two years later
"Thank god you decided to finally answer. We got to go right now!" Jeongguk said panicked over the phone, voice rushed and fearful.
"Huh? Why? Go where?" Jungkook spoke back through the phone, clear confusion in his voice.
"Back to Korea," Answered Jeongguk.
The two-minute younger twin was so confused but he was pulling on his shoes as they spoke over the phone. He was just unsure why and what was wrong.
"Okay, now that I know where to, can I know why?" Jungkook asked, sounding awfully worried. Jeongguk usually never called for any importance so this was a turn.
"I-I don't know. Mom said she needed us now and that it couldn't wait. I'm fucking terrified, dude." Jeongguk replied. "But I'm on my way now to pick you up." He said since the two no longer lived together.
Jungkook had a moment of silence before he spoke back up. "I— Okay, hurry soon. I'll see you in a bit. Love you."
"Yeah, yeah, love you too." Jeongguk hung up, looking ahead to see the light was still red so he had a bit more time to be on his phone.
Within that time, he went to the next contact and called in. He pressed the phone back up to his ear, hearing it ring.
After about three rings, it was answered, a deep 'hello' going through.
"Hey, I convinced him." Jeongguk told. "I'm about to pick him up now. Is everyone there in Seoul?"
"Not yet. We're going to pick up Seokjin, Namjoon hyung, and their daughter." Taehyung replied.
"Hi, Jeongguk!" Hoseok's voice then shouted through the phone, making the twin wince silently, jerking his head from the phone's speaker.
"Hey," He said, his voice pretty emotionless when it came to greeting his hyung. "But get them on about the entire plan. Me and Kook should be back in Korea in about a day. Please make sure everyone is dressed and looks nice for tomorrow." Jeongguk said, not wanting to be greeted by a bunch of homeless men.
"Love how you tell me this like it's not my plan." Taehyung chuckled. "Trust me, I want the proposal to go accordingly too."
Jeongguk subconsciously smiled, loving how those words sounded. His brother was getting proposed to and he was stoked.
He pushed on the petal when the light turned green, beginning to drive.
"Yeah but if it goes wrong, it's both our asses." Jeongguk replied after a moment. He was getting closer to Jungkook's and Taehyung's shared home. "Did he ask you anything? About you leaving?"
"No, I just told him I wanted to visit my parents for the holidays." Taehyung replied. "He wanted to come with — which probably would've been easier that way now that I think of it — but I gave a good excuse."
"And the excuse was?" Jeongguk inquired, knowing it was probably a trash answer but he was prepared for a good laugh.
"I just told him it would be best for him to stay back and baby you. I told him I'd only be gone for three days so there's no need to come with."
"I'm a grown ass man, dude, I don't need to be babied." Jeongguk scoffed, his once precious smile falling flat, lips tautly together.
"Says the one who was literally crying when Kook moved out. Bawling I should say." Taehyung exposed.
"You cried?" Hoseok asked. "Loser!" He then insulted soon afterwards, his laughs ringing through the phone to Jeongguk's ears.
Jeongguk felt his cheeks grow warm of embarrassment. "Hello? Hello?" He uttered. "You're breaking up, I can't hear you." He made some poor static noises with his mouth, wanting to end the call now. "Tae? Hello?" Then he hung up without another word. He tossed his phone onto the passenger seat beside him.
This trip was either going to go super well or super poor. Jeongguk had his guesses but he opted on keeping them to himself.

"You walk super slow for this being as important as it is." Jungkook commented as he looked over his shoulder back at his brother who rolled his eyes.
"We got time to spare." Jeongguk remarked, not thinking much about his words. "The cab isn't even here yet. We can't rush outside and then rush the cab." He caught himself and made up for it before his brother could question any further.
Jungkook huffed. "I hope she's okay," He changed the topic but not too far from the original. "Why did she call you and not me though? I'm the more responsible one."
"Let's keep the insults to a bare minimum, 'kay?" Jeongguk side-glanced his brother who slowed down so they were side-by-side. "I don't know why she called me instead but she sounded hurried so I didn't question it."
"What exactly did she say?" Jungkook asked. "Was it a bad kind of hurry or good? What if it's about dad? What if we have a long lost triplet?"
Jeongguk gave a scowl, looking uncomfortable and bothered by the amount and types of questions his brother was pestering him with.
"I doubt there's a third of us but if you want to believe that, you go right ahead." Jeongguk told, shaking his head. He didn't know if this was such a good idea after all. Jungkook shouldn't be marrying anyone if this was his mindset.
"Okay but seriously," The younger said. "Did she sound okay?"
Jeongguk didn't have much planned on what to say which was shame on him. Jungkook was a talkative and nosy son-of-a-bitch. He should've known better.
Luckily and perfect timing, his phone went off, signaling their cab had arrived.
"Neat, cab's here." Jeongguk ignored the question and took hurried steps, walking towards where their cab was located. Jungkook followed closely behind, taking the same quickly-paced strides.
Jeongguk only cared about making it on time. There wasn't a set time but in his head there was. He couldn't wait to see this all happen and was probably the most excited person. Most excited besides Taehyung, of course, the guy proposing.
The men got into the cab, Jeongguk confirming the location in a soft tone but was sure to not make it obvious.
Luckily, Jungkook wasn't too focused on what his brother was saying, he was more worried about texting his boyfriend.
Jungkook:
Hey love, ik ur busy with ur
own family atm but me and
gguk just arrived in korea. Smth
happened with our mom and she
needed us. I'll see if I can see u soon.
Jungkook:
I love u
Jungkook sent it, rereading it to make sure it all sounded good and was informative. He was so good with communicating whenever he had the chance and it was so healthy for him and Taehyung.
They were honestly so happy and so in love. It was almost disgusting how romantic and cute they were but they were so perfect.
Jeongguk must've noticed it too.
"Ew," He gagged. "Can you and him not be cheesy for a second?" Jeongguk wondered, holding his hand by his mouth as if it were holding back vomit.
Jungkook rolled his eyes, jabbing his elbow into his brother's side. "Whatever. You wish you were this happy with someone."
"Why be that happy with someone when I'm that happy with football?" Jeongguk cocked a brow, waiting for a valid answer but all he got was a creeped out look from the other.
"Whatever you say, man." He shot his brows up for a moment before turning to look outside the window, watching the cars and people pass along as they drove. There was a light snow fall, just sprinkles of white ice fluttering in the sky.
Jungkook had noticed something ten minutes into the drive as he looked out the cab's window, a frown growing upon his features.
"Wait, we missed a turn?" He said, lips pursed as he was questioning, confused why they didn't make the right when they should've.
"Oh yeah, I have to pick something up first." Jeongguk said as if it were nothing.
This made Jungkook snap his gaze over, brows narrowed. "What do you mean pick up something? Doesn't mom need us? Quick?" He wondered.
"It's for mom, dumbass. Calm down, dude." Jeongguk rolled his eyes and played it off. He should've been an actor with how spot on his acting was.
"Name calling is so unnecessary." Jungkook uttered.
"Not when you act like a dumbass." Jeongguk replied wittily.
The younger sighed to himself and looked back out the window. He felt uneasy to say the least. Something didn't feel right to him and he was trying to keep that to himself.
He just prayed his mother was okay and well. The last thing he needed was for something to be wrong with her.
Jungkook also noticed his boyfriend wasn't texting him back and it bothered him. He didn't want to be that person but his head kept asking paranoid questions.
He hoped Taehyung wasn't going behind his back. He prayed to God that's not what was happening. If he was, Jungkook knew he wouldn't be able to give the man a third chance. It would be over then and there.
Jungkook would have to hear Jeongguk taunt him for the rest of his life and he wasn't ready for that.
Oh how Jungkook wished Taehyung wasn't with another person doing what he said he'd never do again.
Sooner or later, those horrid thoughts left his head when the cab made a stop. They were parked along a curb on a familiar street.
Both men left the vehicle after Jeongguk paid. Jeongguk seemed to have known where they were walking to but Jungkook hadn't had a clue on what was going on.
However, Jungkook did know the place they were in. It was faint in his head but he knew it.
Years ago, the group (including Leehyun) had went out to dinner and they were by the same restaurant where that took place in.
For those unaware, it was where Double Trouble had ended at.
Jungkook was conflicted but didn't question it. Instead, he followed his brother who was walking a bit too fast for his liking.
Jeongguk held the door and walked inside. Nothing much had changed about the interior of the restaurant. It was comforting and the déjà vu and nostalgia was euphoric.
The NFL player went towards the hostess stand and uttered something, something Jungkook didn't hear quite well but he was just seeing it from an outside point of view it felt like.
The host smiled and held up a single digit before taking a leave to go somewhere.
Jungkook just frowned. It was repetitive how much confusion he was expressing.
"Why are we here?" The unaware man asked, looking all around the place in confusion and a bit of awe.
"You are just so damn curious. Learn to shut up, 'kay?" Jeongguk forced a poorly made smile to his brother who scoffed. He had his phone hand, looking back towards it once he got the response from Jungkook.
The lady returned and motioned for the two men to follow her which they did just that.
They tailed behind her and made their way to a large circular table. The people at the table definitely didn't go unnoticed.
"Guys?" Jungkook couldn't describe the utter shock he was feeling. He was so lost and baffled by everything going on. Maybe it was the jet lag. "What is going on?" He cocked a brow, lips pursed and slightly parted.
He counted the men internally. There was five of them, not including Namjoon and Seokjin's beautiful adopted daughter.
Jungkook felt like he was counting wrong. The group was eight and if he counted him and Jeongguk, that only made seven.
So where was Taehyung?
A light feathery tap touched Jungkook's shoulder, as if on cue, making him jump a bit and look back.
There, he saw his boyfriend standing so prettily and dolled up. He looked so handsome and dressed in a hot manner.
Jungkook loved it when Taehyung wore button shirts and slacks, it always complimented him.
Before Jungkook could even get started on praising Taehyung, he hurriedly wrapped his arms around his boyfriend, squeezing him in his arms.
"I missed you!" Jungkook said. He wasn't even questioning anything anymore, he was just so in awe and happy to see everyone. Especially Taehyung.
He did question one thing though. It was the least he could do since no one else was answering him.
"Why didn't you text me back?" Jungkook pulled back from the hug, looking at his boyfriend with an expression of concern and worry.
Taehyung just smiled at him, taking one of Jungkook's hands into his own and holding it.
Everyone watched from behind, some even recording the special moment so it could be saved for later on.
Taehyung slowly dropped down onto one of his knees as he kept steady eye contact, still holding his hand.
"Jungkook," He began. "I can't express how much I love you. I love your smile, your laugh, the way your purse your lips when dumbfounded. I love the amount of love you give to everyone else. There's no one less I could imagine loving as much as I love you."
At that, Jeongguk cleared his throat, taking away from the sentimental moment for a mere second. Some light chuckles being shared.
Taehyung continued through that, wanting to propose to the love of his life.
"I'll never be able to express how happy I am you gave me a second chance. I couldn't be more thankful for you. I don't know what I did to deserve you but I'm glad I got you." Taehyung said, trying to hold back his tears.
Jungkook already had tears down his face, losing it the moment Taehyung had fell to his knee and the realization of what was going on hitting.
This was probably the last thing he expected. He didn't know what was going on but he was genuinely surprised he was being proposed to.
"Jungkook, I love you so much. And though you're a twin with the loser behind you and you guys are terrible, especially in twos, I know there's no one else I can see myself with. Doubled or not." Taehyung giggled, feeling his own warm tear slip down his cheek.
Taehyung pulled the box out of his pocket and opened it, revealing an engagement band. He held it out to his boyfriend, eyes only on the aforementioned standing before him.
"Will you marry me?"
