"How in the name of Merlin did you get here, Harry?" Y/N laughed, as she and her three friends walked to The Three Broomsticks. Harry was under the invisibility cloak.
"Fred and George." Harry said quietly.
"Of course," Ron sighed. "What did they make you do, this time?"
"They gave me this map that showed every passage way in the castle," Harry replied. "and a live preview of where everyone was."
"Excuse me?" Hermione and Y/N exclaimed, causing several people around them to stare.
"Bloody hell," Ron muttered.
"Yeah, I'll show you once we get in." Harry said happily. Hermione glanced at Y/N nervously. Whatever it was, it sounded quite sketchy.
The Quartet walked through the snowy paths of Hogsmeade and into The Three Broomsticks. The bar was warm and was crowded with Hogwarts students. It was already decorated for Christmas and had big Christmas trees placed randomly in the corners.
Harry struggled to walk without bumping into anyone, since that would really give them a shock.
"Harry, where are you?" Y/N asked, trying not to move her lips.
"Right behind you." Harry whispered back.
They made their way through slowly and found an available table at the back of the bar. Hermione waved her wand and placed a bushy Yule tree in front of the table, so Harry didn't have to wear the invisibility cloak anymore.
"Phew, finally." Harry sighed and emerged from under his invisibility cloak. He smiled at his three friends and sat down next to Y/N. "So, what should we get?"
"Butterbeer, of course." Y/N, Ron and Hermione said at the same time. Harry grinned.
"Sure, should I go get them?" he started to stand up.
"No!" Ron bolted to his feet and Harry slowly sat back down. "I can! I- I have longer legs. It'll be faster." he then proceeded to walk to the counter with his nose in the air and his chest pushed forwards. Hermione rolled her eyes.
"Madam Rosmerta," she says, "Ron fancies her."
"Huh," Harry raised his eyebrows.
"So Harry," Y/N started. "Can we see the map?" she asked eagerly. Harry nodded and pulled out a blank piece of parchment from his pocket. He tapped the parchment with his wand three times and said,
"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good." the map revealed itself and Y/N and Hermione raised their eyebrows. It showed every floor of the entire castle and everyone in it.
"Woah," Y/N breathed.
"This is- this is Hogwarts?" Hermione asked, impressed.
"Yes, it is." Harry grinned. "And see the little name tags on the map? Yeah, those show where the actual people are right now. That's Ginny, see? In the common room." He pointed at the tiny dot in the Gryffindor common labeled 'Ginevra Weasley'.
"Wicked." Y/N grinned.
"But Harry..." Hermione frowned. "This is- advanced magic, here. Don't you think it could be- you know, dangerous? I mean, this is Fred and George, we're talking about."
"You're doing it again, Hermione." Y/N sighed. "I can bet you anything the creators built this map for themselves. If I could build a map like this, I would, too."
"Y/N, you have to start opening your eyes!" Hermione said, earning a frown from Harry.
"What's that supposed to mean?" he asked.
"I mean, you guys have to actually start being more cautious." Hermione said sternly. "With Sirius Black roaming around,-"
"But this is perfect!" Y/N said a little louder. "We can keep an eye out for Black with this map. I don't see a flaw about that." she crossed her arms.
"I agree," Harry said, folding the map back into his pocket. "You're not going to report this, aren't you?"
"Of course not!" Hermione exclaimed. "It's just-"
"Drop it, Hermione." Harry said. "It's just a map."
Hermione opened her mouth to say something, but quickly shut it as her eyes widened.
"What is it?" Y/N asked.
"The Minister!" Hermione whispered. "And Professor McGonagall- and Hagrid! And other professors- Harry, hide!"
Harry quickly dived under the table, hitting his head painfully with a bang.
"Owww," he groaned. Y/N tried her best not to burst into laughter. She hummed casually as the teachers walked past them. Hagrid smiled and waved.
"Hello, Y/N! Hello, Hermione!" he greeted them, beaming widely.
"Hey, Hagrid." The girls chorused, waving back at him.
"What are you doing here?" Y/N asked.
"Oh, just grabbin' a drink with ther Minister and some professors." Hagrid shrugged. "Harry and Ron not here?"
"Ron's grabbing the drinks." Y/N replied. "But Harry's at the castle."
"Right, good fer him." Hagrid nodded. "I'll see yeh later, you two."
"See you," Hermione and Y/N said. Hagrid and the other professors marched up the stairs to the second floor of the bar. When everyone was out of sight, Harry climbed up from under the table.
"Your head alright?" Y/N smirked.
"Yep, brilliant." Harry said, rubbing the top of his head. "Listen, Y/N, Hermione, I think I'm going to go upstairs."
"What?" Y/N frowned.
"Harry, it's risky!" Hermione said. But Harry already disappeared back under his invisibility cloak.
"I'll be back, soon." He said. "I just want to know what they're up to."

"How long has it been?" Ron asked, looking around for a sign of Harry. It has been half an hour since Harry left to go eavesdrop the Minister and the professors.
Y/N, Ron and Hermione have finished their butterbeers (Ron even had a second), but Harry was nowhere to be seen.
"Half an hour." Y/N checked her watch. "What do you think he's doing?"
"I told him not to go!" Hermione fussed. "What if he got in trouble?" Y/N shook the thought away.
"Maybe he went somewhere else already?" Ron suggested.
"Couldn't have." Hermione thought carefully. "Otherwise we would've seen the door open."
"Wait-" Y/N said suddenly, jolting up from her seat. "There! At the door!" she pointed at the door of the bar. The door was pushed open by itself and slowly closed. The three Gryffindors looked at each other and stood up. "This is not good," Y/N muttered.
She grabbed her purse and her sweet bags and scrambled through the crowded bar.
The three sprinted out of the bar and into the chilly breeze of the tiny village. They saw from a far, foot prints appearing on the white snow. Harry seemed to be running away.
Y/N, Ron, and Hermione sprinted after him, passing a group of choir singers, making them fall to the ground with loud grunts.
"Sorry, excuse me!" Hermione squeaked. They stepped over the fallen singer and ran.
"He's upset," Y/N said, more to herself than anyone else.
Harry was running towards the back of the village and to the area of the Shrieking Shack.
His footprints stopped at a large rock, and Y/N assumed he had sat down.
Y/N, Hermione and Ron paused and gave Harry some space. Y/N then slowly stepped towards the rock, making Ron grab her arm warningly. She shook it away, walked towards Harry and kneeled down. She reached out her hand and felt the silky texture of the invisibility cloak. Y/N slowly pulled it to reveal a sobbing Harry.
Y/N felt her heart break silently.
"Harry, what happened?" she asked quietly. Harry shivered uncontrollably with sadness and anger, tears pouring out of his eyes.
"He was their friend... and he betrayed them (A/N~ referring to Sirius Black and his parents)." Harry said in allow whisper. He made a fist and sobbed harder. "HE WAS THEIR FRIEND!" Harry bellowed, causing Y/N to wince. He continued through gritted teeth, "I hope he finds me. Because when he does, I'm gonna be ready. When he does, I'm gonna kill him!"

The week after that day was horrible. Harry avoided his three friends cautiously, and didn't talk much. He didn't want to talk to anyone because he was burning with anger every minute. He felt bad for ignoring them, but was afraid he might accidentally snap at them if he spoke.
It was a quiet Friday night, and his anger was starting to fade away. He let Y/N help him with his homework and laughed when she told a joke about Scabbers and Crookshanks.
Y/N was more than relieved that his mood was getting better.
Turns out, Sirius Black was the one who was James and Lily Potter's best friend, and leaked their location to Lord Voldemort. He was the reason why Harry's parents were dead. He also happens to be Harry's godfather.
Y/N felt extremely bad for him, but was also confused why he would take his anger on them.
"I think that's enough homework for me today." Harry spoke and stood up.
"What?" Y/N looked up blankly. "Oh- yeah, go ahead. I'll finish mine down here." she gave him weak smile.
Harry felt slightly hurt at this. Y/N was always enthusiastic and humorous, and she most definitely never gave a fake smile. Harry slowly went to sit next to her in her armchair and looked at her shamefully.
"Y/N, are you alright?" Harry asked. "You've been down, lately-"
"No you've been down, lately." Y/N said cooly. She shut her book loudly and turned to face him. Given how small the armchair was, their faces were only a few inches from each other. "It's driving me depressed, Harry. Seeing you sad, like that."
Harry felt extremely guilty that he had dragged her into his problems.
"I'm so sorry, Y/N." He whispered. Y/N turned away and sighed. "Truly." Harry added. "I never wanted to ignore you, it's just- it's been a fistful for me." Y/N's expression softened.
"It's alright, Harry." she said quietly. "I know how hard it is for you. But you have to not make stupid choices. Forget about Black, the Ministry will have him soon enough." she looked into Harry's emerald eyes. Merlin, she'd never noticed how beautiful they were.
"I can't promise that," Harry said quietly. "But I'll promise to stop being so depressing. I've missed you, Y/N." he slowly grabbed her hand. It was so soft and slightly cold. Y/N smiled- this time, it was genuine.
"Can't survive a week without me, huh, Harold?" she teased, biting her lip slightly. Harry felt a jolt in his stomach and blushed.
"Whatever," he said, trying to hide a smile. "I bet you can't survive a week without me, too."
"Goooo," Y/N said and pushed him away playfully. "go to sleep."
"What about you?" Harry asked.
"I still have to finish my Herbology homework. You go." she pulled out her homework and grinned at the raven haired boy next to her. "Really, just go."
"Alright," Harry sighed loudly and got up to his feet. He walked towards the stone stairs and looked back at the girl that was studying next to the fireplace. "Good night, Y/N." he said.
Y/N looked up smiled.
"Night, Harry."
∞ ϟ 9¾ ♔ ⚯͛ △⃒⃘ ➵ ♆
"Y/N! Hey, Y/N, wake up." Someone shook Y/N's body softly. She groaned and rubbed her eyes.
"I- want- sleep." she muttered and stirred lazily.
"Y/N..." Harry shook her body once again. "I found something- on the map. I want you to come with me."
"Harold Pottah?" Y/N smiled through her tired eyes. Harry tried his best not to grin and rolled his eyes. "What time is it?" Y/N mumbled.
"3 in the morning." Harry replied. Y/N gaped at him, acting dramatically offended.
"And you woke me up for what?" she asked, pushing his face away.
"Well, you kind of fell asleep in the common room." Harry muttered. "And I want you to come with me- Peter Pettigrew, Y/N. The guy that Sirius Black killed- he's on the Marauder's Map!"
Y/N frowned and got up quickly. Harry brought out the map and pointed at a tiny dot on the map- it was clearly labeled 'Peter Pettigrew'. The dot was in one of the corridors on the second floor. Y/N immediately stood up.
"What the bloody hell?" she exclaimed.
"I know, we have to go find out." Harry said, grabbing Y/N's wrist. "C'mon,"
"Harry, should we use the invisibility cloak?" Y/N asked cautiously.
"No, it won't cover both." Harry said. "We have the map. I think that's enough."
And so, the two Gryffindors hurried out of the common room, and into the dark corridors of Hogwarts. Everywhere was pitch black, and not a light was seen.
"Lumos," Y/N and Harry whispered. The tip of their wands lit up, making several paintings around them complain. Harry shone the light above the Marauder's Map and the two stared at the tiny dot that was labelled 'Peter Pettigrew'. If the map was right, Peter was only two corridors away from them.
"This is kind of creepy," Y/N muttered, but led the way into an empty corridor boldly. "Where's Filch, Harry?"
"Filch..." Harry checked the map once again. "At the fifth floor. Mrs Norris is at the seventh floor. All clear."
Y/N nodded and slowly walked forwards through the dark, the tip of her wand leading the way.
"How far, Harry?" she asked, her voice shaking slightly.
"Not far, but- he's moving away..." Harry frowned and walked faster. "We have to catch up, c'mon. He's not far at all." they grabbed each other's hands and walked forwards, breathing heavily. Y/N glanced at the map.
If the map was right, they should see Peter once they turned the corner ahead...
Y/N held her breath and looked at Harry. They both nodded and walked around the corner slowly. The corridor was dark, but Y/N could see, clearly, that there was no man in sight.
"Take it back, this is really creepy." Y/N breathed.
"But that's- impossible." Harry glanced down at the map and them ahead of them. "He's supposed to be right here."
"Harry, the map is really old." Y/N said in conclusion. "It's showing the name of someone who's dead and not in this castle. It's probably a glitch or something."
"But it's- Fred and George said it's been completely accurate for the past few years..." Harry frowned once again and shook his head. "I guess it's just a glitch."
"Right," Y/N nodded. "Let's go back. I need some sleep." she turned back and led the way, only to be pulled back by Harry. "What?" Y/N asked.
"Shhhh!" Harry hushed and his eyes widened slightly at the Marauders Map. "Snape! he's not far from here." he whispered. "Oh shit, he's walking this way!"
"What the hell?" Y/N panicked. "Why didn't you see that coming?"
"Did you just call Snape a 'that'?" Harry grinned.
"It's not time for jokes, Harry!" Y/N scolded.
"I wasn't looking, OK!" Harry whispered back.
"What should we do?" Y/N looked down at the map and saw the dot labeled 'Severus Snape' getting closer and closer.
Y/N turned back to the dark corridor and started to run but froze. "Oh, no, no, no, this corridor's a dead end! We're freaking trapped!"
"Hey, Y/N, keep your voice down!" Harry hissed.
He breathed slowly and thought for a moment as Y/N swore repeatedly under her breath. Harry then turned to Y/N and folded the map away, putting out the light on the tip of his wand.
"What are you doing?" Y/N whispered. "It's really dark out here!"
"Put out your wand!" Harry whispered.
"But-"
"Y/N, trust me on this."
"We can't see-!"
"Y/N!"
"Fine, fine! Nox," Y/N's light disappeared and they were left in the dark. It was like a scene from a horror movie. Y/N gulped and tugged on Harry's hoodie string. "I don't like jump scares, Har-"
"Do you trust me, Y/N?" Harry asked, gripping both her hands tightly. Y/N looked at his hands and frowned
"Sure," Y/N muttered back.
"Don't panic." Harry warned.
"Wasn't going to," Y/N grinned teasingly.
"OK, then, just play along. Alright?" Harry said quietly.
"What do you mean, play-?" but Y/N was cut off.
Harry had pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her waist. He leaned in quickly and pressed his lips against hers. He gripped her back softly and kissed her eagerly. Y/N's eyes widened in shock, but remembered that she was supposed to play along.
Y/N kissed him back immediately, wrapping her arms around his neck. It was supposed to be a fake kiss, but it was so realistic that Y/N could feel her heart expand. Harry's stomach was waltzing like crazy...
"Potter! Scamander!" someone hissed angrily.
A bright light was shone onto Y/N and Harry's face and they pulled away from each other, squinting their eyes. Snape was pointing his Lumos-lit wand at them, looking at the two disgustedly. His face was scrunched and his nostrils were flaring. "What. Are. You. Doing."
"Snogging," Harry shrugged, giving Y/N a grin. Y/N fought back the urge to laugh. Snape stood rigid at his spot.
"Fifty points from Gryffindor!" Snape hissed. "Go back to your dormitories at once!" he seemed to be too disturbed to give them detention or to ask anymore questions.
"Yes, Professor." Y/N and Harry said quietly.
'The plan had worked, I guess', Y/N thought to herself.
They sighed and turned on their heel, but something fell out of Harry's pocket with a soft 'thud'. Y/N froze and her eyes slightly widened.
"Shit," Harry muttered under his breath.
"Potter!" Snape frowned and picked up the Marauder's Map. "What's this?"
"Pretty sure that's a piece of parchment, sir." Harry said. Y/N let out a snort, but turned it into a cough.
"Don't sass at me, Potter." Snape snapped. He examined the piece of parchment in his hands and a look of realisation stretched his face. "I ask you again, Potter. What is this?"
"Parchment for my homework, sir." Harry repeated. Snape looked outraged. He ignored Harry's words and pointed his wand at the map.
"Reveal you secrets!" he hissed. And to Y/N and Harry's horror, something appeared on the map. But it wasn't the map itself. Harry and Y/N looked closely and saw tiny writings on the map. It read:
'Messrs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs offer their compliments to Professor Snape, and request he keep his abnormally large nose out of other people's business.'
Now, Y/N was struggling in her spot as she kept herself from laughing. Harry was grinning slightly and Snape's nostrilled flared angrily. He gritted his teeth and gave them a dangerous glare.
"How dare you-"
"Professor Snape!" The three turned behind and saw Professor Lupin standing in his pyjamas. He was grinning broadly and was also holding a lit wand. "What's the problem, here?" Lupin asked, approaching them.
"Ahh, Professor Lupin." Snape said in a fake pleasant voice. "Just in time. I've just caught Potter and Scamander- wondering around the castle, and I just happen to find this with them." Snape thrusted the map into Lupin's hands.
Lupin frowned and looked at the map carefully. His eyes explored the surface of parchment slowly .
Snape's lips curled in triumph as Lupin's expression tensed up.
"Probably one of Zonko's products." Lupin shrugged, gripping onto the map. "Looks like a joke to me." Snape's face glowed with anger.
"Y/N brought it for me from Hogsmeade, sir." Harry lied fluently.
"See! That's it, then." Lupin smiled and turned to the two Gryffindors. "I don't know what you two were- er- doing, but you must go back to your dormitories. I assume Professor Snape had already taken away your house points, so there's no need for me to do that. Good night, all."
He smiled at the frustrated Snape and nodded at Y/N and Harry.
"P-professor," Harry called as Lupin started to walk away.
"Yes, Harry?" Lupin turned.
"Can I- can I have my joke product back?" Harry asked, glancing at Y/N nervously.
"Oh, of course, Harry." Lupin handed Harry the map and Y/N swore she saw him wink. "What are you two waiting for? Good night, all."
Y/N and Harry didn't hesitate to turn and walk away. Y/N noticed they were still gripping each other's hands, so she wiggled out awkwardly.
They walked back to the Gryffindor common room quietly, the two of them thinking of the same thing. Harry's face was red and Y/N was struggling not to blush, herself. Of course, it was just a fake kiss to avoid Snape's irritating questions.
Right?...
"Well, erm-" Harry started, when they reached the stairs to their dormitories. He was bright red and was scratching the back of his head. "About the kiss, I was just trying to-"
"No, I get it." Y/N smiled weakly. "It was actually a good plan. If you hadn't dropped the goddamn map."
Harry chuckled and rolled his eyes before grinning at his best friend.
"Good night, Y/N." he said.
"Good morning, Harold." Y/N smirked at Harry and yawned. She walked up the stairs and into her dormitory, realising how tired she was. Harry felt a stupid grin stretched on his face. He shook his head and sighed. He could feel his face and ears burn as he closed the door to his dormitory quietly.

A/N ~ So... that happened. Do y'all think it was for the sake of avoiding Snape's questions, or is it Harry trying to hint you something(*wink). I know not many people will be reading this, but I hope you enjoyed the chapter! I appreciate every single one of you...
