Chapter 29
Friday, October 17th - The Basketball Tournament
"Come on, let's buy one! I want to share it! Please! Please! Please!" Y/N whined as she tugged onto Jimin's sleeve, showing him her best puppy eyes. "Please!" he sighed,
"Fine. Fine. Fine!" he agreed as he got the extremely large pack of popcorns that Y/N desired so badly, her eyes lighting up when he hands it to her. "Happy now?" she nodded as she shoved a large handful of popcorns into her mouth, making Jimin shake his head at her impatience. "As long as you are happy, anything..."
You see, Y/N wanted to buy a massive pack of popcorns and share it with Jimin. However, Jimin hates popcorns, so now, for Y/N he has to eat them.
They took the best seats in the crowd since they were early. Watching the players, especially Jihoon, warming up as they waited for more people to occupy the benches. Y/N munched on her popcorns and waved at Jihoon, his heart skipping a beat when he sees her puffy cheeks stuffed with popcorns. He waved back at her with a smile.
More and more people started to take the empty seats as the air became warmer and the stadium started to lose its immense spaciousness. Jihoon's heart throbbed against his chest as bounced the ball on the ground, he'd do that often before the matches began.
The stadium of the school was finally filled with parents, students and teachers that were all chanting for Y/N's school to win. However, on the other side of the stadium, the teachers, students and parents from the other team's school were cheering just as loudly. The coach stood on the field and blew the whistle, all the players attacking each other as if it was a bloody battle. Y/N watched Jihoon, he was blocking a guy from the other team, trying to get the ball in his place. Once he was able to catch it, all the people from Y/N's school cheered and the cheers got at least twice as loud when he was able to throw it inside the ring.
He stole a quick glance at the crowd, and just as he hoped, for one second, his eyes met Y/N's. She watched him with encouragement and the determination in her eyes, he really felt motivated by her supportiveness.
"Ten minutes left!" the coach shouted into the mic, making all the sweaty players accelerate the speed of their running. Jihoon was rushing to block a guy from receiving the ball and passed it to Mu-Yeong who was closer to the ring. He took a deep breath before throwing the ball and scoring, both teams were now tied. "Come on, come on! Five minutes left!" the coach on Jihoon's side yelled again as he glanced at the timer nervously.
One minute left, yet none of the teams close to making a score, until...
Jihoon stole the ball from a guy on the other team and closed his eyes as he threw the ball towards the ring. The stadium going silent as they thought that it would be a miss, but it started rolling on the ring before falling inside of it. Everyone on their side stood up and cheered as all the chests of the players dropped either in relive or disappointment.
Y/N and Jimin hugged each other "Well, dang! That was an exuberant match! He did so well, he literally scored on the last second of the game!" she praised him with a pure glint of excitement in her voice.
"There he is! Today's star!" she cooed as she ran towards Jihoon who was waiting for them near his car, he then hugged her tightly, "Do you have like a celebration-thing? Or not? If not, we can go somewhere and have dinner together!"
"Nope, we usually have it on the next day since all the players must be exhausted..."
"Then dinner it is! I'm offering!"
Saturday, October 18th
Jimin and Y/N were going on with their story, becoming more and more indecisive about who's the female lead going to choose. The nice, kind and bright twin? Or the mysterious, cold and mean twin? Why does it sound like such an easy choice when in reality it isn't? The thing is, that Y/N and Jimin both knew that they were writing the story strongly basing it off their own life. Jihoon makes Y/N's heart flutter and makes her feel special, but Jimin makes her feel warm and important. And if you're wondering, yes, being special and important is different. When you're special you're a unique person, something original, but when you are important, it doesn't matter whether you are unique or not, you are valuable.
"On the 18h of November is mom's death anniversary..." Y/N randomly said, making Jimin tear his gaze from the screen of his expensive laptop, "It's one day before the trip, but can you and Jihoon please come?"
"Of course, we won't leave you alone..." he reached towards her to pat her head carefully as if she could break if he was too 'harsh'. Her heart twitched at his touch as if that one beat was way stronger than the rest when he touched her. "So far though, we are doing great with the story and it's all thanks to your silly, interesting, funny and bizarre ideas!" he lightened up the mood.
"Our books will be the best, we will publish it and we'll get a lot of money, right?" he couldn't help but laugh extremely at her words. He gave her a supportive nod and got back to typing, "By the way, where did you get the idea to do a mom-like cousin for the female lead? Where did you get the character Kim Soojin from anyway? Did you copy it from somewhere?"
"Yes..." he snickered as he slowly looked up at her curious expression, "You know my brother's friends? Kim Seokjin... well I copied his personality and half of his name." she froze for a moment to think about his words... Seokjin? That's when she burst into laughter rolling on the floor, and as she did that, Jimin thought that she kind of looked like a carrot since she wore an orange shirt. "You look like a carrot..."
"Ha! Then you say I'm the one who comes up with weird ideas... I hope he doesn't sue us for plagiarising his personality..." they held back their laughter for a second, but they both failed.
Oh, how great it is to have you in my life, An Y/N...
