The venue was packed with Blinks, their cheers and excitement filling the air as Jade took a deep breath and stepped onto the stage. This was the last fan sign of her solo era, and she felt a bittersweet mixture of joy and nostalgia wash over her. This wasn't just any fansign; it marked the culmination of her solo journey, and she wanted to make every second with her fans memorable. The lights softened around her as she walked to the center, waving at her fans, her smile lighting up the entire room.
"Hi, everyone!" she greeted, her voice warm and filled with affection. "I can't believe this is the last fan meeting for XOXO era. Thank you so much for being here. You have no idea how much it means to me."
As she looked out at the audience, she spotted signs with her name, banners with heartfelt messages, and Blinks holding up light sticks, their faces full of anticipation.
"Honestly, this whole journey has been incredible," she said, glancing down for a moment, her voice soft. "When I started working on this album, I didn't know what to expect. I was excited but also nervous, wondering if I could give you all something special. And seeing all of you here tonight... it just feels so unreal."
The fans cheered, calling her name, and Jade chuckled, clearly touched. She went on to share stories from the past months, talking about the ups and downs of the recording process, the late-night dance practices, and the emotional moments she'd experienced. "There were times when I felt like giving up, but you all gave me the strength to keep going. Your letters, your comments, every time I saw your support, it was like a light guiding me."
At that, Blinks began chanting, "We love you, Jade!" over and over. She couldn't hold back her smile and playfully blew kisses to them, her eyes glistening with gratitude.
Jade took a seat, and as the fans lined up, she picked up her pen, ready to sign each album with care. One by one, fans stepped up, many of them with handmade gifts and letters for her. She accepted each one gratefully, listening closely to their stories and sharing in their excitement.
"Jade, you've been such an inspiration to me," one fan said, her voice shaking slightly as she held out her album for Jade to sign.
Jade smiled warmly and reached across the table to take the fan's hand briefly, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Thank you so much. I'm just as grateful to have you supporting me. Without Blinks, this whole journey wouldn't have been possible."
As Jade continued with the fansign, a young fan stepped up to her table, holding a small, beautifully wrapped gift. She seemed a bit nervous but wore a hopeful smile as she approached. Jade's eyes softened, sensing the fan's emotion as she reached out to take the gift.
"Thank you so much for this!" Jade said warmly, her eyes lighting up as she looked at the gift. "What's your name?"
The girl smiled shyly. "It's Hana."
"Such a pretty name!" Jade replied. "Hana, I have something for you, too." She handed Hana a small Valentine's box, one she had lovingly prepared for her fans. Inside were chocolate-covered strawberries, a muffin, and a handwritten love letter she had poured her heart into for Blinks.
Hana's eyes widened with surprise and gratitude. "Really? Thank you so much, Jade!"
Jade smiled, watching Hana's reaction to the gift, and encouraged her to open the box right then. As Hana took a peek, her fingers traced over the carefully crafted letter, her expression touched. After a moment of shared warmth, Hana looked back at Jade, her gaze filled with something deeper than just excitement.
"Jade," she began, her voice trembling slightly, "I've been a Blink since 2016... but I became a fan of you after I saw you in School 2015."
"Oh my goodness, that's so long ago!" Jade laughed, her voice tinged with surprise and nostalgia. "That's amazing, thank you for being with me since then."
Hana continued, her voice barely above a whisper, but Jade leaned in close to hear every word. "It's been... a tough time for me recently, and I felt like I didn't really have anything to look forward to. But then your album got announced, and... it gave me a reason to wake up every day, to keep pushing. You brought me something to be excited about when I thought I couldn't feel that way anymore."
Jade's eyes filled with emotion, her heart swelling as she listened. Her smile softened, and she took a deep breath, reaching across the table to gently hold Hana's hand. "Hana, I can't tell you how much that means to me," she said, her voice laced with emotion. "I never imagined that something I created could give someone hope. That's... that's everything to me."
Hana's eyes grew misty, and she wiped at a tear, laughing softly through her emotions. "I don't think I would have made it through some days without knowing this album was coming."
Jade took a steadying breath, doing her best to keep her own tears from spilling over. "Then I promise, Hana, that I'll keep creating and sharing my music with all of you. There's so much more to come, and I'll work hard so that you all have something to look forward to."
She squeezed Hana's hand, letting her words settle, before continuing, "And please remember that you're not alone. Life can feel heavy, but there's always hope, always something good waiting. Keep looking forward, because brighter days are coming. Just take it one day at a time."
Hana nodded, her face flushed with gratitude and emotion. "Thank you, Jade. I'll remember that."
Jade reached over to give Hana a quick, warm hug, and the two shared a final smile before Hana stepped aside, her heart visibly lighter as she clutched her Valentine's box close. Jade watched her leave, her own heart filled with both pride and purpose, knowing that every late night and moment of hard work had been worth it for moments like these.
As the fansign event continued, a young fan, who had been eagerly waiting her turn, stepped up to Jade's table with a bright smile. Her name tag read "Haeun," and she looked at Jade with the excitement only a dedicated Blink could have.
"Hi, Jade!" Haeun greeted, her eyes sparkling with joy as she finally stood face-to-face with her idol.
"Haeun!" Jade smiled warmly. "It's so nice to meet you! How are you?"
"I'm great now that I'm here!" Haeun replied, laughing a bit nervously. "I wanted to ask... would you consider doing more lives? When you used to go live a lot, it really helped me get through some tough times. I loved how you talked to us like we were your friends instead of just fans."
Jade's face softened, visibly moved by Haeun's words. "Of course we're friends! You guys mean so much to me, and knowing my lives could help even a little is so special." She paused, leaning in closer as if sharing a secret. "What kind of lives would you like to see, Haeun?"
Haeun's face lit up with enthusiasm as she thought about it. "Well, maybe you could do a mukbang sometime! Oh, and maybe a dance jam! I saw Enhypen do one, and it looked really fun."
At the mention of Enhypen, Jade smiled, recognizing the opportunity to connect over their shared fandoms. "Ah, Enhypen! I know them," she said with a small chuckle.
Haeun's eyes widened with surprise, nearly dropping her phone. "Waitโyou know Enhypen?"
Jade grinned, amused by Haeun's reaction. "I do! They're super talented and really nice." She paused, thinking for a moment. "Hmm, if I had to pick a bias, I'd say... Ni-ki, because he's Japanese, and Sunghoon, because he was a figure skater!"
Haeun let out an excited gasp, clearly pleased with her answer. "Ni-ki and Sunghoon? Great choices! But wait... have you met them?"
Jade laughed softly, shaking her head. "Not yet! I'd love to get to know Ni-ki. I think it'd be nice for him to have a Japanese friendโor maybe even a 'nona' to look out for him!" She sighed playfully. "But, you know, Mingyu and Jungkook won't introduce me to him! They keep saying I'd be 'too nosy.'"
Haeun burst into laughter at that, imagining Jade's friends trying to keep her out of trouble. "Oh, come on, they should know you're only looking out for him! Plus, you'd be an amazing nona."
Jade grinned. "I'll just keep asking them. Maybe I'll get to meet Ni-ki one day and we can do a little Japanese mukbang or something!" She looked back at Haeun, her expression softening. "But really, thank you for sharing what you'd like to see on my lives. Doing a mukbang could be so much fun."
Haeun nodded excitedly, clearly thrilled that her suggestion was taken seriously. "And you could even do a dance jam! I'd love to see you just freestyling and having fun."
"Dance jam sounds great too! I could even invite some of my friends and maybe do some cover dances for you guys," Jade said, smiling at the thought. Then, as if a new idea popped into her mind, she looked back at Haeun. "Oh! How about a book club live? Would you like that?"
Haeun's eyes widened with excitement. "Yes! That would be amazing! I've always wanted to know what books you're into."
"Perfect!" Jade clapped her hands together, now fully engaged in the idea. "I'll look for a book that Blinks might enjoy, and we can read it together! We could talk about it on live, and everyone can share their thoughts in the comments."
Haeun nodded, clearly overjoyed by the thought. "That sounds like so much fun, Jade. Thank you for listening and being so open to connecting with us in different ways."
"Of course, Haeun." Jade placed a comforting hand on Haeun's. "These lives and fansigns... they're just as special to me as they are to you. I'll keep looking for ways to make sure they stay meaningful and fun for all of us."
Haeun smiled, holding onto Jade's hand a bit longer as the next fan in line waited their turn. She gave Jade a small wave and said, "I'll look forward to the next liveโand the book club!"
Jade waved back, her heart full as Haeun left, already planning the next ways she'd stay connected with her beloved Blinks.
Soon after, another fan steps up to Jade's table. Her name tag reads "Yuri," and her eyes are warm, with a familiar spark of recognition that makes Jade tilt her head slightly, trying to place where she's seen this fan before. Yuri offers Jade a polite smile, bowing slightly as she approaches.
"Hi, Jade!" Yuri says with a hint of excitement, though there's a calmness to her demeanor that stands out.
"Hi, Yuri!" Jade replies, reaching out to shake her hand. She narrows her eyes playfully, a look of curiosity crossing her face. "You know... you look familiar. Have we met before?"
Yuri's cheeks turn a faint shade of pink, and she lets out a small laugh. "We have, actually! It's been a little over a year, though. I wasn't sure you'd remember."
Jade raises her eyebrows, clearly intrigued now. "Really? A year ago?" She squints, her mind flipping through memories as she tries to recall where she's seen Yuri before.
Yuri nods, still holding back a bit. "Yeah, you probably wouldn't recognize me right away, but..." She pauses, glancing around to see if anyone's close enough to hear, before leaning in slightly. "I was with a group of friends that day... when we saw you on a date with your boyfriend."
Jade's eyes widen as the memory suddenly snaps into place. "Oh my gosh!" She covers her mouth with her hand, letting out a laugh of disbelief. "That's right! Now I remember!" She looks at Yuri, her expression softening. "You guys were so polite about it. You didn't say anything to anyone."
Yuri grins, clearly touched that Jade remembers. "We promised each other we wouldn't. It was so special to just see you two being happy together, like normal people."
Jade's heart warms at the thought, and she feels an immense sense of gratitude. "Thank you, Yuri. That means so much to me. I know it can't have been easy to keep that a secretโespecially for over a year."
Yuri shrugs, a soft smile on her face. "It's okay, really. It felt more like our little secret. We didn't want to take that away from you. Plus, I thought maybe... one day, I'd have a chance like this, to tell you in person how much we all wanted you to just be happy."
Jade's eyes mist over slightly, and she reaches out to clasp Yuri's hands, her grip gentle yet filled with sincerity. "That's so kind of you. Thank you for respecting our privacy like that." She pauses for a second, a thought crossing her mind. "Wait... do you still have the pictures you took that day?"
Yuri blushes, nodding as she glances down at her phone, almost shyly. "Yeah, I still have them saved. I never deleted them, just... never posted them, either."
Jade laughs softly, clearly touched. "I don't even know how to thank you for being so respectful and patient." She smiles warmly at Yuri, a glint of excitement in her eyes. "You know, when the time is right, I'd love for you to be able to post them."
Yuri's eyes light up at this, her excitement finally breaking through. "Really? Does that mean... you'll be revealing it soon?"
Jade chuckles, nodding as she leans in, lowering her voice as if to share a secret. "Yes, by the end of this year, we're planning to make it official."
Yuri's face breaks into a wide smile, her happiness clear. "That's amazing, Jade! I'm so happy for you."
Jade places her hand on Yuri's arm, feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude. "Thank you, Yuri. Thank you for being so patient, for holding onto this secret, and for supporting me in a way I never expected."
Yuri nods, her face a mix of excitement and pride. "I'm really looking forward to that day, Jade. And when the world finally knows, I'll be cheering you on, just like I always have."
Jade gives her a warm, heartfelt smile. "And I'll be so happy knowing that you were one of the people who helped us keep it special. Thank you, Yuri."
The last Blink of the day steps up to Jade's table, her name tag reading "Seoyeon." She's holding a small gift bag, her face lit up with a mixture of excitement and shyness as she meets Jade's gaze.
"Hi, Seoyeon!" Jade greets her warmly, her eyes soft with gratitude as she reaches out to shake the fan's hand.
"Hi, Jade!" Seoyeon's voice is a little shaky but full of warmth. She gives Jade a small bow before setting the gift bag on the table.
"Thank you for coming today," Jade says, glancing at the gift bag and then back to Seoyeon. "It means a lot to see everyone here supporting me."
Seoyeon's face lights up with a shy smile. "It's my pleasure! I actually almost didn't make it, though."
Jade's eyebrows raise in curiosity. "Really? What happened?"
Seoyeon laughs softly. "I was on vacation when the fansign was announced. I was out of the country, and as soon as I saw the news, I scrambled to change my flight and make arrangements just so I could be here."
Jade's mouth falls open slightly, clearly impressed. "You went through all of that just to be here today?"
Seoyeon nods, looking a little embarrassed but pleased. "I couldn't miss it. I wanted to be here to support you in person, especially after watching 'My Letter to You.'"
Jade's expression shifts, a look of tenderness taking over. "You watched it?"
Seoyeon nods, her gaze becoming more emotional as she continues. "Yes, I did. And I have to say... it was incredible. Watching you work so hard for your album, going through every struggle and every moment of joy... It was so inspiring."
Jade blushes a little, clearly moved by Seoyeon's words. "Thank you, Seoyeon. I put my whole heart into that documentary, hoping that Blinks could see what this album means to me."
Seoyeon's eyes shine with emotion as she nods. "It was so clear, Jade. I felt every part of your journey. While I was listening to the album, it was almost like... like I was the one experiencing all those feelings you went through."
Jade smiles softly, a trace of awe in her gaze. "Hearing that from you means more than you know. That's exactly what I wantedโto connect with Blinks, to let them in on every emotion and experience."
Seoyeon reaches into her gift bag and hands Jade a small handwritten letter, her eyes a little teary. "This is for you. I wanted to write down everything that your music and your documentary made me feel. You helped me find a strength I didn't even know I had, and I wanted to thank you in the best way I could."
Jade takes the letter with gentle hands, placing it on the table in front of her. "I'll cherish this, Seoyeon. I promise to read every single word."
Seoyeon takes a deep breath, looking a bit hesitant, then speaks with newfound confidence. "Watching you chase your dreams, Jadeโit's given me the courage to chase mine too. I've always loved art, but I never thought I could make a career out of it. After seeing you work so hard, I just... I feel like maybe I can do it too."
Jade's eyes fill with pride as she listens, reaching out to hold Seoyeon's hands. "You absolutely can, Seoyeon. If there's anything I've learned, it's that you should always follow what makes you feel alive. And it sounds like art does that for you."
Seoyeon nods, a hopeful smile growing on her face. "It really does. I just needed that push, and you gave it to me."
Jade's smile mirrors Seoyeon's, and she squeezes her hands gently. "Then promise me you'll give it a shot. And remember, I'll be rooting for you just as you've been rooting for me."
Seoyeon's eyes glisten as she nods. "I promise. And thank you, Jade. For everything. Your music, your documentary, just... being who you are."
Jade chuckles softly, feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude. "No, thank you, Seoyeon. For being part of this journey with me. I couldn't do it without Blinks like you."
As Seoyeon prepares to leave, she gives Jade one last look of admiration and joy. "Good luck with everything, Jade. And thank you again. You've changed so many lives, including mine."
Jade waves as Seoyeon steps away, her heart full, and as she watches Seoyeon go, she knows just how meaningful this journey has beenโfor her and for the fans who've been there through it all.
