blue liquid

GALLYS POV:

Alby walked up to the pit, grabbing my attention I turned around to face him.

"Geez Gally you look like cow muck.." He pulled a sympathetic face.

I knew I looked like crap. What do you expect? My girlfriend was injured and I couldn't see her because I nearly punched someone.

"I have some news for you." Alby continued. He rested his arms on the bars and leaned in slightly.

"What?" I grumbled.

"Alec and his friends are getting banished."

"Banished?"

We came up with the rule to banish people who broke the rules ages ago but we had never actually used it.

"Yeah. It's the best thing to do." He smiled weakly.

"Can I see y/n?" I raised an eyebrow.

"No. Not yet. Gally, I'm sorry. After they're banished you can. I promise." Alby got up and left leaving me alone, again.

-

I watched through the bars of the pit while they banished the boys.

They deserved it. I didn't pity them. Why would I? They hurt y/n.

Some of the gladers had polls and they were moving closer and closer together, pushing the others out into the maze.

I couldn't see y/n so I figured she was still in the med-jack hut.

The boys screams and shouts became muffled when the doors closed. Newt ran over and leaned down in front of me, seeming unbothered by what they just did.

"Hey, mate. Alby says I can let you out now." He smiled before helping me out.

"I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I shouldn't have attacked you. I was just," I inhaled, "mad."

"Don't worry about it. Now go see ya girl." He nodded his head in the direction of the hut. I patted his back before running off.

I walked in to see y/n on the bed asleep. She looked even worst than me. I knew she was still in pain by just looking at her. I kneeled down next to her and held her hand, waiting for her to wake up.

"Gally?"

I looked up to see her eyes open and a slight smile on her face.

"Hey." I felt my eyes fill with tears. Not sad ones but happy ones, relieved ones.

"I'm an idiot" She grumbled.

I expected at least one tear to leave her eyes, but none.

"What's up?" I get into the bed and lifted her head onto my chest, knowing this was how she was most comfortable.

"I should have listened."

"No. It's not your fault. It's not anyone's." I stroked her head.
"Princess, I'm here and we are together. It's going to be okay."

"I missed you Gall." She sat up and looked into my eyes.

The sudden, different type of affection surprised me, but I liked it.

"I missed you too." I pecked her lips. "What happened to you? I saw the boys carry you in here."

"This." She took the duvet off her and lifted up her shirt to reveal a bandage around her stomach.

Not again.

She began to lift the bandage off but I place a hand on top of hers.

"You don't have to show me." I smiled attempting to reassure her just earning a nod in the process.

"It's hurts more than lasts time," she pulled the covers back over herself, "it's like there's something in me. It looks more like a sting then a stab."

"What have Jeff and Clint said?"

"That it's healing. But they always say that. It definitely does not feel like it's healing."

"Let's just hope it fixes itself." I pulled her into my arms.

— 3 weeks later —

That it didn't do. It didn't fix itself. Y/n got moodier and angrier and her skin began to change. It became veiny and blue. Just liked George's had before he died. Jeff and Clint finally decided that she wasn't okay. They said she had to stay in the med-jack hut.

But if anyone tried to see her she would try to attack them. But not me. She didn't attack me but she also didn't talk to me. She ignored me.

"Y/n isn't okay! We need to do something!" I shouted. All the keepers were in the meeting hut.

"Gally! We have nothing left to do! The box is coming up again today. Hopefully there will be something in there." Newt told me trying to calm me down.

"Are you not worried for her?"

"Of course I am. She's my best friend! I'm trying to help in anyway possible! Just- I-I-" He didn't bother to finish his sentences he just stormed out.

All of a sudden we heard the noise of the box and I've never been so happy to hear it.

We jogged out and I held onto my trousers making sure none of my tools fell out. Newt limped up besides me and help me open the lid. Like always there was a new greenie. Alby helped him up and began to calm him down but I was more focused on y/n.

I jumped down and looked through the boxes. Newt helped and started at the other corner.

"Hey gally.." he nudged me.

I stood next to him and saw he was holding a small syringe with blue liquid in. It had the letters W.C.K.D on the side like everything else we get but there was also a note stuck to it.

It read:

Keep her alive. Put this into her wound.

That was all it said but I knew it would work. I ripped it out of Newts hands and ran to y/n. She was tied to the bed and squirming to get out. I tried my best to ignore her clear discomfort.

I pushed the needle into her body and the blue liquid flowed in. She stopped struggling and her body went limp but her chest was still moving up and down, her eyes still open.

Clint and Jeff ran in and pushed me out the way so they could look at her wound.

"Did it work?" Newt asked, running in with Alby at his side.

"It's too early to tell. But she has calmed down. Hopefully she'll be able to talk properly by tomorrow morning." Clint smiled at his and I sighed a sigh of relief.

She was going to be okay.
