Lupin Cottage stood by the countryside, in the middle of a large grass field, at the far back of Ottery St Catchpole, hidden by magic.

It had two stories, and was quite large for one man to live in. With three bedrooms, three bathrooms, one large living room and a cozy kitchen, Y/N Scamander found herself settling into the place just fine.

Her bedroom was slightly smaller than the one back at the Scamander's house, but she got the chance to decorate it as her own, with a little help from her godfather's magic.

The beginning of summer went by smoothly. Y/N busied herself with (favourite hobby), and writing letters to Harry back and forth every single day.

Ron and Hermione had been sending suspiciously short letters- not letters, notes. But Y/N was smart enough to know that they had a reason behind it- unlike Harry, who was strongly upset about it.

Rolf, Y/N's older Hufflepuff brother, who was now taller than anyone in the house, was not over his friend Cedric Diggory's death just yet- he would cry himself to sleep on nights where Remus was busy at work, and would have horrible nightmares... but his family and his best friend never failed to lighten his mood, every other day.

Remus allowed Rolf to go to Luna Lovegood's house every few days, since the Lovegoods lived close by, and he knew the girl was what Rolf needed most, at that time.

The Weasleys weren't home, and Harry and Hermione were living with muggles, so Y/N had no choice but to stay at Lupin Cottage, all day, every day.

Which she really didn't complain about.

Remus was barely home on week days, but he would spend as much time as possible with his godchildren after work and on the weekends. Luckily, There wasn't a single full moon yet, since their arrival at Remus' home.

Quite to Y/N's surprise, Remus Lupin had a passion for cooking, especially baking, just like her father did.

When the Scamanders first arrived at his home, Remus' welcoming present for them was two handmade aprons.

And so, cooking and baking was what they did together, almost every day during the first three weeks of summer- just Y/N, Rolf and Remus, in their little kitchen...

"Y/N, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Remus exclaimed. Y/N dropped the measuring cup in her hand into the mixing bowl with a jump.

"I'M SORRY!" Y/N panicked, not knowing what she did wrong.

Remus sighed loudly, taking the mixing bowl from her and examining what she had put into their cookie badder.

"Y/N that was salt, not sugar." He said grimly. "You just put a cup of salt into our chocolate-chip cookies."

Rolf burst into a snort of laughter.

"Oh Godric, I'm so sorry." Y/N groaned, as Rolf peeked into the mixing bowl that was now piled with salt, and wheezed even harder. "I can't tell the difference between salt and sugar, alright?"

"Y-yeah, me either!" Rolf exclaimed, letting out a fit of tight laughs. "Although- they do taste a little different, don't you think?"

"Shove off." Y/N muttered, looking at Remus for help. "Is there a way we can fix it? Can we still fix it? Do you- why are you two laughing?"

Y/N threw a questioning look at the laughing Rolf and Remus, who were now holding onto the table to steady themselves, tears of laughter forming in their eyes.

"Moony, Rolfie, help me out, here." Y/N said flatly. Her godfather and brother didn't seem like they heard her. "Hey! Is Tonks going to get her cookies, or not?" Y/N asked them harshly.

"Oh, Y/N-" Remus chuckled breathlessly. "don't be- don't be so salty!- HAHAHAHA"

Rolf howled with laughter, thumping Remus' back, as the man let out a big typical dad laugh and thumped the table hysterically.

Y/N glared between the two warningly.

When both Rolf and Remus continued to laugh and point at the mixing bowl, Y/N crossed her arms and dangerously, making both wizards shut up immediately.

"Alright," Y/N sighed, turning to her godfather, who still had a cheeky grin on his face. "Can you please use magic to fix it or something-?"

"No!" Remus exclaimed, hiding his wand behind his back childishly. "How many times do I have to tell you lot, no using magic in the kitchen-"

"-unless you catch your buttocks on fire." Y/N and Rolf recited, trying not to roll their eyes. It was Remus' only rule in the house.

"Exactly." Remus said cooly, shoving his wand back inside his green apron. "We'll just make a new batch, I have a lot of ingredients left."

"Or we could bake salty cookies for Tonks," Rolf grinned mischievously.

"We already cooked sweet stew for her as a joke, last time" Y/N said, throwing Remus a knowing look. "let's try to earn her trust, instead of building on her trust issues."

"I guess your right," Remus sighed with a smile. But when Y/N nodded and turned away, the werewolf lowered his voice and whispered to Rolf mischievously, "don't throw away the salty batch."

ϟ ͛ r⃒⃘

"Y/N!"

"Yeah?"

Silence...

"Um- YEAH?"

Another beat of silence.

"YES, MOONY?" Y/N bellowed tiredly.

When Remus didn't answer, she groaned in annoyance and put down her quill, before walking out of her bedroom and down the stairs, to the living room.

Sitting on the sofa, was Tonks, who's hair was now straight and brown, and Remus, who was playing Wizard's Chess with her, while Rolf watched them closely, hugging a pillow to his chest in suspense.

"Oh, hey Tonks," Y/N beamed at the metamorphmagus, as she entered the room. "Like your hair, today."

"Wotcher." Tonks muttered back, not taking her eyes off her game. She watched as Remus ordered his chess piece to move.

"Moony, you wanted me?" Y/N asked her godfather weakly.

"Just a second, kiddo..." Lupin muttered, ordering his knight to move on the chessboard.

"Ahem, I thought we agreed you'd stop calling me kiddo?" Y/N blinked around the three, but none of them took their eyes off the chessboard. She scoffed and went around the sofa to sit on the empty spot behind Rolf. "You know, I'm starting to think-"

"CHECKMATE!" Lupin bellowed, clapping his hands loudly. Rolf whistled and applauded for him, as Tonks' hair turned bright red. "I win! I win! I win-!"

"Only once," Tonks muttered, shaking her hair back to brown. "I won the round before with Rolf, and I defeated you the day before-"

"I'm sorry, but I didn't just leave my letter-writing just to watch you all play chess." Y/N said grimly.

"Right, right- sorry, Y/N." Lupin cleared his throat, his face still plastered with a triumphant smile. "So, er- why did I call you down here again?"

"Remus!" Y/N exclaimed and mentally face palmed. Remus' face turned slightly red.

"You called her here to talk about her power," Tonks reminded him, with smile and a nudge on the arm.

"Oh, yes- right-" Lupin nodded. "Y/N, Nymphadora has some inf-"

"It's Tonks." Tonks said quickly.

"You know, I personally still think Nymphadora's beautiful name-"

"Tonks. My name is Tonks." Said the brown-haired witch stubbornly. Y/N and Rolf looked between the two adults in amusement.

"Alright, Tonks," Remus grinned. "so Tonks, here, has some information about your ability to turn things into dust, and she says she wants to talk to you about it."

"Oh, alright," Y/N raised her eyebrows slightly. Tonks turned to Rolf and Remus.

"It won't be interesting, so you two could leave." She said to the two wizards.

"She's my goddaughter," Remus frowned. "I want to know whatever you have to tell, as much as she does."

"And I'm her neighbor's friend's teacher's second cousin, so I have the right to know, too." Rolf said with a smile.

Tonks rolled her eyes and muttered a 'fine', before turning back to Y/N.

"So, I wanna know, Y/N," the witch started. "Since when did your powers start showing?"

"I'm not sure..." Y/N frowned thoughtfully. "It started when I was really young- I think the first time it really started showing was when I exploded Rolf's toy broomstick when I was, like, five."

"My grudge continues till this day." Rolf said, crossing his arms. Remus chuckled.

"And when did it start to become a regular thing?" Tonks asked, ignoring the boys.

"Well- it stopped for a while, then came back again, during third year," Y/N said, grinning at the memory of her exploding Snape's cauldron into dust. "Kinda gave Snape a scare."

"Alright," Tonks grinned in satisfaction. "Tell me, Y/N. During your third year, were you slightly more... moody, or- grumpier than usual?"

"Huh... yes, actually." Y/N nodded slowly, remembering her annoying attitude from over a year ago. "I was more snappy than usual and got upset really easily."

"I can confirm that." Rolf added. Y/N threw him a fierce glare.

"Rolf, don't push it," Tonks said sternly, before turning back to Y/N eagerly. "Have you ever felt like you could control your power? Like using it, without having to be mad or angry?"

"Uh... yes, once." Y/N said nervously, thinking of the second task, where she distracted Harry's dragon by exploding a rock. "I did it to help someone, though. I didn't mean to do it- but I don't regret it either."

"Whatever reason, I think I know what you are," Tonks smiled, crossing her arms. "Being born with an unusual ability, experiencing mood swings when the ability starts to strengthen- you, Y/N, are like me-"

"She's a meta-mac-n'-cheese?" Rolf exclaimed dramatically. Remus snorted, but immediately fell silent when Tonks eyed him sourly.

"She's a Gifted witch." Tonks corrected. "I'm a gifted metamorphmagus, specifically, meaning I have the ability to change my appearance- there are quite a few witches and wizards like me around the world. There's a specific name for each kind of power you have."

"Then what kind am I?" Y/N asked, getting more invested in the topic.

"I dunno, exactly," Tonks shrugged. "There are many, but I can easily check through the records of the Gifted witches and wizards at the Department of Records... the ability to turn things into dust... sounds quite familiar, honestly."

"So there are more people like me, around the world?" Y/N asked with raised eyebrows.

"Very possibly," Tonks nodded, giving Y/N a warm smile.

"And I could learn to control my power?" Y/N asked hopefully, never really thinking of it that way.

"Oh, of course." Tonks beamed. "I learned how to control mine when I was thirteen- but I still change my appearance without realizing it, sometimes."

"Dang, I'm so lame." Rolf said bitterly, looking between the two Gifted witches in envy. "Can I become Gifted?"

"No, silly," Tonks chuckled, messing up Rolf's brown hair. " that's the point of being Gifted- you're born with it."

"Blah, blah, quirky, quirky," Rolf rolled his eyes. "I got seven Outstandings for my O.W.L.s, how's that?"

"Quite impressive actually." Tonks said, raising her eyebrows in slight surprise. "Good job, Rolfard."

"My name is not Rolfard." Rolf growled, as Tonks patted his head.

"Y/N calls you Rolfard." Tonks shrugged, side-eying Y/N.

"She also happens to call Harry Harold," Rolf muttered in annoyance. "and Ron Ronald, and Hermione Hermy- so... don't believe everything this little creature tells you. She can't joke."

"Well, at least I can bake, unlike someone around here." Y/N said stiffly.

"You? Bake?" Rolf scoffed, laughing slightly. "Who dropped the cup of salt into the cookie badder yesterday-?"

"You try telling the difference between salt and sugar-!"

"I very much can!"

"Oh, no you cannot!"

"Quiz me, then! Bring the salt and sugar!"

"Oh, don't waste your time!"

"Aren't you going to stop your children, Remus?" Tonks asked grimly, as the Scamander siblings continued to argue with each other.

"Well, I've had Sirius and James as my friends," Remus shrugged. "They'll only stop bickering if you let them solve the problem by themselves. You only come in when they start to get physical."

"Ouch! You git!" Rolf rubbed his arm in pain. Y/N had thrown him a punch. "Take- that!" Rolf went forwards and pushed Y/N off the sofa. She yelped and fell to the floor violently.

"You're a dead man, Rolfard!" Y/N growled, standing up from the floor. Remus and Tonks quickly stood up and grab her arms, as Rolf screamed and ran away, up the stairs.

"Th-this doesn't happen often," Remus said to Tonks with a weak smile. Tonks glared at him, before forcing Y/N back on the sofa.

"Calm, Y/N, calm..." Tonks said, patting the girl on the shoulder.

"He said Moony liked his scones better than mine!" Y/N shouted heatedly, glaring at the stairs.

"If it makes you feel any better, I can confidently say that that is false information." Remus said seriously. Y/N stopped struggling from Tonks' grip and smiled at her godfather.

"You mean it?" She asked.

"Yeah, your scones are the best, Y/N." Remus said with a kind smile.

"I know, right?" Y/N beamed happily. "HEAR THAT, ROLF?" She shouted loudly up the stairs.

"I was just kidding, for Helga's sake," Rolf said bitterly, slowly walking back down the stairs. "Everyone knows you're best at baking scones. Happy, now?"

"I guess your forgiven," Y/N muttered with her nose in the air. Rolf hesitantly came back into view and sat behind Tonks. "So are we going to give the cookies to Tonks, or not?" Y/N asked.

"Ooh, you guys baked me cookies?" Tonks' face lit up excitedly. "Lupin bakery is the best kind of bakery into he world."

Remus looked at her with a soft smile, and Y/N could swear she saw a blush behind his expression.

Rolf cleared his throat loudly, making Remus break his gaze and shake his head slightly. Tonks blinked and turned to the Scamanders awkwardly.

"So... about the cookies?" She asked quietly.

"So just saying, I mostly made these, because these two wouldn't stop laughing, yesterday." Y/N said, narrowing her eyes at her brother and godfather.

"Yup, I'll go get them." Rolf said brightly, running to the kitchen, and returning to the living room with a plate of cookies, moments later.

Tonks smiled as Rolf went on his knee and offered her the plate of cookies dramatically.

"For our favorite badass Hufflepuff." He said with a grin.

Y/N grinned to herself and watched hopefully, as Tonks picked up one of the chocolate-chip cookies.

The Auror examined the cookie, impressed, and took a large bite, before immediately gagging. Y/N's face dropped.

"What- what's wrong?" She questioned.

"Why is it so- so salty-? ugh-" Tonks said breathlessly, throwing the cookie back onto the plate. "Sorry, Y/N, but this is- abnormally horrible."

"But I- I measured everything correctly!" Y/N exclaimed, feeling confused and slightly offended. "How is it- why is it-?"

Y/N looked over at Rolf and Remus and felt her anger rise as the both of them started to laugh together.

"You gave her the salty batch!" Y/N snapped at them, making Rolf and Remus wheeze from laughing too hard. "I'm going to call you guys Rolfard and Moonard from now on, if you don't stop with these pranks- I'm not even kidding! Shut it!"

ϟ ͛ r⃒⃘

'Dearest Harold,

Today was eventful. Well, first Rolf was going on and on about how his friend, Luna, kissed him on the cheek. I tried to tell him it was a platonic thing, but then he hit me with a spatula. Remus was furious.

Tonks came over, again, and told me some interesting information about my power. It's hard to explain, so I'll just tell you when we see each other again at Hogwarts (or sooner, hopefully.)

Hope you had an alright day with the Dursleys. Ron and Hermione are also writing me suspiciously brief letters, but I know they have their reasons. Godric, I miss you a lot already, and we're not even half way through summer break.

Love you (not),

Y/N'

Y/N signed her name and folded the letter neatly before turning to Bamboo, handing the letter to her owl. "Get this to-" Bamboo hooted understandingly, since it was very much a daily thing for Y/N to write to Harry.

Y/N smiled and gave her owl some treats, before opening her window to let him out into the dark.

She had every single letter Harry had sent her in the past three weeks stacked up neatly in her drawer. Just by seeing his handwriting and his awkward attempts flirting, Y/N felt like she was the luckiest girl in the world.

"Hey, Niff-" Rolf suddenly pushed open her bedroom door loudly and abruptly. Y/N jumped slightly and whipped her head around in frustration.

"Knock, for heaven's sake!" She hissed, hitting him on the arm.

"It's urgent, alright?" Rolf muttered, starting to style his hair in front of Y/N's mirror dreamily.

"Checking yourself out in my mirror is urgent?" Y/N snapped, glaring at her brother in deep annoyance.

"Yes." Rolf said, flipping his hair confidently. "Now, here comes the not-so-urgent part: we're moving to Headquarters for the rest of summer."

"What?" Y/N exclaimed. "You mean the Order of the Phoenix's Headquarters? Moony's workplace? Why the hell are we going there?" She didn't really know about the place- just that Remus and Tonks work worked there.

"It's not just a workplace." Rolf huffed, finally turning away from the mirror. "It's a secret society- to fight against You-Know-Who."

"Wait, but- I thought the Ministry of Magic was involved?" Y/N frowned, sitting cross-legged on her bed. "Moony said it was Ministry work-"

"He only told us that so we wouldn't get all nosy." Rolf said with a shrug.

"Well, now I'm gonna start being nosy." Y/N said eagerly.

"Now your interested."

"It's more interesting than you flirting with your reflection."

"Shut up." Rolf rolled his eyes. "Do you want to know about the Order or not?"

"Yes, just speak, already!" Y/N said impatiently, shaking her leg.

"Well, the society was gathered during the second Wizarding War, by Albus Dumbledore, himself." Rolf started, slumping onto Y/N's chair tiredly. "The Potters, Longbottoms, Weasleys, Prewitts, Dumbledores and most Aurors were part of it. Including our parents."

"Was Tonks part of it?" Y/N asked.

"She was only a toddler when the Order first gathered." Rolf said flatly. "But she's in it, now. Now that You-Know-Who's back, they gathered everyone- that's alive- back together. So far, I know the Weasleys, Moony, Dumbledore, and Tonks are part of it."

"Just them?" Y/N frowned.

"That's all that Moony mentioned." Rolf shrugged. "But I'm sure there are loads more."

"Cool, can I join this- society?" Y/N asked eagerly.

"No. Minors aren't allowed." Rolf said loudly and grumpily. "Stupid rule, really. I'm turning seventeen in three months!"

"So we're moving to the Order's Headquarters," Y/N felt her stomach jolt in excitement. "Ron'll be there, right?"

"Yeah, I think." Rolf shrugged, finally standing up. "So pack your bag. We'll come back here for our stuff for school, but just bring anything you'll need for the next month. We're leaving tomorrow."

"OK, thanks." Y/N said grimly. "You can leave, now."

Rolf glared at her and turned on his heel, before heading out of the room and not closing the door behind him.

"Close the sodding door!" Y/N bellowed. When Rolf didn't come back, she swore and jumped out of her bed, before slamming her door shut.

ϟ ͛ r⃒⃘

"Got everything you need, Y/N?" Remus asked, as Y/N walked out of Lupin Cottage with her backpack strapped to her back.

The night was quiet and stars were sprawled all over the sky. The long grass in front of them swayed gently, with the wind guiding its movements.

"I think." Y/N nodded. "Why're we traveling at ten in the night, again?"

"To avoid being seen by muggles." Remus replied, gesturing to his and Rolf's broomsticks.

"Can't we apparate or use floo?" Y/N groaned. She didn't like being on a broomstick, especially if she wasn't the one in control.

"Just stop complaining already." Rolf huffed, mounting his broomstick. "Hop on, or we'll leave you behind."

Y/N rolled her eyes and climbed onto Rolf's Nimbus 2002 uncomfortably, putting both her hands on his shoulder, and her feet on the stirrups.

"Alright, stay close to me, Rolf." Remus said sternly, before mounting his own broomstick and kicking off the ground abruptly.

Rolf followed him and shot right into the night sky. Y/N's stomach felt hollow as they flew higher and higher- seeing everything bellow become smaller and smaller. She wasn't used to being on a broom at all. Luckily enough, Rolf was a decent flyer.

"Are we near?" Y/N yelled through the loud wind crashing past her ears.

"We just took off!" Rolf yelled back in annoyance. "Don't puke all over me like you did last time!"

"I was ten!" Y/N growled back impatiently.

Remus sighed as the two started bickering again. He increased the speed of his broom and headed west, towards the city of London.

They flew in high speed for a good ten minutes, right above the clouds, the chilly air of the night hitting their faces painfully.

Finally, Remus dove down, leading Rolf to the brightly lit city underneath them.

As Y/N adjusted to her uncomfortable position, she couldn't help but notice that the buildings and lights below them were magnificently mesmerizing.

Y/N stared in awe as they flew past the London bridge, flying along the river, passing bright boats and cruises, looking down at their reflections on the surface of the water.

"Almost there!" Remus shouted brightly, from the Scamanders' left side.

"Thank Godric!" Y/N said loudly. "I'm starving."

"For heaven's sake, choose a problem," Rolf muttered bitterly, before turning his broom upwards after Remus abruptly, causing Y/N to shriek and dig her nails deeper into his shoulders.

ϟ ͛ r⃒⃘

"Alright, we have to be quick." Remus said in a low whisper, the moment their feet touched the ground.

Y/N practically jumped off Rolf's Nimbus 2002 and staggered, feeling her legs wobble and her backpack weigh her backwards, dizzy from the twenty minute journey.

She caught her breath and looked around the street, it was almost deserted, with a few cars parked by the footpath- the buildings in front of her were almost identical, with the only difference being the numbers.

"Now, you two, memorize this real quick." Remus pulled out a small piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to Rolf. "Don't say it out loud- just memorize it."

Rolf held his broom between the joints of his arm and took the piece of paper, reading Remus' neat handwriting on it.

Y/N peeked over her brother and frowned. The paper read,

'The Headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix may be found at number twelve Grimmauld Place, London.'

Y/N looked up and saw house number eleven to her left. The house next to it, in front of her, was number thirteen.

"Got it?" Remus smiled, as the Scamanders nodded firmly, frowning slightly. He took the piece of paper from Rolf's hand and turned it into flames. "Good. Now, I want you to think about what you've memorized."

Rolf nodded and closed his eyes in thought.

Y/N was slightly confused, but obeyed, also closing her eyes and thinking of number twelve Grimmauld Place, Headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix.

A loud clunk made her eyelids jolt open. She was surprised to see that another building had started to appear between house number eleven and thirteen. First the door, then the porch, then the walls, and then the whole four-story house.

Y/N gaped at it, and so did Rolf- Remus grinned broadly and led them to the door of number twelve Grimmauld Place.

Remus pulled out his wand and tapped on the silver door-knocker, once. Loud clicking noises swirled around inside and the door creaked open.

"Trippy." Rolf muttered, following Remus into the house.

Y/N stepped inside the house, into the dark hallway. She'd never imagined Remus' workplace to be like this at all. The sweetish rotten smell, and the old furniture- it looked more like how she'd imagined Malfoy's house to be like.

"Now, you," Remus turned back and looked at Rolf warningly. "I want you to not panic."

"Wait- what-? What's happening?" Rolf's eyes widened, hesitating to walk further. Y/N had also stopped anxiously.

"What is it, Moony?" She asked Remus quietly.

"You'll be alright, Y/N," Remus smiled, not looking back at the two. "Just follow me, and you'll see."

Y/N and Rolf glanced at each other hesitantly, before following Remus to the room at the end of the hallway, concealed by a black wooden door. There was chattering from inside of it.

Remus opened the door of the room and motioned for the two of them to follow him.

"L-ladies first," Rolf said nervously, stopping and pushing Y/N in front of him.

"Oh, don't be dramatic." Y/N grinned evilly and stepped inside what she guessed was a joint kitchen and dining room.

There were a few people inside, and they had all stopped talking and turned around to the door to look at Remus and Y/N.

Tonks, Mrs Weasley, Fred, George, Hermione, were sitting by the dining table, with delighted smiles on their faces.

But before she could greet any of them, Y/N's eyes fell on the middle-aged man at the end of the table, now standing- with long locks of black hair, neat clothes and a handsome smile. It couldn't be-?

"Sirius?" Y/N felt her lips part. "What are you-?"

Her words were drowned out by a loud gasp behind her. Rolf was standing at the doorway, his eyes plastered with fear, and his wand pointing towards Sirius.

"I- I know who y-you are!" He said loudly, his knuckles turning white from the grip of his wand. "Stay back-! Back, I say! Niff, get behind me-"

But Y/N had already ran across the room excitedly and brought Sirius into a warm embrace. The man chuckled and hugged her back, patting her back gently.

"Nice to see you, Y/N." He said with a soft smile.

"But you're- you're clean!" Y/N said brightly, earning a chuckle from everyone in the room- except for Rolf.

"What kind of fever dream is this?" Rolf asked weakly, his wand quivering in his hand and his eyes wider than ever, looking between Y/N and Sirius in horror. "Did you just hug Sirius Black?"

"Hey, Rolfie," Fred and George chorused enthusiastically.

"It's alright, Rolf, Sirius is innocent." Tonks said with a sigh. Her hair was now bright purple. "He's also Harry's godfather, and my cousin. Here, just come take a seat- I'll explain."

"Sirius, how come you're here?" Y/N asked, not taking her eyes off the tall wizard.

"No one's told you?" Sirius frowned, sitting back into his chair. "This is my house. Well, my parents' house, but it's mine, now. I let the Order use it for Headquarters."

"That's awesome," Y/N grinned, looking around the big room.

"So it's Harry and Harry's godfather, huh?" Said Fred's voice from across the table. He was wearing yellow pajamas, and his hair was finally short. "We're still here, you know?" George and Hermione chuckled in agreement.

Y/N looked at him and laughed, before approaching his seat and hugging him from behind.

"Sorry, Fred." She said cheekily, giving George the same hug and giving Hermione an extra long one. "I didn't know you were going to be here, Hermione."

"Well, it was kind of a secret," Hermione chuckled, patting Y/N on the arm. "I've missed you."

"Missed you too, Hermy." Y/N grinned, landing herself in a seat between Tonks and George.

"How was the journey here, Remus?" Tonks asked Remus, who went to sit next to Fred.

"It went pretty smoothly." Remus said with a shrug. "Got lost a bit, but I didn't tell the kids- Y/N looked like she was about to be sick."

Rolf blinked blankly at Sirius and slowly lowered into a seat next to Hermione, who looked at him dreamily.

"Hey," Hermione greeted the Hufflepuff sheepishly.

"Hey, Hermione." Rolf said breathlessly, his eyes still glued on Sirius Black, and his eyes still wide. Tonks sighed and started to explain to him about Sirius' situation.

"Where are the others?" Y/N asked George.

"They're all upstairs," George replied. "We knew you were coming, so we came downstairs to welcome you, you know?"

"Right." Y/N said with a grin.

"Ginny's doing homework, Mum's cleaning, and Ron's probably already asleep." Fred said grimly.

"He's actually not asleep, this time," Hermione said matter-of-factly. "He's changing. Said he'll come downstairs later, though."

"Right. So, Sirius," Y/N started, her brain full of curiosity. "Does everyone in the Order know about you, now?"

"Yeah, they do." Sirius said casually, sipping his wine. "Dumbledore told them all. All the Weasleys were shocked like your brother at first, but they later find out that I'm a rather charming man."

"Nah, mate, not when we're even more charming," Fred said, running his fingers through his hair cockily.

"Riiiight," Tonks said, eying Fred and laughing melodically. Y/N glanced across the table to see Remus roll his eyes rather stubbornly, and struggled to restrain herself from laughing.

"Y/N, you're here!" Said a rather deep and cracked voice from across the room.

Y/N turned to the entrance of the room to find Ron and Ginny at the doorway, both in their old overly worn pajamas.

The both of them beamed at her and raced across the room to attack her with a tight hug. Y/N chuckled and hugged them back happily.

"Hey guys," she muttered, as the two pulled away and looked at her, with a smile on their faces. Ginny had grown slightly taller than her, and Ron was as tall as Rolf.

"We're so sorry we couldn't write you long letters," Ron said guilty. "Dumbledore made us promise not to give much information."

"It's alright. I knew you did it for a reason." Y/N said with a weak smile. "Harry, though, in the other hand, thinks you're ignoring him."

"Poor Harry," Hermione said quietly. "He's been through a lot- oh, we should be there for him, after what happened. He probably feels all alone."

"It's alright, I've written to him." Y/N said seriously. "Every day, actually. He hates the Dursleys, mind you. But he'll forgive you guys."

Hermione and Ron looked at each other hesitantly, but nodded.

"-so this whole time," Y/N heard Rolf speak to Sirius, while he gripped his temples thought. "Peter Pettigrew was the bad guy? And he's still alive and is a death eater?"

"Precisely." Sirius nodded, grinning in amusement at Rolf's bewildered expression.

"That's... woah, OK." Rolf slowly nodded and turned to his sister. "You knew this whole time! You too, Moony!"

"Why didn't you tell him, Y/N? Remus?" Sirius questioned, furrowing his eyebrows.

"I just thought it was risky to tell him." Y/N defended. "Besides, our parents still think- thought- that you were guilty, so I didn't want to get Rolf all confused."

Sirius nodded understandingly, his face blank and slightly down.

"I'm sorry about your parents, Y/N." He said quietly. "They were amazing people, and- they were so lovable."

Y/N gulped and nodded silently, earning sympathetic looks from every direction.

"So... er-" she started, trying to change the topic. "What's this whole Order thing about? I mean- what exactly are you guys planning about?"

"We've got new information about You-Know-Who." Tonks said, taking a sip of her tea.

"We're gathering as much people as possible." Sirius continued. "See- Voldemort is back with something he didn't-"

"-not so fast, Sirius," Molly Weasley came rushing into the kitchen, with a cleaning rag in one hand and a spray bottle in the other. She looked at Y/N and Rolf and beamed. "Hello, dears, I would hug you right now, but I'm filthy."

"Hello, Mrs Weasley." Y/N and Rolf grinned back at the motherly witch.

"Sirius, I told you to be careful." Molly eyed Sirius sternly, with her hands on her hips. "I don't want the kids to know more than they should."

Every head turned back to Sirius at the other end of the table nervously. Apparently, it seemed like the pair didn't get along so well.

"Right, your right, Molly." Sirius said grimly, clearly not pleased, but didn't want to be problematic.

"Ginny, Hermione, show Y/N to her room, will you?" Mrs Weasley asked Ginny and Hermione kindly. "So she can have a rest, unpack and settle in."

Ginny and Hermione nodded and stood up enthusiastically.

"You'll be staying in a separate room, if that's OK." Mrs Weasley said to Y/N. "Ginny and Hermione are paired together. Oh, and, Rolf, you'll be with Ron. Ron, show him to your room."

"C'mon," Ron's said to Rolf, standing up from his seat. Ginny helped Y/N hold Bamboo's cage and led her out of the kitchen.

"See you," Y/N waved at the others in the room, before heading up the stairs, after Hermione and Ginny. "This house must be old old." She acknowledged, examining the structure and furniture around her.

"Yep. Six generations of Blacks." Ginny said brightly. "They have a whole tapestry of their family tree in the ground floor."

"Definitely will be checking that out." Y/N said in awe, running her hand through the rails.

"Also, keep an eye out for Kreacher." Ginny said in a low whisper.

"Ooh, what creature?" Y/N asked excitedly.

"His name is Kreacher." Hermione laughed. "He's a House-elf."

"A mental one." Ginny said with an eye roll.

"Ginny!" Hermione scolded sternly.

"So spew is still a thing?" Y/N smirked at her friend.

"S-P-E-W!" Hermione snapped, with her nose in the air. "And yes, it's still a thing! And I've been doing my research on it!"

"Dang right, she has," Ginny said with a grin. "I thought she was studying for her O.W.L.s the other day- turns out, she was learning how to knit hats for the elves."

Hermione turned bright red and scowled.

"Look, I'm not against, or anything." Ginny said, trying not to laugh, as they reached a room on the third floor. "Anyway, here it is- the last available bedroom in the house, m'lady,"

Ginny pushed open the door and gestured for Y/N to go inside dramatically, curtsying slightly.

"You sure are Fred and George's sister." Y/N said with a grin. She stepped into the room and looked around pleasantly.

It was quite a large room, with two beds on each side of the room. The furniture was especially old-fashioned in Y/N's room, with an ugly wallpaper and a rusty mini-sofa.

"Used to be Sirius's mum and dad' room." Hermione said, sitting herself on one of the beds.

"They weren't really fond of each other, were they?" Y/N eyed the distance between the two beds.

"No, I think they had no choice but to marry each other." Said Ginny, her face stretched with disgust. "They were cousins, you see."

"Um, what?" Y/N exclaimed, whipping her head around.

"Pure-blood families are one big related mess." Ginny said bitterly. "They marry each other and have children- to keep their bloodline pure."

"That's messed up." Y/N shook her head.

"That's how it is," Hermione let out a loud sigh. The girls climbed onto one bed and sat faces to each other, cross-legged, like what they typically did, every time the boys weren't around.

They paused and looked at each other, before each breaking into grins of mischief.

"Who wants to start?" Ginny asked, wiggling her eyebrows.

"You start," Y/N said eagerly. "You and that Ravenclaw guy? Micheal Corner? How is he?"

"He's a nice guy." Ginny shrugged, while Y/N and Hermione listened carefully.

"Do tell," Hermione grinned.

"Well, we met at the Yule Ball," Ginny said, with a faint pink tint on both her cheeks. "We danced, and talked- we hung out a week after, and then he asked me out."

Hermione squealed quietly and Y/N grinned in amusement.

"Do your brothers know?" Y/N asked curiously, not able to picture any of the Weasley brothers being happy about Ginny's relationship.

"Are you kidding? No," Ginny scoffed. "Fred and George would tease the life out of me, and Ron would build brick walls around me."

"No, no, you've got a point." Hermione said with a smile, as Y/N chuckled.

"Mike has something against our Quidditch team, though," Ginny said bitterly. "I would be talking to him about my interests, and then he would start talking about how bad of a Chaser Alicia Spinet is."

"That's a red flag." Y/N said with raised eyebrows. Hermione hit her on the leg and scolded,

"Y/N! They just started dating."

"That's my opinion!" Y/N defended. "I mean- no offense, Gin."

"None taken, I understand." Ginny chuckled, shaking her head slightly. "We'll see how it goes... What about you, Y/N? You and Harry?"

"Well, you see us all the time." Y/N shrugged. "There's nothing to hide, here."

"Don't make me laugh," Hermione huffed. "That one day the twins and Ron convinced me to help spy on you two- you were snogging in the common room!"

"Almost snogging," Y/N reminded her darkly. "Until Ron jumped out of your little hiding spot."

"I can't picture Harry snogging anyone." Ginny said thoughtfully. "He seems like he's always awkward- and has anger issues."

"Who says he isn't?" Y/N snorted, making Ginny and Hermione chuckle. "He's awkward and grumpy, but he can be... almost cocky, sometimes. You used to fancy him, right?" Y/N smirked at Ginny.

"Before Hogwarts, yes," Ginny admitted. "But when I became a first year, I started to fancy your brother instead-"

"Alright, stop there." Y/N said firmly. Ginny laughed.

"I know he's got his eyes on Luna, don't worry." Ginny said, grinning knowingly. "So have you guys snogged?" Ginny eyed Y/N curiously. Hermione also stared at her as eagerly.

"This is so much pressure," Y/N said, eying the two sourly. They continued to glue there eyes to her. "Yes, we have, for Merlin's sake."

"Aha!" Ginny grinned triumphantly, hitting her own lap.

"You have?" Hermione exclaimed. "Well, definitely not in front of me and Ron- so you do hide things from us!"

"What, are you guys twelve?" Y/N fired back fiercely.

"I'm fifteen and haven't seen my two best friends snog- that's worse than being twelve." Hermione said with a sly grin.

"Tell us all about it." Ginny said happily, resting her chin on her hands.

"There's nothing to tell." Y/N said, feeling her face turn hot.

"Bullocks. We're not leaving until you tell us, you know?" Ginny said, and faked a yawn.

"Cheers, Gin." Y/N said grimly. "There's nothing much to it, alright? The first time it happened was in third year-"

"What?" Hermione said loudly, her eyebrows knitted together. "Ohh, right, the Snape incident- but that was fake."

"The Snape incident?" Ginny frowned.

"Long story short, it was fake, we only did it to piss off Snape." Y/N said quickly. "But Harry was-... anyway, and then there's the one after the dance practice."

"And you remember these dates?" Ginny laughed, as Hermione smirked.

"It only happened thrice, alright?" Y/N said, her ears burning in embarrassment.

"Ooh, what's the last one?" Hermione asked eagerly.

"You know, Hermione," Y/N said slowly. "We should talk about you and you're little crush on my brother."

"Which one?" Ginny asked. Hermione threw her a look, and Ginny chuckled.

"Ron, of course," Y/N smirked, nudging Hermione's knee.

"That's ridiculous!" Hermione exclaimed, her face turning pink. "Rolf, understandable. But Ron? Huh. I think he's too sarcastic for me. He laughs at everything, doesn't care about school work- he's nothing like me."

"Opposites attract." Ginny said in a sing-song voice.

"That's just- just- ridiculous-" Hermione felt her whole face and neck turn warm. She stopped stuttering as threw a look at Y/N. "Y/N, you still haven't told us about your third kiss!"

"I still think you sound twelve." Y/N muttered bitterly.

"No, Hermione's got a point." Ginny slowly turned back to face Y/N. "Tell us about your most recent snog, Miss Scamander... and no, we're not going to drop the topic unless you tell us."

Y/N eyed the both of them in betrayal and sighed, burying her face into both her hands.

"I guess I- I kind of- snogged him at King's Cross, a few weeks ago." She said quietly.

"That's just recently!" Ginny said in surprise.

"Wait, wait- when?" Hermione asked, offended. "Ron and I were with you two the whole time!"

"I don't remember exactly, OK?" Y/N said in annoyance, as the two other girls sniggered. Y/N rolled her eyes and looked up at the clock on the wall. "Oh shit, it's almost midnight, now. I should go take a shower and you two should go to sleep."

"Is he a good kisser-?"

"Sleep!"

"Fine," Ginny huffed. "Excuses, excuses," she whispered to Hermione, who giggled in agreement.

"I heard that," Y/N snapped, shoving the two off of her bed. "Now, go before Mrs Weasley finds out I haven't even changed yet."

"Honestly, Y/N, you should be more generous about your experiences-"

"Goodnight, Ginevra," Y/N smiled at the redhead girl, guiding the two out of her bedroom.

"We're still not over this topic-"

"Yes we are, good night to you too, Hermy." Y/N hurried her friends out the door and closed it shut behind them, sighing to herself.

"The clock on the wall is dead, you know?" said a painting of a kind-looking lady in a dress form the Victorian Era, hanging from the wall. "It's still ten forty-five."

"I know." Y/N said, smiling to herself, before kicking her shoes off and unpacking her things, her mind filled with the memories she had revisited, of her moments with Harry. It was almost dangerous, the amount of care she had for him.
