You sat in class, repeatedly tapping your pencil on the wooden desk. Your eyes were fixated on the ticking clock that hung above the door. It was almost time for school to be finished and for you to get home where you could rest. Kyotani didn't come to class today even though you saw him earlier in the day when Kai tried talking to you.

Maybe his mom or someone came to pick him up from school, or maybe he had something to do with volleyball. As much as you tried to figure out why he wasn't here, you were at least happy you didn't have to sit next to him. After that little stunt, he pulled yesterday at your house, you were left annoyed and confused with him. He just pulled you in for a kiss and then immediately left without any explanation or hesitation. He even ignored your call.

You should've known he would pull something like that anyway, being the asshole that he is. "Y/n, are you paying attention, or is your mind somewhere else?" Mr. Basen asked, pointing to the board with his ruler. "Sorry." You mumbled, letting out a soft sigh and shifting around in your seat as you waited for the bell to ring. You were glad that school was gonna be over in a few months. If you were honest, you were tired of all the work and constantly having to wear this stupid uniform. Not to mention, waking up super early and being tired all the time at school.

It was starting to get repetitive and annoying to the point you couldn't stand it. At least you're able to graduate this year, except then you have to pick a university and study there for a few more years. It plagued your mind so much, but you just tried to drive it away. The bell rang abruptly, everyone packing their bags and trying to head out of the school as quickly as they could.

"Alright class, no homework today unless you didn't complete the worksheet from today! Have a good rest of your day!" Mr. Basen called out to the rest of the class while they scurried their way out the door. You patiently stuffed your notebook into your bag, standing to your feet and tossing it over your shoulder. Just before you were about to walk away, Mr. Basen called out to you. "Y/n, can you give this worksheet to Kyotani if you ever see him?" He handed the paper to you. "Sure." You smiled at him.

"Thank you. Have a good day." He waved goodbye at you as you began walking out the classroom door. "You too!" You shouted back, waving goodbye at him. Your smile dropped as soon as you stepped into the hallway. You were clueless as to where Kyotani was and you weren't definitely going to search for him like he was your beloved pet or something. You rolled your eyes, groaning as you looked around the halls. Why did you even care if this paper got to him? It was his grade anyway, not yours.

"Where are you, dipshit?" You whispered to yourself, peeking around the corners of the school halls to find him. You eventually gave up on that and decided that searching the gym would be the best option. If Kyotani wasn't there, then maybe his teammates were. Wait, did they even have practice today? Either way, you walked to the gym, walking out of the school building.

As you approached the gym, it sounded a little too quiet for you. Maybe practice hasn't started yet and they were just sitting around until the coach got here. You walked up to the door, taking a deep breath before quickly knocking on the door. You didn't want to be around here, especially around a group of hormonal teenage boys. The door slid open except Kyotani wasn't standing there, his teammate was. "May I help you?" He looked you up and down, twice. "Uh-yeah, is Kyotani here?" You simply asked him. "Kyotani-you mean Mad dog?" He chuckled. "Yeah, whatever. Is he here?" You asked again, growing impatient with him. "Why are you his girlfriend or something?"

This dude was just full of questions, wasn't he? You let out an aggravated sigh, lowering your head to the concrete floor before looking up again. "Can you just answer the question? I need to give him this worksheet from chemistry." You held up the piece of paper in front of him. The guy hummed in response before finally answering your question by shaking his head no. "Last I saw him he was walking around with some random girl." He shrugged his shoulders. "Do you know where he went?"

He shook his head no again. You took in a deep breath, trying to control your anger. "Can you just give this to him whenever you see him? Thanks." You shoved the piece of paper in his chest before turning around on your heel and walking off. Although you were extremely eager to get home, you decided that stopping by the local cafe to grab a drink and a small after-school snack would probably calm you down a bit. Yeah, that's what you were gonna do.

You walked off the school property, heading towards town. Just to pass the time, you took out your phone for a minute, scrolling through social media and catching up on everything in your feed. "Kyo, stop!" A girl loudly laughed. Immediately recognizing that nickname, you looked up from your phone within an instant, seeing Kyotani and some girl. Most likely the girl his teammate mentioned earlier.

You felt your blood boil, some type of anger rising within you. But why? Did he really just skip school to go out on a town date with this girl? How ridiculous. "Help me." You mumbled to yourself as you walked closer towards them. Kyotani looked away from the girl and towards you, his eyes slightly widening before he looked away. If he was going to ignore you, then you would ignore him too. You weren't afraid to play the same game as him. If he wanted to act like you didn't exist, you had no problem treating him the same. Whoever that girl was, he obviously didn't wanna be seen with her, especially when it came to you.

The both of you walked by each other, catching a glimpse of each other's eyes before you both looked away. No words spoken, no feelings shown, just a simple pass-by. As you kept walking towards the cafe, Kyotani looked back over his shoulder, staring you down. "Kyo, what are you looking at?"

"Um-nothing." He responded quickly, looking back ahead. "You sure?" She asked, furrowing her eyebrows at him. "Yeah, I just thought I recognized that girl that walked by, but I guess not." He shrugged, clearing his throat. "Oh, okay." She mumbled. Kyotani wondered to himself why you were walking towards town instead of home. Were you going to meet up with Kai? Going to have a date with him? Kyotani exhaled, trying to get rid of those thoughts about you.
