A/N ~ Some of y'all out there saying the last chapter was too much whilst requesting for smut. Ironic isn't it🙂

Anyway, that's my little rant for the day, enjoy :)

ϟ ͛ r⃒⃘

"I'm going in first, you stay here," Y/N said in a quiet whisper, when she and Harry reached the entrance of the kitchen.

Harry nodded silently, his face still flushed and his cheeks still rosy.

Y/N gave him a small smile, before pushing the door open to loud chatter in the kitchen.

Hermione was still ranting to Fred and Bill, Mrs Weasley was having a light-hearted conversation with Rolf and Luna, and the others were talking in one big group.

Y/N was glad barely anyone noticed her entrance as she went over and sat in the same seat she sat on before, next to Ginny and Ron.

"Welcome back," Ron said bitterly- his face was dangerously red. "Oh, and how's your tongue, by the way?"

"It's all good now," Y/N said quickly, but she sensed the tone of sarcasm in Ron's voice.

Of course he knew.

"I see, so what took you so long?" Ron asked in a high-pitched voice. "Or rather... who?"

"Oh, I ended up going upstairs to unpack my bag, so it took a little long." Y/N replied, quite proud of how convincing she sounded.

"Wasn't Harry there? He went to get something in his room," said Ginny, frowning slightly.

"Oh, no- I didn't see him," Y/N said, feeling heat rush to her face.

The next moment, the kitchen door opened again and in came Harry. Bright pink in the face.

"Hello, Harry- Happy Birthday." said Remus.

Y/N turned to him and realized she didn't even notice his arrival.

"Thanks, Remus." Harry said quietly, heading pack to his seat.

"You feeling alright, Harry?" Sirius asked with his mouth full of food. "Your face is all red."

"No, I- er... yeah, got a little bit of a cold," said Harry, nodding seriously. "I'll be alright though, I'll just take a bath later."

Blinking in slight confusion, everyone stared at Harry's flushed face for a moment, before continuing with their conversations again.

"Remus... where's Tonks?" Y/N asked slowly, when she noticed Tonks wasn't in the room.

"Oh... um-" Remus cleared his throat. "she won't be coming, I don't think."

"You don't think?" Y/N furrowed her eyebrows, "What do you mean, you don't think? You don't think Tonks will come-?"

"I don't think, Y/N," Remus said frustratedly, not looking at her in the eye.

"Were you not with her?" Y/N continued to ask, frowning at Remus' frantic expression. "What happened? Is she alright? I thought you were working together-?"

"Y/N-"

"No, I want to know!" Y/N said at once, looking at Remus determinedly. "Remus, where is Tonks?"

"She went home," said Remus calmly, still avoiding her eye contact. "and I don't know why, so don't ask me."

Y/N knew he was hiding something. And whatever it was, it wasn't good.

The topic was dropped, and Y/N joined in with Hermione's conversation- giving advice to Ginny and Luna for their OWLs.

They had a nice dinner; Harry blew the cake and unwrapped his presents, and the party went well.

The Quartet was reunited.

The four best friends went to sit at the corner of the living room and talked and laughed for hours, while Ginny and Rolf listened to Luna's stories on the other side of the room.

Y/N and Harry were so distracted, it was as though the events in the bathroom didn't occur at all...

It was almost midnight and everyone had went home- except for Y/N, who was staying at Grimmauld Place for a whole week.

Y/N and Harry had both showered and were in their bedclothes, and were heading back to their bedroom.

"Tonks never misses any dinners, though. Especially parties," Y/N said, as she and Harry walked up to their room, their steps making the staircase creak.

"Maybe she's sick?" Harry suggested.

"Then Remus would've said she was sick," Y/N
said thoughtfully, "do you think I should write a letter to her to ask if she's alright?"

"Yeah, write a letter to her." Harry nodded, relieved that Y/N finally found a solution to her worry.

They reached their bedroom and pushed open the door to a familiar sight.

The room had two beds, ugly floral-patterned furnitures and a nice fireplace.

Y/N let out a heavy sigh and practically leapt onto her bed.

"Nice birthday?" she asked, looking at Harry as he made his way to his own bed.

"Well... you can say that." Harry said, grinning at her knowingly. He leapt onto his bed the way Y/N did and closed his eyes.

Y/N blushed in embarrassment and slight guilt as she realized what he was grinning about.

"Niff?" Harry said, taking a deep breath.

"Harry?"

"Today was odd." Harry said quietly. "Sorry I shouted at you, earlier... I was- I was panicking when you started to raise your voice."

"Oh, that- that wasn't your fault," Y/N said quickly. "I was being a bit of an arse. Dunno what got into me."

"Not that I was afraid Sirius might've heard us," Harry admitted. "I just didn't want us to bicker... but I guess my shouting made it worse."

"It did," Y/N said quietly. "but so did mine."

"Are you still mad at me?"

"I wasn't- mad at you, Harry." Y/N said with a sigh. "I just- I guess living with Remus for the past month made me more aware of how protective he was. And I just snapped when you suddenly grabbed me-"

"I know, that part's my bad," said Harry, turning to his side so he was facing her. "Hey... I know that guilty face of yours- it's alright, Niff. I know it was your exitiumagus powers."

"What- what do you mean?"

"Remember what Tonks said, last year?" Harry asked, but Y/N shook her head. "She said when a Gifted witch's powers are strengthening, it's likely they'd get more frustrated or more emotional."

"What?" Y/N exclaimed. "I thought I already went through that in third year!" she groaned into her pillow.

"Maybe your powers are growing even stronger?"

"Maybe..." Y/N said thoughtfully, slowly nodding. "I really, really, hope this isn't something to do with Voldemort."

"Hey, don't worry about it," Harry said firmly. "Is... is being sixteen too old to ask you to come sleep with me?"

Y/N broke into a smile and shook her head, kicking off her blanket.

She walked over to Harry's bed on the other side of the room as he made some space for her.

Y/N climbed onto the bed and rolled into Harry's arms.

"I miss this." She said, hugging his waist and resting her head on his chest.

"I miss you." said Harry, kissing her forehead, before resting his chin on the top of her head.

But Y/N's mind was elsewhere.

She thought back about the events that happened in the bathroom earlier that evening.

Her brows became more and more knitted every second as she recalled the scene.

"Niff... did you doze off over there?" Harry asked.

"Oh Merlin, I'm so sorry..."

"What? What for?" Harry questioned.

"You know what for." Y/N said bitterly, shaking her head and closing her eyes.

"Y/N, your powers-"

"Even if it was because of my exitiumagus growth, I was overreacting about everything- and, for Merlin's sake, it's your birthday." Y/N shook her head once again, "I'm sorry..."

"Y/N, you did nothing wrong," Harry laughed, quite amused by her overly guilty tone. "Besides- apart from the shouting, I would have to say... I enjoyed it. It was quite bizarre, but it was... nice."

Y/N felt heat rush to her face and was glad Harry didn't notice her embarrassment in the dark.

"I- I guess it was... nice," she said quietly.

The pink gem on her bracelet was glowing subtlety again, and so was Harry's mood ring.

"You're tired aren't you?" Harry asked, smiling softly at her.

"Why d'you think that?"

"You're not talking as much as usual."

"Are you saying I talk too much, Harold Potter?" Y/N scoffed.

"I'm saying you should get some rest... sleep." said Harry, nudging her head with his nose. "I'm not taking no as an answer... now- which song would you like today, Scamander?"

"Ah, Harry the Hummingbird is back," Y/N said, grinning at him playfully. Harry made a face.

"Out of all the names, you choose Harry the Hummingb-"

"You're Harry and you hum. It fits, I like it." Y/N said. "At least I'm not calling you a rock like you do with me-"

"-Pebble. Y/N the Pebble." Harry corrected her.

"Either way, it's Harry the Hummingbird." Y/N said firmly.

"Fine," Harry said, rolling his eyes. "Name a song, Y/N the Pebble."

"Hmm... you know that one muggle song that always plays on the radio in the morning?" Y/N asked. "Specifically at half past ten?"

"There are lots of songs that play in the morning, Niff." Harry laughed.

"The one by that band called Queen?" Y/N said, thinking hard. "It's the one about the- the lover boy."

"Oh- of course I do," Harry said eagerly. "'Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy'- how'd you know that was mine and Sirius' favourite song?"

"Really," Y/N grinned, looking up at Harry.

The light from outside the window reflected his emerald eyes. The way he smiled softly was a sight Y/N can look at practically forever.

"What're you smiling about?" Harry asked with a small grin, sliding a finger under Y/N's chin and tilting her head up.

Y/N was already gazing at his green eyes and she immediately blushed when she realized she had a very wide stupid grin on her face.

When she noticed Harry smirking at her, she quickly broke eye contact and turned away, resting her cheek on his chest once again.

"Nothing." she said quietly.

Harry chuckled at her embarrassment and gave her a little squeeze.

"So, 'Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy' is your song for the night?" He grinned. Y/N nodded eagerly.

"I love you," she said, truly meaning it, before breaking into a grin. "not."

"I love you too." Harry whispered, planting a kiss on her temple. "night, Niff."

"Night, Harry."

Y/N lightly closed her eyes, as Harry started to hum a very slow version of 'Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy' quietly.

He stroked her hair with his thumb dreamily, and by the time he reached the middle of the song, Y/N had already dozed off in his arms.

ϟ ͛ r⃒⃘

"Did you sleep well last night, Y/N?" Sirius asked, passing her the ketchup.

"Very well, thanks," Y/N beamed, piling some ketchup onto her plate. "Honestly, this house has some good potential- maybe I can help you clean and decorate it some time."

"Oh, don't worry about that," Sirius waved his hand. "You'll be here for only a week, I don't want you to tire yourself cleaning it."

"We can play chess after breakfast if you like," Harry suggested enthusiastically, "I've gotten pretty good, myself."

"All thanks to your godfather, of course," Sirius grinned, ruffling Harry's hair, "neither James or Lily could beat me in wizard's chess,"

"And we can play Quidditch after," Harry added, then catching Y/N's eye. "You'll be trying out for the team this year, aren't you?"

"Oh... um- no, I don't think so." Y/N shook her head quickly. Harry and Sirius broke into complains and groans. "With you back in the team, you won't be needing me as Seeker anymore."

"Well, Angelina and Alicia graduated last year and we need chasers." Harry said, grabbing onto Y/N's arm as if she was going to escape.

"I can't chase, I can't even hold a mixing bowl without dropping it-" Y/N paused when Harry and Sirius raised their eyebrows. "Don't... don't tell Remus that, I'm not that horrible-"

"Either way, you're playing Quidditch with us." Sirius said, as he and Harry swapped mischievous grins.

"But I can't- Remus doesn't let me go outdoors," Y/N said defensively.

"Ah, but I'm not Remus," Sirius grinned. "I'm the cool godfather here,"

"If you say so, Scooby-Doo," Y/N said stubbornly, crossing her arms. "But this is me declining the offer. I've promised myself not to ride a single broomstick this year."

"Is that so?" Harry raised his eyebrows slightly. Y/N felt her face go hot.

"Yes, Harry, it is so." she said, giving Harry a scolding look, as Sirius looked between them questioningly.

"You can't stay in here for the rest of the week,"  Harry taunted, crossing his arms to mirror her actions. "Get outside and touch some grass."

"Fine, I'm going outside," Y/N said grimly. "I'll touch grass, if you like- but I'm not playing. I'll simply just watch-"

"Harry go grab your broom and two of mine from the cupboard," Sirius said, ignoring Y/N. "Get Y/N the good Cleansweep one."

"No, Harry, just bring two-!"

"-Yes sir, three brooms it is." Harry stood up and pushed in his chair, sharing an identical look with Sirius.

"You both are unbelievable, you know that?" Y/N huffed, scowling at the both of them.

Sirius sniggered. Harry stopped behind Y/N just before exiting and put a hand on her shoulder, leaning forwards.

"Oh, Y/N- we do." He whispered.

Y/N whirled around to face him, just as he let out a snigger and turned on his heel, heading out the door.

She couldn't help but break into a grin.

"You know, the more I see him around you, the more I see the James in him," Sirius smirked, his arms and legs crossed. "Definitely got his father's charm."

Y/N stared after Harry, shaking her head and grinning stupidly.

"You know," Sirius smiled softly. "Lily would have loved you."

That afternoon, the three of them headed out to a quiet hill just half a mile from Grimmauld Place and played one-on-one Quidditch.

Two Chasers, one Keeper and one goal hoop.

Turns out, as Y/N had told Harry and Sirius, she wasn't a good Chaser.

She missed most of her shots and she'd drop the Quaffle whenever something minor startled her.

She didn't win a single round against Harry or Sirius, who were both average Chasers. And she was only decently good at goal-keeping.

Trying out for Chaser was completely crossed off her mind.

"And I thought you were just being modest," Sirius said thoughtfully, as the three walked home at sunset that day.

"Don't be mean, Padfoot," Harry scolded Sirius, but he was also smirking.

"Well, there it is- proof- I'm not trying out this year," Y/N muttered stubbornly, swirling the Cleansweep broom over her shoulder.

"Hey, but you're a great Keeper and an unbelievable Seeker," Harry tried to cheer her up. "I'm not kidding, Niff, you've beaten Rolf and Cho and they've been training for years."

"Thanks, Harry, but I'm not changing my mind." Y/N said, giving him a weak smile. "I don't even like playing."

Though she's always been saying that, she never really meant it... not completely, at least.

Perhaps she was afraid she'd appear dumb if she was eager about the sport and sucked. So to prevent that embarrassment, she pretended she hated it.

The week at Grimmauld Place flew by really quickly.

Everyday was the same routine, and Y/N really didn't complain.

She'd be woken up by an eager Harry everyday because he was always hungry in the morning and refused to eat without her.

Then, they'd play chess while screaming out to the songs that played on the muggle radio, earning dirty looks from Kreacher.

Lunch was always talkative and Y/N had learned about her and Harry's parents a lot more from Sirius.

In the afternoon, they'd go to the same quiet hill at the back of the village and play Quidditch- Y/N insisted to play Keeper only.

Then, they'd go back home to shower and Y/N would help Kreacher cook.

Kreacher didn't like her much- cursing at her under his breath every time she tried to start a conversation with him.

And then they'd eat, laughing all evening together as they chatted.

Then, Y/N and Harry had to leave the kitchen at eight, for the Order had to have their daily meeting.

Harry watched humorously as Y/N greeted Snape with 'good day, Professor Snape!' every time they left the kitchen, leaving pure terror on Snape's face.

They would break into laughter once they were in the hallway, and Mrs Black's painting would start screaming.

Y/N and Harry would go back to their room to play more board games or scream out more songs (sometimes disturbing the Order), or they'd just cuddle up in bed and talk.

One thing that surprised Y/N was that Sirius was protective... but he wasn't the same protective as Remus.

He would get furious when Kreacher talked bad to Y/N and get extremely concerned if she fell down a couple steps or burnt her hand in the oven.

However, he merely minded the Ministry rules and took them out to play Quidditch every day out in the open.

He also didn't mind Harry kissing Y/N in front of him.

They were playing Quidditch one day and Y/N had saved a goal quite smoothly. Harry punched the air and cheered for her excitedly, before swooping down and pecking her on the lips.

Sirius just raised his eyebrows and pretended he didn't see a thing.

Though, Y/N completely lost it the second time it happened.

They were snogging in the living room just very briefly while they were 'doing homework'.

Sirius passed by and flashed Y/N a wink from over Harry's shoulder, which made her pull away from Harry immediately.

That's when she learned she'd rather have Sirius be mad about it rather than be a Ginny about it.

ϟ ͛ r⃒⃘

It was August 11th and Y/N and Harry were traveling to The Burrow to stay there for the rest of their summer holiday.

Dumbledore was going to come to Grimmauld Place to pick Harry up that evening to go to Privet Drive for 'family business', before dropping him off at Ron's.

Y/N had to go back to Lupin Cottage to pack her trunk for Hogwarts, since they were going to stay at The Burrow until September the 1st.

She said a brief good bye and thank you to Harry and Sirius that afternoon, before stepping into the fireplace in their living room and appearing in hers, seconds after.

"Remus, are you home?" Was the first thing she said, as she dusted her shoulder and stepped into her cozy home.

She made her way through the house with her bag over her shoulder, but no one was in sight so far.

However, when she managed to walk up half of the wooden staircase, she came to a halt as she bumped right into someone.

That someone being Tonks.

"Tonks?"

Y/N barely recognized her.

Tonks' hair was icy blue and her usual bubbly expression was gone... replaced with an expression similar to Moaning Myrtle's.

"Wotcher, Y/N- I'm sorry to intrude, I just came to get something I forgot," Tonks said very quickly, trying to walk past Y/N.

"Intrude-? Tonks, our home is your home," Y/N exclaimed, grabbing Tonks' arms to stop her. "Tonks, what's wrong?" She added in a gentle voice, as she got a good look of her.

"Nothing. Nothing's wrong." Tonks said firmly, shaking her head- but Y/N was sure she looked as if she wanted to tell her something. "Did you have a good time-?"

"I haven't heard from you in a week," Y/N said worriedly. "There's definitely something wrong."

"I'm just a little ill," Tonks said, not meeting her eye. "all the death eater attacks are just making me anxious."

"Hey, you don't have to tell me everything right now," Y/N said patiently. "but please, Tonks- you're my family and I need to make sure you're OK-"

"Yeah, I'm OK," Tonks said cooly, which took Y/N by extreme surprise. "Sorry again for intruding, I have to go now."

Tonks finally pushed passed her.

"Tonks-" Y/N looked back. "do you want me to tell Remus anything?"

"No, that won't be necessary." Tonks said quickly, giving Y/N a weak smile and started to walk again- but she stopped at the last step and looked back up. "Y/N?"

"I'm still here." Y/N said grimly, who was still staring after her in confusion.

"Tell Remus-" Tonks hesitated- like she was thinking hard. "tell him... have a nice life."

Before Y/N was going to ask whatever the hell she meant, Tonks turned around and hurried away from sight.

ϟ ͛ r⃒⃘

Y/N truly loved The Burrow.

Everything about it was heart-warming. The scent, the garden, the view, the house itself and the people.

Her people. The Weasleys.

She grinned up at the tall structure of the house, before heading to the door and pushing it open, stepping into the living room.

She heard the familiar faint chatter from the kitchen and her smile grew wider as she made her was to the room.

And she was taken by absolute surprise when an ethereal voice with a slight French accent rang,

"Miss Balcony! You're here!"

"Fleur?" Y/N let out a delighted exclaim as a beautiful young woman with long blonde silky hair and bright blue eyes welcomed her at the entrance of the kitchen.

Y/N was smiling from ear to ear as Fleur Delacour rushed forwards and brought her into a long embrace.

All the Weasleys (except Mr Weasley, Percy, Charlie and the twins) and Hermione were sitting around the dining table.

They all chorused a cheerful 'hello Y/N!' to her, but their voices were all drowned out by Fleur's.

"Oh, how I've missed you!" Fleur exclaimed, kissing Y/N on the cheek. "You are even more beautiful than the last time I saw you! I didn't know that was possible."

"Coming from you, I truly don't know what to say," Y/N scoffed, grinning, "I've missed you so much, Fleur!"

"Oh, I've missed you too! Here, let me take this-" Fleur seemed ecstatic, as she took Y/N's bag from her hand and placed it on a bench nearby.

"Thanks," Y/N grinned. "I have to ask though- how have you been? And what are you doing here?"

"Well, wait till you hear-" Fleur giggled angelically. "Bill and I are getting married next year!"

"What-? Oh Merlin, congratulations!" Y/N turned and beamed at the handsome long-haired Bill and then back at Fleur, "Well, this was unexpected!"

"Trust me dear, you're not the only one who thinks that." Mrs Weasley muttered grimly.

From her tone and the way Fleur's smile dropped, Y/N could tell Mrs Weasley didn't really like Fleur much.

Y/N looked up at Mrs Weasley and smiled.

"Well, it's great news!" She said cheerfully, before turning back to give Fleur a comforting smile. "And you guys are perfect for each other."

Fleur mouthed her a 'thank you', before gesturing for her to sit down at the dining table.

"Make yourself comfortable, dear Y/N," Mrs Weasley beamed, "we thought you were going to arrive later at night- where's Harry?"

"Oh, Harry'll be here any moment, he's with Dumbledore." Y/N said, grinning everyone as she sat down. "Hey- Ron, Hermione, Mr Weasley, Ginny, Bill."

"Had a good time at Grimmauld Place, Y/N?" Ginny asked with a smirk, "I'm sure Harry-"

"Yeah, Sirius was very welcoming," Y/N said quickly, throwing Ginny a 'not in front of your parents' look.

"Is Rolf going to be here?" Ron asked, ignoring Ginny's comment.

"Nah, he's at home." Y/N replied, "wouldn't miss a chance to spend his summer with Luna... Hermione, how's your patience tolerance?"

No one had to ask Y/N to understand what she was talking about.

"Horribly," Ron replied. "She woke me up at five in the morning yesterday because she heard owl noises."

"Cant blame you, though, Hermione," said Mrs Weasley, clicking her tongue. "It's been, what, a month and a half? They ought to hurry up."

"See, Mrs Weasley agrees with me," Hermione said triumphantly, swapping grins with Ron's mum.

"Y/N, how are you and Harry doing?" Fleur asked Y/N, cocking her eyebrows as she piled some food onto Bill's plate.

Y/N felt blood rush to her face.

"Well, um- he's doing fine, typical awkward-but-sassy Harry."

"Still boyfriend and girlfriend?" Fleur giggled.

"I already told you, Fleur, they are together," said Bill, chuckling slightly and putting a hand on her lap.

"Yes, but I want to hear her say it." Said Fleur, grinning cheekily at her fiancé.

"Y/N just arrived, and she shouldn't be asked questions she doesn't want to answer." Mrs Weasley said swiftly.

"Mum, let's be cool now," said Bill sternly.

"Yeah, it's fine, I don't mind!" Y/N remained her enthusiastic voice, for she hated seeing Fleur being put down. "And yeah- um- we've been going out for... a year?"

Fleur squealed excitedly and went on about how she knew from the start that Y/N and Harry were meant for each other.

Y/N just realized how much she missed Fleur, and how ego-boosting the girl could be.

She threw compliments around the table every now and then and brought up the most interesting conversation starters.

After dinner, Y/N said good night to Fleur and the rest of the Weasleys and went up to Ginny's room along with Ginny and Hermione.

She smiled to herself as she stepped into Ginny's tiny but cozy bedroom. It brought her back to the summer of fourth year.

She refused to have Ginny sleep on the mattress on the floor and insisted she did instead.

"It's your house, Gin, I will not have you sleep on the floor." Y/N said firmly, throwing her bag onto the mattress to reserve it.

As always, that night, the three of them showered and waited for everyone to go to sleep.

When they were sure everyone except for Mrs Weasley (who was waiting for Harry) was asleep, they stayed up and talked in quiet whispers, legs crossed on one bed.

"So... ready to hear my speech about how Ronald Weasley is absolutely in love with our Hermione Granger?" Y/N cleared her throat.

"Excuse me?" Hermione sounded offended, as she slapped Y/N on the arm. "You're being childish."

"Then I shall stay childish forever," Y/N said dramatically. "It's quite irritating to see the both of you so in denial. Ginny, do you agree with me?"

"Even a blind troll would," Ginny scoffed, smirking at Hermione.

"See, Ginny says even Rolf would agree!" Y/N said triumphantly. Ginny snorted and Hermione rolled her eyes.

"This is boring, you bring this up every year," Hermione huffed, crossing her arms. "And I can't bug you about Harry anymore, because you're actually together now."

"Hey, who says we can't bug her about it anymore?" Ginny slowly grinned.

Hermione turned to the redhead and an identical evil grin appeared on her face. The both of them slowly turned back to Y/N.

"You're being creepy." Y/N muttered sourly, staring back at the two. "And Hermione's right. You can't bug me about it anymore."

"Do I look dumb to you?" Ginny sneered. "I know, for a fact, on Harry's birthday, you didn't bite your tongue... and he didn't go up to his room to get anything."

"You're trying to nag me, but it's not working." Y/N said cooly, narrowing her eyes. "Hey, let's talk about-"

"How do you explain the messy hair?" Ginny smirked, crossing her arms. Hermione clapped a hand over mouth and sniggered.

"Please," Y/N scoffed. "when is Harry's hair not messy-?"

"The red face?"

"He had a cold-"

"How often is it for someone to catch a cold during summer?" Ginny smirked.

"Well, it happens-"

"What about the fact that Harry told Ron all about it in a howler that announced the whole snogging scene to our breakfast table?"

"That was just- wait... WHAT?"

"Shh!" Ginny and Hermione hissed, putting a finger on their lips, but they were both giggling uncontrollably.

"When was that?" Y/N asked in panic, but in a whisper this time. "Did your mum hear? Did anyone in your family hear, Ginny? Ginny, answer me-!"

"I lied!" Ginny laughed, gripping her stomach as she and Hermione laughed silently. "There was no howler! But HA! Caught red-handed, Y/N Scamander!"

Y/N glared at the both of them and hit Ginny's lap with a pillow.

"Don't even get me started with Cormac McLaggen's weird obsession with you," she huffed, trying to change the subject... and it seemed to have worked.

"McLaggen is obsessed everyone and anyone," Ginny said, still trailing with laughter. "Plus, he's absolutely not my type."

"What is your type?" Hermione asked Ginny curiously.

"Well, I'd like a partner that doesn't chase me around like McLaggen does." Ginny said, grinning. "Or more like- someone that acts like they don't care, but they do."

"Well, Harry's out, for one," Hermione said, glancing at Y/N. "He's very bad at hiding his care for Y/N."

"I think Harry's perfect for Y/N, though," Ginny said in a curious tone. "the two of you just fall together perfectly."

"Look at you, being all wise," Y/N said teasingly.

"Oh, and Harry does try to act like he doesn't care, by the way." Ginny said matter-of-factly. "He just gives up easily."

"What about you, Ginny- fancy anyone lately?" Hermione smirked, nudging Ginny's shoulder.

"Not at the moment."

"Oh, you've got to have one-!"

"Oh well, I don't." said Ginny with her nose in the air. "Trust me, I'll know it when I find my pebble."

"Pebble?" Hermione asked, puzzled. "Why pebble-?"

"Don't ask." Y/N said firmly.

"That's not fair, you're not letting me into this- inside joke!" Hermione complained.

"Hey, I'll let you into this-" Y/N said in slow whisper. "You. Fancy. Ron."

"Barbaric!" Hermione hissed.

"Hey, I know my brother's not so lovable," Ginny sighed. "but you fell for him anyway."

"Fell-?"

"Ginny," Y/N cut Hermione off. "don't you find it funny how Hermy doesn't even realize that she'd already found her pebble?"

"What do you mean my peb-?"

"-the pebble being none other than her ginger best friend." Ginny sang. "Her pebble-"

"Can someone please explain to me what a pebble is!" Hermione exclaimed.

There was a moment of silence and Y/N and Ginny looked at each other for a few seconds, before burst into a fit of wheezing laughter.

Hermione waited for their laughter to die down, then continued,

"Whatever it means," she huffed, "I do not fancy Ron."

"I know," Ginny sighed, patting Hermione's shoulder. "I know you're in denial."

"You just doubt he likes you back." Y/N put a hand on her other shoulder. "Which he does, mind you. Trust me, I doubted Harry, too,"

"Yet, the universe still brought you two together in the end." Ginny sighed. "Sorry to break it to you, Mione, but there's really no escape..."
