"Are you gonna tell me what this super secret meeting is about?" Shay broke the silence as she questioned Donna with a raise of her eyebrow.

A teasing smile was on Shay's face as she asked the question. It had only been a joke of course, but the look that crossed Donna's face made it feel like maybe it wasn't.

"I'm only kidding, Donna." Shay quickly added. She hadn't meant to cause panic in her best friend but it seemed like she did with that simple joke.

"Do you ever think about leaving? Getting the hell out of Charming and away from the club?" Donna asked, staring into Shay's blue eyes.

Shay looked at Donna for a minute, studying her best friend. Donna looked tried and nervous which Shay didn't find all that too alarming she did have two kids to take care of after all and with Opie going back to the club full time it certainly didn't help.

Shay and everyone else was well aware of Donna's feelings on the club ever since Opie got locked up, but Opie was SAMCRO through and through. He would give his life for the club like all of them would.

"I think everyone has had that feeling." Shay said softly as she scratched at her eyebrow. "It's a hard life we live. It's definitely no where near normal." Shay stated with a small laugh.

Of course Shay had thought about leaving Charming and SAMCRO behind, but she couldn't nor would she. Charming was her home and SAMCRO was her family and she'd never leave either one of them behind. She had learned a long time ago to deal with the lifestyle β€” embrace it even.

"It's a fucking blood bath, Shay." Donna scoffed. "Any second Opie could be taken from me and the kids again because of the club and I'm suppose to be okay with it?"

Shay's leg began to bounce up and down at Donna'sΒ  words. There was so much truth in them and she thought about what would happen if Jax were to ever be gone from her and Leela's life.

"No." Shay shook her head. "It's just something we have to live with though. Opie knows the risks he's taking." She stated softly.

All the men knew the risks they took when they joined SAMCRO. It was a fucked up thing to say but it was true, just like all the women who got involved with them knew there was a chance of years in jail or worse a violent death.

"I've talked to this woman." Donna said, averting her eyes away from Shay's. "She said she could help Ope and me."

Shay was straining to hear Donna who's voice kept getting lower the more she talked. Shay's eyebrows furrowed at her best friend, confusion clear across her face.

"Woman? What woman? What are you talking about Donna?" The string of questions rushed from Shay's mouth as her leg bounced up and down even quicker.

"Her name is June Stahl." Donna explained as she ran a hand through her dark hair. "She's an ATF agent and she said she could get us out of here, away from the club. We could live a normal life." The Winston woman said with a small smile.

Shock ran across Shay's face at Donna's words. She couldn't believe it. Shay had heard about June Stahl from Gemma and Jax but had yet to meet 'the bitch' herself β€” as Gemma called her β€” though she was sure it was only a matter of time until she met her.

"Donna an ATF agent?" Shay was dumfounded that Donna was even entertaining the idea. "You can't trust a fucking ATF agent! They do this shit all the time. They try to get someone to turn on the club and make all these empty promises."

Shay was fuming at this point. How could Donna trust this bitch. She had seen many ATF agents come and go through the years. Each one of them trying to take down SAMCRO or try to make deals with someone close to the club. It never ended well for the agents or the one person slipped up and wanted what was promised to them.

"I want a normal fucking life, Shay! I want my kids to have their dad. I can't live like this. I can't be scared of Opie going back to prison or dying." Donna's voice broke as she spoke, tears falling from her eyes.

Shay stood up from the chair and pulled Donna into a tight hug. She understood where she was coming from but she was going about it all wrong.

"Donna, I love you and Ope and the kids, but what you're doing is wrong. You're doing this all wrong. If the club finds out about this you won't have to worry about prison time for Opie, because it will be so much worse." Shay warned her crying best friend.

Donna wiped the tears from her eyes and looked up at her best friend. "You won't tell will you?"

Shay looked down at Donna, her best friend was putting her in a hard position. She didn't like being asked of this from her. Donna was her best friend, but so was Jax, and the club was her family.

"Don't be me in that position, Donna." Shay warned before removing her arms from around Donna.

"I haven't decided anything yet." Donna assured her.

"Good, because you better think long and hard about this. It could cost you a lot more than that normal life you're looking for." Shay said in a cool tone before grabbing her purse and leaving the Winston home with a heavy head.

"You okay sweetheart?" Gemma asked looking over Shay as the dark haired woman stepped inside her home. Gemma could always read Shay's emotions well having raised the Miller woman most of her life.

"Yeah." Shay nodded. "Just have a headache." She added while running a hand through her dark hair.

Gemma raised an eyebrow towards the younger woman but decided against pushing it β€” for now at least.

"Do you want me to keep Leela for the night? Jax told me you aren't sleeping again." The SAMCRO matriarch said as she looked at Shay with concern.

A sigh of relief left Shay's lips at Gemma's offer. "Thank you so much, Gem." Shay threw her arms around Gemma, hugging the older woman tightly.

"Of course sweetheart." Gemma said with a small laugh. "You need to take care of yourself just as much as you take care of Leela." She stated while placing a kiss on Shay's cheek.

Shay nodded at Gemma's words. She knew she needed to start taking better care of herself. Shay knew she couldn't keep running on little to no hours of sleep while taking care of Leela. It wasn't fair to either one of them.

"Go home and take a bath and get some sleep. I'll have Jax come check on you later." Gemma said with a smile before placing another kiss on Shay's cheek.

"You don't have to do that." Shay argued. She didn't need Jax to check on her. She wasn't his problem.

"I know I don't." Gemma smirked before practically shooing Shay out of the house.

Shay rolled her eyes before getting back into her car and making the short drive back to her house.

A satisfied sigh left Shay's lips as she laid in the hot bath with a washcloth over her closed eyes. She could feel her headache start to slightly face as she rubbed at the back of her aching neck.

It was nice to be alone in the house for the night. Ben had decided to stay at his for the night and while Shay enjoyed having his company she was glad to have the alone time to herself. It was rare that Shay had alone time and she missed it.

A knock on the door pulled Shay from her thoughts. She rolled her blue eyes underneath the washcloth and ignored the knocking, she was too comfortable to get out of the bath. Whoever it was could come back at another time.

"Comfortable darlin'?" The sudden sound of Jax's voice startled Shay.

Shay ripped the washcloth from her eyes and sat up quickly in the bath throwing a glare towards the smirking blonde.

"What the fuck Jax?" Shay asked with annoyance in her tone. "Why the fuck are you in my house?" She demanded to know while still glaring at him.

Jax licked his lips as he stared at Shay's naked body. Of course he had seen it before plenty of times but it still amazed him. Shay was the most beautiful woman to him. He loved everything about her.

"Fuck off." Shay said while rolling her eyes as she realized Jax was ignoring her and staring at her naked body. "Hand me a towel you ass." She demanded while covering her bare chest with her arms.

Jax let out a laugh as picked up a towel from the rack and handed it to the brunette. "It's not like I haven't seen it before darlin'." He stated smugly.

"I swear to god." Shay warned as she stood up and wrapped the towel around her body. "Now explain to me why you just walked into my house like a psycho."

"I was knocking." Jax shrugged. "Guess you were too comfortable to answer." He laughed.

Shay rolled her eyes as she pushed passed Jax, walking out of the bathroom and towards her bedroom.

"Gemma asked me to check on you. She said you weren't feeling good." Jax explained as he followed Shay into her room, his eyes looking around the bedroom.

"I haven't been sleeping and I had a pretty shit day." She said while throwing on an old t-shirt and quickly pulling on a pair of underwear

"Well I'm here to help with that." Jax smiled as he took off his cut and kicked off his white sneakers.

"Oh yeah? How are you going to help?" Shay questioned with a smile growing on her face.

Jax smirked as he walked over towards Shay's bed, pulling the blanket back he laid down and motion for her to do the same.

Shay raised an eyebrow at Jax for a moment before getting into the bed. Jax quickly pulled Shay close to his body and wrapped his arms around her, his head resting on top of hers.

A sigh of relief left her lips as she got comfortable in Jax's arms. When they use to hook up he always use to cuddle with her like this to get her to fall asleep and it always worked. Ben had tried to cuddle her to help her fall asleep, but it never worked. It only ever worked with Jax.

"Thank you." Shay mumbled through a yawn.

"Of course darlin'." Jax said while placing a kiss on the top of Shay's head. "I love you." He said softly before the both of them quickly fell into a comfortable sleep.
