- chapter one
β BROOKE PENELOPE SWAN, was one of the most unique people you'd ever meet. Yet, even that is putting it lightly. Everyone in Forks knew who she was, her father being the Chief of police had its perks.
One thing about Brooke Swan is that she is her father's daughter, through and through. After her parents divorced, they decided to do the most common thing among the population of divorced parents with twins. They each took one.
Renee had decided to stay with Bella, while Charlie stayed with Brooke. It was a mutual agreement, yet both had visitation rights, Charlie would still see Bella and Renee would still see Brooke.
Now, Brooke was the complete opposite of her twin sister. Brooke was a diva, those stereotypical cheer captain girls that you see on Tv. That's Brooke...just a little nicer.
Charlie had never enrolled his daughter into school's near their home in Forks, she'd been going to school down in La Push since she was just a child.
It was quite humerous, she was the palest person there, yet she never thought she fit in with the 'pale faces' as Embry called them
Due to her fathers friendship with Billy, she'd met Jacob. Jacob had been her best friend since she could remember, funnily enough he had two older sisters who were also twins. Rachel and Rebecca Black, the twins only a year older than Brooke, though Brooke was two years older than Jacob.
Jacob had introduced Brooke to his best friends Embry and Quil, the two boys had taken a quick liking to her and were thrilled to let her into their group, despite her being older than all of them and a grade above theirs.
School was tough Brooke's freshman year of high school, Jacob, Embry, and Quil were a grade below so they still hadn't started high school yet.
That's when she met Kim Connweller, her best friend.
Kim and Brooke's sophmore year was when the boys had finally entered high school, Brooke introduced her best friends to Kim annd they'd loved her. The girl was accepted into their group and it's been that way ever since.

September 13, the day that Brooke and Bella Swan were born. Now, Bella had never been fond of her birthday, much less when she'd started dating Edward. But Brooke? Brooke adored her birthday, she loved the gifts, the cake, everything.
"Happy Birthday, pumpkin!" Charlie cheered as he walked into the younger twins bedroom after knocking, though he sounded more awkward and in pain than cheerful. But that was just how he was.
"Where's Bella?" The oldest twin had already left for school, seeing as they started school earlier in Forks than they did in La Push. "She's already off, y'know her...always rushin' off."
"Wouldn't be her if she didn''t." Brooke snickered, before spotting the wrapped box in his hands. "Ooh! Presents!" Brooke sat up in her bed as Charlie sat at the end and handed her the wrapped present.
"Did mom send anything?" Her tone was quiet as she spoke, it was a common thing for Renee to forget a gift for her. Her excuse was that she didn't know what Brooke liked. Yet, Bella always got a gift sent.
Brooke never let it bother her though, she never had a good relationship with her mother, so whenever Renee never sent a gift it was only a prick in the finger, it never really hurt Brooke. She just always questioned if she did, though by now she should've learned to stop asking.
Charlie only shook his head at her question, of course Renee's actions bothered him. He just never knew how to confront her about them.
He was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of Brooke excitedly taking off the wrapping paper from the box. Squealing when she saw a necklace and matching charm bracelet with her initials on them.
Brooke never asked for big gifts, no matter how much of a Barbie she was, she never liked asking for big presents. Especially knowing that Charlie's earnings as police chief weren't exactly the greatest. He could gift her a card and even then she'd squeal in excitement and hug him as if he'd just bought her the newest Barbie doll.
"Thank you, Daddy!" Her arms went around his neck as she embraced him, Charlie let out a chuckle as he returned her hug. "You're welcome, pumpkin. Now, hurry it up. You got school too." He reminded her as he pulled away from the hug, pressing a light kiss to her temple and then excusing himself from her room.
β
"Happy Birthday!" Kim was the first to congratulate the Swan girl who was approaching her friendgroup who were all standing by the stairs that led to the entrance of their high school.
"Whoo! Brookie's officially eighteen!" Embry cheered, rushing forward to pick up said girl. Brooke let out a laugh, smacking her hands on Embry's back. "Em! Put me down!" Her laugh could be heard from across the parking lot. Catching the ears of both Jared and Paul froom where they approached the school.
Jared and Brooke had become friends after the two were partnered together for a english project. Jared had taken it upon himself to get her a camera that she had been talking about. At the beginning of their friendship, Brooke had bought him a set of tools after he expressed that her liked tinkering with things sometimes, and bought him a cupcake with a lighted candle on it.
"I'm not goin' with you." Paul grumbled as he walked beside his pack brother, Jared only rolled his eyes. "I'm just gonna give this to her really quick, not a big deal, man."
Before Paul could grumble anymore the duo was already standing in front of the group.
"Bee!" Jared called out, grabbing her attention. She grinned before excusing herself from her group. "Jared! What's up?" He held up the small gift bag in her direction with that familiar smirk on his face. "Oh my gosh! Thank you!" Brooke took the bag from his hand, peering into it.
'It's not much. But after what you said the other dayβ"
"It's perfect, Jared. Thank you." Brooke interrupted his rambling. Paul glanced over at the girl, coincidentally just when she glanced at him. Suddenly, his world paused.
Images filled his head, of his future, his future with her.
Jared seemed to catch on because he muttered a quick excuse and dragged Paul away. "What the hell, man." Jared nudged his friend. Paul shook his head.
No, no, no. Was all Paul could think of. He never believed in the imprint stories despite Sam imprinting on Emily. Paul never wanted an imprint, but now. Now he has one.
And that girl was Brooke Penelope Swan.
