there?" Ronin questioned, trying to convince herself that she wasn't crazy, that she actually heard it.
The whimpers and crying continued, Ronin took out her handgun and shot the lock. A small scream was made in the response of a terrifying blast.
Two women slowly strode over to me. Their mascara was running, they had blood and scratches on them. Ronin's eyes softened. Something inside her ignited a fire. That fire catches and travelled through her blood. Her stomach twisted, her muscles tightened, she only felt anger. She wanted to hurt the person who did this to these women.
"Who are you?" The black haired girl questioned.
"No one, just someone who cares for the ones who are harmed. I am just someone apart of this world." Ronin answered simply, extending a hand out, assuring them she wasn't going to hurt them.
"No she meant, what's your name?" The blonde hair one questioned quietly.
"Ronin Silverjynx." Ronin answered. The two walked closer to Ronin knowing she wouldn't hurt them.
"Thank you, Ronin." The Blonde one replied to her.
"Don't mention it. Here." Ronin handed the blonde girl a card, it had Thomas's number on it.
"Call this number when you get to a cellphone, you can trust Thomas, he's a Bounty Hunter. Explain to him what and who did this to you two, or even how ever many people have been kidnapped." I added, the raven-haired women nodded. Tears started to flood her eyes. I could see how grateful she was. I couldn't even estimate how long they've been here for to begin with.
The raven-haired women wrapped her arms around me in a gentle hug, her face was buried into my shoulder.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you." She cried out in happiness. I cant even remember the last time I hugged someone, no one in my life has ever shown me empathy or affection. This was new, she gave a gentle squeeze, my shoulders started to relax. But soon enough I gave her a hug back, knowing she needed it.
"Samatha, lets hurry up before someone finds out." The blondette interrupted.
"O-okay." She stuttered and followed the blonde. I felt a tug on my pocket before she left. My hand curved into my pocket. I found a vile, it had blue liquid in it. It glowed just like the pink liquid the bartender put into my drink. I exited the awful cell that smelled horrible. It was dark and humid, flies buzzed every so often. A small cot was in the corner, andย a hole in the ground, around four feet away from it. That must of been the Bathroom...
Ronin's stomach twisted, she knew she had to find Johnny, and tell him whats going on. Even though she wasn't his friend, was nothing to him, she didn't give up on finding him. She could sense something was up. She turned her back on the stairwell and walked the opposite direction. Silverjynx continued, slowly, down the the narrow hallway. Her gaze spotted a bloody hand print and small blood droplets on the concrete floor. She rounded the corner and walked into a massive storage room. With investigative eyes, she noticed more blood on the floor.
Her heart pounded in her ears how silent it was, a mild ring continued on how silent it was. She carefully walked into the empty room. She briefly licked her chapped lips, and furrowed her brows when her eyes followed the trail of blood. Her blood ran cold when she saw Johnny possibly out cold, he was leaning against a couple of crates. She felt her limbs and muscles go numb. Fear struck her right in the heart, she prayed he wasn't dead. Without hesitation she ran over to him, immediately collapsing onto her knees, she searched for a pulse. He had a normal pulse, which meant he was pretending to be out cold. Ronin tapped his cheek.
"Johnny? The hell happen to you?" She questioned, he didn't respond. She became utterly confused on why he didn't respond.
"Silverjynx is it?" A voice startled her, her hands curled into tight fists, her nails dug into her palms with fury. She knew the voice belonged to the man responsible for Johnny's silence.
Her head whipped over her shoulder, she kept a calm expression, jaw clenched. She stared at the brown haired man, in a leather jacket. She knew Johnny was a excellent fighter. If anyone intended on beating him would be considered the best of the best.
"And?" She questioned Nash.
He was silent, he just gave her a cold stare. The stare must of been a response on what he didn't like hearing.
"Silent one are ya? I guess this means there's no hard feelings between the two of us after this?" Ronin gave a generous smile. He gave her a simple nod, what Ronin didn't realise was he was premeditating what she was planning to do. She slowly strode over to him and held out a hand.
"Since you already know my name, can I at least get yours?" She questioned. He was confused at first why would she want to know the name of the man that hurt Johnny? And why would she act so friendly. Then he realised this was all apart of her little game. She was a simple pawn of the game, very rarely will the pawn ever attack the king.
"Cipher." He replied, he didn't shake. She gave him a simple nod, Nash held his ground. She turned her heels, but unexpectedly she punched him as hard as she could. His head whipped the opposite way, small amount of blood sprinkled from his mouth. He knew there would be a deadly bruise on his cheek later.
"That's for hurting Silverhand." She commented. Nash saw red, almost a narrow tunnel in his vision. He grabbed her by the throat and tossed her across the room. The vial slipped from her pocket and rolled across the floor. Her back slid across the concrete floor and into a metal shelf.
"Ow." She growled. Then an idea cyclones through her head. She took out Johnny's gun that he gave her. Like any cheap move she decided to waste a whole clip. Cipher moved his arm in front of him, a red translucent shield appeared in front of him. The bullets bounced in different directions off from his shield.
*Click!*ย
A sound was made from her gun. She quickly got up, but Nash immediately predicted what she was going to do. He was faster than her, stronger than her, and less predictable. He shot right in front of her, when she tried to punch him, he caught each of her attacks. He instantly flipped Ronin onto her back. The impact knocked the air out of her, he didn't allow her to catch her breath. He grabbed her by the throat and slammed Silverjynx against the wooden pillar.
Her hands wrapped around his wrists, her nails dug into his skin.
"Easy on the hits, has your Mother ever told you not to hit a girl?" Ronin choked. Nash happen to realise that if he kills her, then he'll contract the virus. But since Ronin used a special cord to connect to the last patients biomon, it created a gateway into her system. He knew that Ronin was going to have a difficult life with the virus, until it kills her. His thoughts weren't consumed by anger anymore, but more remorseful thoughts. He slowly opened his grip and dropped her. She immediately choked on air, gasping every so often, until her breathing was normal.
Nash turned his back on her, and slowly strode over to the nearest exit where his motorbike was.
"Round two sometime?" Ronin weakly joked, feeling a wave of exhaustion consume her.
"Sure. I don't see anything interfering with that offer." Nash's answered with a casual raspy voice. Ronin leaned her head back and rested it on the wooden pillar, until darkness consumed her. No doubt a staff member might find both Johnny and her there, but it didn't matter at this point. In conclusion Nash knew about the virus, even who produced the virus. Nash knew it was made in Arosaka's labs. The Arosaka family was the ones who blackmailed his family after his Brother created bad reputation. He was on a mission to stop Arosaka from creating anymore viruses, stealing money from the ones who had next to nothing, and for his own cause. Ronin never knew Nash in the first place, she knew he was up to something, but who knows maybe that was just a casual thought after getting her ass kicked.
Ronin's pov.
'System rebooting'
20% critical failure.
I inhaled deeply, my eyes fluttered open examining my whereabouts were. I felt constant and cold droplets of rain hit my arms. I was leaned up against a brick wall of the alleyway. Sirens and busy cars screamed throughout the city.
"Wake the fuck up, Ronin." I heard a raspy voice. My gaze shifted over to where I heard the voice. I saw Johnny and another girl staring at me. The women had dark blue hair, that was short. She had perfect eyeliner that made her eyes look much more alluring.
"We have a city to burn." Johnny added. Ronin stared at Johnny with a exhausted and confused gaze.
"So this was the gal of the hour that fought Nash and saved my Johnny's ass?" The women joked. Johnny rolled his eyes at the thought.
"Not exactly, she came in a bit too late." Johnny protested with a cold tone.
"Says the one who acted like they were asleep." I fired back with a smile.
"Is that so, Johnny?" The women questioned.
"I passed out from the pain, until I found a blue vial." Johnny said with an honest answer. I knew that vial was the one I dropped.
"I would of won if I didn't drop it, even from getting tossed across the room." I replied to Johnny.
"Well it came in good causes. Now get up, its time we pay Mr. Arosaka a visit. Kasey, start up the chopper when ever you can." Johnny ordered. My stomach twisted at the thought, I was in no condition to fight a full army of corpo's at Arosaka's tower.
"Johnny, she isn't in the condition to fight any more." Kasey argued against Johnny's plan.
"She'll be fine-"
"Take her back to her place. Then when she's feeling better she'll take the stand." Casey interrupted Johnny. Johnny was silent for a moment and let out an annoyed sigh.
"Alright." He said in a defeated voice.
"One moment." I commented, trying to gather enough energy to get up.
"That'll be too long." Instead Johnny reached over for me, placing his arm under my knees and one around my back.
"What a gentlemen." Casey joked to Johnny.
"Something I'll never become, but in her case this will be only once." Johnny replied to Casey. Casey followed Johnny out of the alley way and went her opposite way to her vehicle.
"Hopefully she'll drop by at the Afterlife, maybe sit down and have a drink with us. Maybe even meet a couple of friends of mine." Casey suggested.
I started to zone out, "Sure." I whispered before my conscious faded. My head gently rested against Johnny's chest, before everything faded away.ย
