A/N ~ Quick note, I'm aware the timeline is not so accurate if you actually check the events that happened during this chapter in the POA book, but it still makes sense. Anyways, hope you enjoy!

"Repeat after me, class- Ridikulus!" Professor Lupin said kindly, as the cupboard in the middle of the room shook violently.

"Ridikulus!" the third years repeated in union.

"This class is ridiculous." Y/N heard Draco Malfoy mutter as Crabbe and Goyle sniggered. His arm was bandaged up in a thick layer of cloth.

"Not as ridiculous as being a daddy's boy." Y/N shot at him, making Harry laugh. Draco glared at her and stepped forward angrily.

"Don't you dare speak to me, blood-traitor!" he spat and Y/N made a fist.

"Hey, you two, is there a problem?" Professor Lupin looked at them in concern, making the whole class turn to the two. They both backed away from each other shamefully and said,

"Nothing, Professor."

"Good... so let me find a volunteer." Professor Lupin stroked his chin thoughtfully. "Ah, Mr Longbottom, please come join me up front." he reached a hand out for the frightened Neville Longbottom.  Neville whimpered and slowly stepped towards the Professor.

Meanwhile, Harry grabbed onto Y/N's hand.

"What are you doing, Harry?" Y/N whispered and looked down at Harry's grip.

"Making sure you don't hex Malfoy into a ferret or something." he grinned. Y/N scoffed but let him hold onto her hand. She turned back to the lesson just in time to see Neville's Boggart turn into a scary looking Severus Snape.

"The only thing that's scary about Snape is the power of his greasy hair." Y/N muttered and smiled to herself. Harry heard her and chuckled.

"Did you just say what I thought you said?" Harry asked, amused.

"Focus, Potter." Y/N said playfully and turned back to Professor Lupin's lesson. The two watched as Neville yell, 'Ridikulus' and as Snape's outfit changed into an old-fashioned lady's outfit. It was Neville's grandmother's outfit. Snape's face looked horrified and his dead crow hat slipped from his greasy hair and onto the floor. The class burst into laughter, and even Neville let out a snort.

"Excellent, marvellous job, Neville!" Professor Lupin clapped. "Form a line, everyone, no pushing. And think of something you find hysterical! Go on, Parvati." he then turned on some funky music to go along with the lesson and sat on top of a desk.

As Parvati stepped forwards, the Boggart Snape spun madly and quickly shape shifted into a horrifying mummy. The girl stepped back in horror, her eyes wide with shock.

"Come one, Parvati, you know the spell!" Professor Lupin reminded her.

Parvati took a deep breath and pulled out her wand, pointing it directly at the Boggart.

"Ridikulus!" she exclaimed confidently. The mummy stumbled and turned into a pile of toilet paper. Y/N and Harry laughed, as well as the others. Parvati smiled proudly and stepped back for the next person to have a turn.

Throughout the lesson, the Boggart changed into various things. It was entertaining for Y/N to discover her class mates's worst fears. A snake, a Banshee, a giant spider (of course, Ron!), an abusive mother... and soon enough, it was Y/N's turn.

"Go on, Miss Scamander!" Professor Lupin encouraged her.

Y/N took a deep breath and stepped forward, allowing the Boggart to sense her fear. It immediately spun and changed its form... After a while, the Boggart stopped shape shifting, and Y/N found herself looking at her three best friends, Hermione, Ron and Harry. They looked up at her and smiled and Y/N could feel herself smile back.

"What's this? Is the Boggart broken?" Seamus Finnigan asked aloud in his Irish accent.

Just as the word 'broken' left his mouth, the Boggart trio suddenly exploded into silver dust. And Y/N knew why... her worst fear was hurting her friends with her power. Y/N gasped and stared at the silver dust floating in the air. Her hands trembled as she reacher for her wand.

"Quickly, Y/N! Your wand, Y/N," Professor Lupin said from behind her.

Y/N quickly pulled out her want and pointed it at her worst fear.

"Ridikulus!" she bellowed, in the verge of tears. The Boggart bursted into rainbow confetti immediately, leaving Y/N shuddering in fear. Y/N sighed and stepped out of the line for the next person. Ron, who had already had the chance to face the Boggart, pulled her into a bear hug.

"And my Boggart was a bloody spider." he shook his head and let her go. "You OK, Y/N?"

"Of course I'm OK, Ron." Y/N chuckled. The Boggart had scared her, but she quickly snapped back to reality. What Ron didn't know was the meaning behind her Boggart. He only thought her worst fear was the trio's death, and not what caused their death.

Y/N saw that both Harry and Hermione were looking at her with a n adoring smile and she laughed. "It was just a stupid Boggart, it was nothing."

She turned back to see Harry steping forwards. The Boggart spun and changed its form. Y/N was expecting it to turn into Voldemort, so she shut her eyes tightly. Ron nudged her arm for her to open them just in time for Y/N to see that the Boggart was none other than a hooded Dementor.

Professor Lupin stepped in front of Harry, shielding him from the Dementor-Boggart and Harry froze in his spot.

The Dementor changed its form again when the Professor stepped forwards. This time, it turned into a glowing moon in the middle of a cloudly night. Y/N blinked in confusion and watched as the Professor stared at the moon in horror.

"Ridikulus!" Lupin shouted, making the Boggart turn into a deflating balloon. He then conjured it right back into the old rusty closet. He sighed in relief and shooed the students away. "Alright, that's it for today. No homework. Class dismissed."

The Quartet were ushered out the room along with the others. Y/N could see Harry looking slightly disappointed. He did not understand why Lupin had stopped him. Did he think Harry was weak? Did he think Harry would pass out again?

The Quartet walked down the marble stairs quietly for a while until Y/N spoke up.

"It was probably for everyone's sake, Harry." Y/N said softly, putting a hand on Harry's shoulder. "I mean, everybody hates dementors. I personally find them horrifying." she said.

"Yeah, I think I had a mini heart attack when it showed up." Ron nodded.

"It's alright, guys, you don't have to... I was just a little taken back." Harry said truthfully. He then turned and smiled at Y/N. "Your biggest fear is our death?" he watched as the girl blushed.

"Y-yeah, it is," Y/N said. It was only half a true. She shook her head. "it's stupid, I know."

"It wasn't." Hermione assured her. "I'm positive my worse fear is something similar to yours."

"Huh." Ron huffed. "Or, lies aside, it would probably be a test sheet marked 99%."

"Y/N! Harry!" Ron called excitedly, running into the common room with a bushy-haired Hermione following behind. He had just came back from dinner and beamed excitedly when he saw his two friends in the Gryffindor common room. Y/N and Harry were playing wizard's chess together and Y/N seemed to be winning by a lot.

"THAT WAS- ugh, idiot!" Harry complained, as Y/N's queen took his last knight. Y/N laughed and clapped her hands.

"You are terrible as chess," she said to Harry, then turned to Ron, who had sat on an armchair near them. Hermione slumped down beside Harry. "I'm sorry, what'd you say, Ron?" Y/N asked the redhead.

"Fred and George just told me- our first Hogsmeade trip is on Hallowe'en!" he said in excitement. Y/N smiled brightly. Ron seemed to be the most enthusiastic about the news. "On Hallowe'en. We get to go to Hogsmeade and eat at the feast! So in, er, two weeks? No, one week-"

"Eight days." Hermione quickly calculated. She, too, seemed to be excited about the news. "I'm really excited! Professor McGonagall told me about the village's history-"

"Honeydukes is by far the biggest candy shop in this area. Zonko's also sounds brilliant!" Ron cut Hermione childishly. "The butterbeer also sounds delicious, oh- maybe we should go to McFly's Broom Supplies, too!" he looked ahead dreamily. Harry sighed loudly, making his three friends feel suddenly guilty.

"Harry, we'll bring you a lot of stuff." Hermione said warmly.

"Oh, I forgot- are you sure you can't go, mate?" Ron asked. "Maybe take you invisibility cloak or something-"

"No, Ron!" Hermione scolded. "He can't!"

"Why not?" Y/N asked frowning.

"Oh, because, well, Sirius Black!" Hermione said. Ron and Harry looked at each other. "Harry, he's after you... don't you think it's a little dangerous if you go walking around Hogsmeade, where literally anyone could just be Black in disguise!"

"Hermione, you're doing it again." Y/N said, rolling her eyes. "You're over thinking. Harry is fully capable of taking care of himself."

Harry smiled and felt a rush of gratitude for Y/N. She winked at him, making Harry grin to himself. Ron muttered an agreement and nodded his head. Hermione, however, did not look so pleased.

"Y/N, I thought you'd be more worried about Harry." she said, making Y/N turn pink. "It's too dangerous. Plus, I bet there'd be dementors wondering around. And Harry's not really fond of them. You can't go, Harry, invisibly cloak or not, it isn't safe for you."

"Maybe just try asking Professor McGonagall." Ron continued, ignoring Hermione completely. "She knows about your muggle cousins and how strict they are. I bet she would sign it for you herself, even."

But Y/N and Harry highly doubted that. They knew how strict Professor McGonagall was.

"Alright, I'll try asking her." Harry sighed. "I wouldn't be betting on it, though."

"Or actually, I don't mind staying behind." Y/N lied. "I could stay here with you if you want. We can go to Hagrid's and hang-"

"No, Y/N, I know how much you want to go to Hogsmeade. I'm fine alone." Harry said, moving a chess piece and motioning for Y/N to take her turn. Y/N slowly grinned and clapped her hands dramatically.

"AHA!" Y/N exclaimed, making her three friends jump. "CHECKMATE!"

The next day, the four Gryffindors have decided Harry would try to ask Professor McGonagall about the trip. They had just finished Transfiguration and waited for the other students to leave. Malfoy eyed them nosily, making Y/N shoo him away.

"Exit," she snapped, pointing towards the door. With Professor McGonagall near them, Malfoy had no choice but to leave. Ron high-fived her with a grin.

"Go on, Harry, ask her." Hermione ushered Harry impatiently. "I'm late for Runes! I meant, Arithmacny" Y/N whipped her head to Hermione and narrowed her eyes. Since when did Hermione take Arithmancy? And didn't they have Herbology as their last class? But she quickly shook her thoughts away and watched Harry approach Professor McGonagall nervously.

Y/N saw Professor McGonagall frown slightly when Harry asked her, muttering something back at him sternly.

"Welp," Ron muttered.

"Told you," Hermione said.

Harry walked back at them, looking slightly disappointed. Y/N put a comforting hand on his arm.

"Any use?" she asked him quietly. Harry shook his head grimly.

"No. I guess I'll have more time to finish my homework now." he said with a shrug, earning sympathetic looks from his three friends.

It was in the afternoon of Hallowe'en day. All the students from 3rd year to 7th year gathered at the courtyard for their Hogsmeade trip. Harry tried, once more, to persuade Professor McGonagall into signing his permission slip. Unfortunately, she did not change her mind.

"I'm sorry, Potter, but it's for your own good." the professor said in a low voice. Harry hesitated before nodding and turning back to the castle.

Someone grabbed his arm before he could leave.

"Harry, I can stay with you, if you want." Y/N repeated. "Besides, I have many more trips to look forward to."

"It's alright, Y/N, you go." Harry smiled weakly. "I can stay here alone for a few hours."

Y/N, Ron, and Hermione struggled to find something to say.

"We'll buy you all the sweets." Ron tried.

"And Zonko's top products." Y/N piped in. "I bet there will be-"

"Ahhh, looks like someone is staying behind." a voice sneered. Y/N whipped her head back to see a platinum haired boy and a group of big Slytherins cackling teasingly. Malfoy never missed a chance to make fun of Harry. Y/N ignored him and turned back to Harry.

"We'll be back soon, OK? Bye, Harry." she smiled at him quickly before pushing past Malfoy and the Slytherins.

"See you," Ron and Hermione said, ignoring Malfoy and his friends. The three Gryffindors handed Professor McGonagall their slips and walked down to the Hogwarts gate. The paths were swarming with chatting students and teachers. The path to Hogsmeade was longer than Y/N had thought. They had to walk up and then down a big hill and enter the back of the village.

As soon as they saw the snowy roofs of Hogsmeade, the three beamed at each other.

"Honeydukes, first." Ron quickly said with a grin. Hermione rolled her eyes.

"Fine, but only because it's the nearest shop." she muttered.

"Hey," Y/N squinted her eyes and pointed to an old looking house in the middle of a field near by. "Isn't that the most haunted house in Britain? The Shrieking Shack?"

"I'm not sure I want to her the answer to that." Ron said grimly. Y/N laughed and put her arms around her two friends.

"That's for another day." she chuckled. "Honeydukes we go."

The three walked and laughed passed the big crowd of students and entered the sweet-scented candy shop. Honeydukes was warm and already crowded. The walls of the shop were a bright aquamarine colour. The shelves were filled with different sweets.

"I think I want to get adopted by the shop owners." Ron breathed and looked around the shop amazed.

"Oh, don't be stupid." Hermione frowned. "You know the Ministry laws. It's not legal for a-"

"Hermione, just play along." Y/N said, jerking her head at Ron's fazed face.

After they filled their arms with sweets and candies for themselves and for Harry, they went to the counter and paid. The three felt their wallets get drastically lighter. Y/N's bag was filled to the brim by Exploding Bon Bons, Fizzing Whiz-bees, Peppermint Imps, Sugar Quills, and different chocolates. Ron, Y/N and Hermione walked out of the shop happily and into the chilly streets of Hogsmeade.

"This is all I've wanted in life and more." Ron said happily, licking an Acid Pop Happily. "Hey, did we get Harry one of these? It's really good."

"Yeah, we did." Hermione answered, checking Harry's candy bag. "We kind of brought him the whole shop." Y/N chuckled and waved at her Ravenclaw friends that were walking by.

"Do you want to go to The Three Broomsticks?" she asked Hermione and Ron. "It's right there, in front of us. Might as well get ourselves a butterbeer or two."

"Sure, let's go." Hermione shrugged.

"Yeah, it's getting cold." Ron added.

After grabbing three butterbeers at the bar, they chatted for a while at a table. Ron was staring dreamily at one of the ladies at the back of the bar. Y/N scoffed and Hermione made a disapproving sound.

"Madam Rosmerta." Hermione said grimly.

"What?" Ron asked blankly.

"That lady, her name is Madam Rosmerta." Y/N said grinning. Ron turned scarlet and sipped his butterbeer quickly.

The afternoon went by quite fast. The three Gryffindors visited Zonko's, Erin's, and several stationary stores. When it was time to go back, Y/N's arms were sore from holding the bags from the shops they've visited. They quickly walked back to the castle, avoiding Malfoy and his Slytherin friends. They walked into Great Hall to fins Harry sitting alone at the Gryffindor table. The feast was only starting.

Y/N dumped her Honeydukes bag onto Harry's lap happily. Harry thanked them gratefully before telling them about his day. Turns out, he has been talking to Professor Lupin. He told them about how Snape gave Lupin a mysterious potion.

"And Lupin drank it?" Ron exclaimed.

"Yes, he did." Harry replied. "I don't think Snape would be brave enough to poison Lupin in front of me."

"Good point." Hermione said. "But what could it be?"

"Maybe a potion for his health." Y/N suggested, earning nods from her friends. "He's been looking really tired... I wish we knew why, though."

"Well..." Hermione said slowly, thinking carefully. "I have my theories."

After finishing their dinner, the Quartet walked back to the Gryffindor common room, just to find the entrance blocked by a huge group of Gryffindor. They stood on their tip toes, but could not see what was going on. It seemed like their was a problem of getting into the common room.

"What's going on?" Harry asked.

"Neville's probably forgotten the password again." Ron shrugged.

"Hey!" Neville complained from behind them.

"Oh, sorry, Neville." Ron said shamefully. Percy, Ron's brother and Gryffindor Head Boy came rushing past the group, yelling through the curious students.

"Out of the way! I'm the Head Boy! Move out the way, Creevey." he pushed his way to the front and froze. Hermione grabbed Y/N's wrist and guided her to the front after Percy. The two girls let out a horrified gasp. The painting of The Fat Lady was torn open. The Fat Lady was gone.

"No! What happened?" Hermione asked frantically.

"The fat lady, she's gone!" Dean exclaimed, causing the students to mutter loudly. Y/N and Hermione looked at each other knowingly, before looking behind to see Professor Dumbledore and Filch walking through the crowd.

"Out of the way, everyone," Dumbledore said calmly. He came up front and stood beside Y/N and Hermione. He froze when he saw the empty portrait. Every Gryffindor fell silent. The Headmaster then turned to a painting near by of a man in a hat and asked, "The Fat Lady... do you know where she is, Perkins?"

"Yes, Professor." said the man in the painting. "In the painting of Africa, sir."

The whole group turned around to a painting of Africa across the hall. To their horror, they saw The Fat Lady hiding behind a rock, shivering frantically. She was sobbing and shaking in horror.

"The Fat Lady!" Dumbledore called. "Who attacked you?"

"P-P-Professor Dumbledore!" The Fat Lady squeaked. "I've been attacked! He came- with a knife! Threatening me!" Y/N looked at Hermione quickly.

"Who attacked you M'lady?" Dumbledore asked. The Fat Lady wailed and shook her head.

"It was him! The man they've all been talking about." she said. "Sirius Black!"

The hall erupted in low buzzes of mutters. Y/N's eyes widened as she looked back at Harry. He and Ron were pale in the face and looked as scared as she was. Filch yelped fearfully, but Dumbledore simply calmed everyone down.

"Everyone, calm down, it's alright." The Headmaster said, shushing them calmly. "Gather yourselves and join me in the Great Hall. You will be staying there for the night. Mr Filch, please inform the other Head of Houses. We need to search the castle."
