"Why so bummed now? You weren't upset back at the motel. What changed?" Jeongguk asked his younger brother who wore a face of bemusement.
"I don't know." Jungkook shrugged, having the window seat so he could stare out the window with his bummed look.
"Okay-"
"Part of me felt like maybe I would see him there. I get we're mad at him but I want some closure." Jungkook said even though Jeongguk was willing to not listen.
"Um, how exactly does that create closure? Closure only happens when we figure out why he left us. I didn't get closure out of seeing him; I got pissed. I still feel angry about it. What closure do you get just from seeing him? Nothing. No closure." Jeongguk rolled his eyes, refusing to look at his brother while his brother was looking back at him with a look of concern.
Jungkook listened closely, a frown on his lips. He knew Jeongguk was angry and he understood why.
"He even sounded like a jerk. He sounded like he was glad he was out of our lives." Jeongguk added. "Closure didn't come and wouldn't have."
Jungkook lied to Jeongguk. He knew too well that seeing someone wouldn't cause any closure. What Jungkook truly wanted was to talk to Taehyung. He wanted to ask him on a personal level why he left, he wanted a one-on-one talk but he wasn't sure on how Jeongguk would react if he said all that.
Jungkook believed that if he saw Taehyung, he could've planned for them to meet up sometime and really, really talk about it. He wanted know, he wanted to know first, he wanted to tell Jeongguk.
The whole ordeal was confusing and nerve racking but that only made Jungkook want to take it on more.
"Whatever. It just didn't bring me anything." Jeongguk pulled out a neck pillow and set it around his neck, leaning back. "We have a long flight ahead of us so let's just relax and not worry about him, 'kay? It's best if we ignore it. It's not like we'll ever see him again anyways."
Little did anyone know.
***
The flight had went smoothly, overall great. Jeongguk managed to get sleep and Jungkook stayed up and watched the sky and the clouds as it it faded in and out of different colors that varied from pinks and oranges to blues and purples.
The younger twin was awfully apologetic to Jeongguk but never actually vocalized how sorry he was. He was sorry for bringing up Taehyung again as a topic.
For people who wanted to avoid it as much as possible, they sure couldn't catch a break when it came to the said topic.
Moving on, they got off the plane, arriving back in Charlotte, North Carolina where they were finally able to go back to their shared penthouse.
They didn't talk too much between the time they had from the airport and all the way back to their living space. The only things really mentioned were how they personally felt during the whole trip to Korea and how jet lagged they currently both.
It wasn't much but they didn't have too much to actually talk about. They spent the entire trip together, they were both by each other's side for the most of it.
"When they come to America, are we only getting dinner?" Jungkook asked the moment they settled everything back to their rooms and everything was wrapping up, joining back into the main area where they would watch TV together.
"I mean, yeah?" Jeongguk said as if it were obvious. "Why? What else did you want to do?"
"Well, for some of them, it'll be their first times in America! Why not do more than just dinner? We could buy them something." Jungkook suggested, being totally seriously about it.
Jeongguk, on the other hand, thought it was a joke. He snickered, shaking his head. His soon short-lived giggles turned into wholehearted laughs.
This instantly made the younger feel degraded. He personally didn't believe his idea was bad yet he didn't understand by his twin was making it as if it were the funniest thing ever to be suggested.
"Buy them something? What on earth could we buy them? 'Welcome to America' banisters? How about an English literate book to top it off?"
"You done?" Jungkook asked, crossing his arms over his chest. He stood beside the couch as Jeongguk sat there, eating some strawberries. "Anyways, smart ass, I was just thinking of buying them things to remember their times here."
"Okay, now that you have that idea, why don't you think of a particular item to get for them because honestly, I'm drawing blanks." Jeongguk looked up at his slightly younger brother with a playful look. "Maybe we should get them 'Jeon Jeongguk' shirts with my number on the back."
"Part of me doesn't actually think you're joking about that."
"What if I'm not?"
"I wouldn't be surprised. None of them like football besides Yoongi and he doesn't even really pay much attention to it. What sense does it make?" Jungkook inquired, feeling like he wasn't being taken seriously but he didn't expect anything else besides this.
This might've made Jeongguk seem a bit ignorant and selfish but he truly wasn't, he just didn't see what Jungkook saw; the point of buying gifts.
"Well, I say we do it as a gift. It doesn't have to be the entire gift but it could be part of it. Like a joke! Maybe we could buy them tickets to one of my games and they can all wear the same shirt." Jeongguk stood up with his now empty bowl, walking to the kitchen with his brother following him.
"Americans would look them all dead in the face and ask if they were all related somehow." Jungkook said dully.
The ever so slightly older twin couldn't hold his chuckle after that remark knowing how true it was. Some stupid Americans think it's 'not racist' but assuming that Asians look alike and are related because of the shape of their eyes is pretty damn racist if you were to ask the Jeon Twins and the author.
"Just ignore them, if anything, tell them you're all related to me." Jeongguk said. "There's not much you can do. Lecturing and preaching about their ignorance won't actually solve anything."
"Anyways," the other moved on. "We can buy them little souvenirs to take back with them to Korea. Maybe get them bracelets?"
"What type of bracelets? Those little string ones with the beads?" Jeongguk asked.
". . . I was thinking sterling silver with maybe the letter of their name on it. Something over two dollars perhaps."
"Oh, you mean using actual money? Why not get them Gucci and Louis Vuitton belts too? Humble Suck sure would love that." Jeongguk meant that in a total joking way but Jungkook was actually pleased by that suggestion.
"I think we should certainly do that."
"Wait,"
"Too late, Gguk, you already said it. It's a good idea, too, now we can actually say you gave a damn."
"Until I tell them I was joking."
"It's not so much of a joke when it's already boughten and given to them."
"It'll be pretty damn funny when I take it back too to exchange it for my money back." Jeongguk said.
"Have a heart, you wouldn't dare do that. Especially when seeing Hoseok's face light up when he gets his hands on it." Jungkook teased.
Jeongguk rolled his eyes at the remark. "You say this like they're broke and can't afford shit for themselves. You know they have pretty good jobs too, right?"
"You could buy them a ramen cooker and they would be extremely pleased. As long as they don't buy it and we mean it, they will love it." Jungkook promised his brother, watching as he rinsed out his previously used bowl and put it on the drying rack.
"With that, we could just go out and buy them coloring books then."
"Gguk,"
"Fine."
"Thank you." Jungkook smiled pleasingly, seeing his brother give a rather bored look. "We can invite them back to the penthouse, throw on a movie, and eat junk food."
"Now I feel like you're just saying things to make me pissed off. We have to have a movie night?"
"What? Do you think dinner is the only thing they should do in America? That's pretty shitty. We went to three cities in Korea and all they get is dinner?" Jungkook cocked a brow, Jeongguk turning and facing his identical twin brother.
"We will plan another trip where we visit big cities too. New York City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Nashville, all of that."
"They're still coming over to watch a movie." Jungkook informed, hearing the other sigh in defeat.
