It was late. They've been home for two hours now and haven't spoken a word to each other.
Well, Jungkook hadn't bother even staying in the same room as Jeongguk and his twin hadn't quite noticed.
Not yet anyways.
"Yo, what can I make right now? Are you hungry for anything?" Jeongguk inquired as he walked into the kitchen, Jungkook sitting at the kitchen table with his phone in his hand. "I can make us some rice or-" he turned to ask his brother but realize Jungkook was walking away from him.
He squinted, letting out a sigh. "Is this really how we're going to act?" Jeongguk asked, chasing after Jungkook who was heading to his bedroom. "Just tell me if you want something to eat or not, I'll make you something to eat while you ignore me like a baby."
It was rich coming from Jeongguk on acting like a baby but Jungkook waltzed into his room, slamming the door behind him and even locking it so his twin wouldn't follow him there. He still refused to say anything more.
The whole act from earlier really got on Jungkook's nerves.
The ever so slightly older twin huffed, rolling his eyes and turning on his heels to head back downstairs. He wasn't going to pester someone who didn't want to talk to him.
It just wasn't his character.
***
Or so that was thought.
Jungkook groaned, turning on his side and picking up his phone to check the time. It was just barely ten in the morning, the light hues brushing softly off of the flawless skin that was Jungkook's pale cheek.
It caused his sleepiness to escape from his body, releasing another string of groans and grunts with the realization that he has to get up now since his body was already wide awake.
He pushed to sit up, bringing a balled fist to his eye, releasing a yawn. Jungkook swung his legs off of the side of the bed, picking himself up. He walked over to his closet, eyes taking in the fabrics.
The raven-haired adult didn't feel like looking 'nice' today. He rather look casual and take the day to relax. He had to get back to making his small skits and get them ready to be posted. He'd been slacking a bit since they've been traveling and taking time to hang with old friends.
Jungkook decided on a simple burgundy solid shirt with black joggers that weren't too tight on his thighs but not loose enough to be sweatpants.
He lazily slipped his feet into his slippers, stretching out his limbs to loosen up. His ears picked up the cracks his joints released into the quiet air.
The younger twin carried himself out of his room, not even thinking about the occurrence that took on last night with Taehyung and Jeongguk.
He was just starting his morning like he usually did.
As he wandered, a smell flooded his nostrils. It smelled savory and really good, causing Jungkook's stomach to release a grumble as on cue. He usually didn't eat breakfast because he typically didn't wake early enough. That, or he was busy with other things.
The smell took Jungkook down into the kitchen where he spotted his brother sitting at the table, two plates of food in front of him. The plates had eggs, bacon, and grits with a piece of toast on the side. Pepper and salt littered over the eggs and bacon perfectly.
"What's this?" Jungkook questioned, propping his hand on his hip as he slumped, brow cocked. He wasn't expecting breakfast to be made for him.
"Um, well," Jeongguk already knew he was going to stumble over his words. He pushed the chair back once he stood. "Well, I-I made brekkie." He shrugged some. "Since you d-didn't eat last night."
"What? What the fuck is 'brekkie'?" The younger had a smug smile playing his thin lips, tilting his head. He began to walk forward, standing right across from his brother.
The aforementioned became nervous, crossing his arms over his chest while red coated his cheeks with embarrassment. "Um, I heard it. It's a term for . . . For, uh, breakfast. Brekkie."
"Quite an interesting term, Gguk."
"I'm glad you're talking to me." Jeongguk cut straight in, looking up to meet his brother's gaze. "I know I was being dumb yesterday."
"I forgot I was ignoring you."
"Please don't ignore me."
Jungkook's smile had flattened at the mention of him talking to Jeongguk again, pursing his lips. He released a deep sigh, shaking his head. He pulled the chair back and slowly sat in the seat.
Jeongguk's wide and happy smile didn't go unnoticed, either. He quickly sat back down, pushing Jungkook's plate in front of him. He passed over the ketchup since Jungkook liked to put the said red condiment on his scrambled eggs. He remembered the little things.
The room was silent for a moment before the younger parted his lips, glancing upward to look at his brother. "I forgive you by the way. I know how horrible you are with apologies and how I somehow make it worse for you to say sorry."
"Oh, thank fuck." Jeongguk huffed. "I was hoping this was sorry enough for you." He added, picking up his fork and scooping up as much of the grits as he could using his said fork. "I mean, you're still a dumb ass but-"
"You're pushing it, Gguk. I'll go back to ignoring you real quick. It's not that hard." Jungkook gave a warning glare, straightening his shoulders.
The other nodded, not saying anything more before he decided to dig right into his food and eat. He didn't like cooking, hated it honestly, but for his brother who he wanted to silently apologize to, he would do it.
Jungkook let his eyes linger on Jeongguk for a bit longer. He could just see the look of happiness, the new vibes his twin brother gave off. This wasn't changing his mind, however.
Jungkook still wanted to try things with Taehyung. The dude spent money and flew out to America to talk to them. He had apologized, and he appeared to be sincerely sorry for his actions.
He could have said sorry over text or told Jimin to say it for him but he decided to actually visit him in person.
At least to the younger Jeon Twin he seemed sorry. Jungkook wasn't one to typically hold grudges. Unless it was towards their father.
He tried to get involved in their life many times after the first time he attempted to add himself back into their lives.
Jungkook just never understood and their father never had a good enough reason. He left them to have another kid with someone else.
There was no real sorry given from him. He didn't care. Jungkook believed he really didn't give two shits about his sons. Neither one of the twins were willing to give him a second chance.
A father shouldn't need to beg for a second chance after leaving his kids just because he wanted someone younger. It's a father's role to be there for his children and help them grow and teach them what's right and wrong.
But to hell with that man. Jungkook and Jeongguk grew up just fine without him and they'll do even better as long as he's out of their life. They don't need him. Mr. Jeon didn't need his sons back then, then so be it. The twins don't need their backstabbing, skank-chasing, two faced father crawling back to them. Not now, not ever.
"You good?" Jeongguk caught Jungkook's stare, making the other quickly look down. He forgot he was staring. His mind took him other places but regardless, he spoke.
"Um, if you don't want to make things better with Taehyung, that's fine," Jungkook began. "But I want you to know that with or without you, I'm going to try to be his friend again."
"What if he only wants to be our friend because we're successful and make money?"
"He doesn't know the first thing about football, Gguk." Jungkook debunked. "He's never cared for money, he's never used us for money, and he isn't athletic at all. I don't think he even knows what we do."
This made the elder huff, brushing his fingers through his black locks with annoyance. He tried not to be so salty about it but they were grown adults, they weren't tied to each other. If Jungkook really wanted to go out his way to be Taehyung's friend again, he could.
"Fine. Fucking fine, Kook. It's still a horrible idea. Don't expect me to be nice to him because he shed a few tears. I've cried too and he didn't care. He didn't know and I'm sure he doesn't want to know the first thing about how I felt." Jeongguk pointed out. He had cried some nights because Taehyung had left them, he's cried many times just over that situation itself.
"I only expect your smart-mouthed replies and sarcastic comments with bullshit nicknames." The animator said, trying to lighten it up even though the readers all knew Jeongguk was the king of being a smart ass. His witty remarks never failed to entertain whoever was around.
