Chapter 14

Friday, September 12th

That morning, Y/N waited for Jihoon at her locker, but she didn't see him at all. Soon, it was already time to head for her first class, P.E. As she grabbed her stuff from her locker, she noticed that Jimin had finally arrived. "Here you are! Where's your brother?" she asked as she watched him placing his books into his locker.

"He left the house twenty minutes earlier than me, he always does. Anyway, he said he had to talk about the basketball tournament with Yoongi and Taehyung. I heard that yesterday at dinner. Did you know that we have a running test today? Mr. Lee checked the weather and said it's really good, plus it's in the morning, it's refreshing."

Y/N looked at him with a terrified look as she felt her heart getting heavy. P.E was a subject that she hates for many reasons, especially because of her lack of skills, so knowing that she had a test made her feel irritated.

"We h-have a-a running t-test?" she stuttered, staring at him as if he were some undiscovered species of animal. Jimin just nodded and started walking away. "Jimin, wait up!" she ran towards him and grabbed his arm, clinging onto it, "Let's go together!" Y/N whined, making him giggle as they made their way to the changing rooms.

"Good morning class! As you probably know, today we'll be taking a running test! More precisely a hundred-meters running test. It's quite self-explanatory, but I'll give you instructions on it anyway. All you need to do is run a hundred meters and I'll write down how many seconds it took you to do so."

Y/N groaned. She absolutely detested running. Meanwhile, for Jimin, it was diverting watching her being all annoyed and jittery as she was scared to come in the last place. Contrasting his friend, Jimin didn't mind having a running test, it could be delightful but also really boring to run, however, on that precise day, he did feel like running.

"Please line up into your respective tracks! Y/N stand in Lane 1, Jung Hoseok please stand in Lane 2, Namjoon in Lane 3, Yoonseok in Lane 4, Yoongi in Lane 5 and lastly, Seokjin please stand in Lane 6. All the rest, please stand behind someone in any lane, there should be 3-4 students per row."

Jimin went to stand behind Y/N in Lane 1, giving her a boyish smile when seeing her grumpy expression. And after everyone was in a lane, the teacher blew the whistle and the first row of people sprinted. Jimin cheered for Y/N loudly, waving his arms in the air like a mad monkey.

"Go Y/N! You are doing so well! You are fourth, come on, come on! Run faster!" he shouted and Y/N simpered through the pain, trying to run as fast as she could even though she was out of breath. When all the first row had run the hundred meters, Mr. Lee announced their scores.

"Yoongi, first place, 7.58 seconds, fantastic! Jung Hoseok 8.25 seconds, good job! Namjoon 8.54 seconds, great job! Y/N, fourth place, 10.59 seconds, wow! That's an interesting score! Seokjin, fifth place with 11.21 seconds, well done! And in sixth place, we have Yoonseok with 12.52 seconds. It's okay you all did great, all your scores were really good! Next row, please!"

Jimin stepped forwards and bent down, waiting for Mr. Lee's command. "Second row! On my count, ready, set, go!"

As soon as the sharp squeak of the whistle rang in Jimin's ears, he sprinted as fast as he could and just like he did for her, Y/N applauded for him. "Yes, Jimin, go! You are first, you got this! Dashi run, run, run!"

He was the first to reach the end, and he was really tired. "Well done, Jiminie, you are the best!" Y/N clapped excitedly and Jimin smiled at her shyly as he squatted down, trying to catch his breath.

"Okay well done to the second row, here are your scores: first place, Park Jimin with 7.51 seconds. Second place, Kim Taehyung with 8.07 seconds. Third place with 9.47 seconds, Yoon Sora. Fourth place with 10.53 seconds, Lee Eunseop and at fifth place Jang Soomin with 13.11 seconds. Lastly, Soo Jaejun with 14.28 seconds! Good job to everyone! Seems like all of are pretty quick runners! Okay, let's get it third row!"

As the third row was running, the first and the second row were resting and having a water break.

"Jimin, you were really amazing! You were first and even faster than Yoongi!" Y/N complimented and gulped down some water, still feeling breathless. Jimin thanked her and after all the other rows were finished taking the test, the teacher was kind enough to release his students five minutes earlier.

Jimin and Y/N were both really tired after the running test, so they quickly went to their English class and rested. A couple of minutes later, Jihoon arrived and Y/N quickly stood up from her seat, jogging up to him. "Hey, I heard from Jimin that in the morning you had something to discuss with Yoongi, right?"

"Yeah, about the basketball tournament, it'll be in mid-October, more precisely on the 17th of October. Do you want to come and watch me?" he asked, beaming at her as Jimin scoffed unobtrusively, and what annoyed him even more, was Y/N's spirit as she replied.

"Yes, I'll definitely be there to cheer for you!"

...

"Y/N, do you like History?" Jihoon asked as he took out his history notebook from his locker. Y/N took a few seconds to herself, so she could think about an answer to portray her puzzlement towards the subject.

"Well, I mean, it's definitely better than math, but it can be boring sometimes. Plus, I hate our seatings, I'm literally sitting next to Kim Taehyung!" she rolled her eyes as she pronounced his name and that made Jihoon crow.

"Hi, guys! You've probably heard about the trip and I think you may know how it connects to history. It's actually pretty simple, all you have to do it's just research the history of the buildings you'll see in London. I'll give you more details when we get closer to the time for the trip." Mr. Kang explained lazily before giving his class assignment to work on.

After twenty minutes, all students were quietly seated in their history class as they completed their individual assignments in their notebooks. Jimin stood up and asked the teacher if he could head to the washroom, and after that Jihoon had told the teacher that he needed to fill up his water bottle since it was empty.

Near the restroom, there was a fire-alarm button and Jihoon pressed it before quickly running back to his classroom. As soon as Jihoon entered the classroom a loud noise rang throughout the room. "ALARM, ALARM! ALL TEACHERS AND STUDENTS, PLEASE EVACUATE QUIETLY AND LEAVE YOUR BELONGINGS BEHIND! REPEAT! ALARM, ALARM! ALL TEACHERS AND STUDENTS, PLEASE EVACUATE QUIETLY AND LEAVE YOUR BELONGINGS BEHIND!"

"Guys! Quickly line up with a partner, don't waste your time deciding, just stand near someone and form a line behind me!" Mr. Kang yelled as he frantically rushed into the hallway, waiting for everyone to line up behind him. Jihoon promptly grabbed Y/N's hand and stood in the line with her.

"But how about Jimin? Where is he? Is he still in the washroom?" Y/N frowned worriedly as she looked around, her eyes searching for his figure attentively.

"He's probably behind us! Let's go!" Jihoon dismissed her worries and started running down the emergency stairs, following behind Mr. Kang. However, she pulled her hand out of his grip and started running away, "Where are you going, Y/N!?!" he shouted.

"I'm going to find Jimin!"

Jihoon sighed and followed after her, making sure she wouldn't notice him.

"Jimin! Are you here?" Y/N stood outside the boy's washroom, calling out for Jimin, but after two times of her shouting the same sentence, there was still no reply. She then decided to run into her history class and saw Jimin looking around, not knowing what to do. "Jimin! Here you are!" she sighed in relief as she ran up to Jimin, engulfing him into a tight hug.

Jihoon felt angry, every time he tried to be with Y/N, she chose to be with Jimin. Initially, he didn't plan to blame Jimin for the alarm, he was going to say it was his fault because he thought that Y/N would go with him. He wanted to say that he accidentally pressed it with, but because of Y/N's choice, he decided he would let destiny put the blame on Jimin. After all, Jihoon was really smart and kind of planned all this ahead.

There were no cameras near the washroom where the emergency button was found, and since Jimin went to the toilet it would be easy for him to take the blame. The only two ways to get to the toilet were the left hallway and the right one. In the left hallway, there were no security cameras, but there was water-filler which is where Jihoon headed to as he had told his teacher.

The right hallway was the only one to have cameras, meanwhile the left and centre hallways do not have them. It'd be easy for Jihoon to frame Jimin since the central corridor is where the toilet is located, however, you have to get there through the right corridor. That's why, Jimin would be caught on camera going to the washroom, but Jihoon wouldn't.

Since the school was pretty new, they haven't installed cameras everywhere yet. But how does Jihoon know about all that? Easy. His and Jimin's dad was the one to pay for the cameras of their school and he also knew the places where they'd be at.

In conclusion, all that Jihoon did was walk from the right hallway to the left one, to give the 'watcher' the idea of him going to fill up his water. Then he switched his direction to the central hallway and pushed the button before returning to class.

To be continued...
