A/N ~ I love Fleur so... her and Y/N will be friends, okay? Okay. Enjoy the chapter :)

As the next day was Saturday, most students would normally have breakfasted late.

Y/N, Harry, Hermione and Ron, however, were not alone in waking up much earlier than they usually did in the weekends.

When they entered the Entrance Hall, about 50 people were already there, crowding around the Goblet of Fire, which was placed on a tall stool.

A fine golden line was traced right it front of it. Y/N guessed it was the age line.

"Anyone from Hogwarts put their name in yet?" Ron asked a blonde third year girl.

"No, only the Durmstrang lot." The girl replied with a shrug. "They still have the whole day, don't they?"

"I guess." Ron shrugged.

"I mean, maybe they did it after everyone went to sleep last night." Harry shrugged. " I would've done that. To avoid all the commotion."

Suddenly, there was a chorus of laughter coming from behind the four of them.

Y/N turned around to see Fred, George and Lee running into the hall, laughing mischievously and earning claps from the Hogwarts students.

"We've taken it!" Fred said excitedly to the four.

"What?" Hermione frowned.

"The aging potion, of course!" George said with a grin.

Lee Jordan held up a long black flask in front of the Quartet's face.

"We only need a few drops each." Fred explained. "We're only a few months short, you see."

"It's not going to work." Hermione sang with an eye roll and a smirk, sitting herself on a wooden stand.

Fred and George looked at each other blankly, and then at Hermione.

They smirked and ran to either side of the girl, crouching and leaning into her ears.

"Oh, yeah?" Fred whispered to her audibly.

"Why's that, Granger?" George challenged.

Hermione scoffed loudly and rolled her eyes once again.

"You see this?" She pointed at the golden age line. "This is an age line. Dumbledore drew it himself!"

"So?" Fred furrowed his eyebrows.

"So!" Hermione smirked. "A genius like Dumbledore couldn't possibly be fooled a dodge of pathetically dim-witted, as an aging potion!"

"Yeah, but that's why it's so brilliant." said Fred, leaning closer to Hermione's face.

"'Cause it's pathetically dim-witted!" George grinned, mocking Hermione's tone.

If they weren't Fred and George, Y/N would've thought they were only flirting with Hermione. But as it turns out, the twins talk to everyone like that.

Fred, George and Lee chuckled excitedly and stood right before the age line.

"Ready, Fred?"

"Ready, George?"

"Ready, Lee?"

"Bottoms up!" The three said at the same time.

They took turns in taking a sip from the potion, before looking at each other.

"A galleon- it's gonna work." Harry whispered into Y/N's ear, making her grin widely.

"Your on." She whispered back.

The twins and Lee took a deep breath and hopped into the area of the firing goblet.

They waited for a few seconds.

Nothing happened.

The group that was watching them cheered loudly, making the three celebrate excitedly.

"Ha! Where's the galleon, Y/N Scamander?" Harry grinned at Y/N triumphantly.

"They haven't put their names in yet!" Y/N defended.

"Fine, we'll see." Harry shrugged and grinned to himself.

Fred, George and Lee pulled out three pieces of paper with their names pre-written on them. They looked at each other before dropping the names into the goblet together.

For a moment, Y/N really thought it might've worked. And so did they.

But with a loud 'bang' and several screams, the twins and Lee were thrown backwards from the goblet and onto the ground outside the age line with loud grunts.

With a loud 'pop', identical beards sprouted on their faces, making them yell in horror.

"YOU SAID-!" Fred yelled, pointing at George.

"YOU SAID!" George snapped back at his twin.

Fred growled and lunged forward to attack George.

The twins rolled around, pulling each other's beards and growling under their breath.

Lee got to his feet and scrambled away out of the hall and out of trouble.

Y/N and Ron laughed loudly, chanting with the others,

"Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!"

Hermione rolled her eyes and Harry handed Y/N a galleon grimly.

Now, the hall was absolutely filled with students from the three schools, and there were people entering their names from everywhere.

"She did it, she did it!" Y/N heard Alicia Spinnet, one of the Gryffindor Chasers exclaim.

"What is it, Alicia?" Hermione asked the girl eagerly.

"Angelina put her name it the goblet!" Alicia said happily.

Angelina Johnson, another Gryffindor chaser was beaming proudly beside her friend.

"You're kidding!" Ron exclaimed, clapping loudly.

"So you're seventeen!" Y/N exclaimed, clapping with Ron.

"Just turned seventeen last week." Angelina replied shyly.

"I'm so glad someone from Gryffindor entered!" Hermione smiled at Angelina. "I hope you get it!"

"Thanks, Hermione." Angelina smiled.

"You're lots better than pretty boy Diggory, over there," Seamus Finnigan, their fellow Gryffindor said- motioning towards Cedric Diggory, who was dropping his name into the goblet.

"Watch it, Finnigan." Rolf scowled from behind them, making Y/N turn and pout at him mockingly.

Rolf rolled his eyes and went to join Cedric Diggory and his other Hufflepuffs.

"Hello, Miss balcony."

Y/N jumped violently and whipped her head around.

Fleur Delacour was smiling at her sweetly. She was wearing a thick coat over her blue Beauxbatons uniform.

Of course, she was still using the nickname she gave Y/N, referring to the first time Y/N waved at her from the courtyard balcony.

"Oh, hey, Fleur!" Y/N said, chuckling loudly. "You scared me... again."

"I apologize." Fleur said with a laugh.

Ron, who was right next to Y/N was gaping up at her, stunned. Harry sniggered quietly.

"Are you entering your name?" Y/N asked Fleur.

"Yes, I am." Fleur said proudly, in her French accent. "Although, I am a bit nervous, seeing how many people from my school are entering."

"I really hope you get in," Y/N said eagerly. "good luck!"

"Merci," Fleur beamed, tossing her gleaming sheet of hair behind her. "I'll see you later, Miss balcony."

Fleur gave Y/N a small wave and floated across the hall to put her name into the Goblet of Fire.

"You need some fresh air, Ron?" Y/N chuckled, looking at Ron's numbed face.

"Yes." Ron gulped.

"Good, because we're going down to visit Hagrid." Said Y/N.

"Ooh, I should ask Hagrid to join S.P.E.W.!" Hermione said excitedly. "Wait for me while I go get the badges, will you?"

A full day passed, and numerous seventeen-year-olds from the three schools have entered their names into the Goblet of Fire.

Excited and nervous, the Quartet chatted eagerly to each other in the boy's dormitory right before their Hallowe'en feast, where the champions would be picked.

"I really hope it's Angelina." Y/N said seriously.

"Me too." Said Ron. "She's so much better than Cedric Diggory- he's only popular because of his looks."

"Says who?" Hermione scoffed, sitting on Dean's empty bed. "He's good at Quidditch and he's also top in class. I bet he's gonna get it."

Harry was staring gloomily at the floor, upset about the letter from Sirius he'd received earlier that day.

"Hey, Harry, I know you're still upset," Ron said quietly. "But it was sensible to tell him about your scar-"

"But now he's traveling back to Hogsmeade only because of my stupid scar!" Harry fussed. "And it's not safe, here!"

"Harry, Sirius isn't stupid." Hermione said assuringly.

"Yeah, he wants you to trust him, Harry." Y/N added. "Plus, he's glad you told him. You did the right thing."

Harry didn't answer.

His three friends glanced at each other silently, trying to find something to say.

"Er..." Ron started. "I think it's time for us to go to the feast."

"Oh yeah, the meeting starts in 10 minutes." said Hermione, checking her watch. "We should go."

"You two go." Y/N said firmly. 'I'm going to talk to him', she mouthed to Hermione, who nodded understandingly.

Ron opened his mouth to say something, but was quickly dragged out of the dorm by Hermione.

Y/N sighed and turned to the upset Harry. She smiled warmly and went to sit on his bed, next to him.

"He's going to be alright." She said firmly.

"How do you know?" Harry asked weakly.

"Hello? He escaped from Azkaban," Y/N chuckled. "And he's James Potter's friend. My mum told me he used to get past a lot of trouble in his teenage days. He knows his ways, Harold."

"You know your ways... of making me feel better." Harry said with a grin. "It's always you. Thanks, Niff."

"It's my damn job. Don't worry about it." Y/N said smugly. Harry grinned widely at her. "Now,"

Y/N jumped off the bed and onto her feet, before extending her hands. Harry smiled at her gratefully.

"Let's go see who gets chosen." Y/N said. "Luckily, you don't have to get involved in any of it, this year."

Harry laughed loudly, grabbing onto her two hands, and pulling himself up- but lost balance and fell backwards, pulling Y/N down with him by the arm.

"Oh, sh-!"

The two crashed to the stone floor of the boy's dormitory painfully with loud grunts.

"OUCH!"

"Damn it, Potter!" Y/N groaned. Luckily, she fell right on top of Harry, who's body cushioned her fall perfectly.

"I think my back just snapped." Harry groaned, covering his face.

"Why did you pull me down with you, you idiot?" Y/N shot irritatingly.

"There's a huge bump on the back of my head- I feel it." Harry groaned, ignoring Y/N's question.

"Really, Harry?" Y/N rolled her eyes.

"I hate solid floors." Harry continued to talk to himself, rubbing his head.

Y/N huffed loudly and sat up, before grabbing Seamus's pillow and hitting it on Harry's shoulder.

"Ouch-! Y/N-"

"Not a 'sorry'? Or an 'are you OK?'"

"Well, I would've thought you enjoyed that." Harry smirked, looking smugly at Y/N's expression.

(A/N ~ JAMES, PLEASE LEAVE YOUR SON'S BODY.)

Y/N's jaw dropped dramatically, making Harry burst into laughter.

Y/N scoffed, shook her head, and continued to hit him with Seamus's pillow repeatedly.

The Great Hall was decorated for Hallowe'en like every other year.

There were floating jack-o'-lanterns everywhere, and the ceiling was dark and starry.

The Quartet practically ran to their seats in excitement, as the students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang divided themselves between the four house tables.

Y/N turned to the Ravenclaw table and saw Fleur grinning at her. She grinned back and gave Fleur a thumbs-up, mouthing 'you got this'.

Dumbledore stood up from his seat and walked around the staff table to the front.

Y/N noticed a bunch of Ministry people that have joined the staff table including Ludo Bagman and Mr Crouch, whom they've met at the World Cup.

"Why is the Goblet spitting out red flames?" Colin Creevey asked, pointing at the Goblet of Fire, that was now placed on the Sorting Hat's stool.

"I think it's ready to pick the champions." Y/N replied to the third year boy.

Colin's eyes lit up excitedly and he brought his camera up readily.

"Well, the Goblet of Fire is almost ready to make its decision," Dumbledore announced.

"About time," Ron muttered.

"I estimate it needs one more minute." Dumbledore continued. "Now, if your name gets picked, please walk up to the front and enter the next chamber behind the staff table."

Y/N felt excited butterflies in her stomach. She was eager to know who the champions would be.

"Ooh, I'm excited!" Lavender Brown exclaimed, shaking her leg.

"So am I, Lavender, so am I." Y/N chuckled, staring straight at the Goblet of Fire.

The Goblet's blue flames quivered and swayed, and red sparks started to form from it. Now, the whole goblet was filled with red flames.

"Any moment, now." Dumbledore said, smiling softly at the students. Harry grinned over at Y/N eagerly.

Next moment, a tongue of flame shot into the air and a charred piece of paper fluttered out of it.

The hall gasped.

Dumbledore caught the price of paper, as the Fire in the Goblet turned blue-ish-white once again.

"The champion from Durmstrang," he said in a loud and clear voice. "will be... Viktor Krum!"

"No surprises, here!" Ron said, clapping loudly with the others.

"Oh, it's grumpy-guy!" Hermione chuckled, clapping with everyone else. Y/N noticed her admiring Krum curiously.

Krum emerged from the Slytherin table with a straight face. His friends thumped him on the back and Igor Karkaroff, the Durmstrang headmaster, exclaimed 'yes!' loudly.

Krum walked to the front of the hall and shook hands with Dumbledore, before disappearing behind the staff table.

The clapping and cheering died down, and the hall was tense once again.

Y/N stared at the Goblet and crossed her fingers, as the blue flames turned red.

Another tongue of flame shot into the air, and a piece of paper fluttered from it. Dumbledore caught it and looked up.

"The champion from Beauxbatons," he said. "Is... Fleur Delacour!"

"Yes!" Y/N cheered, clapping loudly with everyone else.

"It's her, Ron!" Harry said, thumping Ron's back.

Ron stared as Fleur walked by. She gave Y/N a quick smile and went to shake hands with Dumbledore.

She then, disappeared after Krum into the chamber behind the staff table.

The Goblet turned red once more, and another piece of paper came spying out of the tongue of flame, before Dumbledore caught it.

"Our champion from Hogwarts is..." he smiled. "Cedric Diggory!"

Y/N, Harry, and Hermione cheered loudly.

Ron groaned but clapped, as the Hufflepuff table went insane. Everyone screamed in excitement, and jumped up and down.

"You go, Ced!" Rolf cheered loudly, thumping Cedric on the back.

Cedric stood up from the table with a large grin and went up to the front of the hall, before greeted with a hug by Dumbledore.

He then left the Hall after Krum and Fleur.

"Excellent!" Dumbledore said loudly. "Congratulations to Mr Krum, Miss Delacour and Mr Diggory! Now that we have our three champions, I would like to-"

But Dumbledore was stopped by a loud hiss from the Goblet of Fire.

No one but perhaps Y/N, Snape, and Mad-eye Moody noticed this. Y/N and Snape stood up and stared intensely at the Goblet.

When a long red flame shot from the Goblet, everyone fell completely silent and turned their attention back at the Goblet. A piece of paper came out from the tip of the flame.

Dumbledore had a slight frown on his face as he caught the piece of paper.

He stared at the words on the paper, before clearing his throat loudly and read,

"Harry Potter."

Silence.

Absolute silence.

No clap, no cheer.

Y/N felt her mouth part and her lungs tighten.

There must be a mistake.

She turned to see Harry pale in the face. He shrank back into his seat, his face plastered with confusion.

"I didn't put my name in," he said, looking at his three friends. "you know I didn't."

But the three didn't answer.

"Harry Potter!" Dumbledore said, louder than ever. "Harry! Up here, please!"

"Go on," Hermione said quietly, giving him a slight push.

Harry was forced to stand up and walk away. He turned to give Y/N last innocent look, before walking to Dumbledore.

Dumbledore didn't give him a hug, but instead said,

"Through the door, Harry." with no smile on his face.

Harry looked like he was about to cry, as he walked past the glaring professors- even Hagrid was staring at him with confusion.

When Harry disappeared, the hall erupted into a buzz, with some people shouting and cussing at Harry angrily.

"First my sister, now my friend's spotlight!" Rolf growled. "What else are you going to steal, Potter?"

"Potter stinks!" Malfoy yelled across the hall.

"He's a cheat!" Terry Boot from Ravenclaw exclaimed.

"This can't- this can't be." Y/N whispered, blanking out from the yells in the hall. "They can't let him enter! Hermione-"

But Hermione was shaking her head sadly.

Ron, however, was scowling after Harry, as though he believed Harry had entered his name.

"Ron," Hermione shook Ron's arm. "don't- don't tell me you're thinking-"

"Oh, I don't know, Hermione, maybe I am." Ron said, hesitantly.

"What do you mean?" Y/N snapped at the redhead.

"You know what I mean, Y/N." Ron muttered. "It's going to be like this every year, isn't it?"

"You're mad." Y/N glared at Ron. "You can't possibly think that your best friend asked for this! You think he put his name in?"

"Well, I don't know, Sherlock," Ron shot back at her sourly. "Who's name just popped out of that burning mug cup-?"

"You can't be serious-"

"Oh, you're always on his side-"

"Yeah, that's right! And what about it?"

"SHUT UP." Hermione bellowed loudly.

Y/N and Ron froze and stared at the bushy-haired girl. Hermione never shouted like that. Her face was red, and she was gripping her head.

"It's already stressful enough- please stop." She said weakly.

"I'm sorry, alright?" Ron said weakly with a loud sigh, slumping down in his seat. "I'm just... confused."

"We all are..." Y/N said quietly. She looked up to see the professors starting to disappear into the chamber where all the champions were.

ϟ ͛ r⃒⃘

"Y/N.... Y/N, wake up, it's Monday." Hermione said. Her voice wasn't cheerful, but was quite serious. That made Y/N wake up immediately.

"Oh? It is?" Y/N sat up on her bed and rubbed her eyes.

"Yeah..." Hermione said. She was already in her robes, and had a sad smile on her face.

Then, Y/N remembered.

"Harry." She whispered. "Harry." She scrambled out of bed and and quickly onto her two feet.

"Y/N, slow down." Hermione said in a concerned voice.

"No, no, I fell asleep before he came back last night," Y/N groaned, grabbing her school robes. "he probably thinks I'm mad at him-"

"He doesn't, I promise." Said Hermione, "I told him you were still on his side. He's glad."

"Then why do you sound so sad?" Y/N asked slowly. Hermione's smile dropped.

"Well... it's Ron..." she said. Y/N slowly nodded.

"He still thinks Harry entered his name?" she asked cooly.

"I doubt that." Hermione said quickly.

"Then what do you mean?" Y/N frowned, closing the door of the girl's bathroom.

"Well, you know Ron," Hermione's voice muffled from outside. "He's... Oh, Y/N-"

"What is it?" Y/N asked, slipping on her robes.

"Well, isn't it obvious?" Hermione said faintly. "It's always Harry that got all the attention. Never Ron."

"You think he's jealous?" Y/N asked, opening the bathroom door.

"Yes!" Hermione said seriously. "He knows Harry wouldn't do such thing, but he still doesn't want to accept the fact that Harry's going to be the center of attention again."

"I will never understand that, but thanks." Y/N replied, swinging her school bag over her shoulder. "We got Potions first class don't we?"

"Are you not concerned about the boys?" Hermione asked desperately.

"Definitely." Y/N said bluntly. "Did you save me any toast?"

Hermione sighed and pulled out 2 pieces of toast wrapped in a napkin. Y/N beamed and took them in her hands.

"You're the best. Thanks."

"So is our plan to stay out of it as much as possible?" Hermione questioned, not dropping the topic.

"Eg- fac- ly," Y/N replied with her mouth full of toast.

"Got it. Good plan." Hermione grinned. "Now let's go before Snape turns into the Giant Squid."

"Wait-" Y/N laughed, swallowing her toast. "when were you going to tell me our Potions Professor isn't the Giant Squid?"

A/N ~ HEY AGAIN- here's another short chapter. As you probably can tell, I LOVE Fleur and I absolutely don't understand why people dislike her. So there will be quite a bit of Fleur content this year.

Another thing- the Yule Ball is coming close and closer and IT'S GOING TO BE A BIG THING. I'M NERVOUS.

That's it, for now. Thanks for everything xx
