BigHit's girl group CØSMIC were involved in a fatal car accident the night of March 3 (local time) on their way back from Gyeongsan, Seoul.

BigHit Entertainment came out with the devastating news earlier today. The group of five had gone out to celebrate their official debut, which had been planned to be today, March 4, since nearly a year ago.

On their way back to their dorm in Seoul, a drunk driver was reported to have hit the group's vehicle, causing it to flip onto it's side.

While explicit details weren't revealed in the official statement, the company, unfortunately, confirmed the passing of two members, Choi YeoJin (YEOJIN) and Kang TaeHee (TAEHEE).

The remaining three members, Choi SooJin (SOOJIN), Ono Misaki (MISAKI) and Choi Bom I (BOMI) have suffered severe injuries and are being treated at YulJe Medical Center in Seoul.

Upon the news, the K-Pop community who've patiently awaited their debut responded on Twitter with hashtags #PrayForCØSMIC , #ETERNALLY5 & indivual hashtags for the deceased members.

While it's still unclear on what's going to happen with their prepared content and projects, BigHit Entertainment has asked the public to respect the members' privacy during this difficult time.

Misaki slowly came out of the unfamiliar darkness, nothing but pain evident in her system once she'd regained enough sensation.

she felt her eyes being opened, a bright yet blurry light being shined directly into both.

"ms. Ono, can you hear me?" a soft voice spoke into the air, Misaki attempting to wiggle her eyebrows as her eyes hurt too much to open.

"please wiggle your toes if you can,"
she tried so hard to practically shake her entire body— signalling she was still there.

what'd happened to her?

"very good, you're doing very well.. do you know where you are?" the same voice asked, Misaki forcing a particularly hard breath out as she pried her eyes open, blinking once as a yes.

"do you know why you're here?"

she wished she didn't. the memories suddenly rushed back to the girl's mind, forcing a pool of tears to form in her orbs.

"okay.. okay," the obviously startled nurse replied, using the most comforting tone she could to try and calm the girl.

the nurse finished writing information down in the girl's chart, turning her head to the side when the door opened. the girl bowed in response, softly smiling.

"any good news?" EunBi said, feeling the same level of distress as she had when she'd received the call the previous night.

her eyes trailed towards the Ono girl, widening when she saw her twitching finger. "she's awake?"

the nurse nodded, "she just came back to us.. i still have to run tests to see if the surgery was a complete success, but the results are looking positive thus far,"

surgery?

as EunBi approached the girl, she saw Mia's eyes shoot wide open, rapidly scanning the space above her. "hey, hey.. you're okay, it's okay," she softly spoke, gently gripping onto the younger's hand.

EunBi and the nurse were seperated from the girl by a glass panel, Mia unable to hear what they'd say.

the older had been left in charge of caring for the remaining members for a few hours, their parents unable to travel to Seoul in such a short notice.

especially Akane.

"so?" she said, eyes trailed on the floor.

"Misaki's surgery proves to be a success so far. we were able to find the source, and stopped the bleeding early on. we'd done some scans prior to taking her in, and it did, unfortunately, show an injury on her Wernicke's area."

EunBi breathed out, covering her face with her hands.

"we tried everything we could, and we still have to run some tests, so please don't worry too much. however, with the impact that we could spot,

Misaki will lose the ability to speak a majority of her non-mother tongues."

the Hwang girl's eyes widened, looking up at the nurse in shock. "that's Korean.. she needs her Korean-" she stopped her own words, breaking down into tears.

"i'm very sorry. we have speech therapists that've helped patients at exceptionally high levels.. we just need to focus on Misaki's full recovery before that."

EunBi nodded, "of course, of course," she sighed, tears cascading down her cheeks.

the older soon walked to the room next door, knowing SooJin would be appreciative of a visit.

things hadn't looked too good for the second eldest member since they'd arrived— the doctors performing an emergency leg and arm surgery on the girl, her body covered in white casting.

EunBi sat at the foot of her bed, soon moving closer to hold to the girl's hand.
"SooJin-ie.. you can't leave me either, okay? Misaki and Bom need you, hm? they need their 언니.."

"Bom.." she trailed off, looking into the youngest Choi's room. she sighed, even more tears making their way down her puffed-up face. the girl's body was covered in forming scars, countless bandage wrappings painfully visible.

"please, be okay."

"how's.. girl's?" Mia's voice was small, coughing as her eyes remained closed.

"the girls are.. hanging on, Mia. they're trying,"

she knew what that meant. Mia knew she'd have to say goodbye to two more of her members— leaving her alone.

her face was soon filled with tears and their marks, eyes opening to look at the digital clock on the wall.
