In the Argent apartment, Allison lay beside Ellie who was still unconscious now in her bed. Lydia was in the chair beside the bed with Stiles beside her all three watching the brunette closely and worriedly.

Ellie's entire body was now covered with black veins all over her skin with an IV in her arm that Melissa came and put in for her to get some fluids and put some pain medicine in the brunette.

Ellie also now had her stomach bandaged but it needed to be changed every few hours because she was still bleeding black blood.

"I look terrible," Ellie stares wide-eyed making Eli walk towards his mom and hug her tightly not like seeing her like this.

Everyone who knew the boy in the future knew that his mom was his everything and to see her so weak and sick was weird. He didn't like it.

Outside Ellie's room, the three could hear Peter, Chris, and Derek yelling at each other all angry or annoyed.

"Of course, you three are," Allison says rolling her eyes at that.

"What do you mean neither of you know what's wrong with her?!" Derek yells angrily making Chris glare at him and Peter rolls his eyes.

"There are many different possibilities," Peter tells his nephew making Derek turn to him with his arms crossed and a glare on his face.

"How do you even know?" Derek asks him angrily making Peter scoff at that.

"Ellie came and asked if I knew anything. I've been researching with Deaton and Argent since," Peter tells Derek who glares at him.

"Well that is a very unlikely trio," Ellie states wide-eyed.

"Why didn't you tell-?" Derek begin to ask but was interrupted by a scream coming from Ellie's room.

"Dad!" Allison yells in panic and full of worry making the three-run toward Ellie's room.

Chris got in there first and saw Ellie now awake throwing up black blood while Allison held her hair back and Lydia was holding the trash can for her.

Stiles was standing there watching as he bite his fingernail worriedly.  Getting beside Ellie Chris pulls her close to him as Ellie begins crying and soon stops throwing up.

"It hurts. Dad makes it stop please it hurts," Ellie begs as she sobs clutching onto Chris who runs his fingers through her hair with his eyes clutched shut.

Derek pulls Ellie close to him at that never hearing her both so weak and so in pain at that same time.

"I know. I know sweetheart," Chris tells her as he gestures towards the sedatives on the bedside table. Allison hands it to him as Chris begins to inject it into Ellie's IV.

"I got you. I got you," Chris tells her slowly while he holds Ellie close to him who begins to fall back to sleep.

Once asleep Chris gently lays her back down while grabbing the rag on the bedside table and wipes the black blood off her face and running down her nose.

"Whatever is going on it's speeding up," Chris states looking at all the black veins on his daughter's skin.

"I don't look even look like I'll see the day," Ellie stares as she shakes her head worriedly.

Ellie's eyes slowly blink as she begins to wake up. Feeling someone holding her hand Ellie looks to see Derek resting his head on the bed with his hand intertwined with hers.

"Hey handsome," Ellie greets although her voice cracks slightly making Derek look towards her as he immediately sits up.

"Hey baby," Derek whispers back to her as he grabs the water on her bedside table and lets Ellie have a sip of it.

"I missed hearing that," Ellie whispers to him softly making Derek cups her cheek as he begins to look Ellie over.

"What do you need? Your dad went to talk to Deaton. Allison went to go get you some food with Lydia while Stiles had to go his dad called him," Derek tells Ellie who nods leaning into his hand.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you," Ellie whispers out making Derek sigh looking at her.

"Peter told me everything it's alright," Derek tells her making Ellie shake her head slightly.

"Still I should have," Ellie tells him as Derek sighs.

"I wish you did but I know now that's what matters," Derek tells her as Ellie smiles at him.

Ellie looks towards Derek who rubs her cheek and kisses her lips softly making Ellie smile as kisses him back.

"I feel like I'm back at him," Eli says rolling his eyes at the two. 

"Hold me?" Ellie asks hopefully making Derek nod as he gets into the bed and pull Ellie towards him who lays her head on his chest.

"So will you tell me how bad it is?" Ellie asks him as Derek just pauses running his fingers through her hair.

"Derek?" Ellie asks worriedly making Derek just look at her.

"There are black veins all over your body. Your arm reopened up and we will be talking about you stitching your arm up over and over again and trying to burn wolfsbane out. And your stomach is bleeding heavily from where Kali clawed you. An alpha cut is worse and more dangerous," Derek tells her making Ellie pause at that.

Allison just looked toward Ellie who was being squashed by her future husband and son neither wanting to let the girl go. 

"So overall not good at all," Ellie says making Derek shakes his head.

"We're looking for an explanation. We will figure it out," Derek tells her as Ellie nods before looking at Derek.

"Did I ever tell you the moment I realized I was in love with you?" Ellie asks Derek who looks down at her confused.

"What?" Everyone asks confused making Ellie listen closely wanting to know as well.

"What?" Derek asks her as Ellie smiles up at him softly.

"We were in the railroad depot. It was right before you turned everyone. No one was there but Isaac who was watching a movie. I was humming to some song when you just came up behind me and grabbed my hand spinning me around," Ellie says chuckling softly as Derek closes his eyes remembering that.

"It was never let me go," Derek tells her making Ellie look at him.

"The song you were hearing. We had just finished watching The Vampire Diaries and you were ranting about Damon and Elena," Derek tells Ellie who chuckles at him.

"I think that was the moment I fell in love with you. You were eating a piece of chocolate cake your hair in a messy bun yelling at the computer as you explained everything to me. And you just...you just looked perfect. And I knew I could and would listen to you rant for the rest of my life," Derek tells Ellie who smiles at him.

Lydia sniffles at that as she holds Allison closer to her.

"That is so cute," Allison whispers making Lydia nod.

"Can't believe she watched The Vampire Diaries with him," Chris says shaking his head disappointed.

"I love you," Ellie whispers to Derek as her eyes begin to feel heavy from the sedatives in her IV.

"I love you," Derek tells her softly as he rubs her cheek trying to stop the tears in his eyes while looking at the love of his life who was slipping away right in his arms not being able to do anything.

Derek just holds Ellie closer to him at that reminding him that she was here. She was okay.

About an hour later Chris enters the room and begins checking Ellie's bandages and her pulse glaring slightly at Derek for being in his daughter's bed but she looked so peacefully in his arms that he didn't say anything.

Ellie and Allison look surprised at that before shrugging.

"How do you do it?" Derek asks Chris making the older man pause before looking towards Derek with a blank expression.

"You've probably known that one day she was fated to die since she was born," Derek says as Chris nods before looking down at his daughter.

"I remember the first ultrasound. When I was told it was twin girls. My heart stopped," Chris says as he chuckles without humor in it.

"And then when Ellie was born I remember being terrified as I held her. But then she grabbed my pinky and wrapped her entire small hand around it as if saying we got this dad," Chris says chuckling slightly at that.

"I think after that for the next six years I didn't think about it. It was a distant memory I pushed down," Chris says while Derek watches him closely.

"I remember the day perfectly when I realized what was going to happen to her," Chris states as he looks down who just cuddles closer to Derek trying to warm up.

"Victoria left to go get some groceries leaving the girls with me. We lived in Seattle and the girls were drawing on the concrete. Allison asked for something to drink and then Ellie. I went inside to get them. I wasn't even gone for a minute when I heard a horn honking and two terrified screams," Chris says as shakes his head.

Ellie and Allison pause at that remembering that memory slightly.

"Running outside I saw Ellie holding her ankle and Allison with her elbow scratched. A car was speeding through the neighborhood. Ellie saw it and pushed Allison out the way and in the process sprained her ankle," Chris says as he sighs shaking his head.

"Idiots," Stilinski says angrily shaking his head and glaring at the screen.

"Allison was fine so I headed towards Ellie who was crying. But she wasn't crying because of the pain. She was crying because of her exact words: "I was supposed to save her but I hurt her dad" that was the moment I realized that no matter what Ellie would save Allison even if she hurt in the end," Chris says as he looks at Ellie who was sound asleep not knowing anything that was happening.

Allison paused at that remembering that. Ellie was terrified of being near her for a month after that scare she would hurt her again while Allison just felt guilty. The two one day just shared a piece of cake before watching Bratz everything forgotten.

"After that day Ellie became my shadow. I taught her everything I could to make her prepared. And when she was eleven and came home talking about some magic. I couldn't breathe," Chris states as he shakes his head.

"Because I knew right then and there her fate was sealed. No matter what I did or tried to do. She was going to die," Chris says as his emotionless facade breaks and the heartbreak on his face was shown.

"Oh dad," Ellie whispers as she goes towards her dad who holds him tightly making Chris wrap his arms tightly around her.

"And it doesn't get easier as the years go by. The worry just gets worse. Every phone call from an unknown number. Every time she doesn't answer her phone or texts. It's like for a moment I can't breathe. I can't breathe until she is home and I see her alive and breathing," Chris says as he looks down at his daughter heartbroken.

"She's been my shadow since she was a baby. Seventeen years she has never left my side. But one day she will and my shadow will be just a ghost," Chris says as Derek looks at Ellie heartbroken.

Ellie just holds her dad closer to her who had a tear running down his cheek before kissing his daughter's forehead.

"When she told me about her fate. I hated her for a split second I absolutely hated her," Derek tells Chris who looks at Derek but he was staring at Ellie.

"Well thanks," Ellie says rolling her eyes at that.

"I hated her because I loved her. I loved her and was going to lose her all because she wouldn't fight for herself. I knew she wouldn't. I knew she would let herself die for the ones she loves and it was of the things I love and hate about her. Because living without her for a day was the hardest day of my life so I can't even imagine living without her for the rest of my life," Derek says as Chris just looks at him closely.

Ellie just looks at Derek closely who smiles at her softly making Ellie smile back at him.

"You really do love her don't you?" Chris asks making Derek look toward him.

"With everything I have. I would give up everything to see her smile," Derek tells Chris with no hesitation and full of sincerity.

"I still don't like you," Chris tells him making Derek nod.

Ellie chuckles at that making everyone chuckle as Derek and Chris just glare at each other.

"I don't like you either," Derek tells him as the two looks towards Ellie making who groans slightly in her sleep making Derek grab her hand carefully and begin to take some of her pain.

Ellie cuddles closer to him as her heart rate slows back down and she falls back into a deep sleep.
