๐๐๐๐๐๐-๐๐๐: Sidney's Woes
โโโโโโโโ ๐ โโโโโโโโ
Sidney Prescott was in total darkness, she searched the wall for a light switch as the door knob turns, the lock holds as the door is nearly shaken from its hinges. It goes silent, only Sidney's rapid breathing fills the space around her as she trembles, reaching above herself she finds a string and pulls it, a lightbulb flickering to life overhead. She's in a small box of a room, the door is on one side, a small narrow staircase on the other side and she eyes the door knob, then the staircase, contemplating; but it's an easy decision, there's no fucking way she's going up into the attic. She unlocks the door and pushes on it but it won't give, she pushes again but its locked on the other side.
Sidney turns to the staircase and heads into the attic, anxiously. The attic is long and narrow, cluttered with furniture, boxes and the likes as moonlight filters in through a small raised window on the front wall of the house. She moves through the attic constantly bumping into random items, she swallows hard as she spots the raised window above her, a way out; if only she could reach it. She stacks object after object to building a ladder to the window, she climvs to the top, holding on to the window frame. She spots Gale Weathers immediately, she screams out, looking for the window latch but there isn't one.
Gale, hanging tough, approaches the front door, unable to hear Sidney's screams three floors up. Gale reaches for the door just as she hears loud, horrible shrieks from just inside; she backs away before racing across the yard putting distance between her and the house. Her mind racing from the information she had gotten from the missing Dewey about Neil Prescott's phone call history and the hidden car down the street along with the day being the one year anniversary of Maureen Prescott's death leading to the signs all pointing at a mentally broken and disturbed man being responsible for the Ghostface murders.
Sidney -- who found an old tennis racket -- swings the item at the window causing glass to spray everywhere. She moves quickly, lifting herself up over broken glass and pulled herself through the window frame onto the side of the house. She looks around for Gale, screaming for her, but Gale is gone leaving Sidney to save herself. She lowers herself down the ledge, sliding down a sloped portion of the roof onto the Master Bedroom's balcony. And then she eases herself over the railing and lowers herself, hanging as low as she can, then she let's go, free-falling the rest of the way; but in a split instant, Ghostface appears grabbing her wrist in midair.
Sidney's body hangs, dangling against the side of the house and Ghostface begins to lift her, pulling her back onto the balcony. Sidney jerks, pulls, twists, but the hands have her, hoisting her up as she screams madly, yanking one last time, freeing herself from Ghostface's hold. She drops to the ground -- a good seven feet -- landing on her back, hitting hard enough to wind herself. She grabs at her pained leg and brings it upright. Chaos ensues for Sidney as she attempts to get a frantic Gale's attention as the older woman panics at the sight of her dead camera man sliding off of the roof.
Gale swerves to avoid the panicked Sidney resulting in the van to veer of the road at top speed, flipping over on its side and sliding off into the thick foliage. Sidney races to where the van lay on its side, she peers through the windshield to see Gale's body limp and bloody causing the young adult to cry out. She turned away, limping to the driveway where she sees the patrol jeep with it's door open, she goes for it. Sidney hops in, reaches for the ignition to find no keys. She turns her eyes to the front porch, she watches the front door open and a figure appears in the darkness.
Sidney turns on the headlights of the jeep, illuminating the front side of the house to reveal Dewey as the figure in the doorway. "Dewey!" Sidney exclaimed before she opened the jeep door, moving towards him brfore noticing his body was slumped, knees buckled; And then his body falls forward, slowly, deliberately hitting the porch hard to reveal Ghostface standing behind him. "Noooooo!" Sidney screams from the bottom of her soul, she jumps back into the jeep, closing the door and locking it. She reaches over and locks the passenger side door and then she simply waits, uncertain on her next move.
She watches as Ghostface leans over Dewey's unmoving body, fumbling with something causing her brows to furrow. And then the killer stands upright, in his hand he holds the keys to the jeep, they jingle in the wind, the killer toying with her as they clearly enjoyed this. Ghostface approaches the car with the keys, the two bounce back and forth with him attempting to unlock the doors while Sidney held the locks in place preventing the killer from getting inside the jeep. Sidney eyes the police radio before grabbing the mouthpiece and hitting the switch, "Help! Please! I'm at Stu Macher's house on Turner Lane! Please, HE'S GONNA KILL ME!"
Sidney had been so focused on the police radio that she hadn't noticed Ghostface unlocking the tailgate door of the jeep, he slowly crawls in behind her before he reached out and grabs a hold of Sidney's neck. Sidney, with surprising strength, spins around and attacks Ghostface. She falls back against the dash, legs out, kicking wildly at him as her hand reaches for the door, finding the lock and door lever, she pulls and the door swings open allowing her to fall out of the door, hitting the ground. Sidney, on her stomach, squirms away from the keep. She brings herself up to her hands and knees, looking behind her to see Ghostface had disappeared.
Sidney gets up and rushes towards the door, she thinks quickly and reaches to Dewey's holster and grabs his gun when a voice appeared behind her. "Sidney!" She turned around to see Billy limping towards her, blood coated his white shirt and his face appeared to be in pain as he held his hand to his stomach. "Billy? What happened?" Sidney asked, she held the gun in her grip ready to raise in case she needed to. "I was helping Stu... clean up and this... killer came out of nowhere..." Billy stammered out, his eyes wet with tears, "I... I don't understand why this is happening." Sidney's hardened stare softened at Billy's fearful eyes.
"We can't stay out here," Sidney told him before motioning for him to follow her, they both headed into the house, closing the door behind them. Billy used the door to lean against it, he took in shallow breaths as Sidney looked around cautiously to see if there was anyone else left. She's startled by the phone ringing, she yanks the receiver up, "Help!! Please, help me!" However, the one who responded was not who she wished to hear from. "Having fun Sidney?" Ghostface asked through the phone, she turned to look at Billy as steps echoed from the stairs. Both of them looked up to see Joel stumbling before he fell down the stairs, Sidney dropping the phone to rush to him.
"Oh God, Joel!" Sidney exclaimed as she helped him up from the ground, Billy watching the two of them. "I thought you were..." Sidney trailed off as Joel grabbed her hand in reassurance. "I'm alright. Gotta... get... help," Joel said as he looked up to see Billy, his eyes narrowing at him. "He's out there," Sidney told Joel. "We gotta get to my car," Joel replied to her, his breathing was heavy as blood stained his clothes, dripping onto the floor. "Okay, your car. Sid, give me the gun," Billy said, his free hand outstretched to her, she hands over the gun. "Wait..." Joel trailed off as Billy smirked sadistically, "You've gone mad!"
"We all go a little mad sometimes," Billy quoted before he aimed the gun at Joel and pulled the trigger, the bullet hitting his heart sending him against the wall before sliding to a heap on the floor, dead. "Anthony Perkins -- Psycho," Billy said before turning to Sidney who stands only feet away, face aghast. Billy sticks his tongue out and slowly licks the blood dried to his face, tasting it, "Corn syrup. Same stuff they used for pig's blood in Carrie." Sidney is dumbfounded by this, she slowly takes a step back, moving into the dark refines of the kitchen. Billy lurches out in a fake-out, baiting her and she takes a step back, petrified.
Sidney, fearful of the person she once knew and loved, stepped back further only to bump into another figure. She spins around, her mouth open in speechless horror, "Stu... please... help me..." Stu stares back at her, eyes wide, lips curled in a subtle smile as he holds a small compact voice changer up to his face, "Surprise, Sidney!" Sidney looks back to Billy, then to Stu, then to Billy again and it all becomes clear to her. She stands between them, her mind racing, calculating before she bolts into the kitchen; If for no other reason than to put space between her and them, they stand in the entryway, trapping her in.
"Where ya going? It's not over yet. We've got one more surprise -- Stu, I believe it's your turn," Billy said, Stu grinning before exclaiming, "I'll be right back!" He disappears around the corner as Billy locked gazes with Sidney lifting the voice changer to his lips, "What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost!" A noise comes from the foyer, a low dragging sound before Stu appears from the front hall wrestling with something. Sidney's eyes widen upon the sight of her father bound and gagged, his eyes wide with fear, very much alive. "Daddy!" Sidney exclaimed, she moved forward only for Billy to stop her.
"Close enough!" Billy told her, he watched her closely as Stu placed the cellular phone in Mr Prescott's shirt pocket. "Guess, I won't be needing this anymore," Stu commented as he did so. "Why are you doing this?" Sidney asked them tearfully. "It's all part of the game," Stu answered her with a wide grin. "It's called Guess how I'm going to die!" Billy exclaimed loudly with a sinister smile on his face. "Fuck you!" Sidney snapped at him. "You already played that... with Joel, remember?" Billy teased mockingly. "You have to play, Sid. Don't want to disappoint your dad, he's been waiting around all night," Stu expressed to her.
"It's an easy game. We ask you a question, if you get it wrong -- you die!" Billy told her, he and Stu had her cornered in the kitchen with Billy holding the gun and Stu keeping close to Neil. "And if you get it right -- you die!" Stu exclaimed with a grin. "You're crazy -- both of you!" Sidney sneered at them loudly. "The official time is Psychotic," Stu corrected. "You'll never get away with this!" Sidney shouted at them. "Tell that to Cotton Weary. You wouldn't believe how easy it was to frame him," Billy replied to her with his mad smirk, his eyes alight with crazed hunger. "Yeah, we just watched a few movies. Took a few notes. It was fun," Stu added.
Billy and Stu relish their madness, proud of themselves. Sidney looks to her dad and sees the tears in his eyes, she looks back to Billy, unflinching, a determined look on her face. "Why did you kill my mother?" Sidney asked him. "Why? WHY? Did you hear that, Stu? I think she wants a motive," Billy expressed with a hum, "I don't really believe in motives, Sid. I mean, did Norman Bates have a motive?" Stu plays along shaking his head, "Nope." Sidney looks between them before looking back at Billy as he spoke, "And did they really ever explain why Hannibal Lector liked to eat people? Don't think so. You see, it's scarier when there's no motive, Sid."
"I don't understand..." Sidney replied, fighting back her tears. "We did your mom a favour, Sid. The woman was a slut bag whore who flashed her shit all over town like she was Sharon Stone or something," Billy expressed openly to Sidney. "...So we put her out of her misery. I mean, let's face it, your mom was no Sharon Stone," Stu continued with a laugh while Billy turns completely serious, "Is this motive enough for you? Or how about this? Did you know your slut mother was sleeping with my dad and she's the reason my mom moved out and deserted me." A sudden silence ensued, Sidney was rigid with shock, his words resonant with the truth; Even Stu was surprised.
"Think about it. On the off chance I get caught -- a motive like that could divide a jury for years, don't you think?" Billy asked as he leaned forward slightly, "You took my mother, so I took yours. Big sympathy factor; Maternal abandonment causes serious deviant behaviour. It certainly fucked you up, you couldn't have sex with anyone but your best friends boyfriend." Sidney lowered her head at those words, she swallowed carefully as Stu spoke up, "That's right... and now you're no longer a virgin. You gotta die -- those are the rules." They stay silent as a new masked figure slowly approaches, amused and intrigued by everything they witnessed.
