REAL LIFE (PRESENT DAY, JULY 22),

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING WITH MY BOYFRIEND?!" River's voice awakens the two best friends cuddled next to each other in Ella's hotel room bed.

"Boyfriend?" Ella asks, sitting up as well as Matt. "Yeah that's my boyfriend, you're sleeping with." River answers.

"River we aren't dating. Just because you kissed me without my permission doesn't mean you're my girlfriend." Matt clarifies. "But- you said you liked me. Remember? After I kissed you, which you kissed back, I asked if it was okay that I did that and you said that it was more than okay then you kissed me back. And I never did it without your permission, I asked before and you said yeah." River claims.

"I did?" Matt asks, "MATT. No, you didn't, she's messing with you." Ella answers before River could deny it.

"I am not! He let me kiss him then he said I was his girlfriend!" River claims, "You're lying and I fucking know it, cause right when you guys got home that night, Matt came and told me everything that happened. About how he was so uncomfortable with you trying to hold his hand and how you kissed him without his fucking consent." Ella snaps.

"No, I'm not lying. You're just jealous that I got him before you did." River denies. "I am not fucking jealous River and this is way more than about 'who gets Matt'. You kissed him without his consent and started touching him weirdly where you made him uncomfortable. Now if a guy did that to a girl they would freak out and it would be a whole thing. Do you think it's okay to do that type of shit? And then you come in here and try to convince him that he wants to be with you and shit by practically GASLIGHTING him. What the fuck is actually wrong with you River?" Ella replies.

"Look Ella, I don't know what the fuck he told you happened, but it didn't. He said the story wrong. He was all touchy with me and he kissed me then said I was his girlfriend so before you start yelling at me defending that piece of shit, get your facts straight." River responds. "DUDE WHAT THE FUCK. He's not a piece of shit you fuck wad! Y'know for a girl who's supposedly his 'girlfriend' your a pretty shitty one. I guess I should've seen that one coming, Subbet's are shit heads." Ella defends.

Matt's just sitting there confused as fuck, his facial expressions changing every time something else is said.

"Yeah we're shit heads, may I remind you that Tucker broke up with YOU cause he KNEW you were gonna cheat on him with your precious Matty B. He actually liked you but all you fucking cared about was Matt. It was always Matt Matt Matt and never about your own fucking boyfriend." River points out. "May I remind YOU that me and Matt weren't even TALKING while me and Tucker were dating." Ella replies and River rolls her eyes at this.

"Whatever. Matt, have fun with your homewrecker of a slut." River says before walking out of the hotel room, making sure to slam the door behind her.

Matt and Ella looked at each other awkwardly.

"I'm sorry she called you a slut and a homewrecker." Matt quickly apologizes, "I'm sorry she called you a piece of shit." Ella apologizes as well.

"But being called a slut and homewrecker is way worse than being called a piece of shit." Matt replies, "Matt, it's fine. I promise." Ella laughs softly at his genuine care as he stretches his back as he yawns.
