Baylee gasps as she sits up from her bed sweat on her forehead while she tries to catch her breath.

Once she finally calms herself down and goes to lay back down the worst noise imaginable is heard.

Her alarm starts going off.

Groaning the blonde throws her covers off her body before sitting up and hitting her alarm clock as hard as she could.

It was a miracle the thing hadn't broken yet.

With a shake of her head, Baylee looks out her window seeing the sun shining through before getting up and starting to get ready for the first day of junior year.

Which was another miracle. She was starting her junior year. A year that she shouldn't be starting at all

Baylee Gilbert should be dead.

Just like her parents.

It's been four months since the day everything changed.

The day Baylee woke up in a hospital room with Jeremy and Caroline on either side of her and Tyler at the foot of her bed. All three looked at her sadly with tears in their eyes.

The second Baylee opened her eyes Jeremy jumped on her sobbing as he held his sister close to him. Baylee could never forget the words that came out of his mouth.

Their parents were dead but somehow Elena and Baylee lived. Elena woke up a few hours after the accident but Baylee didn't wake up until the next day.

The doctors said it was due to her head injury and blood loss. She had a very bad concussion from hitting her head so hard on the window when the car went under.

The next four months were the hardest she had ever had, and Baylee Gilbert's life has never been easy.

Helping plan a funeral she didn't think she would have to do until she was like seventy not seventeen.

Her Aunt Jenna had to move in taking full guardianship over all three teenagers with her still grieving her only sister.

It was hard at the beginning.

Elena woke up screaming from the night terrors of the accident.

Jenna struggling with the new responsibilities.

Jeremey turning to drugs to help cope.

And Baylee just turned into a shell of who she used to be. Once again. Surprise surprise.

As time went on people started moving forward but it didn't make anything easier.

Their parents were dead. The three siblings missed their mom's laugh as the two siblings got into a banter on who the better characters were off of Friends.

Their dad's famous chocolate chip pancakes every Sunday morning. Their weekly game nights always ended with Baylee or Jermey throwing popcorn at someone. Usually, their Dad who laughed before he hit both of them with pillows making everyone laugh.

They missed the small things. Their mom's smile or their dad's terrible jokes. Their cologne and perfume. It didn't get easier but it hurt a little less.

Through all of it, Caroline Forbes never left either of their sides.

Caroline forced Baylee to go to cheer camp when she got back from the lake. Which she was beyond thankful for. Baylee needed a distraction before she started to overthink everything.

Even through her own grief, Baylee made sure she was there for everyone else.

She made sure Jermey had someone to just hold him when everything got too much. She made sure Jenna didn't become too stressed and took a second to just breathe.

She was also the one who slept in Elena's bay window when she had her night terrors after the accident. She stayed up all night just in case Elena needed her.

Baylee became their rock. The ones who made sure they all ate. Especially since Baylee was the only one who could cook mostly because it was something both she and her dad loved and bonded over.

The one who held them if times got too rough. The one who made them start to live again. Even if they didn't want to admit that they were.

But through it all, she was falling apart. More and more. She could still feel like she was in that car drowning over and over again every time she closed her eyes.

Baylee sighs as she looks in the mirror her hair curled and some natural makeup on with her signature pink lipstick on.

"You got this Baylee Gilbert. You got this," Baylee says with a smile as she looks down at her outfit which consists of an olive green sweater top along with white jeans and a pair of brown booties to finish it up.

"Baylee! Hurry up or you're going to be late!" Jenna yells as Baylee nods once more at herself in the mirror before heading downstairs and into the kitchen.

"Toast. I can make toast," Jenna says making Baylee shake her head at her aunt.

"You will burn it," Baylee tells her Aunt making her turn Jenna glares at the girl playfully as Baylee smiles at her.

"It's all about the coffee, Aunt Jenna," Elena says as she pours some coffee into her cup making Baylee nod her head at her.

"Is there coffee?" Jeremy asks as he walks into the kitchen kissing Baylee on the top of the head before taking Elena's coffee out of her hands and making her glare at him.

"Your first day of school and I'm totally unprepared. Lunch money?" Jenna asks as she holds up about five dollars.

"I'm good," both Elena and Baylee say as they shake their heads but Jeremy shrugs taking the money.

"Anything else? A number two pencil? What am I missing?" Jenna asks making Baylee look at her as she snaps remembering something making Jenna look at her.

"You have a meeting with your thesis advisors today. I emailed them to change your time to ten to go because I knew you would be late," Baylee says making Jenna sigh in relief.

"You are a lifesaver," Jenna says as she runs her fingers through her hair takes it out of the clip, and grabs her bags.

"Be good! Don't ditch school! Call me if you need me!" Jenna yells out as she runs out the door.

"Love you!" All three Gilbert kids yell out as Elena looks at her baby brother concerned.

"You okay?" Elena asks him as Jeremy rolls his eyes at her before shaking his head.

"Don't start," Jeremy says as he kisses Baylee's head before walking out of the kitchen. Elena sighs as she watches him leave.

"He's doing better," Baylee says as Elena nods, and a beep is heard followed by a yell.

"Baylee Gilbert get your cute butt out here before we are late like we always are because of you!" Caroline's familiar voice yells making Baylee shake her head with a smile.

"You okay?" Baylee asks as she looks at her older sister only three days concerned.

"I'm okay," Elena says making Baylee nod slightly.

"If you need me text me. No matter what," Baylee says as Caroline honks again. Elena smiles at her sister as Baylee starts running towards the door.

"Jeremy I'm leaving Care's here. Do you need a ride?!" Baylee yells as Jeremy comes down the stairs with his backpack.

The two siblings smile at each other as they run outside and get into Caroline's car. She smiles at the two as she holds up two coffees. One hot and the other cold.

"One black coffee and one iced caramel latte," Caroline says making Baylee smile as she kisses Caroline's cheek before taking the drink Jeremy smiles at her as he takes his coffee.

"Oh I love you," Baylee says with a happy sigh making Caroline smile before eyeing her best friend as she pulls out of the driveway.

"Are you talking to me or the coffee?" Caroline asks as Baylee looks at her sheepishly.

"You probably don't want to know," Jeremy says as Caroline shakes her head at Baylee and smiles as Jeremy shakes his head at her.

"Coffee. Is my one true love. After cheese fries of course," Baylee says nodding her head and making Jermey laugh shaking his head.

"So did you hear? There's supposed to be a new stud-," Caroline starts to say but suddenly a crow hits the car making Caroline slam on breaks as Baylee holds the dashboard and Jeremy holds the seat in front of him.

"What the hell?! Baylee are you okay?!" Caroline yells as she looks at her best friend who is nodding not saying anything.

Jeremy looked at his sister concerned watching her breathing making sure she wasn't starting to have a panic attack. Once again.

She had them when she was younger but they stopped after a few years of living with the Gilbert's but some things still trigger them.

But after the car accident, they came back full force.

The first time was in the car after leaving the hospital Jenna had to pull over due to Baylee having a panic attack.

"I'm okay," Baylee says as she looks at her brother who was looking at her concern.

"I'm fine Jer. Are you okay?" Baylee asks as Jeremy nods smiling slightly at her but worry still clear in his eyes.

"Care?" Baylee asks making Caroline smile although still concerned.

"I'm okay," Caroline says as she starts driving again. The three continue down the radio not seeing the crow on top of the radio sign watching.

Arriving at the high school Baylee smiles at Jeremy as he walks away and the two best friends walk into the school.

"The grill after school?" Caroline asks making Baylee nod.

"Of course! Just have to run an errand and then I'll go," Baylee says as Caroline nods.

"You doing okay? And I mean mentally and emotionally not physically," Caroline says making Baylee smile at her as she grabs Caroline's hand locking her pinky with Caroline's.

"I'm doing better," Baylee says making Caroline nod before she sees someone.

"Elena. Oh, my goodness!" Caroline says rushes to the brunette to hug Elena making Baylee shake her head as she smiles hugging Bonnie.

"How are you? Oh, it's so good to see you. How is she? Is she good?" Caroline asks concerned as she looks at Bonnie who lets Baylee go with a smile.

"Caroline, I'm right here. And I'm fine. Thank you," Elena says as Baylee eyes her knowing she was lying.

"Really?" Caroline asks not believing her.
"Yes. Much better," Elena says with a forced smile.

"Oh, you poor thing," Caroline says as she hugs her again making Baylee shake her head at her best friend's antics.

"Okay, Caroline," Elena says tapping Caroline's arms to let her go.

"Oh! Okay, see you guys later?" Caroline questions as she grabs Baylee's arm.

"OK! Bye!" Bonnie yells as Baylee smiles at her winking at her.

"Bye Bon-Bon! I'll see you soon," Baylee yells as Bonnie shakes her head while both Caroline and Baylee go to their lockers.

"I have Tanner first who do you have?" Baylee asks Caroline with a groan.

"I have chemistry," Caroline says making Baylee groan before seeing something behind Caroline.

"I got to go and stop my sister from killing my brother," Baylee says with a groan as she walks toward the men's bathroom.

A boy comes out making Baylee push him out of the way as she walks in seeing Elena holding Jeremy's jaw in a tight grip.

"Great. It's the first day of school and you're stoned," Elena says with an angry expression.

"No, I'm not," Jeremy says as he looks at Baylee for help but she just raises her hands. She wasn't going to stop her unless she went too far.

"Where is it? Is it on you?" Elena asks as she starts patting Jermey down.

"Stop, all right?! You need to chill yourself, all right?" Jeremy yells as he tries to move away Elena looks at him with an unbelievable expression.

"Chill myself? What is that, stoner talk? Dude, you are so cool," Elena tells him sarcastically making Baylee shake her head while trying not to laugh.

"Look, stop! I don't have anything on me. Are you crazy?" Jeremy asks as he looks at Baylee with begging eyes making her sigh as she walks closer to the pair.

"You haven't seen crazy, Jeremy! I gave you a summer pass, but I am done watching you destroy yourself. No, no, no, you know what? Go ahead. Keep it up. But just know that I am going to be there to ruin your buzz every time, you got it? Jeremy, I know who you are. And it's not this person. So don't be this person," Elena says as she walks out of the bathroom with a shake of her head.

Baylee looks at Jermey with a sigh as she walks up to him wrapping her arms around him.

"You were doing so good so what did that slut say?" Baylee asks annoyed. If their one person Baylee Gilbert hated it was Vicki Donovan.

Now Baylee understood that the girl has had a hard life with her mom always leaving and her dad walking out of the Donovan sibling's life years ago but they did not make what she was doing to Baylee's little brother okay.

Stringing along both him and Tyler. Someone Baylee loves as a brother as well and he loves her as a little annoying sister not that he would ever admit it.

"She got back together with Tyler," Jeremy says with a sigh as Baylee looks at him sadly.

"I'm sorry Jer," Baylee says as the warning bells sound.

"I'll see you later," Jeremy says as he kisses the top of Baylee's head before leaving the bathroom. Baylee sighs before walking out of the bathroom and bumping into something.

"Oh, fudge!" Baylee yells with her eyes closed about to fall down when suddenly an arm wraps around her waist stopping her from falling.

Baylee opens her eyes to see a guy in a black leather jacket with forest green eyes and arms wrapped around her waist. Baylee paused against him wide-eyed.

"Sorry. I was looking for-" the boy says as he looks at the door with an amused face.

"Men's bathroom," he says as he looks back at Baylee whose checks begin to heat up. The boy looks at her with his eyes twinkling in amusement.

"Only this would happen to me," Baylee says as she looks at him with a sheepish smile.

"Would you believe me if I said I came in here looking for my baby brother who my sister was yelling at him?" Baylee asks him playfully as the boy playfully shakes his head.

"Nope," he tells her making Baylee sigh as she scrunches her face up nodding.

"Yeah, thought so. I'm just gonna go and save myself from further embarrassment," Baylee says as she turns on her heels and starts to walk to class.

Just as she turns the corner, she looks back and sees him already watching her.

"Oh by the way new boy I'm Baylee!" Baylee yells as the boy laughs at her.

"Stefan," he tells her making Baylee nod as she walks away. Stefan shook his head at the blonde-headed girl.

After school, Baylee walks to the flower shop to get a bouquet of daisies before walking toward the cemetery.

Baylee sighs as she walks toward her parents' graves seeing Elena already writing in her diary. Baylee put the flowers beside their graves while taking the old ones out to throw away.

The two came to the cemetery together at least once a week to talk or just spend time with their parents. Elena wrote while Baylee caught them up on everything that had happened.

She would tell her mom about a new sale where she got shoes. While she told her dad about something new she made for dinner or baked.

It was relaxing at times. Like all the weight on her shoulders disappeared.

"Hey, Mom. Hey, Dad, today was our first day. Mine and Elena's first day being juniors and Jeremy's first at being a sophomore. It was weird not seeing you two before we left. Dad threatening to kill any guy who looked at me and Elena funny and Mom smiling and wishing us all good luck," Baylee says with a sigh. Just then a crow appears on her parent's gravestone making Baylee look at it funny.

"Uhm hello, little guy. Do you think you can like leave and go to another gravestone?" Baylee questions as the crow flies away.

"Weird," Baylee mutters as she looks at Elena who is looking just as creeped out. As Baylee turns around back to the gravestone the crow reappears making her move back as the fog starts to ascend around the cemetery.

Behind a tomb, Baylee sees a man standing there.

"Elena let's go," Baylee says as she grabs her sister's hand, and the two start to run. As they were running Elena trips and falls almost bringing Baylee down with her.

"Are you okay?!" Baylee asks wide-eyed as she helps Elena up.

"Are you both okay?" A voice asks behind the two sisters making them both jump looking wide-eyed at Stefan.

"Don't do that! Especially in a cemetery!" Baylee yells as she squeezes her chest wide-eyed taking deep breaths as Stefan looks at her apologetically.

"I thought you were a serial killer!" Baylee yells at Stefan who tries not to laugh as he looks at her apologetically.

"Were you following us?" Elena asks making Baylee look wide-eyed at her before she face plants into her own hand.

"No, I-a, uh, I-a just - I saw you fall," Stefan says stuttering as he looks towards Baylee who was shaking her head.

"Uh-huh, and you just happened to be hanging out in a cemetery," Elena says as Baylee looks at her as if she was stupid.

What were we just doing here then? Baylee mentally questions herself.

"I'm visiting. I have family here," Stefan says as Elena looks down embarrassed.

"Well, I'm going to go. I have to meet Care and still need to go by the house first," Baylee says as Elena nods and Stefan looks at the blonde.

"Nice to see you again Stefan. Hey if you want a bunch of us are going to the grill tonight. You should come and make some friends," Baylee says with a smile as Stefan nods smiling at the blonde.

"Thank you for the invite Baylee," Stefan says as Baylee nods before walking away.

After going home and getting her car Baylee drove towards the grill walking in to see Bonnie and Caroline. Baylee smiles at the two as she walks over to them.

"So his name is Stefan Salvatore. He lives with his uncle up at the old Salvatore Boarding House. He hasn't lived here since he was a kid. Military family, so they moved around a lot. He's a Gemini, and his favorite color is blue," Caroline says as Baylee shakes her head smiling at her best friend.

"You got all of that in one day?" Bonnie asks as she eyes Baylee.

"Oh, please, I got all that between the third and fourth periods. We're planning a June wedding," Caroline says as Baylee gets a sprite, and the three walk towards a table.

"As long as I am the maid of honor," Baylee says as Caroline scoffs shaking her head at her best friend.

"Is that even a question? Oh, and I seriously better be yours at the wedding of the century!" Caroline tells Baylee who laughs shaking her head at her.

Matt comes over to the table and sits down with Bonnie making Baylee get up with Caroline as the two walk to the pool table.

"There's my favorite Puppy," Baylee says as she ruffles Tyler's hair making him glare at her.

"I am not a puppy Baylee and stop messing with my hair," Tyler groans as both Baylee and Caroline laugh at him.

"Please like she's ever going to stop. Baylee's been calling you a puppy since third grade when you played a dog in the school play," Caroline says as Baylee nods and Tyler groans.

"My little puppy," Baylee says going to pinch Tyler's cheeks but her moves away from her making her laugh at him.

"I'm going to go get some more to drink. You want anything?" Caroline asks looking at Baylee who shakes her head.

"Want me to come?" Baylee asks making Caroline shake her head.

"No it's fine I'll be right back," Caroline says as Baylee nods and turns back to Tyler who starts to look at her with concern.

"Are you okay? I know you hate that question but I want you to know if you need me. I'm here," Tyler says making Baylee smile at him.

"You are truly my little puppy. So loyal and adorable," Baylee says as she pinches Tyler's checks who looks at her annoyed and a little embarrassed.

"Baylee stop," Tyler says moving away from her. Before Baylee could say anything Tyler stopped while looking at something behind her.

"Well well well I see little Miss Gilbert has now moved on," Tyler says making Baylee confused as he points making her turn around to see Elena and Stefan walking in together.

"Oh look Matt's walking up to them. You think he might punch Stefan?" Baylee asks with an excited smile making Tyler shake his head at her.

"You know you are a bitch right?" Tyler asks as Baylee smirks at him.

"No baby that's you," Baylee says as she moves away from Tyler's playful slap that almost hit her.

"I am not a female dog Baylee!" Tyler yells making many people look at him as he begins to blush just making Baylee laugh as walks back to her table and sees Caroline, Bonnie, Elena, and Stefan sitting down but squeals when she sees what is on the table.

"My cheesy fries!" Baylee says as she sits down between Bonnie and Stefan grabbing the fries and starting to eat them making everyone look at the blonde amused. Caroline goes to take one making Baylee slap her hand away.

"No, my fries. If you wanted some you should have ordered them," Baylee says making Caroline roll her eyes playfully as she looks at Stefan.

"Uh oh be prepared Salvatore for the upcoming interrogation," Baylee whispers to Stefan who looks at her confused as Caroline starts to question him.

"So, you were born in Mystic Falls?" Caroline questions him.

"Mm-hmm. And moved when I was still young," Stefan tells her with a slight smile.

"Parents?" Bonnie questions next.
"My parents passed away," Stefan says as Elena looks at him sadly.

"I'm sorry," Elena says as Baylee looks at Stefan tapping his arm.

"Fry?" Baylee questions him making all three girls look at her wide-eyed as Stefan smiles taking a fry from her plate.

"What? He was sad. I do not do well with emotions," Baylee states as if it were common sense the three shake their head at her while Stefan smiles.

"Any siblings?" Elena asks after a second.

"None that I talk to. I live with my uncle," Stefan tells her as he smiles before taking another one of Baylee's fries who glares playfully at him making Stefan smirk.

"So, Stefan, if you're new, then you don't know about the party tomorrow," Caroline says making Baylee groan not wanting to go but knowing she had to well more like forced to go.

"It's a back-to-school thing at the falls," Bonnie says as she shakes her head at her best friend.

"Are you going?" Stefan asks looking at the Gilbert sisters. Before Baylee could answer Bonnie stopped her by placing a hand over her mouth.

"Of course, they are," Bonnie says before a disgusted look comes across her face and she quickly removes her hand away from Baylee's mouth.

"Did you just lick me?" Bonnie asks making Caroline Stefan and Elena laugh while Baylee sticks her tongue out.

"You were asking for it," Baylee defends shrugging her shoulders and making Bonnie glare at her playfully as Baylee laughs eating her last fry.

"Alright as much fun as this interrogation I have a Friends marathon that I need to watch tonight," Baylee says as she grabs her purse.

"Bu-bye!" Baylee says as she waves goodbye leaving the grill with Jeremy chasing after her for a ride home.

"Friends marathon?" Baylee asks as the two siblings drive home.

"Hell yeah!" Jeremy yells making Baylee laugh as they drive him.

"Ross is toxic! Rachel should have ended up with Joey!"

"Joey is so hot!"

"Ugh, I wish I could hug Pheebs!"

Jeremy Baylee and Jenna say as they watch friends together in the living room sharing a large popcorn and covered in blankets.

The next day went by quicker than Baylee would want. Especially watch the Friends marathon till two am.

So getting dressed in a pair of white jeans with a denim shirt and a soft cardigan on was a challenge itself and involved a lot of coffee.

Having Tanner as her first period did not help Baylee in her half-asleep mood as she sat with Stefan on her right and Tyler on her left.

"The Battle of Willow Creek took place right at the end of the war in our very own Mystic Falls. How many casualties resulted in this battle?" Tanner questions as Tyler and Baylee play tic-tac-toe.

"Ms. Bennett?" Tanner questions making Bonnie look up at him.

"Um...a lot? I'm not sure. Like a whole lot," Bonnie says making everyone chuckle as Tanner glares at her.

"Cute becomes dumb in an instant, Ms. Bennett," Tanner says making Baylee scrunch her nose up in disgust as Tyler laughs at her.

"Perv," Baylee whispers to Tyler disgustedly who nods at him.

"Mr. Donovan? Would you like to take this opportunity to overcome your embedded jock stereotype?" Tanner questions Matt.

"It's okay, Mr. Tanner, I'm cool with it," Matt says as more chuckles are heard making Tanner look around the room.

"Hmm. Ms. Elena Gilbert? Surely you can enlighten us about one of the town's most significant historical events?" Tanner questions making Baylee look up from the game she was about to win.

"I'm sorry, I--I don't know," Elena says embarrassed making Tanner glares at her.

"I swear if he says something Tanner likes I will make him wish he was never born," Baylee says in a dark tone making Tyler wince already knowing what was coming.

"I was willing to be lenient last year for obvious reasons, Elena. But the personal excuses ended with summer break," Tanner says when suddenly a scrap was heard and something slamming hard against a desk.

Everyone looks to see Baylee Gilbert glaring at Tanner. Some worried. Another's amused and used to this already.

"You need to shut your mouth, Tanner. You do not get to belittle your students on information no one knows because all you do is bully them. Maybe the one who needs to be taught something is you. Like manners perhaps," Baylee says as she sits back down while Tanner glares at her but you can see the fear in his eyes.

"And also there were 346 casualties. Unless you're counting local civilians," Baylee says with her arms crossed glaring at the teacher.

"Very good. Except, of course, there were no civilian casualties in this battle," Tanner says glaring at the middle Gilbert.

"Actually, there were 27, sir. Confederate soldiers, fired on the church, believing it to be housing weapons. They were wrong. It was a night of great loss. The founder's archives are, uh, stored in the city hall if you'd like to brush up on your facts, Mr. Tanner," Stefan says making Tanner glare at him instead as everyone smirks.

"Hmm," Tanner says as he turns back to the front to teach something as Baylee looks at Stefan with a smirk.

"I had it you know," Baylee says as Stefan smirks at her.

"I like knocking him down a peg he needs it. His ego is a little too big for his head," Baylee says shrugging her shoulders.

"I know but wanted to take him down a few pegs too," Stefan says making Baylee laugh.

"I think this is a start to a beautiful friendship Salvatore," Baylee says making Stefan shake his head.

"I think so as well Gilbert," Stefan says as they smile at each other before turning back to the front.

"Nothing like bonding over destroying your teacher's ego," Baylee tells Stefan making him laugh as she laughs with him.

After school, Baylee drove Caroline and Bonnie to the bonfire already knowing the blonde would get drunk and would need a designated driver and the brunette didn't want to drive by herself.

Caroline went to get a drink while Baylee went up to Bonnie and Elena.

"Wait, you need a crystal ball," Elena says making Baylee confused as she walks closer to the two.

"Well here's your Crystal ball," Baylee says with a shake of her head giving Bonnie a bottle that she picked up from the ground.

Bonnie smiles in thanks as she takes the bottle and accidentally touches Baylee's hand in the process. Bonnie spaces out for a while and once she comes back to her senses Bonnie abruptly pulls her hand back from Baylee.

"Bonnie, are you okay?" Baylee asks as Bonnie looks at her confused.

"That was weird. When I touched you, I saw a dagger," Bonnie says making Baylee look at her confused.

"What?" Elena asks just as confused as she looks at her sister who shrugs.

"A dagger. A wolf. And blood. Lots and lots of blood," Bonnie says making Baylee tense as Bonnie shakes her head.

"I'm drunk. It's the drinking. There's nothing psychic about it. Yeah? Ok, I'm gonna get a refill," Bonnie said as she walked away leaving the two sisters confused.

"I'm going to go check on her," Baylee says making Elena nod while Baylee walks off looking for the Bennett.

After looking for about five minutes Baylee sighs before going to find Caroline to see if she's seen the Bennett.

Walking closer to the blonde Forbes Baylee sees Stefan standing with her.

"Hey! There you are. Have you been down to the falls yet? Because they are really cool at night," Caroline says with a smile clearly a little bit tipsy.

"I think you might have had too much to drink," Stefan says with a polite smile making Baylee walk faster to the two.

"Well, of course, I have it's a party," Caroline says as Stefan smiles shaking her head.

"Caroline. You and me, it's not gonna happen. I'm sorry," Stefan says as he walks away and Caroline looks down close to tears.

"Oh Care," Baylee says as she hugs the blonde walking away from prying eyes. Caroline shakes her head as Baylee wipes the tears from her face.

"He's a jerk Care and next time I see him I will make sure to punch him in the throat or something along those lines," Baylee says making Caroline laugh but the moment ended when a yell was heard.

"Somebody help!" Elena yells making Baylee turn to see her brother and sister coming out of the woods with an unconscious bleeding Vicki.

"Jermey! Elena!" Baylee yells as she runs toward the two. When she gets to them she starts to look Jermey over.

"Are you okay?!" Baylee asks wide-eyed as Jermey nods looking at Vicki.

"I'm fine. Will she be okay?" Jeremy asks as Baylee looks towards the female Donovan.

"I hope so," Baylee says as she holds Jermey close to her looking at Elena who was watching the paramedics load, Vicki, into the ambulance.

"I am going to text Jenna to come to get you and Elena or do you want to ride with me? I've got to drop Caroline and Bonnie off first," Baylee says as Jeremy shakes his head.

"No, go ahead I'm pretty sure Elena already called Jenna," Jermey says as Baylee looks at him concerned.

"Are you sure?" Baylee asks as Jermey nods.

"Alright when I get home we can watch whatever you want and I might let you eat some of my Ben & Jerry's ice cream," Baylee says making Jeremy smile as Baylee runs towards her car which Bonnie and Caroline are already in.

"Let's go get you both sober," Baylee says as the two laugh at her while Baylee shakes her head.

Arriving at the Grill Caroline and Bonnie sat down as Baylee ordered them some coffee.

"Are you sober yet?" Bonnie asks Caroline sobering up after one coffee.

"No," Caroline says clearly still drunk.

"Keep drinking. I gotta get you and Bonnie home. I gotta get me home," Baylee says as she pushes the coffee closer to the blonde.

"Why didn't he go for me? You know, how come the guys that I want never want me?" Caroline questions making Baylee look at her sadly.

"I want you Care," Baylee says making Caroline smile at her as she lays her head on her shoulder.

"I'm not touching that," Bonnie says as Baylee rubs Caroline's knuckles.

"I'm inappropriate. I always say the wrong thing. And...Elena always says the right thing. She doesn't even try! And he just picks her. And she's always the one that everyone picks, for everything. And I try so hard, and...I'm never the one," Caroline says making me look down sadly.

"It's not a competition, Caroline," Bonnie says as Caroline shakes her head.

"Yeah, it is," Caroline says making Baylee grab her chin and making Caroline look at her.

"Then be the Caroline Forbes I know and win. Find someone who loves you and respects you Care. Your Prince Charming will come soon enough. I promise," Baylee says with a smile as Caroline smiles at her.

"I'm going to go get another water. Do either of you want anything?" Baylee asks as both girls shake their heads. Baylee nods as she gets up walking towards the bar.

"Hey Elliot," Baylee calls out making the bartender walk over to her.

"Another water?" Elliot asks making Baylee nod with a smile as Elliot goes to grab cold water from the freezer in the back. Baylee sighs as she sits on the bar stool waiting for the water.

"Who sits at a bar and orders water?" A voice questions making Baylee turn to see a blue-eyed man in a leather jacket.

"One who is underaged and doesn't drink," Baylee says not even looking at Damon who nods his head.

"Well that's a shame," Damon tells her as Baylee shakes her head.

"Not really. I'm not a really big fan of alcohol," Baylee says as the man scoffs.

"Hate it. The smell. The taste. The smell of it on someone's breathe," Baylee says gagging as she shakes her head. The smell of alcohol just brought memories she did not want to remember.

"You're a teenager who hates alcohol. I have now seen everything," Damon says making Baylee laugh as she shakes her head. Just then Elliot comes back and smiles handing Baylee the water.

"Thanks, Elliot," Baylee says as he smiles at her going to serve other customers.

"I have a question. Why did he go all the way to the back to get water when they are in the cooler right there?" Damon says as he points to the freezer with water in them.

"Because I love almost frozen waters and Elliot is nice and keeps me one whenever he works," Baylee says with a shrug as Damon shakes his head.

"Nice to meet you-," Baylee draws out as Damon smirks at her.

"Damon," he tells her making Baylee nod.
"Baylee," she tells him as she walks away.

"You too Baylee," Damon says as Baylee smiles once more before heading back to the table to see Caroline almost sober as Bonnie got up.

"Let's get going," Bonnie says as Baylee nods getting Caroline as the three walk out to Baylee's car.

After dropping Caroline off with Bonnie's help to get her inside and in bed Baylee then dropped Bonnie off before she headed home.

Arriving she went to take a shower and change into her pajamas before heading towards Jeremy's room.

"What do you want to watch?" Baylee questions as she lays down on the bed with her pillow. Jeremy smiles as he turns on the TV.

"Transformers," Jermey says making Baylee roll her eyes as the movie starts to play.

The two enjoyed the moment together before they fell asleep. Baylee snuggled into Jeremy and Jeremy held her tight scared to lose the one he loved the most.

What neither knew was what was coming. The dangers. Lies. Betrayals. But most of all.

The deaths.
