Guilt was one leading emotion filling Shay's body. She could feel her stomach churning as the thought of Ben entered her mind. How could she do this to him? Why did she allow it to go this far with Jax last night she should of stopped it.
"Mornin darlin." Jax's voice pulled Shay from her thoughts as he placed a kiss on her cheek.
"Morning." Shay said, her voice monotone as she continued to stare up at the ceiling.
She didn't understand how Jax could be so happy. Didn't he realize what they had done? They both were going to be responsible for hurting the people who loved them. Sure, Shay wasn't a fan of Tara, but that didn't mean she purposely wanted to hurt her, and Shay knew that's exactly what Tara would think.
"What's wrong?" Jax asked as he removed his arm from around Shay, leaning on his shoulder to get a better look at the woman.
Last night had been one of the better ones for him in a long time and he didn't understand why Shay was acting so distant this morning. He had hoped last night would change the dynamics between them. Jax wanted more than just co-parenting between them. He had for a while.
Shay finally removed her blue eyes from the ceiling and looked at Jax with a perplexed look on her face. Sometimes she wondered if he lived in the same reality as she did.
"What's wrong? Jax, we slept together and we're both in relationships! That's what's wrong. I just cheated on Ben. I can't believe I did that." Shay ran a hand over her face as her voice wavered with each word she spoke.
Jax slowly pulled Shay's hand away from her face, his blue eyes intensely staring into hers. It was silent between the pair as they stared at each other trying and hoping for the right words to fall from their mouths.
Jax didn't want to just say 'it would be okay' because he knew it wouldn't make anything better. They had both forgotten about Tara and Ben when they let their sexual frustration get the best of them, and now they would have to deal with the consequence of their actions.
"I need to go buy plan b." Shay said abruptly, breaking the silence between them.
In all the haste of taking off each other's clothes and kisses being placed on each other's bodies they had forgotten about a condom. Not only had they been so stupid to have sex but they had done so unprotected — yet again , but this time it would not result in a pregnancy.
"What?" Jax questioned with confusion in his voice as he watched Shay practically jump out of the bed and begin pulling on clothes.
"You didn't wear a condom last night. I need plan b. Can you please fucking pay attention, Jax." Shay spoke through her teeth with clear frustration in her tone as she pulled on a pair of jeans.
"I need to go drop Leela off with Natalie, grab the plan b, and go do some paperwork at St. Thomas." The Miller woman spoke to herself as she listed off the things she had to do.
Jax watched as Shay hurried around the room grabbing things and tossing them into her purse. He could see the anxiety rolling off of her body. He wanted to calm her down but he knew it was pointless when she was like this. Jax knew Shay long enough to know just to let her ramble to herself and do her own thing.
"You don't have to buy plan b." Jax said as he got up out of the bed and began looking for his own clothes.
He didn't know it, but when Shay said he hadn't worn a condom last night he got excited about the idea of her possibly getting pregnant again, but when she mentioned plan b all of that excited had quickly left.
Shay quickly turned around to face Jax, her dark hair flying in front of her blue eyes. Did he really just say what she thought? He possibly couldn't have. He had to be joking.
"Don't make jokes like that." Shay said while shaking her head, placing a piece of her hair behind her ear. "It's not funny." She added while scratching at her forehead.
Her anxiety was at an all time high right now and Jax joking wasn't helping at all.
"I'm not." The blue eyed biker said with a shrug as he stared at Shay — a completely serious look on his handsome face.
"Jax, be so fucking for real right now. I'm not having this conversation with you. You really think bring a third child into this shit is the best thing right now? Oh, not to mention how that conversation with Ben and Tara would go. Yeah, really fucking great idea." Shay shook her head as she ran a hand through her dark hair.
There was so much more she wanted to say to him, much harsher words but she wouldn't right now. She didn't have the time or energy to explain to him why, because honestly if Jax didn't already know why then it was pointless to even try to explain it to him.
"I've gotta go. You can let yourself out." Shay said not bothering to say goodbye before exiting the room, leaving Jax standing there alone.

Shay loved her job at the hospital and she knew finally returning to work would be the best for her. She would be doing something she loved again and she didn't have to worry about relying on Jax for money.
"Shay Miller?" A woman's voice questioned as Shay walked across the parking lot.
"Yes?" Shay said as she turned around towards the voice.
The Miller woman looked the unknown woman up and down. She was tall and slender with blonde hair and a shit eating smirk on her face.
"June Stahl, ATF." She said, quickly showing her badge. "I can see why Officer Costello is so infatuated with you." She added while looking Shay up and down.
Shay crossed her arms across her chest, rolling her eyes at the woman. It didn't surprise her at all that June Stahl had finally made her appearance known to Shay, though she was surprised with how long it took the agent.
"Can I help you or are you just here to check me out?" Shay questioned with a sarcastic smile on her face.
A chuckle left June's mouth, "you are a feisty one. I suppose you have to be to have a child with Jax Teller though."
"Look, if you have anything important to say you can call my lawyer. I don't enjoy this little game you're playing." Shay stated.
She wasn't going to play this little mind game with this woman. Many before her had tried it and many had failed and Shay was sure June Stahl would too.
"We don't have to get lawyers involved. If you ever want to talk here's my card." June smirked as she held out a little white card towards Shay.
"No, thanks." Shay said refusing to reach for the card. "I don't have anything to say to you. Now, have a good day Agent Stahl." Shay said while turning her heels, heading towards her car.
"Oh, Agent Stahl?" Shay called out turning back around to face the smug woman.
"Yes?" She questioned with a hopeful look in her eyes.
"Leave Donna Winston the fuck alone." Shay said with pure venom in her voice before walking off, leaving June Stahl standing in the parking lot of St Thomas with a smirk on her face.
