The camera cuts to the cozy, slightly cluttered apartment of the host. It's warm and inviting, decorated with little trinkets and personal touches that make it feel more like a friend's living room than a formal set. Youngji, dressed comfortably in an oversized sweater and jeans, paces around the room, occasionally adjusting things on the table and glancing at her phone.
She turns to the camera with a mix of excitement and slight disbelief.
"Okay, I'm going to be honest. I don't know how I managed to pull this off," she says, shaking her head dramatically. "Today, I have a duo joining me. That's right-a duo. I can barely handle one guest at a time, and now I have two."
She pauses for effect, then smirks.
"But here's the funny part: they've both technically been on this show before. Well, one of them was actually invited. The other?" She crosses her arms and raises an eyebrow. "He just showed up with his friends like it was a house party."
She rolls her eyes, though there's a playful grin on her face.
"As if my life isn't chaotic enough, I now have to prepare for them."
Just as she's about to continue, the doorbell rings.
Her eyes widen. "No way."
She turns to the staff behind the camera, panic creeping into her voice. "That can't be them already, right? I swear we had at least-" She glances at her watch and freezes. "...oh. Oh no. They're early."
The staff chuckles as she suddenly shifts into full panic mode, scanning the room as if seeing it for the first time.
"Wait, did we clean everything? Is the food out? Where's my-oh my gosh, why am I sweating?" She dramatically fans herself before patting down her sweater. "Okay, okay, just act natural. Be cool."
She takes a deep breath and moves toward the door, mumbling, "I swear, if they brought their entourage again..."
With one final deep breath, she opens the door.
Standing there, beaming like they just won the lottery, are Jade and Mingyu. They bow slightly toward the camera, looking effortlessly stylish despite the casual setting.
Mingyu, ever the gentleman, holds Jade's bag in one hand and a massive, ribbon-covered gift bag in the other. Jade, meanwhile, strolls in completely empty-handed, looking relaxed and happy.
"Surprise!" Jade grins, stepping inside with Mingyu right behind her.
Youngji blinks, taking in the sight of Mingyu struggling with the sheer size of the gift bag while Jade waltzes in freely. She points at Jade's empty hands.
"You... didn't bring anything?"
Jade gasps dramatically. "Excuse me, I brought my presence. That's the most valuable gift of all."
Mingyu lets out a laugh, shaking his head. "She means I brought everything."
Youngji stares at him, unimpressed but amused. "Of course. Why am I not surprised?"
Jade giggles before gesturing to the gift bag. "Actually, we did bring gifts! And when Jisoo unnie heard I was coming, she insisted on sending something for you too."
Youngji eyes widen in delight. "Jisoo sent gifts?"
Mingyu nods, adjusting the bag in his hand. "Yeah, she said something about how she trusts us but doesn't fully trust us to bring good gifts, so she handled it herself."
Youngji bursts into laughter. "That sounds exactly like Jisoo."
Jade crosses her arms, pretending to be offended. "Excuse me? I am excellent at giving gifts."
Mingyu raises an eyebrow at her. "Really? What did you get her?"
Jade pauses, then slowly turns to the host. "Uh... my presence?"
The room erupts into laughter as Youngji playfully pushes her toward the couch. "Sit down before I make you carry your own bag."
Jade dramatically collapses onto the couch, sighing. "This is an attack."
Mingyu, still holding the massive gift bag, gestures to it. "So, should I hand this over now, or do we do an official presentation?"
The host laughs. "Let me process the fact that you two are actually here first." She then gestures to the seats. "Sit down, get comfortable. We have a lot to talk about."
Mingyu finally sets down the gift bag with a relieved sigh. "I think my arm almost fell off."
Jade smirks. "See? This is why you carried it."
Mingyu shakes his head, plopping down onto the couch next to her. "You see how she treats me?"
Youngji shakes her head, already knowing this episode is going to be pure chaos.
"And to think, I willingly invited you both."
The camera zooms in on her face as she sighs dramatically, and with that, the episode officially begins.
As soon as they settle into their seats, Youngji leans forward with a mischievous grin, eyeing both of her guests. "Alright, let's start with a drink."
Mingyu blinks, caught off guard. "Already?"
Jade, on the other hand, looks like she's experiencing war flashbacks. She stares at Youngji like she's just been sentenced to a mission she wasn't prepared for.
"Of course," Youngji continues, grabbing a bottle of soju and pouring three shots. "This is Not Much Prepared! What did you expect? Tea and cookies?"
Jade side-eyes Mingyu, then slowly turns to Youngji. "Actually, tea would be nice."
Youngji ignores her, sliding a shot glass in front of each of them. "Here we go."
Jade bites her lip, then suddenly perks up. "Oh, actually, I can't drink today." She gestures toward Mingyu with a confident nod. "Mingyu will drink for me since I'm driving."
Mingyu turns to her, confused. "You're what?"
Jade crosses her arms. "I drove here."
Mingyu narrows his eyes. "No, you didn't."
She pauses. "...I could have driven here."
Mingyu lets out a small laugh, shaking his head. "Ri, my manager drove us here."
Jade blinks. The realization sinks in, and she slumps in defeat. "Oh."
Youngji snorts, pouring another shot just in case. "Nice try, though."
Jade sighs before rolling her shoulders. "Fine, I'll drink." She looks at Youngji with mock determination. "But just know, if I say anything embarrassing, I'm blaming you."
Youngji beams. "That's the spirit!"
The three of them clink their glasses together, and in one smooth motion, they take their shots.
Jade's face immediately scrunches up, eyes squeezing shut as the alcohol burns down her throat. She exhales sharply, shaking her head. "Oh my gosh."
Mingyu, meanwhile, doesn't even flinch. He sets his glass down as if he just drank water.
Youngji catches this and smirks. "Oh, you're fine?"
Mingyu nods. "Yeah, that was-"
"Then drink another."
Mingyu freezes. "Huh?"
Youngji is already pouring him another shot, her smirk widening. "If you're fine, you can drink more, right?"
Jade immediately perks up, watching the interaction with delight. "Ohhh, she got you there."
Mingyu hesitates before nodding, but then his own mischievous grin appears. "Fine. But only if you drink with me."
Youngji gasps dramatically. "Me?!"
"You said you're a drinking queen, right?" Mingyu teases.
Youngji squares her shoulders. "I am!"
Jade claps her hands excitedly. "Yes! This is what I came here to see."
The staff behind the camera starts laughing as Youngji pours herself another shot, locking eyes with Mingyu like they're about to enter a battle.
Jade, now fully invested in their drinking showdown, leans back with a satisfied sigh. But after a moment, she starts shifting in her seat, glancing around the table.
Youngji notices and raises an eyebrow. "What are you looking for?"
Jade keeps scanning the area. "My bag..."
Mingyu, without even looking, reaches under the table, grabs Jade's claw clip from her purse, and hands it to her like it's the most natural thing in the world.
"There," he says casually.
Jade takes it with a big smile. "Thanks, babe." She clips her hair up quickly, securing it in place.
Youngji watches the entire exchange with a blank expression before slowly turning to the camera with the most disgusted look.
The staff bursts into laughter.
Jade, realizing what just happened, starts giggling. "Why do you look like that?"
Youngji dramatically clutches her chest. "Did you see that?" She points at Mingyu. "Did you see how smoothly he did that?!"
Mingyu looks confused. "What? She always clips her hair up when she drinks. It bothers her otherwise."
Youngji gasps, standing up slightly. "NO. STOP. I CAN'T."
Jade and Mingyu both burst into laughter, while the staff behind the camera cackles.
"Why are you reacting like this?" Jade wheezes.
Youngji shakes her head furiously. "It's just so-ugh!" She shivers dramatically. "It's so boyfriend-y! Like, gross. What is this, a K-drama?"
Mingyu shrugs, taking another sip of his drink. "We've been together for years. I just know these things."
Jade grins, adjusting her claw clip. "See? He pays attention."
Youngji leans back, pretending to wipe fake tears from her eyes. "This is sick."
Mingyu laughs. "Then should I hold her hair back for her too?"
Youngji groans loudly, covering her face. "GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!"
Jade is practically crying from laughter at this point, clutching her stomach. "We just got here!"
Youngji throws her hands up. "I don't care! I wasn't mentally prepared for this level of couple behavior." She points at Mingyu. "You, sir, are banned from doing any more cute boyfriend things in front of me."
Mingyu raises his hands in surrender. "Alright, alright." He pauses before smirking. "What if I just-"
Before he can even move, Youngji is already reaching for something to throw at him. "TRY ME."
Jade collapses onto the couch, wheezing. "This is the best episode already."
Youngji sighs, shaking her head as she downs another shot. "You guys are dangerous."
Mingyu grins. "To be fair, you were the one who invited us."
Youngji dramatically groans. "Worst. Decision. Of my life."
As the laughter dies down, Youngji leans forward, propping her chin on her hands with a curious expression. "Wait... is this the first time you two have appeared on a show together as a couple?"
Mingyu nods without hesitation. "Yeah, this is the first time."
Youngji's jaw drops. "What?!" She looks between them in disbelief. "You guys have been public for nearly two years, and you're only now going on a show together?"
Jade laughs, tilting her head toward Mingyu. "See? Even Youngji thinks we took too long."
Mingyu just shrugs, grinning. "It's not like we planned it this way."
Youngji crosses her arms. "No, no, I need an explanation. What's the hold-up? What took you guys so long?"
Jade shifts in her seat, fiddling with the edge of her sleeve before admitting, "Honestly, it's because I get shy when people ask about our relationship."
Youngji lets out a dramatic gasp. "You? Shy?"
Jade nods. "Yes! It's embarrassing!"
Mingyu laughs, clearly enjoying this. "She refuses to do couple interviews. The only reason we're here is because she said Youngji makes her feel comfortable."
Youngji puts a hand on her chest, feigning deep emotion. "Wow... honored." Then she smirks. "But also slightly offended it took you two years."
Jade laughs. "I just wanted to be in a comfortable and fun environment when talking about us, you know? And your show is perfect for that."
Youngji sits back with a satisfied nod. "Okay, fair point." She suddenly perks up. "Oh! Speaking of which, I watched the award show where Mingyu first talked about your relationship." She narrows her eyes at him. "I screamed at my TV when I heard it."
Mingyu chuckles. "Really?"
Youngji nods furiously. "I swear, my neighbors probably thought I was being attacked. One minute I was eating chicken, minding my own business, and then BAM! Mingyu casually confirms he's dating Jade in the middle of his speech." She turns to Jade. "I nearly threw my food."
Jade laughs, covering her face. "I was expecting it but wasn't expecting at the same time! I had a show that day aswell and was watching from the waiting room, and when I heard my name, and I just-" She shakes her head. "I wanted to disappear. All I thought was how am I going to perform in front of thousands of people after this."
Mingyu grins. "You should've seen her reaction that night. We went out for dinner after and she just stayed quiet, that was my most peaceful dinner ever."
Youngji throws her hands up. "How could you not freeze?! It was like a K-drama confession scene except real life! And then-" She gasps again. "I saw the clip from BLACKPINK's concert where you finally talked about it, and I was like-" She dramatically clutches her chest. "Oh my gosh, they're so cute, I'm gonna cry."
Jade groans, already anticipating where this is going. "Don't say it."
Youngji smirks. "A lot of idols cried that day."
Mingyu raises a skeptical eyebrow, his expression full of doubt. "I didn't see a single tear."
Jade bursts into laughter, nearly falling over. "Mingyu!"
Youngji also laughs but waves him off. "No, listen, people were emotional! Your love story is like a fairytale-"
Mingyu snorts. "Fairytale?" He points at Jade. "You mean this one? The same girl who spills everything she eats?"
Jade gasps, shoving his arm. "I do not!"
Youngji cackles. "Wait, wait, are you messy when you eat?"
Mingyu nods immediately. "She thinks she's neat, but at least once per meal, something drops."
Jade shakes her head, offended. "That is not true."
Mingyu pulls out his phone. "Want me to show you the evidence?"
Youngji jumps up. "YES! SHOW ME!"
Jade quickly grabs his wrist to stop him. "No! We're not turning this into a slander session!"
Youngji groans, but she's still grinning. "Fine. But still, idols did cry that day, whether Mingyu believes it or not." She points at him. "And you need to drink more because you've been too focused on being annoying."
Mingyu laughs but obediently picks up his shot glass. "Alright, alright."
Youngji nods in approval and then turns to Jade. "And you-since you get shy about your relationship, I say we drink until you're no longer shy."
Jade groans dramatically, but she's already reaching for her glass. "Why do I feel like I'm being trapped?"
Youngji smirks. "Because you are."
As the drinks start to settle in and the laughter continues, Jade suddenly sits up straighter, eyes gleaming with mischief. "Wait. I have an idea."
Mingyu turns to her immediately, fully invested. "What is it?"
Youngji, on the other hand, looks wary. "Why do I feel like I'm about to regret this?"
Jade grins. "Let's mix all the alcohol together in a big bowl and drink it."
The room goes silent for a second.
Youngji slowly turns to look at her, pure horror on her face, as if Jade just suggested they set the apartment on fire. "Excuse me?"
Jade bursts into laughter. "What? It's something I just came up with!"
Youngji's face remains unchanged. "And you think that makes it better?"
Mingyu, ever the supportive boyfriend, nods immediately. "I think it's a great idea."
Youngji glares at him. "Of course you do." She makes a disgusted face again, causing the staff to laugh. "You're a lost cause. Both of you."
Jade leans into Mingyu with a smug smile. "See? My ideas are great."
Youngji rolls her eyes. "You know what? Just because of you two, we're doing it." She points at them dramatically. "And you both will be getting a special cup from this disaster mix. If you do anything cute, you have to drink from it."
Mingyu nods, completely unbothered. "Okay, but if Aeri gets too drunk, I'll drink for her."
Youngji blinks at him. "There was absolutely no need for you to say that."
Jade bursts into laughter. "He's just getting ahead of himself."
Youngji shakes her head but still pours them another shot. "Drink."
They both down their shots without hesitation before getting up to help Youngji with her ridiculous plan.
Mingyu picks up a bottle of soju and pours it into the bowl, while Jade dumps in some beer. Youngji watches them, arms crossed. "I feel like I'm witnessing a crime in progress."
Mingyu shrugs. "You did agree to it."
Youngji sighs. "I should've made you sign a contract first."
Jade claps her hands together. "Done!"
They all stare at the bowl, filled with a chaotic mixture of alcohol.
Youngji shakes her head. "This is a mistake." Then she turns to Mingyu, giving him a once-over. "But honestly, I see why Jade is putting up with your nonsense. You're kind of a true gentleman."
Mingyu flashes a proud grin. "Thank you."
Jade nods in agreement. "He's also hot."
Youngji gives her a deadpan stare. "Okay, calm down."
Jade ignores her, turning to the camera. "No, but seriously, his muscles? Amazing. He works out, and it shows." She gestures at Mingyu dramatically.
Mingyu chuckles, rubbing the back of his neck. "You're embarrassing me."
Youngji groans loudly, cutting them off by shoving a shot glass into each of their hands. "No. I refuse. Take a shot now."
The staff erupts into laughter as Jade and Mingyu obediently take the shot.
Youngji squints at Jade. "Are you going out later?"
Jade shakes her head. "No, why?"
Youngji narrows her eyes further. "Because it feels like you two are being cute on purpose so you can drink more."
The staff laughs even louder, and Jade leans on Mingyu for support as she giggles uncontrollably. "What? Nooo."
Mingyu, ever so helpful, adds, "But if we were, would that be a problem?"
Youngji groans, dramatically throwing her head back. "Why did I even invite a couple if I wasn't ready for this?!"
Mingyu grins. "That's what I've been wondering too."
The chaos continues, with Youngji regretting her life choices more and more as the night goes on.
As the drinks settle in, Youngji suddenly sits up straight, eyes widening like she just remembered something important. "Wait a minute."
Jade and Mingyu both turn to her in curiosity. "What?"
Youngji leans forward dramatically. "Do you guys... live together?"
Jade nods without hesitation. "Yeah, we do."
Youngji gasps, clutching her chest. "Since when?"
Jade laughs at her reaction. "Well, we used to live in Hannam-dong, but we recently moved to the house we bought in UN Village."
Youngji's mouth drops open. "You- YOU LIVE IN UN VILLAGE?!"
Mingyu, amused, nods. "Yeah?"
Youngji stares at them like she's just discovered they secretly own a private island. "Oh, you guys are rich rich."
Jade bursts into laughter, covering her mouth. "I mean... yeah?"
Youngji shakes her head in disbelief. "I knew you two were successful, but UN Village? Wow." She points at them, then at herself. "You must give me a house tour one day."
Jade grins. "We'll think about it."
Mingyu, ever the polite one, nods. "You're welcome to visit anytime."
Youngji claps her hands together. "I will hold you to that."
She then squints at them suspiciously. "Is it just you two living there?"
Mingyu nods. "Most of the time, yeah. But sometimes Aeri's sister, Asa, stays with us when she doesn't have schedules. And if I have a comeback with Seventeen, then it's just Ri by herself."
Youngji looks at Jade in horror. "You stay in that big house alone? Aren't you scared?"
Jade shakes her head nonchalantly. "Not really."
Youngji narrows her eyes. "Why?"
Jade shrugs with a smirk. "Because I'm barely even home."
The entire room erupts into laughter.
Mingyu sighs dramatically. "That's true."
Jade leans forward, resting her chin on her hand. "This year has been crazy. I spent the first three months filming overseas, and then the past five months promoting my drama Lovely Runner and my album."
Youngji's eyes widen. "Wait. You're telling me that for the past eight months, you've just been running around the world?"
Jade nods. "Basically."
Youngji looks at Mingyu. "And you're okay with that?"
Mingyu laughs. "I mean we both have busy schedules so we support each, and do I really have a choice?"
Jade smirks. "No, you don't."
Youngji shakes her head in disbelief. "So you guys barely see each other?"
Mingyu nods. "Sometimes, yeah. But if one of us has no schedule, we try to support the other by showing up to their schedules."
Jade grins. "He's the best cheerleader."
Youngji squints at him. "You're really that whipped, huh?"
Mingyu shrugs. "Absolutely."
Jade bursts into laughter. "At least he admits it."
Youngji groans, rubbing her temples. "You guys are so cute it's disgusting."
Jade and Mingyu exchange amused glances before Jade reaches for her drink. "Then let's drink to that."
Youngji sighs, raising her glass. "At this rate, I need it."
The three of them clink their glasses, the room filled with laughter and chaos once again.
As the conversation begins to wind down, Youngji leans forward with a mischievous smile, tapping her fingers on the table. "Alright, before we wrap up, I have to ask this question for the fans."
Jade and Mingyu immediately exchange a glance wide-eyed, alarmed, as if she just told them they were about to be interrogated by the FBI.
"Why do you look scared?!" Youngji bursts into laughter, pointing at their expressions. "I swear it's not that bad."
Mingyu relaxes slightly, still looking a bit suspicious. "Are you sure?"
Jade raises an eyebrow. "Because the way you said that makes it seem very bad."
Youngji waves a dismissive hand. "No, no, it's just a simple question." She leans in, eyes twinkling. "Is marriage in the picture?"
The room goes silent. The staff collectively holds their breath.
Mingyu doesn't hesitate for even a second. He breaks into a soft smile and answers immediately, "Of course it is."
Youngji blinks, surprised by how quickly he responded. "Oh! That was fast."
Mingyu nods. "It's something we've talked about, and we'll do it when the time is right."
Jade hums in agreement. "To be honest, we already have the whole day planned down to the last second. So, we could do it whenever we want."
Youngji gasps, her eyes widening dramatically. "WAIT. WHAT?!"
Jade smirks, sipping her drink casually.
Mingyu just shrugs like it's the most normal thing in the world. "Yeah. We know exactly how we want everything to go."
Youngji leans forward, completely invested. "Okay, okay, okay. But is it happening this year?"
The couple exchange a look again before turning back to her with matching teasing smiles.
Youngji groans, throwing her head back. "AHH! You guys are impossible!"
Jade giggles, nudging Mingyu. "She really thought she was gonna get an answer."
Mingyu sighs dramatically. "She really did."
Youngji slams her hands on the table. "I wasn't able to get you guys drunk, but at least I can say that I'm the first person to have the it couple on my show!"
Jade, who was in the middle of sipping her drink, suddenly pauses and looks at Youngji with a smirk. "Actually..."
Youngji immediately stiffens. "What do you mean, actually?!"
Jade grins. "We've already been on Aeri's Playbook before."
Youngji lets out the most defeated sigh of her life, flopping against the back of her chair. "OF COURSE YOU HAVE!"
Mingyu laughs, patting Youngji's shoulder. "But you're the first person to interview us as a couple."
Youngji sits up, flipping her hair dramatically. "Okay, yeah, I am the first." She claps her hands together. "Everyone, remember this! I got the exclusive first!"
The staff cheers, and Youngji does a little victory dance in her seat.
Jade laughs, standing up and stretching. "Well, Youngji, thanks for having us."
Mingyu also gets up, bowing. "Yeah, it was really fun."
Youngji stands up as well, bowing back. "Thank you for coming! I'm honored to have you guys here."
As the couple starts heading toward the door, Jade suddenly turns around and shouts, "When we get married, you'll be invited!"
Youngji immediately gasps, eyes widening. "STOP PLAYING WITH ME!"
Jade and Mingyu just laugh, waving as they exit.
Youngji sighs dramatically, plopping back into her seat. She turns to the camera, still processing everything. "Did you guys hear that? I'm invited. I better get that invitation."
The staff laughs as the episode ends with Youngji shaking her head, still overwhelmed by the chaos that just unfolded.
