teresa

Everyone was crowded around the watch tower shouting up at someone, presumably the girl.

"Chuck, what's going on?" Thomas asked as we reached the little boy.

He was laughing and pointing, "Girls are awesome."

I chuckled and patted his back before running off to where everyone else was.

"Oh, damn!" Fry screeched as a rock hit his head.

"Leave me alone!" The girl shouted.

"Hey! Throw one more of those things, I'm- ow!" Gally swore.

"You okay, babe?" I asked trying my best not to laugh. He must have noticed the smirk on my face because he shook his head with the same smirk.

"I don't think she likes us." Newt laughed from under a wooden board that Winston was holding over their heads.

"Really? What made you think that?" I said sarcastically.

"What do you want?" The girl screamed.

"Hey, we just wanna talk!" Thomas spoke up.

"I'm warning you!"

"Oh, take cover, yall. Take cover!" Frypan scurried off, holding a dustbin lid over his head.

"Hey, whoa, whoa, whoa! It's Thomas! It's Thomas!"

She stopped when he said that. No more stones were thrown and the gladers fell into a shocked silence. The black haired girl poked her head over the edge very slowly. Thomas waved and I shuffled over next to him.

"Okay, I'm gonna come up, okay?"

The girl didn't reply she just moved back so we couldn't see her. I guess that was her saying yes.

"Okay. Just me." Thomas stepped to go but I grabbed his wrist.

"I'm coming. She might need another girl there."

Thomas hesitated for a second before nodding. I ignored Gally's annoyed look and followed Thomas up to the girl. I pushed open the hatch to see her holding a machete out.

"Whoa, okay, just erm, Thomas could you help?"

"I would if you went up."

I climbed up so we were on the same level and Thomas noticed what I meant.

"Easy, alright." He held his arm out as he sat next to me.

"Where am I? What is this place? Why can't I remember anything?"

I chuckled. I was used to all these questions. But I let Thomas answer her, there was no point me saying anything.

"This is all normal, okay? We've all been through this."

That was quite blunt so I took it into my own hands.

"Your name," she whipped her head to look at me, "that'll come back to you in a couple days. It's the one main thing-"

She cut me off. "Teresa."

"What'd you say?" I leaned forward slightly.

"My name. It's Teresa."

Now, I knew who she was. She was the girl who constantly stood by the ginger in my nightmares. I looked at Thomas, who just shrugged, then back at her.

"I- wow- okay. Teresa, I'm y/n." I would have hold my hand out but I was scared she would chop it off.

"And I'm Thomas. But you already knew that, though, I guess, huh?"

"They said I kept saying your name in my sleep. Though, I recognise both of you."

"Me? You recognise me?"

"Yes. But I don't know why I recognise you. Who are you both?"

"I don't know." Thomas shook his head. "I can't remember."

"None of us- None of us here can remember anything." I told her. "We all woke up here, just like you did."

"Yeah. I promise, we're safe." Thomas reached forward and slowly enclosed his hand around the blade of the machete. "I'm gonna take this." She let him and he flipped around in his hand so he had it by the handle.

"What's going on up there?" Gally shouted.

I got up and rested on the railings while Thomas stood straight beside me. Gally, Fry and Newt stood in a triangle looking up at us and everyone else was dotted about.

"Gall, we're fine. It's all good!" I smiled.

"Is she coming down?" Newt asked with his hands on his hips.

Thomas didn't say anything and just looked back at Teresa. She peered up at him with her blue eyes.

"Hey, listen, you guys just give us a second, okay? You included, y/n."

"Huh? Me? Oh, you want me to leave. Right, bye then." I climbed down and stood next to Fry and Gally. Newt instructed everyone to get back to work but we stayed still.

"Is this what all girls are like?" Fry laughed.

"Hello! I wasn't like that!"

"Yeah, well, you're y/n. You're just, what's is called? Special." Fry retorted.

"Oi!" I ran after him while he screamed like a little girl.

"Y/n! Fry!" Newt shouted and we stopped in our tracks looking back at him. "Get back to work and stop acting like children."

We jogged back.

"Okay, dad." I rolled my eyes and Fry chuckled.

Gally wrapped his arm around my shoulder and guided me over to the kitchen.

"What's for dinner?" He asked as Fry and I placed things on the table.

"The usual." Fry responded.

"That really tells me everything." Gally walked off grumbling to himself.

"God, he can be moody."

"Tell me about it." I sighed before we broke into laughter.

Newt, Fry, Minho, Gally and I were sat down talking while he waited for the food to be cooked. Thomas and Teresa ran up to us waving something in the air. I got up and gripped his wrist so we could all look at the thing in his hand. It was a syringe. With blue liquid in. A smile spread across my face as I took it out of his hand. I swivelled around to look at the others.

"We, my fellow friends and boyfriend, have a cure for Alby!" I held it up and they all celebrated. I turned back to Thomas and Teresa. "I'm guessing you had this."

"Erm- yeah.." She nodded.

"Great." I smiled. "Thank you, I guess."

Newt, Gally, Thomas, Teresa and I walked to Alby in the med-jack hut while Fry gave the other gladers their food. Alby was still squirming and fighting to get out of the ties on his bed. Blue veins ran from the hole in his chest all over his body.

"You've seen this before?" Thomas asked gesturing at the syringe in my hand.

"Yeah." Newt answered we didn't see the need to go into detail about why we'd seen it before.

I pulled off the cap and leant down closer to him. I looked back at them, Gally mostly, and smiled before turning back at pressing the syringe to Alby's body.

Before I could inject him his eyes snapped to mine and he grabbed my shirt and pulled me roughly to his chest.

"You shouldn't be here!" He repeated over and over.

I felt hands grab me, i immediately knew they were Gally's. Thomas and Newt attempted to keep Alby down and calm while Teresa just stood there. Clint and Jeff ran over and helped hold his arms down.

"The syringe!" Thomas shouted and I remembered I had it in my hand.

I quickly got free from Alby and shoved it into his chest, this time making sure to inject him. He immediately calmed down and slipped into unconsciousness. The boys let go and I stumbled back panting. Gally gently grabbed ahold of me.

"You good?"

"Yeah." I breathed out with a hand to my chest where Alby had grabbed.

"Well, that worked.." Jeff said.

"Okay, from now on, someone stays here and watches him around the clock." Newt demanded and we all nodded in agreement.

Gally let go of me and wondered over to the door turning around last second.

"Sundown, greenie. Time to go." He nodded and Thomas and I hastily followed behind.

The rest of them stayed in the med-jack hut staring at Alby for a few more minutes while Gally and I put Thomas in the pit.

"Hey, Gally, what is your problem with me?" Thomas asked as we walked across the grass.

"Everything started going wrong the minute you showed up. First Ben, Alby and now the girl."

We stopped when we reached the pits.

"Everybody saw she recognised you. And I'm betting you know who she is."

I ignored what he was saying and opened the door for Thomas to jump in. He looked at me one last time and I gave him a sorry look. Gally dug the torch into the ground before tying the door shut.

"Gally." Thomas held onto one of the bars. "You know we can't stay here forever, right?"

Gally ignored him and got up and walked away expecting me to follow. When he realised I wasn't I spoke.

"I'll be there in a minute. Just one second."

He nodded slowly before going to the homestead. I crouched down in front of Thomas.

"There's no point telling him that. Trust me, I've already tried. Gally likes this place. He likes how safe it is. Thomas, I know you probably wondering about what he was talking about earlier."

"Yeah, I was going to ask you about that."

"Well, a few months ago, there were these boys here. Alec, Carl, Frankie and Mike. They were plotting against me, I don't know why and I don't want to know. One day they said they wanted rid of me and shoved me into the maze. That's when I survived a night in that horrible place. But, I wasn't completely fine. I was stung."

"You- you were stung?"

"Yes, very painful. Horrible. Some blue liquid was sent up to keep me alive. The creators obviously don't want me dead. That's how we knew the blue stuff would help Alby. I might as well tell you about everything else." I sighed.

"I have a scar." I lifted up my shirt slightly. "It's from the end of a grievers leg. You are probably thinking how I survived being stabbed in the abdomen. The answer is, I don't really know. There's a lot of things I don't know about myself, like everyone else."

"Wow- that was.."

"Weird? Strange?"

"No just unexpected." He chuckled. "I thought you were with Gally."

"I am?"

"Then why do you not agree with him?"

"Just because we are dating doesn't mean I can't disagree with him. I love him and he loves me. It doesn't matter if we don't always have the same thoughts. I should really being going. Please, don't tell anyone about what I just told you. Most people know but some don't. So please-"

"Y/n, I won't tell anyone. Now, get some sleep." He nodded and moved back into the shadows to lean against the wall.
