" Who gave the order to attack " Strucker's voice belted through the room, glaring angrily at his men as they continued to scatter around the base in a hurry. Desperately trying to get onto the field, the snowy mountain was filled with gunshots and explosions between the Avengers and Hydra. The Avengers were slowly closing in as they got deeper into the woods, Hydra was beginning to lose their stand but didn't dare back down. However, Strucker didn't command the assault and it infuriated him that someone had gone ahead and proceeded in the attacks.

" It's The Avengers " a fortress soldier says finally answering the mans demand, This caught the attention of the triplets, Vera's eyes shifted between Strucker and the man, then to Doctor List. Vera creeps from behind Wanda " They landed in the far woods, the perimeter guard panicked ".

" They have to be after the scepter " Strucker mutters to Doctor List " Can we hold them? " he's asked the soldier.

" Their, The Avengers " the soldier says appalled.

" Deploy, the rest of the tanks " Strucker orders.

" Yes, sir " the soldier says dismissing himself.

" Concentrate fire in the weak ones, a hit can make them close ranks. Everything we've accomplished, but we're on the verge of our greatest breakthrough " Strucker ordered.

" Then let's show them, what we've accomplished " Doctor List says " Sent out the triplets ".

" It's too soon " Strucker objects.

" it's what they signed up for " Doctor List argues.

" My men can hold them " Strucker says low and firm, however he knew it wasn't true.

Pietro and Wanda turned away when Strucker glanced over in their direction, and they played it off as if they weren't listening to their conversation. But Vera didn't look away, she and Strucker make eye contact. Strucker shivered and keeps his mouth shut, when he saw Vera piercing blue eyes glaring at him.

" He's not going to let us go " Vera seethes, her glare softened when she looks at her older twins.

" I could make him " Wanda suggests.

Pietro shakes his head " No, we don't need to make him do anything " Pietro says with a knowing look, eyes shifting between Vera and Wanda.

" We will not yield " Strucker shouts with pride, gaining the Soilder's attention " The Americans sent their circus freaks to test us, we will sent them in bags. No surrender ".

" No surrender "

Much to Doctor List's confusion, Strucker says something unexpected " I am going to surrender ".

Once Doctor List and Strucker were distracted, Pietro turns around Motions for Wanda to hop on his back and once she does, he picks Vera up in his arms, Pietro speeds off with both of his sisters leaving no trace behind. They managed to slip away without a trace, however Doctor List checks on the triplets only to see them gone.

"....They may not look too far into what we've been..." Strucker starts to say but go cut off.

" The triplets " Doctor Lists utters wide eyed.

" They're not ready to take on..." Strucker starts but got cut off again.

" No, no. I mean " Doctor List says gesturing to where to the triplets use to be.

Strucker looks where he was gesturing " The triplets " Strucker muttered wide eyed.

Deep in the woods, a man stood tall and broad with his bow and arrows as he runs across the dirty snow, avoiding the gun that was fired at him. Clint launches himself behind the tree and he kicks his feet against the snow, pushing himself back up to his feet, Clint presses his back firmly against the tree.

Clint plucks an arrow from it's hold on his back in one swift movement, connecting with his bow as he aims it towards the tank ahead. Taking a second to breathe, Clint steadies himself before releasing the arrow and watches as it soars through the air. However, the arrow never made it to the tank. Instead, Clint notices a blue blur dart across the field before the arrow could ever make contact with the tank.

Clint ducks behind the tree, he looks around before drawing another arrow, pointing it out at nothing.

Suddenly something dashes across the field and knocks into Clint, sending him flying and he somersaults in the air before crashing harshly to the ground, leaving Clint grunting in pain as he grips his side.

Clint looks up and pauses when he sees Pietro looking down at him with a shake of his head, a mock of disappointment lingers.

" You didn't see that coming " Pietro says smirking mockingly.

Clint scrambles to his feet as he skilfully pulls out another arrow, aiming it at Pietro. But the enchanted was already gone.

Clint lowers his bow, suddenly he hears a noise from behind him, before he felt a burning on his side, Clint collapsed to the ground in a heap of pain.

Natasha jerks her head at the sound of Clint's shouts of agony, the red-haired woman then noticed her best friend on the ground in pain " Clint " Natasha shouts.

Running from the scene, Pietro decides to knock right into Captain American from behind, flipping the man over. However, Steve flipped and landed back on his feet and looks to see nothing a blue streak.

" We have an enchanted on the field " Steve warns through his comms.

Natasha runs in the direction of Clint's injured body and the woman slides on the snow until she is by Clint's Side " Clint's been hit " She announces through her comms. Frantically trying to contain the bleeding, the bunker continued to fire in Natasha and Clint's direction " Someone want to deal with that bunker? " Hulk stomps his way through and easily destroys the bunker " Thank you ".

Steve stormed into an empty part of the base, the hero steps closer to Strucker. Who mocks the fear his eyes as he cowers in his boots before a sly grin breaks into a toothy grin. Steve could tell by the way Strucker stood, how he didn't attempt to run, there was more to this man that he could see. Beunknownst to Steve, Strucker's intentions of surrendering was a part of his plan to prove his innocence, but as the hero knew that men from Hydra weren't innocent.

" Baron Strucker, Hydra's number 1 thug " Steve says.

" Technically, I'm a thug for S.H.I.E.L.D " Strucker retorts, feeling triumphant.

" Well then, you're unemployed " Steve fires back, watching as Strucker's grin slowly falls into a straight line " Where's Loki's scepter? ".

" Don't worry, I know when I'm beat " Strucker says as he notices one of the triplets peeking out from the shadows of the dark room, a smug grin appears on his face " You'll mention, how I cooperated. I hope ".

" I'll put it right under, illegal human experimentation " Steve says not noticing Wanda creeping up behind him as her eyes glowed red " How many are there? ".

Wanda creeps in front of Steve without warning, giving him no time to react before the enchanted jabs her hand forward, blasting a powerful red wisp of energy from her hand at the hero. Steve goes tumbling down the stairs and by the time he gets to his feet, Wanda was already gone.

" We have a second enhanced " Steve warns the team through his comms " Female, do not engage ".

Looking back at Strucker, Steve was starting to dislike the man even more with that stupid grin on his face.

Strucker than starts to mock Steve " You'll have to be faster than than- " but was cut off when Steve kicked his shield up and shoving Strucker back, the man hits the wall aggressively, knocking him unconscious.

" Guys, I got Strucker " Steve announces through his comms.

Hidden further in the shadows, another enhanced with glowing green eyes lingered in the darkness as her twin sister told her stay out of sight before leaving. Even though Wanda and Pietro know their sister can handle herself, they like to baby and protect her because she's the youngest triplet.

Suddenly out of nowhere, Steve throws his shield towards the darkness where Vera was. Vera's hand glew green as she held it in front off the shield stopping it before it hit her, before she grabs it and twirls it in her hand.

Steve stepped forward and briefly stopped and he was unable to see anything in the hallway as it was to dark to see anything, However the man knew someone was lingering in the dark. But they remained hidden from Steve.

" I know you're out there " Steve calls out in a firm yet soft voice.

The shield never returned like it usually does, Steve hadn't heard the clanging of metal hitting cement, but all he heard was silence.

I know, you know, I'm out here " Vera said before stepping out of the darkness in Steve line of view, the hero stiffens at the sight of Vera's glowing green eyes. Steve's eyes flickered over to his shield which is now floating with a green glow above Vera's hand.

Hesitantly, Steve doesn't engage nor does he attempt to move, the hero stands up straight upon realising the auburn-haired woman was the last enchanted.

" You know, I've always wanted to see this thing up close " Vera says raising an eyebrow as she lowers the shield down in front of her, she then looks at Steve " Do you usually throw it? ".

" If it comes to it " Steve says pursing his lips, Vera nods " You don't have to do this, you can still make thing right ".

" Oh, I will, don't worry " Vera says with a tight lipped smile, which slowly turns into a scowl.

" These people, they aren't what you think " Steve attempts again " Strucker.....he's not what you think.....".

" Hydra, you mean " Vera says, Steve coils sealing his lips back together as Vera chuckles " Yeah, I know " suddenly, Vera's eyes flared " Never liked him anyway ".

" We can help you " Steve says as he holds his hand out to Vera, trying to gain her trust.

But Vera glared at him " No " the enhanced hissed before she jerks her hand outward causing the shield to fly across the room in Steve's direction.

Steve dodged the shield, which narrowly missed him. He looks back and stares at the shield that was now inbedded in the wall, Vera uses that distraction to creep back into the darkness.

Pulling the shield out of the wall, Steve examined it as if he expected the enhanced to have done something to his shield. But there was nothing wrong with it, he looks in the direction of the enhanced girl, only to find she wasn't there. He hadn't been able to talk to the woman long enough to discover their motives, But Steve was more concerned about the young woman.

Tucking the shield back on his back " There's a third enhanced, I repeat, there's a third enhanced. Do not engage " Steve warns the team through his comms.

" Thor, I've got my eyes on the prize " Tony announces through his comms, eyes trained on Loki's scepter.

Walking towards the scepter, Tony stares in awe, theories and ideas bubble in his mind. Tony could pat himself on the shoulder, know that they were one step ahead, the scepter was back in good hands-okay maybe not the best hands, but Tony got there first and the ideas were spiraling.

Vera creeps from behind Tony and narrows her eyes at him, the enhanced stepped forward.

Suddenly Vera raises her hand to Tony's temple, green tendrils swirling around her hands, flicking the energy from her fingertips. Vera's energy soaks into Tony's temple, smirking before stepping away from the man. His eyes and temple glow green, manipulating the man within minutes. Tony blinks, taken back by the strange feeling that swarms his head and the man just dismissed it.

But as soon as Tony turned around, the man gasped in horror with the Chitauri Leviathan came back to life, floating overhead. The Leviathan swims in the air and although it wasn't real, it frightened Tony. Then it took the genius a minute to realise that he wasn't in the Hydra base anymore. Tony stared up at the sky, a gapping hole similar to the one he nearly died in and an opening to earth.

At his feet were bodies with familiar faces, scattered about lifeless. It was terrifying to see his friends-his family, witnessing them all scattered across the Rocky Mountain, the life in their eyes dimmed into nothing. Tony gapes in horror at the scene, stumbling when his knees bucked under his weight. No matter how much Tony tried, he couldn't look away from the bodies around him. But his eyes stopped on a familiar shield that was cracked in half, the shield was near a lifeless Steve.

Tony scurries to his friends sides, checking for a pulse. The man jumps in fright when Steve suddenly clutches his wrist, staring wide eyed at the genius, Tony was staring into Steve's defaulted blue eyes.

" You...could've.....saved......us " Steve utters slowly before falling back onto the floor dead, terrifying Tony who was frozen in shock.

in Tony's head, Steve's words say tauntingly " why didn't you save us ".

By the time, the Chitauri's and Leviathan's we're making their way towards earth. Tony then snaps back into reality.

Vera's glowing green eyes cleared back to her original blue coloured eyes, eyes wide in wonder as she stared godsmacked at the vision Tony was having.

Running into the building quietly, Pietro stops behind Vera with Wanda in his arms and lowers her to her feet. Confused when Tony was inches from the scepter but wasn't moving, Wanda glances at Vera who holds her arm out to stop Pietro from engaging. Vera wasn't fazed to see Tony nearly taking the scepter but Pietro and Wanda were just confused as to what their sister made Tony see.

Vera suddenly grins as she feels the fear and desperation oozing from a frantic Tony.

" We're just gonna let them take it? " Pietro asked.

Snapping his hand in the small portion of his suit, Tony snatches the scepter, ogling it.
